Typical dive bar with cheap beer and greasy food. The service on the other hand was pretty bad, worse then what you expect from a dive bar. The waitress/bar tender must have been new because she was easily flustered when I asked for my coke refill which was empty for 10 minutes. It got to the point that the other waitress had to step in for everything, retaking orders and refilling drinks.

I hope the same ten people keep coming back for soda out of a dirty glass so your business doesn't fail. You seem to be hemorrhaging because your manager has a bad attitude.

This place is great. I came for the AYCE Fish fry, and was not disappointed. The fish was hot, tasty, and flaky. The batter was great, not at all heavy. Looking at the mene they have burgers, dogs, and sandwiches. They also have a variety of fried appetizers to choose from. Need to come back for a burger!

I've probably driven past this place a hundred times, and never really thought to stop in. With two hours to spare before work, I decided that dinner was in order and maybe a beer. The location and its proximity to my work was the deciding factor in coming, however I found myself really enjoying what this place had to offer once inside. Its not the largest of bars, and clearly not the one with the most patrons, but its cozy and friendly and fun. A good selection of beers on tap, and a menu thats a little more than what you'd expect out of a bar including a nightly dinner special which was very tempting. But alas, I was not THAT hungry, and decided to get a basic quesadilla which comes with green chilis, sour cream, and salsa. You can add chicken or beef for like a buck more, but not for me tonight. I accompanied that with a cup of their soup du jour which was a tomato florentine. All of it was very tasty and I had absolutely no complaints. I ordered a shock top to quench my thirst, and then checked in here on yelp. To my surprise and delight, a special deal offer came up on my screen offering that my second beer would only cost 25 cents! Sweet! Showed it to the waitress and everything was copacetic. Quesadilla with all the fixins, cup o' soup, and two shock tops plus tax and tip had me walking out the door for under $15. Thats pretty reasonable as far as Im concerned. The vibe was nice too...good people both behind and drunkenly collapsing on the bar (ok that didnt really happen). I will most definitely be back.

I've been to R Place just once and it was a pretty good experience. It's a little neighborhood bar with a laidback style, almost felt like coming into someone's house. There was karaoke going on in the other room, which is usually just a bland drab of drunk people droning on to songs they are butchering, but it's all in good fun. There are seats out front to have a smoke. Lots of beers on tap, and I think they serve food and even breakfast in the morning. I was a little surprised the bartender could not figure out what a Black and Tan is despite having both a beer tap for a Guinness and Bass and the correct spoon for making one there- I don't think everyone knows how to make it, but if the stuff is there, it's a little suspect. Nice joint to frequent and probably make and meet new friends and they have poker nights too.

This place is really solid. Good food, decent beer selections. Usually a free newspaper laying around. Lunch is about $10 for a burger fries and Coke. Not a bad place to watch a game.

Great burger and beer bar. Very similar to Shooter's, less than a mile away on Prince, and the burgers are equally splendid. We haven't found a better place in Tucson yet to get a juicy fresh burger for the price of a Macdonalds. At $5.99 it is a steal and includeds a side dish, and $2 PBR drafts and other specials on Sunday help.

Try it on a coupon deal, food was awesome got the double "r" burger was hot , fresh an exactly what I expect when I order a burger. Unlike at those "golden archs" places. Owners daughter was friendly as was the manager. They have a play for free poker room , pool tables, darts an lots of tvs to catch the game oh ya am lots of cold beer on tap. Just a nice relaxed place can't wait to go back an try the rest of the menu.

Neighborhood tavern vibe. The belly up to the bar and drink with locals. Years ago it was Blue Sahuaro then Charlie's. Hooks underneath the bar for ladies to hang their purse. Nice touch. Great burgers. Hand formed 1/2# hamburgers. Ordered medium came just right thick and juicy. Standard fixin's lettuce tomato onions pickle spear. Institutional ripple cut frozen fries need an upgrade. Your grandmother was our server. Homey, friendly, prompt. Two cheeseburgers, fries, and three Bud Light pints $21.25 plus tip. A decent value. Want a good burger and a beer? Try R Place. If you don't, places like this will vanish forever. Of the dozen great burger from my formative years, less than a handful remain today. Just didn't go often enough and regret it.
