This is the reason I couldn't be a vegetarian. Meat is so delicious. I had the tubby which had sausage and some other meat in it. Was 8.30 and fed me for two meals so absolutely worth it. So juicy, flavorful, such a sturdy meat feel in the mouth. So good. Their sticks are also good. I've tried the jalapeño stick and smoked hottie and I think I liked the smoked hottie more. The jalapeño one had a good jalapeño flavor but otherwise just tasted salty to me. The smoked hottie seemed to have some other good flavors, can't really identify them sorry....but they're a great snack! Try em!

I really, really liked this place. A little "dive" sandwich shop in a rough-n-tumble neighborhood with killer meats. All their meats are smoked in house & they boast the largest selection of hand-made sausages in Tucson. When I walked up, I was greeted with signs stating "no cell phone's" (sic) and no e-cigarettes...good start. The glorious counter of meats was a lot to take in, it was near-heavenesque. I was ready for an amazing sandwich & the list of sandwiches listed on the wall made for some in-depth reading. I was torn between getting pastrami & corned beef...but why settle? I ordered the animal which was a combination of the two meats with Swiss cheese and an extra slice of Rye bread & slathered with mayo and mustard. The lettuce & tomato completed this double-decker masterpiece. I was ready to write in carnivorous decadence but was met with flimsy bread that was a downer. After eating half, I deconstructed the sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed the pastrami, corned beef & Swiss cheese. Fret not, gentle reader, I will be back to try one of the 50+ sandwiches but will avoid the rye bread.

You can never go wrong with an Uncle Eddie! Bunyon is amazing! You can't go wrong with any of these great sandwiches!!!! They also have a great selection of sausages & steaks to throw on the grill!

The sausage shop is one of Tucson's hidden gems. It is an old fashioned style deli/butcher, and you won't be disappointed. The sandwiches are incredible, piled high with delicious meats and fixings. Great spot for lunch. They also have a variety of tasty sides and some hard-to-find sodas. The meat selection is what I come for most often, whether it is brats marinated in Tucson's own Dragoon beer or chipotle bourbon bacon I'm always impressed. Come in for lunch pick up something for the grill (or griddle)!

Absolute favorite sandwich shop. Every sandwich is tasty, and the owner greets you by name when you enter the door.

  • Brandon S.

Absolutely the best sandwich and deli shop in Tucson! The shop is exactly how you would expect and butcher/deli shop to be. You can't beat their sandwiches though. For about the same price as subway you can get several freshly made sandwiches that will blow the competition away! I went with the "Animal" it had salami and corned beef with lettuce, tomatoes, and spicy mustard. I highly recommend trying this little gem.

This is by far one of the "Best" sandwich places to eat at! I ordered a rosko Ruben sandwich is was awesome it was just in price ranch and it filled me up and I also got a drink and some chips to go with it too.

This place is down right legit! When I was a kid my mother owned a lil bookstore right next door to this place and I've never eaten there til just the other day. Me and one of my favorite dining companions (my dad) decided to drop by after 30 years and see how Kent was doing. He (the owner) was still there, working hard and happily serving hungry guests with an entire wall full of delicious looking sandwiches. My dad ordered the Reuben as he usually does when available. It may not have been greasy or grilled enough for my taste but the house-made corned beef inside made the sandwich a hit! The meat was incredibly tender and flavorful....I wouldn't be at all surprised if he was makin his own sour kraut too. I ordered what I would consider to be the wrong thing. It was a cold Italian sub. Not what one out to select at a sausage shop. However it was easily one of the finest grinder type sandwiches I've had. It was one of the few Italian subs I've tried that required absolutely no extra ANYTHING! It had the perfect balance of seasoning, dressing, veggies and meat (turkey salami etc) and it all just tasted perfect. The only down side was there was no indoor seating and it was a bit chilly that day. All that aside ....We will return next week for sure! Even if it is snowing!!!

  • Jill H.

Man, this place is good! Tucked away in a little shopping center, it's a hidden treasure. There's no indoor seating, so plan to eat at the picnic tables, or take out. But it's an authentic deli with a wall of amazing sandwich choices. Plus you can get sausages or deli meat to go. Definitely go!

  • Sheila C.

I came to check out the sausage but it was lunch time and the line was to the door. I didn't get any sausage but it looked like they had some excellent choices there. I had to order a sandwich since I had to find out what all the excitement was about. I ordered 1/2 of a pastrami and Swiss on whole wheat. The price was very reasonable but there were only three thin slices of pastrami, a slice of Swiss cheese, some unripe tomato slices and some brown and slimy lettuce on something that looked like a Subway bun, not sliced bread. It was just okay. I will go back to buy sausage but probably not a sandwich.

If I could give this place six stars.... I've loved this deli for a very long time. I've been a customer for at least 15 years now, and it's been consistent throughout. I guess that's because the owners run the place themselves, from making the sausage to running the counter. There is so much more here than your average deli. They make their own HUGE variety of sausages, which are all very tasty. Some are smoked, some fresh. They marinate/season their bacon and cut it to order; the only place that understands when I say "very thick" that I want it to almost be like steak. Service...always friend and fast, even during the lunch rush. Speaking of which, they have top quality meats and great bread, so it's a great lunch spot.

Great meats, great sandwiches and great people. The Drunken Swine is fantastic.

  • Josh M.

Can not rave enough about the Sausage Shop. I tell everyone to go here for the best sandwiches in Tucson! If you want to get a bunch of meat for a cook out this is your place! Keep your cell phone in your pocket, they don't like them, nice to get a break for a while anyway.

  • Cristina L.

This place is absolutely fantastic. It's refreshingly traditional and I love that there's a huge wall of cleverly named sandwiches to choose from. I love everything about this place and recommend it to everyone I know in the area. They also have raw bones for your dog and I'm looking forward to taking home some freshly sliced bacon.

  • Susan B.

Went today looking forward to trying the meatball sandwich, which I've seen good reviews for. It was terrible. The meatballs were so tough and flavorless. They were actually hard to bite into. I am pretty certain they were cooked and frozen previously, which just shouldn't happen at a place that specializes in MEAT. Sauce was.....meh......nothing special. In fact, some oregano and salt would be a nice touch to a marinara sauce, lol. Very disappointed! Don't get the meatball sandwich! Ick.

  • Mariya D.

Oh man. This place is like a drug. It pulls you in with delicious smells of meat and then you fall in love with their sandwiches. I love their sandwich "the bird"...I could eat that sandwich every day, all day. It's the only sandwich I get and the only one I want in my life. One negative about this place is it closes too early and I can never make it here after work to get me a sandwich for dinner. Lots of options in terms of meat and sandwiches, which also come with chips and a drink. Good stuff.

  • Lia B.

Awesome place! Their beef sticks rocked as well as the people behind the counters. If there is seating outside, nice to sit down and eat there. Otherwise, bring a cooler and take home food to BBQ later! Loves loves it when I'm in Tucson.

This place is literally the only deli game in town. Trust me here. I am a certified deli snob. I've gone on tours in New York, Chicago and San Francisco and the Sausage Shop here in Tucson is the shiz-nit. The sandwiches are flavorful and inventive, the meats, the MEATS!, are house cured and handled and can compete with any metropolitan downtown "famous" establishment. They prepare items for your grill like sausage stuffed onions, bacon wrapped dogs and more taste bud tantalizers that switch from day to day. Just staring into the awe abyss of their succulent selections makes you hallucinate a bit thinking you can hear the juices sizzling as they hit the flame of your woodfire barbecue. Did I happen to mention they make their own sausages there? Yeah, their name just isn't a clever play, these kids are for real. Don't play it safe here, just ask what's good and what's fresh and go for it. Your mouth and soul with thank me. Plus I'm a fan of their pickles, their deli salads (not too sloppy or mayonnaise-y, which is a problem with so many delis these days) and the fact they sell electric green relish to complete your traditional Chicago dog fare. I told you I did a deli tour of Chicago right? Oh. Yeah. There it is... Anyway, please do yourself a favor and support this local business because they deserve every accolade other Yelpers have bestowed upon them. Wait, my stomach for real just grumbled as I typed these words. Alright buddy, alright. I'll take you to the Sausage Shop. Sheesh. Gotta go...

  • Justin W.

Great family feeling and family run shop. I stop in couple times a week. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu wall. Start with the special of the day, then come back the next day and try another. If you see a line out the door that means it's worth waiting for. Get a hot pickle or deer stick, just trust me. Best part they even have sausage lot of sausage and if you give them some money you can take couple home.

  • Dino R.

Tried the "Slammer" last week. It was delicious. If you go, be prepared to bring that "essence of smoke" home with you. It sticks to your clothes.

The not so secret secret sandwich, sausage, brisket, specialty meat, and bacon shop. Damn good. Super creative combos in their meats. Sandwich was ridiculously tasty and very well priced. Top notch!

The food is great but the way they treat customers needs improvement.

  • Varun P.

Their sandwiches and meats are all good. I've gotten brats and a steak here among the sandwiches they make (Ruffus is awesome). They were both really good. Cooked the brats in a campfire and their sizzling was like music to my ears. Pan seared the steak and its sizzling was like sirens calling me to shipwreck. I crashed.

Here is what I like about this place. Great Sandwiches at very reasonable prices with great service and quality ingredients. What more could you ask for? Well your not going to get a table inside but who cares. Frankly every time I'm in Tucson you will find me here. Oh just a side note I also love the $1 beef sticks here.

What a hidden gem! The beer and jalapeño sticks are amazing. I had the Rufus sandwich as well and it was on point. Great textures and flavor. This place is sure not to disappoint.

  • V F T.

Impressive selection of all kinds of sausages, both fresh and frozen. Also the dry cured little skinny sausages are fantastic. Not at all greasy and you'll never eat another Slim Jim after trying these. I'm seriously going to order a few dozen of them next time. Also brought home some roast beef, smoked tri-tip and house made pastrami. Unfortunately the roast beef was rather dry, not bad but just a little dry. The tri-tip was OK and they pastrami was unlike any pastrami that I've had before. Tasty for sure, but highly marinated or brined. In other words it was more like ham than beef. The sandwich menu is pretty extensive with some good combinations. Give it a try!

After hearing about this place for so long we were in the neighborhood a few weeks ago and decided to try it. Needing to be in the neighborhood to stop in will never happen again. The Sausage Shop deserves its own trip :) We went in blindly not really knowing what to order with the exception of having read about their burgers. We decided on the Ralph and Richard and they were awesome!! Huge sandwiches with plenty of kraut and cheesy goodness. After perusing the deli counter we had to go home with stuff to make later so we tried the bleu cheese & horseradish burger patties, cheddar and green chile brats and another type of burger patty I can't remember but not because it wasn't delicious. The patties were amazing so juicy and STUFFED with stuff. We are no longer buying our burgers to grill anywhere else. The brats were good too but the burgers were the best.

The best to ever do it! The various rubens (my favorite is Dick) are my go to sandwiches but I have had almost every single sandwich and loved every single one with the exception of the tuna salad. Jalapeno bacon is literally mind blowing buy a few pounds, and for brats my favorites are the red zone and Irish.

    (5)
  • Leah I.

Absolutely amazing variety of meats! The jalapeño bacon is a delicious alternative to traditional bacon. The chicken sausages are high quality and not made with too much filler. My boyfriend loves their egg salad sandwich and a turkey sandwich called 'the hen.' Try it! it's a hidden gem in town.

  • Stephanie A.

I love this family owned business! I have tried a few different sandwiches so far, and none have disappointed! They are huge and filled with lots of meat, and so tasty! A favorite is the Richard, which has corned beef and pastrami. No complaints here!

oh, Sausage Shop...you are full of deliciousness! Hidden away by a tiny post office and a bunch of stores I never knew were even there, this shop definitely has more than just sausage! I live nearby, but didn't discover this until just recently--but I might have to become a regular! The Sausage Shop sells meats, sausages (of course!), sauces, deli goods, and especially heavenly sandwiches! My favorites are the hot sandwiches, but an ordinary roast beef sandwich will be especially delicious because the meat will be top notch. Some Tips: Come in Earlier: Their freshly baked breads *are* limited, so don't go near closing time! You get to choose which kind of bread you want you're sandwich on, so if you're too late, the one you want might be gone... My favorites Marble Rye and Jalapeno seem to sell out the fastest, but new batches come in every morning. Expect a Little Bit of a Wait: Every time I've ever been, there's been a line. Sometimes the line is long, sometimes the line is longer. But there's a reason everyone's willing to wait, and that time is best used perusing the extravagant list of different sandwiches posted on the walls! Don't Expect to Eat In: There is absolutely no space to eat-in (there's barely enough space to hold the line that is always there!), but there are often a few tables set up outside (though outside might not be the place to be for Tucson summer...)

One of my favorite places in Tucson. No other place smells like it, the sausage is delicious, and the service is always friendly.

Hands down the best smoked pork products in town and other items are of high quality. I drive miles out of the way to pickup their double smoked bacon (jalapeno!) and tri-tip. Thank you, Aaron

MEAT HEAVEN, plain and simple. You won't be disappointed. This is the best deli in Tucson.

Favorite place to get food. Dozens of sandwiches to try and bring home sausages for later. So many to choose from but they are all great. I have had more than one BBQ with the different dogs, brats, and steaks from here. Never disappoints and always good.

I was a bit disappointed. The service was outstanding. I had the Ruben Goldberger. It was tasty but nothing special.

Hands down the best spot for lunch in town! The sandwiches are always delicious and filling, and the service is always swift. Also, the Sausage Shop is my go-to place for having my hunting game butchered, and they always return beautiful cuts and delicious sausages to me!

I discovered this place shortly after moving to Tucson thanks to Yelp. The odd part was that I was searching Happy Hours... but it was like the sandwich gods intervened and the reviews of this place were so great, I thought, "Forget happy hour, I need a sandwich!" Hands-down my favorite place to get a sandwich in Tucson. I cannot tear myself away from the Ruthie (a delectable turkey sandwich, to which I add extra pickles). I've also brought home kielbasa from here, which was equally delectable. The staff is amazing! Always so friendly... they are the pickles atop my Ruthie sandwich :)

MMMMMMMMM yummy!!! "One sandwich is big enough for two, but too good to share" these little quotes on windows i laugh at, but they really aren't kidding, the sandwiches are huge and delicious. When i walked in it is a small deli/butcher style place. It is kind of hidden, unfortunately, i can see people pass it everyday and don't know what they are missing. If you like good sandwiches (HOT sandwiches) this is the place to go, they have western style prepared meats and obviously sausages (its the sausage shop).. Definitely a type of place that would be cool to take dad to to grab a bite. I got the tubby (rightfully so haha) and right now i am overwhelmed, i can only eat 2/3 of it....forcing myself to eat that much. 7 dollars for a huge sandwich like this...totally worth it I rank their sandwiches above Roma...i can't believe i just did that Roma Imports is pretty good for sandwiches but my heart definitely goes directly to the mass of hot sandwiches...definitely going back. you can get lost in the shuffle if it gets busy so avoid lunch time..i beat the rush but 5 minutes (11:50am)

We have been going here for several years. As others have said, it's a little hole in the wall shop, in a little bit of a dodgy area. However, I think it's well worth the trip. I make my own sausages and cured and smoked meat when I have the time and energy so I know quality when I encounter it. The house made meats at the Sausage Shop are second to none. Great recipes, high quality ingredients, and superb craftsmanship in everything there. Their selection of sausages is extensive and there's something for everyone, from Portuguese style chorizo to Cajun boudan, they have it all. You want to try and avoid the lunch rush as it's a very popular place but I highly recommend trying this place.

  • Jackie T.

The sandwiches are straightforward, I prefer the hot sandwiches here. The meats are great, the bread is average. There are quirky side dishes available, like house-made hot pickles or German potato salad. The service is very friendly, they learn your name very quickly. Just don't use your phone in there (there's a sign out front, listen!). If you're a hunter, you can bring your kill over and they'll make sausages for you, for a fee of course. The location is tucked in the corner and hard to find. Their $5 lunch special is a great deal. A must-try if you are in this part of town.

Wow. Just.................wow. This place defines quality product and pride in what you do. Boyfriend had wanted to stop in here while I was visiting to get some bangers for our new tradition of early morning soccer games with full english breakfast. So, my last full day in town we woke up early and ran over to check out what they had. Unfortunately, they only had frozen bangers, which we kind of expected, and that wasn't going to work (wouldn't be ready in time for the game, about an hour later). So, we checked out what they had fresh -- figured sausage and mash would be just as good. Not only do they have standard deli meats, but they have an entire glorious case full of fresh homemade sausages -- just about any type you could want! I can't remember all the types off the top of my head, but I want to say there were about 12 - 15 types they had just made and were putting in the case. Boyfriend suggested the French Farmer, and he knows his meat so i trust him (ew, i shouldn't say that about my boyfriend but I WAS TALKING ABOUT SAUSAGE, NOT PENIS). In addition to the homemade sausage, they also had homemade hot dogs, various pork products (pigs feet, i think. not my thing.), beer sticks (basically small ready-to-eat sausages, delicious!) in several flavors, homemade pickles and side salads (potato, macaroni, etc).........i could go on and on. Add in their own BBQ sauce and various other gourmet extras, and this place has it all. The guy behind the counter was very helpful and friendly -- when I picked up a bottle of their BBQ sauce and mentioned that my best friend might like it because he current "favorite" BBQ sauce is Kraft, he chuckled and said "well, she may as well be using ketchup. Give her some of ours, she'll love it!", and then asked where I was from and struck up a casual conversation about visiting the area, etc. It was nice to see a happy face at 9am on a Saturday...........even while buying sausage. Now, onto the actual product. BEST. SAUSAGE. EVER. incredibly fresh and well made, flavorful and juicy without being greasy. I seriously could have eaten the whole pound (yes, make the joke about sticking sausage in my mouth over and over -- but you're too late, my boyfriend beat you to it). I couldn't pinpoint what spices were in it, but i could care less JUST GIVE ME SOME MORE. If you like sausage, get your butt over to Sausage Shop and get spoiled by real, amazing, delicious meat. in your mouth. over and over. Stop it, pervert, i meant food.

Few things on this planet are more satisfying than a good sandwich, and The Sausage Shop's sandwiches are nothing short of stellar. As others have said, this place is part butcher shop, part sandwich shop, and the benefits of this dichotomy are obvious from the moment that amazing smoked-meat aroma hits your nose. There are dozens of sandwich options, ranging from $5-$8, and although I've only had 4 sandwiches (hardly a dent in their extensive list), I'm gonna go ahead and say that they're all winners. Their $5 daily special (sandwich of the day, 16 oz. drink and a bag of chips) might be the best way to spend $5 if you're in the area, but it's hard to stay frugal here when there are so many tempting options. The sandwiches are large and filling, but the flavor might have you seriously considering a second one. I'm reluctant to claim this the penultimate sandwich experience in Tucson, but they're without a doubt the best that I've ever had in this city. I haven't gone in just for the butcher portion, but I do intend on buying some of their bacon someday. At ~$5 a pound, it's a tad more expensive than the cheap crap at the supermarket, but a hell of a lot cheaper than the comparably delicious artisanal cuts at higher end markets, AND it means supporting a local business. Win-win all around. Wait times can get a bit long when the place gets busy, especially because they cut all meats to-order, but even in the midst of a lunch rush, I dare say that the food is worth the wait. Plus, everyone that works there is really friendly, so even if you have to wait, at least you have a pleasant face to greet you when you finally get to the counter. If you're in the area, you owe it to yourself to stop in. Sure, it'll completely ruin all chain sandwich shops for you, but that's hardly a sacrifice. Come hungry and leave happy -- possibly with a pound of bacon.

Seriously - WOW! Amazing. I've said it before - I'm NOT a sandwich person. I went here today armed with my strong dislike for sandwiches and the belief that all of the 5 star reviews had this place as seriously over-hyped. Apparently that wasn't enough to keep me from giving this place yet another 5 star rating. This is how it goes at the Sausage Shop Meat Market - It's a very small shop. You walk in and order at the counter. Sandwich choices posted all over the wall. The place smells amazing. They have all sorts of deli meats - smoked pork chops - smoked tri tip - garlic bacon - tons of different types of sausage. I saw the usual sides such as potato salad and macaroni salad too. They offer a 5 dollar lunch special that includes a sandwich, bag of chips, and a soda. I didn't get that - I went with the Sicilian - Roast beef with grilled peppers and onions. It was super yummy. The beef melts in your mouth. I also ordered a pound of the garlic salami. Haven't tried that yet. The place is understandably popular and is very busy. They do a great job of moving people along. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. Seating is outside. There are a few picnic tables and a couple of wrought iron tables to choose from. Next time I go, I'll probably get the BLT. I really like this place.

I lived near the sausage shop for about 2 years, I would go there for lunch at least 2-6 times a week. I moved to Phoenix and I miss this place every day. A wide selection of sandwiches, delicious cuts of meats, and very reasonable prices. I love their potato (brat bun) and onion rolls. And their daily special is awesome, (sandwich, chips, and a drink) for 5 bucks!

Best sandwich in Tucson...period! You enter through a glass door telling you to keep your cell phone conversations outside. The aroma of freshly smoked meats and beautifully seasoned sausages wafts rich through the air. The line of people is more like a can of sardines waiting politely for their turn at the counter. The service is beyond great. Each customer is serviced one at a time and treated with the full attention of the shop from order through check out. The walls are papered with descriptions for dozens of amazing sandwich choices. Unlike any sandwich you get anywhere else, The Sausage shops meats are made on site. From their smoked rib roast, smoked brisket, tasso ham, capiccola and every other kind of lunch meat you've heard of they really make the sandwiches very tasty. As they prepare your sandwich you can ask for any number of changes. do you want olive oil salt and pepper on your tomatoes? How about blue cheese crumbles, horseradish bbq sauce, diced fresh jalapeno, chipotle mayo or some giardiniera? After you have passed the sandwich counter you are greeted with a case packed full of the best sausage you could imagine. They also have some very insane creations such as the "Bacon Explosion" and delicious smoked pork chops. If you want something you don't see just ask. How about some dry aged porterhouse steaks cut 1 1/2" thick or some dry aged lamb rib loin straight from the source. No matter what you want or how you want it, they will help you out as long as it is reasonable. They also have some killer sides like German potato salad, creamed herring, beer sticks, pepperoni sticks, cheesy macaroni salad and numerous other goodies including cookies and brownies baked fresh in the back. The Sausage Shop is definitely one of the best businesses in all of Tucson. Their small size, personal customer service and outstanding product make them a must try spot for anyone in the Tucson area. On your first trip, try the incogneato or the spanky and you will not be disappointed. I typically go for the Bunyan, blue-ox or boo-duh.

The Sausage Shop is hands down the best butcher shop in Tucson. The fresh sausages come in a range of perfectly spiced flavors and there's always something new in the case. They cure their own salami, smoke their own meats, and even make their own bacon (the Hungarian bacon will blow your mind). Kent and Mike are two of the nicest people you'll meet across a counter and are always helpful and friendly. If you need inspiration for what to make for dinner they can always help you think of something. The sandwiches are great too, and at lunch time the shop always has a line. My favorite is the Animal, a real monster of a sandwich, but everything on the menu is good. If you can, try a sandwich made with their home made capicola, salami, or various bolognas. Visit the Sausage Shop; you won't regret it.

I have been in Tucson for 3years and work down the street and never found this place infill now. The guido sandwich is the bomb. They have all kinds of smoked meats and sausages. The bacon explosion looks unbelievable. I will be back and often.

In my humble opinion, The Sausage Shop answers the age old question, "What should we have for dinner?" It is a fantastic place to go and load up on meat! I mean, come on, does it get much better than that? Nope, I didn't think so! I like to go and grab a few sausages of different flavors and bring them home, cook em up and chow down! The place is small and you would never know it was there unless you were looking for it. It can get pretty busy as well, but the staff has never been anything less than helpful and friendly. They do have a brochure you can take home that lists all of their homemade sausages. (I did find a typo by the way...but that is the nerd in me coming out) You can call ahead and they will have everything wrapped up and ready to go for you by the time you get there. After leaving, the smell of smoky meat will linger on your clothes and in your car. In fact, my car smelled of sausage for several days. I wonder if AirWick should look into that? The Sausage Shop could be onto something! Overall a good experience with competitive prices (think AJs, etc), wonderful selection and top notch service. Nice to see a small, locally owned business getting it right!

I visited the shop today, has always been a favorite, and ordered 2 Louisiana Hot links, 2 jalapeno sausages, and 2 Horseradish/ blue cheese burgers. In disgust, and horror, I watch the lady who had helped the previous customer, taken his cash, and operated the cash register, all with bare hands, then opened up the freezer case, reached in again with her bare hands, and picked up everything I had ordered, without washing her hands, using gloves, or even butcher paper. When I said that I no longer wanted the order, the older gentleman that is always there, the owner I presume, asked if I wanted my money back, or a different product. I chose a duplicate order. While retrieving the other meats, he mixed them up with the ones previously picked out, and then when refunding the difference in money exclaimed, "Oh I don't want to touch you." I then left the establishment without my ten dollars, or any meat. I will gladly donate that ten dollars to the business in hopes that they either buy some gloves, or some lessons in health, sanitation before selling a bunch of germ laden meats to unsuspecting customers. It is a shame, for I so enjoyed the meats. I will gladly take a lower grade of meat, in hopes that it hasn't been touched by a bunch of dirty germy hands before it gets to me. Sorry Sausage shop, Go wash your hands!!! Ewwww!

If you have not been here, GO, GO NOW! We have only been in twice so far and LOVED EVERYTHING! The people are so friendly and when we walked in, even if they didn't, they seemed as if they remembered us and gave us their undivided attention. Whether spending just a few bucks or dropping a few bills, they treated us like we their favorite customers. I just can't say enough. And when they tried to give us their list of items and I said "No thank you I already have you hanging on my fridge" I got a thumbs up from one of the people working there. What a great place!

I was at work and the wife was at home. We were talking on the "IM" and we decided that we should go to lunch. She didn't know where to go so I suggested we try the Sausage Shop Meat Market. It got really good rating on Yelp and I have been wanting to try it. She said yes and we were going to meet there at 11:45. I show up at the place about five minutes early and I was waiting for the wife by the street and for some reason I decided to kick a piece of cactus that had fallen on the sidewalk. The cactus stuck on my foot and I could not get it off. So I found a stick and tried to get it off. then I got some cactus on my hand and it started to hurt. She finally showed up and we went in the Sausage Shop. There were a lot of sandwiches to choose from and they were all about six bucks. I decided on the "Uncle Ed" which was brisket and BBQ sauce, and proceeded to work on getting the cactus out of my thumb. We got our sandwiches and ate outside at one of the picnic benches located around the corner. My "Uncle Ed" was awesome and the wife loved her sandwich too (...and she is not a sandwich person). I learned two valuable lessons that afternoon on my visit to the Sausage Shop Meat Market. The first was, "Don't kick cactus and then try to get it off your foot with your hand", and the second lesson was" If you want an awesome sandwich, go to the Sausage Shop Meat Market".

This place is one of my favorite delis in Tucson. It is tucked away in the back of a tiny retail shopping center and is not much to look at on the outside, but inside you will find a traditional deli. When you walk in you will notice all of their sandwich choices hanging on the wall. There are so many to choose from. But everything I have ordered here is great. And it is very cheap too. They have daily specials for lunch which can't be beat. Sandwich of the day, chips, and a drink for $5. Also their meat selection is very good. Lots of bacon, sausage, and cuts to choose from. The owner is always friendly to customers and they get you in and out quickly.

Definitely an experience! Go there! I wanted all my meat enthusiast friends to come with me. If you know someone who loves Italian sandwiches, corned beef, sausage, or any kind of meat, you need to take them to the sausage shop. If you know anyone that is used to the smoke shops in the Midwest, a meat foodie, or any person into wild game, take them to The Sausage Shop. They make around 100 kinds of sausages, and some of them are smoked and some of them chicken. The chipotle and blue cheese chicken sausage and the Yugoslavian garlic pork sausage sound amazing. I tried their blue cheese, and that was wonderful as well. Creamy and earthy, nothing like grocery store blue cheese with that funky, aged smell. I was the only female in the shop at the time when I ordered a sandwich, and it was funny. All the guys were shooting the breeze, ordering the More-on (4-meat sandwich) and trying to one-up another with random stories. The Sausage Shop is more expensive than the $1.99 meatball marinara 6" deal at Subway, but it is more like a homecooked meal than just a random sandwich. The specials are $5 which include a drink, but most sandwiches run from $6-$10. Go find The Sausage Shop!

Finally had a chance to drop by this past weekend. I ordered "Boo Dah," grilled green pepper /onions topped on sliced deli meat [I believe it was ham], and cheese, on jalapeño bread. The sandwich was still good but it was maybe on the saltier side - too salty for my taste and kidney. The service was friendly and excellent. I would definitely return to try other things and looking forward to write another 5-star review for this awesome deli shop!

Tiniest store ever. Signs all over say "No Cell Phone's(sic)". Lingonberry preserves, mustards, Chicago style relish, dry rubs & marinades line the shelves at the entrance. A cooler full of meats & drinks lines the other wall. The door never stood quiet while we were there. People were coming and going for both the butcher and deli sections. One sign boasts regular "Wild Game pick-up and delivery" times in addition to their beautiful selection of meats and sausages. I had the chicken salad which, was like something you'd eat on a Sunday after church. Very homemade tasting. Hubby had a smoked meat sandwich while the kids had turkey clubs. Poore Brothers chips and Sioux City sodas rounded out the meal nicely. The staff was very cordial for how hot it was in there. Outdoor seating only. I would suggest calling in your order for pickup before you go in. I'll let you know how the sausages we bought for dinner turn out!!

Great little mom and pop shop. We stopped by for lunch on a long road trip. Not too far from the freeway. I ordered the incogneato and my buddy ordered two sandwiches. Really hit the spot. Great sandwiches for a great price. Walked out with a gourmet sandwich, gourmet soda and chips for under a Hamilton. They just do it right. I definitely recommend it.

These days most of the meat we buy comes from the Sausage Shop. My favorite is the pepper bacon, but we've tried a number of different sausages (of course), teriyaki beef jerky, bacon cheeseburger patties, smoked pork chops and many more items. It's all good. John is especially fond of the sauerkraut, which is nothing like what you get in a grocery store. One thing I have not done is actually eat lunch there or buy a sandwich. There is no indoor seating, just a few tables outside. For Tucson in August, that's not exactly the most comfortable place to eat. But for meat and deli stuff to take home and prepare there, this place is pretty much unbeatable, right up there with Whole Foods (for example) or the University's meat lab. ***** Update: since writing the above, I have gotten lunch "to go" several times from the Sausage Shop. I've had my version of a Reuben - that is, everything but the bread - and French dip without bread, and brisket, and sausage. The staff is very accommodating to my low-carb needs, and the meat is even better when they cook it than when I do. If you want to pick up a good deli meal and eat it elsewhere, you'd be hard pressed to get anything better than at the Sausage Shop.

Most people don't know that Sausage Shop has the best hamburgers in town. Buy them and you'll look like a genius at your next barbecue. I bought a bunch for a track day barbecue and more than a few said it was the best they ever had. Just be sure to let them cook slowly!

Also had the yummy potato salad and some macaroni salad too. Both absolutely delicious! Fast, Friendly and clean. Can't wait to get back there!

THIS is a sandwich! Really there are only two questions you need to ask yourself before you come here A) would you like a sandwich? B) are you in the area? If you've answered both questions yes just go there you really don't need to read more about how good it is. This is a super no nonsense just good quality and great quantity type deli/ sandwich shop. My normal go to is a reuben which is stacked high and the corned beef delivers, but everything from the turkey to the salami and everything else is stacked high and all meats are fresh. Total cost is about seven bucks after tax which might be more than subway but it's a whole other league and the portions immediately tell you where that extra dollar is going. I have not gotten anything from the meat part of the store besides cold cuts but I am a fan of their capricola and the pricing is very competitive for a butcher. It does function mostly as a deli so there is no seating inside, fountain drink machine, etc but they have a great selection of canned/bottled drinks and on a good day the outside seating is just perfect. The line moves quickly and there's a strict no cell phone policy so keep note of that.

Where sausage is an art form - probably 20+ kinds. Chicken is not shot up with hormones and is actually good. They ground hamburg up for me right on the spot - talk about some great burgers that day. New York strip steaks are like tenderloin. Owners and helpers are top notch. They have good sandwiches too. Best reuben west of the Miss... We tried the other meat places on the west side and would not complain about them, but they aint even in the same league...

I am fortunate to live around the corner from the Sausage Shop because its freaking amazing. I always order the Drunk'N'Swine...pulled pork sandwich drowned in sweet BBQ sauce (usually comes with spicy sauce), chips and a small fountain drink. This sandwich comes with the chips and drink as a special. Most other sandwiches do not. The variety of deli sandwiches is great and they have really creative names. My husband and I also enjoy picking up sausages, buns and potato salad to have for dinner. Some of our fav sausages are: Red Zone (spicy), French Farmer (mmm), Hot Louisiana Hot Link (spicy as hell) and the Garlic and Onion. This is is one of Tucson's "hidden gem" good eats and our personal fav.

If you want to have a party in your mouth then hit up the Sausage Shop. This place will blow your mind. First: if it is your first visit then you come in thinking o.k. let's try this. If it isn't your first visit you are rollin' up with a fat grin on your face. The whole way over you are master debating over which sandwich you will choose. Beginners walk in (no cell phones, "ain't nobody got time for that") look at the south wall and say "holy options". Typically they eventually decide and start with a 9/10 SSS (Sausage Shop Standards) 15/10 normal sandwich standards, Incogneato sandwich. Typically a vet will go with his run of 6-8 go to sandwiches and branch out every 5 or so visits. Go with a SS vet and they will be able to tell you about the orgasmic sandwiches. Second: the choices. Tell them how you'd like the fixins. What kind of bread, condiments, double meat. If you are smart you let the employees/owners decide what to put on your sandwich. They have been doing it for a long time and will treat your taste buds. Third: the waiting. Swipe a bag of chips (this is the most insignificant part of the process) then admire all the bacon wrapped awesomeness, cheese and jalapeno stuffed animal, and all the BBQ'in tailgatin goodness you could ever want. Fourth: paying. I always steal from the Sausage shop. They give me so much for so little. Alot of food, free fragrance for the rest of the day, good conversation, and something to always look forward to. ***BUT WAIT*** before you hand over your form of currency to the cashier, stop and look below for a Beer Stick or Jalapeno stick. If i'm not in tears by this point in the process, when they wrap up my two sticks I will start shedding. Fifth: leaving. Don't say goodbye, say i'll be back to try another delicious sandwich. Sixth: Eating. Don't wait to drive home to eat your Sausage Shop sandwich....that is silly. Why let time get in the way of satisfying your taste buds. ***TIP*** when you park your arse over by the picnic benches and start munching down, hold down all your stuff, its a wind tunnel out there. Seventh: Leave. Drive home, sit on the couch, turn on Sports Center, and witness some UA basketball dominate the 2012 season.

The Sausage Shop is one of Tucson's best kept secrets. Part butcher shop, part sandwich shop, all around awesome. The guys that work here are great, service is always friendly and efficient. It doesn't matter if you are there for a dozen sandwiches for you and your coworkers, or to order 50 pounds of meat for your house, they can take care of any of your meat-related needs. My favorite sandwich is the spanky, fun to order and even better to eat!

Sausage Shop is where it's at! A true deli. They smoke meat onsite, make their own sausages (well over 20 varieties from jalapeño to chipotle cheddar, Italian, Polish and more), try male their own pickles, sauerkraut and even bake fresh bread. There's so much goodness packed into this shop that its kind of overwhelming. On top of all of this, they have close to 50 sandwiches all listed on the wall. From grinders to prime rib, pastrami, Reuben's, andouille sausage Sammie's and more. This place is legit. A word to the wise... This place gets packed. No seating inside. Service is super friendly and the owner is there every time I've been. Everything here Is high quality deliciousness. My boyfriend and I plan on trying every sandwich on their menu, one by one! Come here and pick up some sausage to throw on the grill, come here for lunch, come here and pick up their Football Season special platter that feeds 8-10 people for forty bucks. You can't go wrong with anything here. Sausage Shop is where it's at.

I literally followed the smell to the door. I was surprised by the wide variety of brats and bacon. I am that crazy person who will try every type of bacon and bacon selling establishment even if it is 10 miles from where I am. I bought chicken sausage, hot Italian chicken sausage and jalapeño bacon. Was I happy? Yes! Will I go back? Already have and bought enough back to feed a small country. Just remember to follow the rules and not use your cell phone or they won't serve you and remember your Visa or MasterCard because they don't accept American Express or Discover.

We went in here for lunch because we wanted to try somewhere new. We walked in and were amazed at the hugely extensive menu. I decided on the Ruben, and Richard got...guess which one! The Richard! I was surprised when they cut the meat to order for each sandwich, and that made me pretty excited about it! We watched them cut our meat, fry it up, and grill the sammiches. We also ordered horseradish pickles (one of my favorite foods of all time ever) and potato salad. We went outside to one of the picnic tables to eat. Our sandwiches looked absolutely incredible. The only issue I had with them...well...with everything we ordered, was that it was all so sweet. Not the meat or the bread, but the sauerkraut was very, very sweet. The horseradish pickles, which are usually spicy and sour...my mouth literally started watering typing this, were really sweet. The tasted like sweet pickled with some onions thrown into the container. No horseradish flavor at all. The potato salad, again, too sweet. The meat was delicious and the bread was delicious, so maybe we just ordered wrong getting sandwiches with sauerkraut. I want to try some of their other offerings. Richard was excited about the zillion different bacons they had, and I would like to go again knowing what I know about it.

I love the Sausage Shop. The meats are fantastic and the owners couldn't be nicer. I always get my St. Pat's Day corned beef here, and their linguisa, chorizo, andouille, tasso, boudin blanc are delicious. Recently, the Sausage Shop specially-made some morcilla for a party I had. My guests and I couldn't get enough of it. Although I go mainly for the meats, the Sausage Shop also makes great sandwiches and has a large selection of sodas and condiments. This is the best meat shop in Tucson, in both service and product quality.

I mention in my Dickman's review that there are very few traditional butcher shops in Tucson, right? This is the other one I know of. You know you're in for a treat when you open your door in the parking lot and catch a whiff of aromatic smoke, that only gets stronger as you walk towards the corner where the store is located. If you're there at an on time, you then wedge yourself into the shop to wait to order. The south (?) wall is covered with sandwich options. I've only tried a few but they're all delicious. As the name would imply, the sausages are to die for. And the hunter sticks are slimjims but so much better. And the house cured bacon. And and and. My single solitary complaint is that they're all the way out on W Prince road. Though now I'm realizing that I'm a mile or two closer than I was. This is a good piece of knowledge.

I ventured in to the small parking lot and battled for parking spot. Good thing I was listening to the "secret" in the car. And one magically appreared. Ok so that was a streach. But nothing about the Sausage Shop is hokey. But there is some magic going on in that little place. Strolling up to the door, it is rather unassuming. As I reach for the door I get a whisp of a seductive aroma. It Is famililar... like an former girlfriends perfume... oh i remember you.. and the good times we had.... I open the door and glide in on the scent, like a cartoon character. That old feeling is back. Fresh butcher Smoked meats.. where have you been? If it was my fault.....you know the rest. The small shop was filled with the smoked wood aroma. Christmas for a carnivore. And there they were in the buthers display case. Smoked beef, sausage, turkey, pork... my eyes were welling with tears... Te Amo!! The sandwich menu on the wall is great! About 50! With names like Richard, Ralph, Randi, Rosko, Tubby, Mam-Bo, Blue OX, Boo Duh, Sven & Ole and Yo Jurzee. I see the "Animal"- Pastrami, Corned Beef, Swiss and Served on triple decker of Marble Rye!! Then a line from a Prince song echos in my head "Baby, have you got enough gas?" (little red corvette) Sheepishly, I falter and choose the special. Still a daunting sandwich- Corneed Beef & Swiss on Marbled rye - fully loaded. But Im not finshed I order 2 beer sticks, a pound of chorizo, 2 Texas hots and two stuffed hotdogs wrapped in bacon. Oh yeah and a Jar of Don Hermann and Sons Kosher Dills. I asked the owner how am I going to explain this perfume when I get home? He smiles and replies "Oh every woman from Iowa will follow you Home!" Thats right! I leave strutting like Travolta in Saturday Night Fever-- with a smoke contrail from the inside. The sandwich was flavorful and filling. The corned beef was lean and tender. Just the right amount of lettuce and dressing. Happiness for my stomach. The Beer Sticks had the snap and full of flavor. Im already planning my next visit,.. with the family. I hope she doesnt notice the scent of my new mistress....The Sausage Shop

Second try of the Sausage Shop today. Wanted to like it based on the top reviews and real deli atmosphere but... The bread was too soft and flavorless. This time I even asked the man working "Do you have any bread that's a little crusty on the outside, not soft?". He then squeezed one loaf of each type on the shelf and said "sorry they're all fresh delivered today like usual." Not what I meant.

I came here yesterday and bought some medium italian sausage and beer brats. The inside smelled absolutely amazing. I am not sure what they were grilling, but damn it made me so hungry. The service was awesome and they were very friendly. I cooked the sausages and brats later that day, and they were so flavorful. I am definitely a fan of this local restaurant/ boucherie! The only reason I am giving this place a 4 star review instead of a 5 is because the butcher grabbed the sausages with his bare hands. I would have preferred him using gloves or something else to grab the sausages. It wasn't that big of a deal since I was going to rinse them and cook them anyways, but it did irk me just a little. Overall, I had a good experience here and I will return!

*Warning* If you walk into this store you will find a sandwich you will love and walk out smelling like a meat shop. Now if you want an amazing sandwich you will understand that walking out of the store smelling like meat is just a small price you pay for the sandwiches that they make here! Positive: lots of choices, huge sandwiches, amazing staff, great pickles, all sandwiches come with chips, they have a daily special (sandwich, chips and soda $5), outside tables, decent prices for a big sandwich Negative: even if you are in there for 5 minutes you will walk out smelling like meat but then again is that a negative??

After hearing so much positive press about this place we had to give it a try, especially after my husband (the meat man), pointed out we were in the area (little strip mall off of Prince and Fairview). The place is a typical little deli with tons of meat offerings (as well as other stuff). We ordered the American Dip (prime rib was extremely dry, didn't even eat half of it) and the Blue Ox (husband said he couldn't taste anything other than the over-abundance of BBQ sauce, and he loves BBQ sauce but this was just too much). We really wanted to love this place but...maybe we should have tried a cold sandwich??

It seems that Yelp wants me to review this place as a restaurant, which is one of the best sandwich shops you can partake of, with a great selection of deli-meats, breads, and cheeses. They also have some pretty tasty sausage snacks, and I can't ever leave without at least one or two. Where this place shines though, is in its meat selection and preparation. They always have a fantastic selection of sausage, and can special order many meats for you. They'll also prepare your game if you're a hunter. I go there for my specialty bacon, I love their Hungarian bacon, as well as their Jalapeno bacon.

I have been hearing about this place for a long time and have always been too late in getting there before it closes for the day. I finally made it on a Wednesday for lunch. It is in banal shopping center on Prince and fairview in the corner. A small place packed like a carnivore heaven. The menu was daunting looking up on the wall at the actually got dizzy, maybe from hunger, or the overwhelming size of the menu ( I often have that problem). I got the Richard a cross between a Ruben and a Randy, it all sounds a little incestuous, we are actually talking food hear not Motel Hell (one of my all time c horror flicks from the 80's, but tat is a whole different story). The Sandwich was great and a super bargain. I ended up getting a pound pastrami a togo menu I could look at before I go there again and again.

One of Tucson's best-kept secrets, Sausage Shop feels like a piece of the Midwest. Their take-home deli meats and ready-to-grill items are fantastic, and their sandwiches are phenomenal. As mentioned below, the lunch special includes a sandwich, drink, and chips and it's cheaper than Subway (not to mention much tastier). The only seating available is outdoor, so you'll want to get your order to go if the weather isn't great. Also, it's tucked into a corner of a shopping center off of Prince, and it's easy to drive right by it if you don't know what you're looking for. Highly recommended, especially for meat lovers.

The Sausage Shop is fantastic. I coach at Flowing Wells and stop by here at least twice a week for lunch. The menu is amazing and there is something to please everyone. Get there early, or expect to wait a few minutes, the lunch crowd packs the place. Everything is cut to order!

I've sat down and tried to write this review 3 times now but I couldn't find the words to describe how amazing this place is. This is a DELI. This is a meat lovers paradise. You can smell it from the parking lot and you might even smell a little like meat when you leave, and it'll be oh-so-worth it. There are TONS of sandwich options. The pastrami is...scrumtrulescent. You can buy cuts of meat, steak(!), sausages, macaroni and potato salads and more. Even the bottled drinks are extra tasty (Hermans lemonade if I remember correctly) We'll definitely be going back. Soon.

I had to go to a post office and I was on Prince and when I got out of my car a wonderful smell hit me. I looked around and I saw a little place called Sausage Shop Meat Market. When I finished at the post office I went in, the line was long but I decided to wait. I was looking around and noticed they have all kinds of sandwiches and fresh meat for sell. I did wait for quite a long time before I had my food but once I bit into my sandwich I was so happy it was tender, delicious and was a good size for the price. You have to get your food to go there are no tables or booths to eat in after it is a meat shop. But I recommend you go here, if you don't pick up ready to eat food the meat was some of the best I have ever seen and they have more than beef and pork. They have ham, turkey, duck, etc. You should go check out this hidden treasure.

Where to start? I've been going to the Sausage Shop since 2000, when I was a student at Flowing Wells High School. Their sandwiches are amazing. They use fresh deli meats and cheeses, so everything is sliced right there when you order. My favorite sandwich is the bologna sandwich because it's sliced so thin. There are hot and cold sandwiches there and they're all made to order. Aside from sandwiches, The Sausage Shop features smoked meats for sale. There is also potato salad and various other "sides" that you can have with your sandwich. The store is small and can be crowded around lunchtime, but the staff has always been pleasant. They do their best to get you in and out as quickly as possible. It may seem to be a hole in the wall, but those are sometimes the best places to go to. I highly recommend The Sausage Shop if you're in the neighborhood for a nice sandwich. In fact, the best thing is going there to grab a sandwich, then down the street to Jacob's Park and enjoy the outdoors and your lunch.

The chicken cordon bleu (or however it's spelled) that's wrapped in bacon is unbelievably delicious. Two of us ate well on one piece with side of vegetables and a salad with leftovers good for 1 lunch the next day. Amazing flavor and great value. I've sampled several things and all have been very good. Greats that stand out in my mind are the seafood boudin and Portuguese Linguica. The sandwich I had was amazing too - pulled pork with a hot link and other fixings but don't recall the name - someone's cousin or brother. Anyhow, it was really really good! I had a question on how to prep the boudin after I'd bought it and had an friendly chat and answer the first time I called. My only complaint is that they don't have a shop closer to my side of town.

I am so happy I found this place! I happened to walk in yesterday and was amazed at the cool NY deli feel and love to see all the assortment of sausage for sale. There were so many sandwich options I didn't know where to start. The service was very fast and friendly they suggested 3 of their best sandwiches. The price was good. $6 for a huge sandwich with tons of high quality meat. I also bought a container of spicy pickle chips which were incredible. The favorite sandwich was the Richards Rueben. The marble Rye bread was so soft and tasty and double dekker sandwich at that. So much corn beef and juicy sauerkraut. I got emotional, it was that good. This is a diamond in the rough!

This place is a hidden gem!! I recently discovered this market and am very sad that I did not find it earlier. I went there to get some great sausage for a cook out I was having, so I cannot speak to the sandwiches. The sausage selection is amazing there are over 20 sausages fresh and frozen that you can try. There are three different types of bacon, the peppercorn is delicious side note. They also offer great salami's, cheeses, and sides. The sides include fresh home made pickles, sauerkraut, potato salad, and other good looking choices. Next time you want to grill out some sausages, check out the Sausage Shop!!

If you are the type of person who: A.) Loves phenomenal sandwiches, or B.) is interested in charcuterie, the art of smoking and curing meat You must stop what you are doing and head over to the sausage shop now. Really, RIGHT. NOW. I'll start with a list of just a few of their standout items(keep in mind, these are all 100% homemade in-house), over 50 types of homemade sausage, homemade salamis, multiple types of brats(the green onion variety is my fav, or red zone), chorizo, homemade bacon, smoked pork chops, smoked CHEESES, linguica, boudin(yup, homemade freaking boudin), 10 or so types of pickles, slim-jims, and last but not least, AGED BEEF. They dry age their own choice beef. I know what you meat snobs are thinking, "There's no way it's as good as prime...". WRONG. Take it from me, a guy who has spent hundreds of dollars on prime steaks from Dickman's and Aj's. Sausage shop in-house aged is better. Hands down better. Add to all of this the 50+ types of sandwiches they will freshly make for you using the homemade delicacies I've just mentioned and you have a 5 star establishment. The sausage shop is worth a trip for either its sandwiches or to take home groceries. Give it a try, but beware, it's almost always crowded. With smart people who know of the best place to purchase sausage in Tucson.

In another of my many visits, I discovered yet another one-of-a-kind gem: Chicken Chorizo. Vaca santa! (Holy Cow!) This is mouth-watering and lean and healthy. No excess oil, as with many chorizos. One-third white meat, two thirds dark and perfectly spiced. A must try.

You will not find a better butcher shop in Tucson. Their bacon and brats are outstanding and the sandwiches are wonderful. The line at lunch can be a little long, but it is well worth the wait.

After hearing good thing about this hidden gem I decided to give it a try and Wow! What an awesome deli, the smell of smoked meats hit you in the face as soon as you open the door. The staff is very friend and helpful when ordering from the overwhelming menu of 50 plus sandwiches. After a lot of deliberation I chose the "Tubby" on a jalapeno hoagie roll and my Wife chose the "Ralph" with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut. Both we're very good but I can't wait to go back to taste a different sandwich. It's gunna be hard to find a favorite with all the great sandwiches on the menu. Oh yeah and this place is a full meat market...Awesome!

Awesome choice of meats and sausages. This is a must visit for me when my daughter comes home from school! Have yet to eat a sausage I did not like here. The people who work here are wonderful - helpful, know their meats - and a great place to stop for lunch!

I love hole in the wall mom & pop places..I live meat..I love sandwiches..but honestly, they were just ok..& just slightly above the cut off zone for getting just enough for what you paid for. The bread was also off & honestly, the people seem like they could not care if you were there or not. But I did love their bread & butter pickles!

Unless you are an irredeemable vegetarian, go here. Dont wait, go now. Be prepared to spend some time drooling over the unfathomable number of diffferent bacons trying in vain to make a choice. This place is literally a meat lovers heaven.

How do I possibly put in to words how much I love this place? My boyfriend introduced me to the Sausage Shop and it quickly became one of our favorite places to pick up lunch over the weekend. Each day of the week has a different special, which includes the sandwich of the day, chips and a drink for only $5.00! They have a huge selection -- there has to be at least 50 different sandwich options. The delicious sandwiches are really only the tip of the iceberg of meaty goodness offered by the Sausage Shop. We have purchased their sausages on several occasions and they are always a hit. This place gets quite busy during the lunch hour. But not to fret! It's worth the wait and they move the line along real quick. The owner and employees are great and I get all sorts of warm fuzzies knowing I am supporting an awesome local business.

Finally stopped in after hearing my brother rave about this place forever. Ordered the Santa Fe and it was awesome! One of the best sandwiches I have had in Tucson. Will be back soon!

Best for authentic sausages: Spanish Chorizo, Polish Kielbasa, Italian Sausage and more.

I'm not a big meat eater, but this is the real deal: old fashioned butcher with a bloody apron and dozens of types of in-house sausages. $5 sandwiches on good bread, with obscure natural sodas. What a gem!
