Honestly I did love the food. It was all very good, great flavor, well cooked. Oysters for appetizer were good, went down easy. Salad with salmon was awesome, I ate the entire thing. My finace wasn't able to finish his whole steak because it was so big and he got full on bread, salad and drinks. The reason for my 2 star review is the atmosphere. This place is pricey, it's a typical steakhouse with steakhouse prices which we expected but we also expected a high class environment. They seem to always keep the front door wide open to the casino, which was very loud! There were people playing slots 30 feet away that were screaming and celebrating and yelling, and I couldn't hear Ben talking! It was like the sound echoed into the restaurant. Also the lighting is way to bright. Sitting there over a romantic dinner I couldn't help but feel it was inappropriately bright, the kitchen is open and all their light streams out into the dining area. Also the dining room lighting is just too much, maybe they can dim it more. And how it is so open, it could almost be a traditional diner, the way it looks all wide open with tables at an angle and close together, only a few booths which had low backs so you can see everyone sitting in every seat in the whole place. Just not a good place to go for a nice quiet romantic steak house dinner.

The restaurant has a light, airy feel to it -- the decor is bright and welcoming, though there is somewhat of a formal aura to this place. I felt I should be wearing gem-encrusted stiletto heels with a formal dress. Incidentally, the establishment has no formal dress code. There were folks wearing the range -- suits, mini skirts, baggy jeans. Quite the compilation. Everything seems textured -- the floor, the walls, the semi-thick tablecloth. This is a place that pulls on all senses. We were greeted to a very warm welcome and promptly seated in the private dinning room. Not sure why -- we didn't request it. But it was nice, quiet with a nice view of the racks of wine. Our servers were very attentive, but not in that annoying way. We promptly received our menus, water and, soon thereafter, an amuse-bouche. What fun. It was a lobster-shrimp ceviche with celery and mangoes (at least from what we could gather). Very fresh and light. A perfect start. We ordered two appetizers -- the crab cake and the tuna sandwiches -- and went for the fixed menu which, at $40 per person, was quite the decadent yet reasonably priced meal. The appetizers alone were quite filling. An amazing display, and not at all skimpy with the crab. The tuna sandwiches were served with seared tuna and a light, spicy sauce. Just delicious! We both went for the filet, which was like butter and came with a nicely ornate display of stacked potatoes. We also received a sampling of gourmet salts and a host of sauces. All very, very tasteful. For drinks, we started with Cambria's Chardonnay, then went with a bottle of Klinker Brick's Zinfandel and also shared a glass of Dom Perignon (with an amazing special going for $20 per glass). For dessert -- the lava cake and the crème brûlée. Both stellar presentations. It really was a magnificent treat! I am looking forward to my next visit. Why not five stars, then? The only complaint was that the tv was tuned to the game mid-way through our dinner. That seemed such a contrast to the amazing mood that had already been set. And while the service was fantastic, you do get a feel that the staff is still in training. Seriously, nothing so egregious that I would not come back. I will be raving about this place.

My wife bought the living social deal so we decided to have a night out at the casino with dinner. This place was an incredible find! We started with appetizers of oysters and a salad. The oysters were surprisingly delicious, a great start to the meal. We both went with the 6oz filet with the truffle mac & cheese and baked potato. All was incredible, cooked perfectly and mouthwateringly delicious. The wine list was extensive and the restaurant has a sommelier to assist with your decision which was fun talking through our choice and pairing with our dinner choice. Overall we had a fabulous time and dinner was delicious, we will definitely be going back again soon.

Food was delicious, had the ribeye you get four different steak sauces and sides are big enough for two people to share. Had cheese cake for dessert which I don't recommend, so save your ten dollars and the service was a bit slow for really slow night. We were given water and never ask if we wanted anything else to drink.

PY Steakhouse is pretty good. The people are always friendly and the food is fantastic. My Girlfriend said the Lobster Tail was pretty good as well. Our Server started off slow, however by the end she worked her way up to a great Server. Food great, overpriced but great. The ambience is really nice as well. Go on to Living Social before coming out here, save yourself $40, just a tip. Give them a try if you happen to be out this way.

We recently went to PY Steakhouse for a special occasion, and I'm so glad this is where we chose to go! I was skeptical at first because of its location in the casino, but that ended up not mattering at all. We parked at the casino entrance and walked through the casino. This actually isn't necessary because PY is located right at the lobby of the hotel, so if you don't want to go through the casino, park there. The signage for PY was completely lacking, otherwise that's what we would have done off the bat. When we got to the host stand, we were greeted promptly and kindly, and seated immediately at a very comfortable table. The dining room itself is small and intimate. It is very clean and decorated very nicely. It's very warm, inviting, and it has an upscale feel to it. We were greeted with water almost immediately. Our waitress, Ashleigh, followed soon after. She was great throughout the entire meal. She was personable and answered all of our questions, and we had a few since it was our first time at PY. She was enthusiastic about the food, and was quick to explain all of the ingredients. My husband and I both ordered a glass of wine. They were both fine. I had the Acacia chardonnay, which was good. Unlike some restaurants, PY actually chills their white wines to a very pleasant level, which I appreciated very much! We both ordered the 6oz. filet mignon. With the steaks, we ordered a side of mac and cheese and the green chile au gratin potatoes. Before the meal came, however, we were offered plenty of fresh and delicious bread and breadsticks with honey butter. We were also offered an amuse-bouche compliments of the chef. It had Asian pear, cucumber, onion, and some other fresh ingredients. It was a great palate cleanser since it was fresh and refreshing. Soon after, our steaks and side dishes arrived. The steak was plated so attractively! On the plate with it was some onion straws, a crustino, and bone marrow. Neither of us have ever had bone marrow, so we were a little skeptical, but Ashleigh described it to us in a way that helped us overcome our fear of the unknown. I put my big girl pants on and gave it a try. It was warm and buttery, and I understand why people like it, but in the end, it wasn't for me. Still, it is a very nice addition to the plate! The filets themselves were cooked perfectly. They were tender and flavorful. Brought to the table with them were a variety of salts and sauces. The steak didn't need any of this, but when presented with such options, who can resist? There was a chimichurri sauce, a tomato based sauce, a prickly pear glaze, and a classic bernaise. I thought the prickly pear glaze was absolutely to die for! I couldn't get enough of it. It was a little sweet, a little salty, but yet not overpowering for the steak. It was just a wonderful addition! The mac and cheese was good, but not the most awesome mac and cheese I've ever had. That said, I wish places in the center of town that offer mac and cheese made theirs this good! The au gratin potatoes, on the other hand, were AMAZING! The potatoes were tender. They were loaded with flavorful, melty, yummy cheese! The green chiles added a nice flavor to cut through some of the fat of the cheese and cream in the potatoes. I have been actively craving these potatoes since the minute I cleared the plate of them, they were so good! To finish our meal, we had the flourless cake. It had a saffron anglaise, cream cheese ice cream, and a passion fruit coulis. The coulis was was served in a little dropper to drip over your dessert as you see fit. I tried all the parts individually, and none were really compelling to me. But when eaten together in a composed bite, the dessert was actually quite good! I might not order it again next time because there are a lot of other desserts I'd like to try, but if this was all they had to order, I would like to eat it. Overall, our meal was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and classy. It was perfect for a night out to celebrate a special occasion! We will definitely be going back!

This place has become one of the best steak restaurants in Tucson. Owned and Operated by the Pascua Yaqui tribe - the restaurant is in Casino Del Sol. A pretty neat casino (bit smokey though). The wait staff was very very good. Fast, efficient there is none better that I have experienced. I had the rack of lamb - wow! It was great. Other folks had prime rib, salmon and a couple of other dishes. Everyone enjoyed their meal (I think the lamb was the best though). They have a happy hour until like 6P with 1/2 off whiskeys. They have lots of whiskeys and wines that range to very reasonable to some very expensive wines (more than I would ever order). Watch out for the Living Social Deals - best way to try this amazing restaurant.

Kevin is one of the best for sure. He welcomed our group like family. His recommendations for the lobster tail were spot on. A round of cocktails went down smooth

Great for once in a awhile. Not the the best steak I have ever had, but in the top three for sure. Service is great. Not much more say. The bar outside is wonderful as well. Great cocktails. I will go back.

Discovered thanks to a Living Social deal (spend $40, get $80 at the steakhouse) - Bargain city! This is a spendier, upscale steakhouse in the del Sol Casino outside of Tucson. We had a fantastic dinner with terrific service and lovely ambiance. Everything we tried was delightful. The escargot was tasty, garlicky, and tender. The salads were beautifully presented with crazy flavors (wedge salad with avocado puree...honeycrisp apple and basil - genius!). We each ordered a 6 oz filet - and they were absolutely perfectly cooked. I like a blue rare steak but very rarely order one in a restaurant because places rarely get it right - it's always either overcooked or totally raw. But no! PY did blue rare just right - Perfecto! All of the side dishes were tasty, too - and easily shareable amongst three of us. The white cheddar and jalapeno creamed corn, the lobster mac n' cheese, and the green chile and bacon au gratin potatoes were all so flavorful, rich, and filling. I can't wait to head back to the desert and visit again

Terrible! I ordered the Bone In Rib Eye Medium and it was extremely Rare. Instead of taking it back and making me a new one they took the one I had sliced open and overcooked it to well done. That is such an amateur move. I was so upset but I was with a group of friends so I decided to eat it anyways. The service was poor and the sides were not worth the cost. I was really disappointed in the overall experience. I can understand if we were at a casual diner but for a Steakhouse to deliver such disappointed results is not acceptable. I would avoid this place at all cost.

We were staying at the hotel for my wife's birthday and decided to stop in for some late evening drinks. This place is very intimate and elegant. We sat at the bar in the entryway and were just envious of all the beautiful plates on the tables inside the restaurant. For being such a swanky place, the appetizers and drinks were very reasonable. I think the beers were $4 and it was $6 for a cocktail. The Bartender was fantastic. He really made us feel welcome. As did Chef Jesse, who came out and introduced himself and talked to us about the PY dishes. All that being said, I would have rated my experience 5 Stars. The reason for the 4 stars is the Entree pricing. (Even though this place is elegant and all....And I did not eat here..I feel they should have been at least 20% less.) ie: 32oz CAB PY Bone in Rib Eye Chop (for 2) 68 10oz CAB Filet Mignon 42 BUT....When you consider no Tax on the Reservation, and the cheap drinks..? I will be here next week and order the $21 New York. :)

Excellent fillet Mignon, excellent cabrilla, excellent lobster soup, it was our 27th Wedding Anniversary however and we made a reservation, but were seated at a small two top table which barely accommodated all our food and drinks, when there were plenty of other open tables (4 tops and booths) which I would have preferred, especially since it was a Thursday evening, and not a busy one. When we left the four tops were still empty, which really was upsetting! Chef Eric is exceptional though!

Yummy!!! The food was great. Not only do I recommend the steak but their salmon was cooked perfectly. Nice place to have a romantic dinner.

I must admit that I like to gamble and have been to some of the best Steakhouses at casinos around the world, yet I've not been compelled to review one before on Yelp. PY Steakhouse is just off the lobby of the Casino Del Sol hotel. It's crisp white interior with elegant contemporary lighting and cool colors make for quite an inviting entrance. The hostess was delightful and we were quickly greeted by our server Ashley who took our order for cocktails and made menu suggestions. We were impressed. We started with the Seafood Sampler, A selection of crab claws, oysters, shrimp and ceviche with side sauces. Fresh from the sea and perfectly prepared. I followed that with the Seared Wild Pacific Salmon with parsnip puree, brussel sprout leaves and jalepeno bacon lardons. Absolutely delicious. My mouth is watering now just remembering the perfect combination of flavors and textures. My dinner guest had the Seared Jumbo Scallops with English pea risotto. The scallops had a magnificent sear on just one side and were perfectly tender and juicy. Chef Erik Savin visited our table and I asked him to share his searing secret with me. He graciously explained his process, which was unlike any other I had heard from a chef before. His passion for cooking was obvious and it translated into every course, including a selection of magnificently presented deserts that ended our meal. I should also mention that the restaurant's sommelier, Desiree, helped us choose wine for each course. She's extremely knowledgeable and just added that extra touch that made the evening perfect. I'm adding PY Steakhouse to my list of all-time favorite steakhouses and expect to visit again soon.

Best dining experience hands down! We had Grayson as our server and he killed it with wine/dessert selections! I had the scallops with shrimp on the side for dinner and paired it with a delicious pinot gris. The other meal was a bonein rib eye steak and it was cooked medium rare perfectly. (The only temp this should be ordered at!) Grayson asked all the right questions to be able to deliver the best option for wines and they paired perfectly. Both white and red selections were great. We ended up with dessert which is rare and it was delicious. I am not a cheesecake fan but i absolutely loved it. This is a 5 star dining experience.

RECOMMEND: Find the $80 for $40 Groupon/Living Social deal and then go on a Wednesday night (as of May 2015) for their $20 Special (10oz Prime rib w/ grilled veggies and loaded baked potato). FOOD: 5/5 The food was delicious. Ordered the pork belly and fried calamari appetizer. Pork Belly melts in your mouth and is rich in flavor. The fried calamari was a bit disappointing in flavor but if you add some hot sauce or something, you can bring back the dish. SERVICE: 5/5 The server was extremely friendly and catered very well to all our needs. She checked back frequently to make sure everything was okay and that our water/drinks were filled. DECOR/AMBIANCE: 5/5 It's a lavish casino restaurant, why would it be anything less?

Foie Gras, bone marrow, ribeye, wedge salad and a nice Petite Syrah along with excellent service made this a 5 star meal. Best food I've had in Tucson. Also a great value for what I spent.

This is our second visit to PY steakhouse. Our first visit was definitely 4-5 stars, a year ago, but sadly this experience was lacking. We came with a 7pm reservation on a Saturday night, were seated by a lovely young lady, and taken care of initially by an awesome server who got our water and bread quickly. Then came our actual server to get our drink order. I was in the middle of ordering a whiskey flight when she abruptly walked away. About 10 minutes later, she returned, with the flight, and casually asked if we wanted anything else. We were so confused! It was awkward and she totally failed to acknowledge why she walked away in the middle of the order. So we shake that off, and order another cocktail (the rest of our initial drink order). She brings back that cocktail (the celebrity chef- way delicious) after another 10 minutes, and finally asks if we would like any appetizers. Long story short, she came back THREE times to confirm our order because "she forgot." That's weird for a 5 star restaurant, right? She was so blasé, it was like being served at a buffet. So the food. We ordered the caprese salad, the sea bass entree, and sides of the au gratin potatoes (on the servers recommendation) and ratatouille. The salad's heirloom tomatoes were super mealy, the sea bass was under seasoned and a little over cooked despite its excellent sear, and the potatoes had been cooked so long that the cheese was burnt into an unappetizing char throughout the dish. Presentation was lovely, of course, but overall the dishes were almost all disappointing. I really hope this was an off night for PY, because it was so promising the last time we came!

How have I missed this place? We were at the Casino for a concert last week and while roaming around we noticed PY Steakhouse. After looking at the menu and later checking the reviews, we decided to give it a try. I haven't had great prime rib in a long time so the Wednesday night special sounded like a good option. We made a reservation and arrived on time. We were seated almost immediately. The service was wonderful from the start and throughout. Our server made suggestions and answered questions. She gave us just the right amount of attention. I was intrigued by the sound of the escargot and I wasn't disappointed. The escargot were not stuffed back into shells as they commonly are. They were in a sauce of pernod, creamy pistou, and micro fennel and accompanied by toasted baguettes. My boyfriend commented more than once that if the appetizer was just the sauce and toasted bread it would have been well worth it because it was so delicious. My boyfriend ordered the wedge salad, which I sampled and it was wonderful. Everything was fresh and instead of serving a quarter of a head of lettuce, there were three smaller wedges, all perfectly topped with Maytag bleu cheese, bacon, heirloom cherry tomatoes, avocado puree, boiled egg, and scallions. It was a generous serving and it was delicious. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the bread. Just after we were seated we received a basket of bread. There were three types of small rolls; sourdough, pretzel, and a jalapeno cheese. It also included savory bread sticks and it was served with honey butter. We ordered a bottle of Cabernet with our prime rib entrees. Our server asked us if we would like to order the $4 glass that came with the special and when we declined, she brought us a sample just to be sure since it was less expensive. When our entrees arrived they were impressive. The prime rib was cooked to perfection. I ordered mine rare and although it was rare and as soft as butter in the middle, the edges were slightly crisp and perfectly seasoned. It practically melted in my mouth. It was served with grilled brussel sprouts that had other vegetables mixed with them. They were not over cooked so they were firm and flavorful. The dinner also came with a loaded baked potato. It had sea salt on the outside of the skin and it had butter, sour cream, bacon, cheese, and green onion in the fold. It was not excessive, they put enough of everything on it so you could taste it all without losing the potato in the toppings. I don't particularly like dessert but my boyfriend does and he couldn't resist trying the 99% Chocolate flourless cake. He liked it so much he was able to convince me to try it even though I didn't think I could eat another bite. I confess, I am happy I did. It was decadent and rich enough that one bite was enough for me. We took the advice of other reviewers and purchased the Living Social deal and almost felt guilty using it because even the price before the coupon was reasonable and well worth it. We were already talking about when we would like to go back on the way home!

Our waiter was awesome and was very accommodating. The chef Erik was excellent in delivering us the perfect vegetarian dish upon request. Based on other yelp reviews we decided to give this spot a try and it didn't disappoint. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal in the area.

My wife and I love this place. The bartender is one of the best in Tucson. Great mixed drinks and wonderful appetizers. The salmon is really good. My wife had the 6oz steak and loved it. Make sure and call in a reservation. We unfortunately did not and are at the bar, but the bartender was great! This is a pretty pricey place, but you definitely get what you pay for. We will be coming back.

I must only assume that there was much drinking y previous guests who rated this restaurant 4 stars. The service was wonderful and they do try to create a high touch class experience. The food however leaves very much to be desired. They have to figure out how to cook a steak to a proper temperature, not one of them was correct. The brussel sprouts were hard. The carpaccio and tartare appetizer was warm which is always a no no. The tartare was not ground as it should be rather than just looking like chopped steak and the capers on the carpaccio were way overdone. I would not return, I would recommend making the trek out to the hills and hit Sullivans or Flemings. One of my favorite moments of the night (sarcasm) was when I asked the server if the lobster special that was being served were spiny lobsters (aka Caribbean Lobsters.) The chef sent the server back to the table to inform me that all lobsters have spines. That response should have set my sights on a less then stellar experience. Again, the service was great but the food did not live up to the cost or meet to the experience they were trying to create. Save your money and move on.

So many choices, too small of a stomach! Loved everything we tried- the ribeye, mushrooms, spinach and holy cow the green chili bacon scalloped potatoes! Definitely coming back! The staff was wonderful and helpful as we were first timers.

We have been to Flemings, Sullivans, McMahons and PY in Tucson. Also have visited Prime, Cut and Carnevino in LV. Although theres not one of the LV restaurants that i can compare PY to, i can in fact compare PY to the tucson restaurants. PY is nowhere near the quality of any of those LV restaurants but then again, how could they be. I only mentioned them to help my opinion matter to the person looking for a good steakhouse in Tucson. Because reviews can be so opinionated i feel my steakhouse experience may help lol. PY is by far the best quality steakhouse in Tucson. If you really like a good quality steak, this is one of the best. I say "one of the best" because Flemings is way up there on that Tucson list as well. Keep in mind, there have been some temperature mistakes with our steaks in the past but the quality of steak has always been pretty good. I would highly recommend this restaurant and it has been our "go to" spot for some good quality steaks

PY was great, with good food and imaginative dishes served by waitstaff proud to be serving. We went with the night's special, a NY strip-for-two with shared salad and shared desert. The wedge salad was a hit. Entree came with lobster-mashed potatoes and delicious green beans. Soufflé finished it all off nicely. Highly recommended. We'll definitely go back.

This place has been getting worse with each trip. Not a smile on anybody's face and the food is not worth the pretty penny. Not to mention, they refused my living social coupon and told me it had been redeemed when it has not!

We had a delectable dinner with excellent service. The lobster tail was out if this world, sweet and cooked to perfection. Ribeye steak was so tender it melted in your mouth. We shared the calamari appetizer and it was sensational. The warm bread was a variety of choices and quite tasty. We will definitely be back to try two different selections from their menu.

My husband and I just got back from dinner at PY. I was underwhelmed for the most part. There's a brand new menu and therefore, no specials were being offered. I always love trying the specials. My husband ordered a filet. It arrived a little overcooked and dry. Medium rare-medium should not have a gray ring around it. Oh, for a bit of juice to be found... Thankfully, PY's steaks come with four sauces -- three of which are delicious -- and slathered in these, the steak was okay. He ordered a side ($8; everything here is a la carte) of jalapeño & cheese creamed corn. The corn was al dente, very firm, especially for creamed corn. And the large slices of jalapeño overwhelmed the flavor of the dish. This dish would be much better served with green chiles for some nice spice that still lends itself to comfort food. I ordered the chicken. It was a $26 chicken dish and boy, was it disappointing. For that price, you get the world's tiniest breast and a leg attached to a fraction of thigh. It suffered from a lack of seasoning, but they bring three versions of salt to the table for you to try and try them I did. Stealing some of my husband's steak sauces also made it palatable. The worst part was that every bit of the chicken skin was soggy. When I mentioned it to our very nice server, she asked: "You don't like your skin like that?" I said: "I'm sorry, but nobody likes wet chicken skin." It was served atop a bed of mashed potatoes, skinny green beans, a scant amount of mushrooms and bit of sauce and I must say, all of that was well-prepared and delicious -- even though there wasn't a whole lot of it. I asked for more of their delicious bread and ate it with my meal; had I not, however, I am certain I would have left hungry. These are not expensive ingredients; the least you can do is serve enough of them. I'm sorry, but for $80 before tip (my husband had two beers and I had iced tea), this should have been a memorable dinner for all the right reasons, not the wrong ones. One of my stars is for the serving staff. One is for the talented pastry chef; every one of her breads were tasty and moist, and the dessert tray looked amazing, although I did not try it. The other three stars would be for the main meal and I can't justify awarding them. There are other steak houses in this town that -- for the same price or less -- serve better food, ample food, and leave you with that nice, satisfied feeling that eating at a good restaurant should.

My fiancé took me for dinner this weekend. I have to say it was the best service I ever had! The server was young man he was on point from the beginning of our service to the end. I truly enjoyed how much etiquette he had with us he wanted us to leave happy and we did. I really enjoyed how the chef came to bring us our foo, he explained what the sauces were for the steaks which was nice. I will defiantly go back

Let me first say that my steak was 5 stars and but my husband ordered the special, which was salmon. When our plates came, he said, "I have to admit I'm jealous." He was fine with it, but I had to share my 22 oz. aged cowboy rib eye, medium rare with truffle butter. 5 sauces also come with the steak to try, which was interesting, but it was great on its own. I ordered the chili scalloped potatoes, which were good as well. I had more of the steak the next day, plently left even with sharing. Pared with the house zinfandel and it was the perfect meal for me! Be sure you have a reservation, otherwise be prepared to lose some money at the casino while you wait! As everywhere, AZ casual is seen, but try to dress a little better for this place and wear your big boy pants!

Been twice and all I can say is for the price and pretend pretentiousness it's just not all that worth it. First visit was the husband and I. We both got a glass of wine, Sonoran Caesar (decent), Iceberg Salad (basically a wedge salad that was also decent) and split the big T-bone (adequate but the infused salts/house-made steak sauces upped it a couple of notches). Actually to be honest, the whole reason for going was BECAUSE of the salts/sauces. My husband heard about them in a review and he goes nuts over that stuff so... We also ordered the Red Dragon mac & cheese and Gorgonzola mashed potatoes. Sides must be ordered separately. Both were good. Service was good and attentive for the most part. Nice perks were the water garnishes (your choice of lemon, lime or cucumbers) and an amuse bouche (yes, I'm easily amused). Next visit was 6 of us and again, all dishes (escargot, dates, a filet, ribeye, chicken, scallops and lamb) were good but not fine dining quality. All 6 of us seemed to have the same opinion. I think the least favored dish of that visit was the chicken which was super salty and accompanied by a harvest bread pudding which was rock hard and cold. Most favored dish was the lamb which was nicely cooked. Service that night was adequate although we had to request above mentioned water garnishes and salt/sauces (blasphemy!!). Servers do not exactly have that fine dining finesse but that's really not a big deal to me. But at an average of almost $60 per person, I do expect the food to be spectacular and not just good/adequate.

Wow! I don't know much about fancy, but I know what delicious food and great service is. Sommeliers and bartenders are friendly and spot on. Every staff member made me feel welcome and special. They also knew what they were selling and serving, which is delectable appetizers, great drinks, perfectly prepared steaks as well as a fun and comfortable atmosphere. Not stuffy at all!! I recommend the Escargot(first time I've ever had it, great) Calamari salad and NY strip. PY has got to be put on the Tucson map with 47 Scott & Maynard's! It is on the pricey side, but definitely worth it!

Ate here during our recent stay in the resort and was seriously impressed with the joint. The dining room is much smaller than I expected, but they deliver great service and awesome food. They have Steak & Tapas on the menu. Here's what I ordered: Tapas Chorizo, $4 Jalapeno Bacon Wrapped Dates, $4 Manchego Cheese, $4 Main Course Gorgonzola Mashed Potatoes, $5 10 oz Filet - $38 The Tapas were very good, especially the Jalapeno Bacon Wrapped Dates. A spicy twist on the Bacon Wrapped Dates concept, they are full of flavor. I could eat a large plate of these all day long...ha! The Filet was cooked just the way I like it, with just a little pink in the center. It was very tasty. The Gorgonzola Mashed Potatoes are ridiculous....how come I haven't thought of that before?! I love Gorgonzola Cheese and to make Mashed Potatoes with it is pure genius! I'm jonesing for them right now... The service was impeccable. When 2 friends joined us late into the dinner because they were in the casino gambling, they didn't miss a step. They easily adapted to this situation and made us feel comfortable. Next trip to Tucson it will be on the list. Return Factor - 90%

There is an old guard dog barking at us when we want to enter the place. The dog, surprisingly, could talk and said no seating without reservation. I looked at it and was almost slapped it. The place was empty except for one table. Really? Will never return to this place again. I then rain into a manager from work and she said the place has rude service and overpriced food, DO NOT GO!

This restaurant is horrible their salads are horrible and they complained of how we disposed of gum (in a cloth napkin, vice a paper one) their food, vegetables and bread is below average, don't waste your time

My family had been wanting to try the Wednesday prime rib special at PY for quite some time and we finally did. We had our usual server, Ashleigh, who was fantastic as always. One of the good bartenders must have been working last night, because my Negronita was sheer perfection! PY also has a wine special on Wednesday, $4.00 a glass. The featured red was an excellent Zinfandel. I'm usually more of a Merlot or Cabernet fan, but this was smooth and delicious. We were given an amuse bouche, compliments of the chef, of white cheddar, salami and apples drizzled with a honey sauce. Absolutely delicious. We dearly wished that we could have had a bowl instead of tasting spoons. We all had the special which consists of prime rib, a loaded baked potato and seasonal vegetables. We were finally given the salts that everyone talks about! By far, the favorite was the black truffle salt. The prime rib was melt in your mouth tender and cooked to perfection. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and the bacon had to have been freshly fried. They were probably the best baked potatoes we've ever had out. The vegetables were a sautéed mix of zucchini, carrots and squash which were prepared so well that they were a well appreciated addition. For dessert, my daughters shared the chocolate lava cake with vanilla bean gelato. I managed to get one bite and it was heavenly! Definitely the best dessert we've had at PY and that's saying a lot. It was a lovely dining experience from start to finish. Our next plan is an all seafood dinner! Another review in the making....

Went to dinner here with a total of six people last night (4/09/15).... Server was awesome but food left a lot to be desired. The table behind us sent their steaks back and right then I was hoping we wouldn't have any issues but we did. I ordered the 10oz lobster tail at MP which was $52....the tail had absolutely no seasoning at all and was pure white like it had been boiled in water and put on the plate. It had no grill marks or color of any kind. If I'm gonna go to a steak house and pay $52 for a lobster tail, I would expect it to be something that I couldn't do at home myself...this thing was just white and disappointing.....my friend ordered the 6oz filet as medium rare and it came out more like medium well and dry like it had sat under a heat lamp and was killed twice over....we waited 2 hours for our entrees and at an average of $80 per person with drinks, the service and food should be impecible in my opinion. The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because our waitress was really nice and apologetic but I will not be back. Save your $$$ and eat elsewhere

Okay let me start by saying I have been to many steakhouses...Flemings, Sullivans, Ramsay's Steak in Vegas, Donovans and more. You can get a very nice steak here for a fair price. Watch Living Social for the voucher to really score. Bone in ribeye is flavorful and the T bone is also very good. My wife always orders a filet. Salads are really done well here and always nice and cold. Sides I recommend are the au gratin potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus and the vegetable medly. I do wish they would offer some broc like Mortons but I can get by with the others. They now offer some cuts of beef that are prime and a few that are aged. Pay attention to the menu if you are looking only for that prime marbled melt in your mouth cut of meat. I have been eating here for about 2 years now and have been keeping it under wraps but now the secret is out. The kitchen is open and I see the same faces on the line and this makes me happy as well. Also another plus is no tax here.

One of our favorite restaurants in Tucson! The food and the service is always great and the prime rib special on Wednesday nights is an awesome deal. They recently offered a Living Social deal of $35 for $70 worth of food and we went for their prime rib special and had a three course meal for two, including tip, for $50!

Excellent food. My steak was perfectly cooked, mid-rare seems so difficult for most restaurants, PY nailed it, perfect. Sides were generous for the price and tasty. Wine list is good, not a lot of by the glass options and our server was not well versed on the wines (she did get us someone who was). The cocktails are unique and tasty. Overall an excellent experience, just wish it was closer to our house. The meal was one of the best I have had in Tucson.

The food was great. Atmosphere was excellent. The service was slow but tolerable. When I pulled about an 18 inch hair out of my mouth that was attached to a piece of bread my assistant server cringed but said nothing. When I told my main server she said "the bread is free". When I spoke with a manager he said "I have no blonds who work here with long hair." I wont be back!!!

After reading the recent review in the Arizona Daily Star azstarnet.com/entertainm… , I decided that my family should give this place a shot. I'll say this, it's the best steakhouse near Casino Del Sol, but as far as Tucson goes, this place doesn't cut it! The service was average, but the food is what didn't cut it for me. I ordered the short ribs. They were dry. The flavor was okay, but I don't think that short ribs should be dried out. My wife ordered the Cioppino. The crab and seafood in the stew was overcooked and dried out. Mother in law and son both ordered steaks which they said were both tasty and cooked perfectly and tasty. Wish I had ordered a steak! for an appetizer we had the Calamari, and while it was served almost like a salad, it was crispy and not chewy. We liked it, but I would have preferred some tentacles instead of all rings. The lobster & smoked corn chowder was a loser in my opinion, very dark thick salty broth, but wasn't what I expected. If you're looking for a dark stew that's salty, this may be for you, I wasn't impressed. The best side was the Bacon Smash potatoes. Very tasty, creamy and delicious. Overall, for a restaurant that wasn't very busy, the service was below average - we had to ask for drink refills multiple times. Considering they had a wine steward, it was surprising how inattentive they were. In general, I won't say this place is bad, and unfortunately, no one in my party was interested in escargot or foie gras which is what interested me in the first place, so hopefully those dishes are winners, but the food & service didn't knock it out of the ballpark for me. We cancelled reservations for five palms to go here, so I think I might have made a mistake. Flemings, even though it's a chain, outshines PY any day of the week. Maybe its just too soon, and the management will improve over time, but IMO PY isn't ready for Tucson yet.

FAST review: Food 3/5: Started off with cornbread crusted crab cake. Twas tasty, with lots of crab meat. They have specials apparently on prime rib. It's a good deal, considering you get vegetables, a baked potato, and 10 oz prime rib for 20 bucks. Everything else on the menu that comes from a cow is going to lighten you wallet, so just be prepared. Meat was a little too chewy and tough to cut (it was ordered medium-rare). Definitely not the most tender prime rib I've ever had. Wife got Jumbo shrimp, which were apparently good, but since I didn't try any, cannot make judgements. For dessert - got the chocolate lava cake. Decadently decent. One thing that stood out was my cocktail. I ordered one of the whiskey based drinks, and they definitely aim for creative and sophisticated. I really enjoyed the huge block of ice in my drink, which didn't end up watering down the drink too much, yet gave it the chill it needed. Ambiance 4/5: Surprisingly as soon as you step in you kind of forget you were just out getting cigarette smoke in your face at the casino. Not too large a room, but at the same time airy. They even crumb the table for you (or de-crumb I should say). Service 4/5: Friendly and attentive, but very slow to start. Supposedly it was because a Tex-Mex star was dining there that night with a large group. Total Impression 4/5: If it wasn't so far from where I live, I would consider this place for a special occasion. But honestly the prime rib at Texas Roadhouse was as good or better. Next time I would check out their other beef cuts.

Re-visit 11/5/14 (previous review dated 7/5/13) for Wednesday night Prime Rib dinner. We started with 2 appetizers, a shrimp cocktail with a chipotle accented dipping sauce and mesquite smoked pork belly served with Asian pear chutney, jalapeno bacon and grits. Both were good. The prime rib is 10oz, just the right size and very lean. It is served with a herb flavored au jus and horseradish sauce. Fresh horseradish available on request. It is accompanied by a fully dressed baked potato and seasonal vegetables. The meat was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. As part of the Prime Rib deal, you can purchase a red or white wine for $4/glass, regularly $11. It was a decent California cabernet. For dessert we tried the Crème Brule and Granny Smith Apple Tart. Both were excellent. The only reason we did not believe this worthy of 5 stars was the service. It was intermittent. When they were around, it was outstanding; however there were times when we waited a bit long for the next plate or to have them cleared from the table. That said, I would highly recommend and will dine there again.

One of my regular dining companions wanted to try this place and made a reservation, I've had some fairly unpleasant dining experiences at Sol Casinos in the past so I was a bit skeptical, but decided to see what this new restaurant, attached to the hotel had to offer. Other reviewers have accurately discussed the atmosphere of the restaurant, so I will just concentrate on our food and experience. We were greeted and seated very promptly by the general manager who was extremely welcoming. Our server arrived promptly and explained the day's specials before taking drink orders. Bread and breadsticks arrived at about the same time as our drinks and our server returned to see if we were ready to order. The pace of service is relaxed but I didn't find it sluggish or lethargic as other reviewers have indicated. There was only one service faux pax, which is the reason the restaurant doesn't get five stars from me. Each of us, three diners, had an appetizer. One friend ordered the Ceaser and the rest of us ordered the Corn Chowder. The Ceasar arrived well before the Corn Chowder. I commented to my companions that the appetizers should have arrived together and the fact that they had not was a sizable faux pax for an upscale restaurant charging these prices. I don't think I was overheard by the staff, but shortly after I mentioned this to my companions our waitress appeared with a busser carrying two soups in tow. She apologized that the soups had been missed and indicated they should have come out with the Ceasar (nice save!). Both the Ceasar and the soups were very good. Our entrees arrived (Veal, Buffalo, and Halibut). Each was superb and perfectly prepared. Throughout the evening the staff was attentive without being intrusive. We were visited by the manager twice, by the chef once, and our wait staff did an excellent job of keeping things filled/cleared. I definitely want to return to this restaurant and try more of their offerings. The food is superb and it appear they're getting a handle on the service issues that earlier reviewers have noted.

I stayed at the Casino Del Sol over Thanksgiving, and both my wife and I were craving some steak. We are very glad we decided to stop at PY Steakhouse - it was a meal to remember. First off - I want to get the bad out of the way so that I can focus on the many delightful experiences at PY. There was only one thing that we did not quite like at PY, and for some this might be a dealbreaker - my steak, a ribeye cut, was slightly dry. It seemed rather lean for what is usually a fatty cut, and it is my suspicion that the steak used at this establishment is not prime. You will notice also that nowhere on the menu does it state that they use prime beef, but since even within prime category steaks vary in quality, it could boil down to luck (although presumably the cuts would be verified by the chef). Also by no means did we think that the steak was of unacceptable quality, but there was no getting around the fact that it was slightly dry. Now to the good parts. The service, it has to be said, was phenomenal. The waiters never left us wanting for anything, our needs were telepathically addressed, and the staff seemed genuinely concerned about our dining experience. Genuine and warm are the best words to describe the service, five stars here. My wife had a spinach salad which was pretty much a standard spinach salad, which she enjoyed. Since I was at a casino, I had the oysters casino which was excellent. The oysters were fresh, the bacon was crispy,... and well it's oysters casino, how can you screw it up? That being said the presentation was very nice (it was served over a bed of sea salt) and the ingredients top notch. My wife doesn't normally like oysters but she enjoyed this appetizer as well. The chef surprised us with a palate cleanser which is kinda rare at a steakhouse (normally what you'd expect more from a fancy dining establishment) and then the steaks arrived. My wife's filet was done to perfection. My ribeye was the right temperature and was a very generous portion. The five sauces (presented at the side) was a nice touch although honestly I did not think the steaks needed any of them. My wife liked the Bearnaise, and I prefered the Chimichurri, but again, au natural would be best IMO. The garlic mashed potatoes (side dish) were excellent. Curiously, the steaks were served with marrow, which was different but entirely too fatty for us after an already rich meal, so we mostly left them alone. Overall, this steak house tries to hit above its grade level and mostly succeeds. It doesn't quite compare with the very best steak houses we have been to in terms of steak quality, but the overall experience and ambience is amazing.

Everyone has described this place in detail already, so I will just review our experience. Arrived and sat promptly, with all the right menus and water. Our waitress took drink orders and I wanted to try one of their signature drinks and she couldn't tell me about it. I told her I don't like sweet drinks and she said she thought it wasn't. It arrived and it was like a Bloody Mary with bacon in it. It was good but not sure why she didn't know. I told her i thought it tasted like one, and she said yes i think so too... really? why not share that? And then took 10-15 minutes to get the drink. Second drink came the same way, and then the waitress laughed that the bar added bacon. I told her it had bacon the first time, and she seemed clueless. Her hair was a bit disheveled and she bounced around like a Chili's waiter. Support staff took our bread when we asked for more, and never returned. Our waitress delivered my app Wedge salad and asked if I wanted fresh ground pepper- yes. But instead of having it on hand and ready. She disappeared and chatted up another table. After five minutes, she saw me watching her and took off in pursuit of a grinder finally having the manager do it for me. I ordered the surf and turf. It was filet and shrimp, about $10+ more than the filet alone. Only two shrimp were included sitting in a little cup of butter. Disappointing. The filet was very tender but completely seasonless. The sauces didn't help. I stopped our waitress and said that I had to be honest that the steak was flavorless and I needed salt (it wasn't on the table). In a bouncy, all smiles response she said she could bring salt or their "fun salts". I really expected some sort of apology or empathic service reaction. Nothing. She brought the fun salts, which made a HUGE difference. If only the steak had been seasoned on the grill. Btw, we sat near the front and got to see the staff hang around the front station a few times, including our waitress, and chat each other up. Terrible for this kind of place. Overall, he food was okay. The service was under whelming and much better suited to a Chili's or TGIF. For the price, I will stick with Capital Grill or the like where they know how to cook a steak and serve customers who pay $30+ for an entree. I am still here in the hotel, and will be here all weekend but I will not go back.

Bought a voucher from LivingSocial thinking it was a good way to check the place out. Since it's an upscale steak house and a ways away, I figured the voucher was a great incentive to get me to try it. That way if it sucked I didn't feel like I had been ripped off. PY was worth the trip and we'll definitely be going back again. We went on a Wednesday night, they were offering a prime rib special. For $19 I had a nice sized portion of perfectly prepared prime rib, loaded baked potato and seasoned green beans. Everything was prepared perfectly. We started out with Oysters on the half shell and out came 6 nice sized oysters with 3 separate sauces to add to them. One was a jalapeño flavored, another Brandy flavored and the traditional cocktail. For my meal, I asked for medium rare prime rib and a nice thick piece of medium rare is what I received. The green beans were crisp yet tender and the baked potato was perfectly cooked. (And yes you can screw up a baked potato). For desert we had chocolate lava cake which is my bf's favorite. He said it was the best he had ever had. They even serve Arbuckle Coffee so another plus for keeping it local. The server was very nice, younger than you'd expect for this type of atmosphere but still very knowledgable and maybe, because she was so young, not at all pretentious like a lot of fine dining servers can be. She didn't even make my bf feel stupid when he mentioned that the pepper in the dish they set down at the beginning of the meal was really salty. Turns out it was smoked sea salt. They explained that at the beginning but he wasn't listening. Great date night place but you won't feel out of place walking in wearing jeans either.

the food was good the service was not at all it was ok but for the type of place i was expecting the service to be better they missed a few things i asked for so it does not seem they are paying attention to detail but just wanted to get off of work already maybe it was the particular server i had but they did not give the best service for the type of business it is supposed to be

Amazing. The seafood sampler was delicious and the buffalo sirloin was great!!! A casino restaurant in Tucson that would rival some of the best Vegas has to offer.

In our first visit, PY Steakhouse quickly became our favorite steakhouse. Every aspect was flawless. We wanted to come again and again to this very special place. We did and we enjoyed excellent food with many wonderful flavors. Classy and comfortable surroundings too. The menu has a wide variety of the best cuts of meat, fresh seafood and poultry. The Chef has unique twists for all his dishes from starters to dessert. Amazing sauces too. Elegant, varied and something for every taste. See: casinodelsol.com/pdf/py-… . Menu entrees range from $22 to $65 (for two) with no side or salad or soup. Those are $5 to $8 each. The Price Fixe menu at $39.95 is a wise and filling alternative providing a starter, an entree, a side and a dessert, however, as fair as the Price Fixe deal is, this is still an expensive place to dine. Over 450 wines, but our favorite wine was out of stock on our third visit. Service was spotty too on most of our visits. Great sometimes and mediocre at other times. For example: we were asked if we wanted our wine decanted on our first visit and never again on any subsequent visit; we asked for the decanting on another visit and it never happened; we had to ask for a Wine List on our last visit, when we were not given one when seated. These faux pas spoil an otherwise wonderful experience. That said, I have to say that the support and bus staff was exceptional on all our visits. In our last visit, we ordered the same desserts as on all our prior visits. Each of the desserts was missing the chocolate spoon that we enjoyed on each of our prior visits. When we asked what had happened to the chocolate, each of the staff seemed to have a confused and puzzled look about what we were asking. All three that we mentioned it to. Even the Manager. As if they had never seen their dessert with a chocolate spoon accent. How could we know after just three visits and the staff not know? After spending over $300 on each of our visits, we felt chiseled. Low end handling for a high end place. One odd feature: on days when they have live music, PY plays live music at the same time that different overhead music is playing. Different music does not play well at the same time. Disconcerting and definitely a good way to ruin such wonderful dining. We hope that PY can work out these difficulties and make everyone's visit as special as our first visit was.

PY Steakhouse has some amazing choices for entrees. We agreed on the crab cake, pork belly, scallops, T-bone and rib-eye. There are many delicious choices for sides ($5 each). The ambience is classy and comfortable. I understand this place just opened, but that is no excuse for poor table service. We had to flag someone over to water our table (the waitress was busy talking to a fellow worker). After eating our delicious meal, the empty plates sat on the table for 25 minutes. When the lethargic server & busser decided to take the plates away, they left dirty silverware, bread basket, and the sauce caddy on the table. This restaurant has potential, but someone needs to step in, adjust the negative attitude, and the rolling of the eyes. On our next trip back to Tucson we plan to stay at the resort hotel. I am willing to try our luck again!

The food here is fabulous. The pork belly appetizer is amazing and the ceviche in the seafood sampler is wonderful. The filet mignon is the most tender I've had in years, and the chocolate lava cake desert melts in your mouth. I've lived in a lot of cities with great food, and the food at this place lives up to the best of standards. Definitely worth the drive to an out of the way restaurant.
