Old Chicago is one of those restaurants that are just "eh". They're not as bad as places such as Applebee's, Chili's and so on. They offer a good quantity menu and must I say their fries are better than what I've had. The service is.. "eh" as well. I had the Beer Burger and I asked for NO caramelized onions and she gave me NO onions at all. The rest of the burger was supposed to come with onion strings and I strictly asked for no caramelized but whatever, what can you do. Basically all I received was a basic burger with the beer cheese sauce.. and jalapeños (which I asked for btw). Nothing very special about it. Food was good but as I said, nothing that really stood out above the rest.

OK, whatever, Old Chicago is one of those places you go to when there aren't many options and you want something easy. And the beer menu is pretty amazing. But here's the thing, lately the service has been garbage. Like seriously horrible. We waited over an hour for our food (which was quick-fry menu selections that shouldn't have taken more than 15 minutes to prepare). It was a slow weeknight, and we watched people come and go. Oh, and I couldn't even get my beer! It's my own fault for not bringing my ID, but I've never had a problem like the waitress gave me that night. I have had great experiences at Old Chicago in the past, but a handful of super disappointing ones lately have left me thinking we can take our service elsewhere

One thing you can count on with Old Chicago is that they serve meals late so it's a good place to go after a show or late movie. You can eat at the bar, booth or table. For sports fans, there are lots of TVs. It is often a bit noisy but not as much in the restaurant part. They have a wide selection of beers. Their menu includes a nice variety of sandwiches, entrees, salads and pizza. I like the burgers and pizza and have had the salads as well. I find the food to have a good flavor and to be a generous proportion. We've had good service but have generally been there late in the evening when it wasn't as crowded. It is a better quality than most other chains and I have found food to be consistent. The happy hours are a great option with good prices but late night dining is hard to find in Tucson and this is a great go-to for that as well.

I love this place, deep dish pizza and a delicious IPA you really can't go wrong

We had a thin crust pizza. Horrible! Crust was like a big round Cracker, and not in the good Chicago style laminated crust way, and sauce was sweet. The sauce actually reminded me of the sauce in spaghetti O's, only thicker. Strawberry lemonade was the best thing I had. No wonder the waitress dropped the pizza without saying a thing and disappeared. Too many good places in Tucson to waste your money on this.

Okay Old Chicago. You guys play the sound for NFL games, UofA games, NBA Final games. Get with the Stanley Cup Finals. Especially when your name sake is in them! Geez.

Old Chicago was my favorite place to grab happy hour near my house. Recently they changed their happy hour menu and the good selection is now terrible. They do still have a reverse happy hour (10pm-2am) as well as the regular happy hour but it's only worth while for the beer. If you're just looking for a beer it is def the place to go though. The selection of beer on draft is amazing and the regular late night bartender is awesome! I have forgotten his name but if you catch the guy in glasses be sure to sit at the bar. He is there almost every night I go in and gives great service even when he is slammed during games. If you don't know much about beer he is willing to give you complete, detailed descriptions about each beer on draft and even let's you try samples until you are satisfied with one. The beer tour is a must and he mini tours are a blast to do with your friends!! Outside of the amazing beer selection and awesome bartender the table service is quite terrible. I haven't ever sat in the dining room but the bars cocktail area is truly terrible. It doesn't matter if it is a crazy game day or a slow afternoon, the servers don't pay much attention to you or even keep your drinks filled. The food is pretty good and their new presentation of dishes really showed improvement. The removal of almost all happy hour food was such a disappointment I hardly early here anymore though. Old Chicago is a fun place to catch a game and grab some beer but I wouldn't visit if you are looking for quality service for lunch or dinner.

I wouldnt rush back here any time soon. It was just ok. We went on a Sunday night and they were fairly busy. I ordered a stromboli and it was pretty dry. Had to ask for extra sauce to dip it in. We ordered two beers.. before they arrived, our waitress swung by and dropped off two little shooters of beer and just bolted.. I wasnt really sure what it was all about. I stopped her on her way passed, and asked her what they were.. she explained they were just tasters of another beer.. oh.. ok? Well it would have been nice if you told us what they were and why we were getting them? Strange to me but oh well! It wasnt anything bad, just nothing special at all.

I love OC... Service is excellent, beer is better! My #1 spot! I've been going there almost a year now, I consider myself a regular. .. Some favorites--the pizza of course, fish & chips.. Can't go wrong with the burgers. I love the beer tours and the fact you can try any of the beers on tap. Sit at the bar!

Great bar and happy hour... Get a Bloody Mary- yumm- you'll wait when it's busy- but that's everywhere! Put the spinach under the rest of the toppings so it cooks properly- doesn't burn- and is yummy- only suggestion!

when we first entered the restaurant there were no employees there to help us, I was a bit disappointed since I had come around 5:45pm and there weren't that many customers at the time. it took about two employees to pass by and about 10 minutes later for them to actually notice us. since we had a party of over 20 they had said to give them approximately 5 minutes to set up, which we then continued to wait near the entrance. 10 minutes later another server had asked if we were helped, I had to explain to her that one of the employees was setting up our table , after saying that she had said "let me check on that and get back to you" 5 more minutes passed and a completely different hostess came out and asked if we had been helped, explaining to her what I said to the last hostess, she began and told me that our table was already setup in which she began to lead us to our table. our waitress started off taking our drink orders which went smoothly, until she started serving us. she would forget our orders, and then started rushing and would spill. which I blew off, what really killed it for me would have to be the wait for food. we had a group of us ordering all you can eat deep dish pizza, and then another group of us who ordered actual entrées. the all you can eat pizzas came out relatively fast, then there was a group of us who ordered individual pizzas or burgers which took literally around 1-1.5 hours, at latest we ordered around 6:45 we didn't get out food until at least 8 and then another member of our group didn't get his pizza until everyone was finishing up eating around 8:20-8:30. the service overall was terrible, the food was decent to pretty good but the wait absolutely killed it. I came in hungry, and by the time I got my food, I didn't even want to eat it anymore. If you don't mind waiting a long time or getting mediocre customer service then this might be the place for you I definitely had a terrible experience and don't intend on coming back any time soon

We've been sitting in an almost empty restaurant for almost an hour. We ordered chicken strips, a salad and a burger... what is taking so long? The first 6 minutes we sat and waited for a server, we said, "Two more minutes, and we're going next door to Sauce". We should have left. I have been here before during night hours and it wasn't bad. I brought my wife this time and she is pregnant and NOT impressed.

For starters, Old Chicago is a corporate run restaurant. Always has been. So people complaining that it has "gone corporate" are very misinformed. Being corporate (but the most un-corporate place you will ever experience) keeps the beer list long and interesting, the menu adventurous and the staff friendly. Sure sometimes food can take a while, but its usually when a big game is on or the place is on a waiting list. It's always worth the wait. Especially when you're sampling one of their 110 beers they always have available. And their lunch specials! Their lunch specials is literally one of the best in town. An entree, salad/soup and drink for under 10 bucks? So good. Plus Old Chicago Tucson has one of the best bartenders in the country. You need to hang out with Sherra (she usually works day shifts) who is delightful, funny and continues to win "Best Bloody Mary" in Tucson. Trust me here...

The services is a killer, waitresses are very kind. The double cooked wings are a little bit too salty for me, pizza is delicious but no more than a slice cause it's pretty big.

    (3)
  • Daniel G.

Ok, ignoring the wait times which other reviewers have so duly noted, the food was absolutely mediocre. they don't deliver food to your table until it's all done, so if you order wings with pizza, you get cold wings like I did last night. secondly, the prices are very high for pizza that reminded me of Pizza Hut or Chuck E. Cheese. Not ok. I'm talking 16-21 dollars for a 12" based on how many toppings. I've gotten amazing 18" pizzas for me and my girlfriend at nicer, wood burning oven locations right off the beach before for less that what I paid here last night. Also, the interior looks like an unfinished Applebee's, but boy do they charge like if they were Flemings. (Also service was terrible. had water refilled once)

I'll start with this, for the people who don't like to read long reviews; It took over an hour to receive cold, mediocre food (mind you it isn't that busy). My wife and I arrived with some of her coworkers at 6:20 for a few drinks and dinner. While we were promptly seated, our drink order wasn't taken for 15 minutes. We didn't receive the drinks for another 20 minutes after that. Mind you, our waitress walked past us numerous times (and we tried to flag her down) to help an adjacent table. Another 15 minutes go by before we can order. My wife gets a basic cheese burger with a salad and I got garlic cheesy bread and a bacon cheese burger. 30 minutes pass again before our food comes, all at once. All stone cold and soggy. This happened with everyone's food. We quickly ate what we could before paying and promptly leaving. Overall, terrible.

I go once a week for the beer and pub pizza happy hour. On the wall of shame a few times now. Good place to just hangout with friends and chat. Only bad part is the Wi-Fi sucks just don't even try and connect to it.

When I lived in Tucson use to go here a lot fir drinks with friends and co-workers. The food is good and tons of beer choices. They do beer toys and mini beer tours so if you sign up for their reward/members card you can work your way towards done free things and maybe even get your name on the wall if you drink enough beer. Last night caught up with an old friend for dinner drinks. Had the Chicago fire calzone, it is not spicy at all, little disappointed by that. It was still really good though. Also had the chicken pesto panini, not the best buy it was definitely good. For drinks in not into beer so I ordered strongbow which is my favorite hard cider and my friend had 4 beers working on completing their current tour. Think he's completed at least 6 tours and a couple mini ones. Service is good. Will remain a place I stop into when I'm down from Phoenix.

This place is not bad and I enjoy coming here to watch football and drink beer. The bartenders are always great and the beer selection is awesome. I just wish it wasn't a chain or at least that the food was better. But we never hesitate to stop in for some drinks and a snack plus it helps that it is right by our house.

Went here for my husbands birthday on a Tuesday night. We were seated right away and that's about the only thing that happened in a timely matter. They didn't bring enough menus for our party said they would bring us more and never did. They apologized saying they were busy because of the game, but the place was half empty. Took along time to get everything. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the food was good. I had the "my spaghetti pie" which was very good. I will try them again and update my review .

I went here for late night with a large group. I thought that the service here was good - the server kept checking on us and as soon as my beer was empty, he asked if he could get me refills. I'm in love with the Moose Drool - some silly name for serious beer. I'll go again.

I hesitated to write this because we really love this place. And I gave it one star , but that's for this one experience. We went to eat there on super bowl Sunday after the game and we sat for almost 25 minutes and no one bothered to come ask if we wanted drinks. Everyone was too involved in their conversations about the game, and walked past us at our table. I told someone on the way out that we just sat there and no one helped us. And she's just said. "Oh sorry". We are at a drive thru that night instead. I at least got my food with a smile there that night.

  • Kathy O.

Not for me because the noise level, even when there isn't a game on, is so loud that you have to shout in the ear of the person sitting next to you to be heard. The wait staff must suffer hearing loss. The food is average or less than average. I guess people go for the beer & to watch UA games. If you like sports, beer, and yelling, then this place is for you.

I've been visiting Old Chicago for over 10 years now. It's close to my work and they have an excellent variety of meals available, and a great lunch menu. It's also been a favorite happy hour spot after work with fantastic happy hour deals on a wide variety of taps and appetizers. I've made some friends over the years with the bartenders and I can honestly say I've NEVER had bad service! It's definitely one of my top go-to places and I know I'll have a great meal and drink (if I want one). Awesome pizzas, burgers, salads, calzones, fish and chips, and even the soup is good. I honestly wished I lived closer, although it's probably a good thing I don't or I would be eating out constantly :-)

I really do like this place but have had quite a few service issues. Out of 5 visits, 2 got my order completely wrong, and another time the service was pretty awful. I really dislike the pizza here so I never get it. The calzones are very yummy, just be clear the server writes pepperochini and not pepperoni. I ended up getting a comp meal bc of it. They were really nice about the whole issue, the manager even gave me a bowl of soup to sip on while I waited for them to make me another. Another time I ordered a salad that is no longer on the menu and there was no chicken in it. Instead of comping my meal, they gave me a piece of grilled chicken and took off one of my drinks. I guess that's alright but I thought they could have done better. This past weekend when I went, I sat in the bar area and it was only one server tending to the whole area and it took way too long for us to even get water. I ended up walking straight up to the bar. This time I had the buffalo chicken rolls and they are quite honestly, heaven. I also enjoy the mozz sticks, they're very thick and yummy! So basically, don't get the pizza. Everything else seems pretty decent, ie calzones, buffalo chicken rolls, and any of the salads. And of course the beer selection is always quite impressive. It's what keeps me coming back.

The chicken with spinach pizza is surprisingly AMAZING. I had it 3 times in 1 week it was that good. That's all I had but maybe I'll try their other options.

My husband and I met here on our first date; we go back every year and I go several times a year with friends. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Kudos to Aimee who was our server at our most recent visit. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. Good food, good price, and you leave full.

Went to Old Chicago and ordered the lunch special w/ unlimited garlic bread and salad and a individual pizza. The service was friendly but inept. Never offered refills or the unlimited salad or bread offered in the lunch special. The salad was rotting lettuce and grocery store dressing, and the pizza tasted like it had come out of a microwave. They also messed up the order; we had specifically asked for tomatoes, but instead received sun-dried tomatoes. The manager came out and apologized for the mistake and comped the pizza, but still a disappointing experience.

Terrible experience!!!!!!!! Rude waitress Dirty table Apathetic manager Bartender was more interested in her conversation with fellow bartenders and drinking her bottle of water. I stood at the bar and she literally turned her back on me so she could keep talking to her coworkers.

We just came to OC tonight and were a group of about 10. We've come here before in larger groups and haven't had the bad experience we had tonight. Our food was brought out in 3 different separate "groups", with the last two brought out only after we complained, about 20 mins after the first few dishes. The only salad ordered was the very last thing brought out, and only after we inquired about where it was. The food was either cold, or had old wilting vegetables on it, mind you, we had been waiting for an hour (prob longer) on the order. Nothing special was ordered, sandwiches, a couple of burgers, and pastas. When the manager came, he comped some of the meals, but I felt he could have done more, the service wasn't the best, the food was horrible, and if we hadn't have been so famished and celebrating my daughter, we probably would have walked out. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

We just returned from a 4-day, 3-night hike/camping trip and we were tired! I hand a hankering for pizza, not of the NY thin-crust style. I wanted some crust to bite into. Old Chicago fit the bill. We had their thin crust, which is not their deep pan crust and is not really thin like Grimaldi's. We had a large half Margherita and half Hawaiian. Also had a small pepperoni/mushroom. The pizzas were tasty--I liked them and it hit the spot. I think they could put just a little more ingredients on the small, but the large was OK. They used red peppers on the Hawaiian and it must have been a good crop as they were delicious. My daughter even ate them and she never eats bell peppers. I liked their crust as it had substance but it also had crunch to it. We didn't want any of their dinner salads (all came with meat) and wanted their Mediterranean salad, but it was an appetizer and would be very small. Our server, Brittany, said she would check with the kitchen, and sure enough, they said they could make a family-sized version of it and charge us for two of the appetizer salads. Cool. I ordered a lemonade because she said it was made out of scratch. I didn't like it. If you have read any of my other reviews, you know I moved from CA and am spoiled from making my own fresh lemonade. This tasted like it was made out of concentrate. My daughter's strawberry lemonade, however, tasted good. I replaced my lemonade with a root beer. Brittany gave us great service. I like their food. It was a comfortable restaurant.

Went there to watch the UofA basketball game. In the bar, of the 7 or 8 TV's only 3 played the game. Out in the dining room all the TV's showed the game. So it was hard to watch the game in the bar. The bar was packed and there weren't enough waiters. Tables stayed unbussed for a long time and it took too long to get drink refills. The food was good and there's a great beer selection. I'll be back but not for UA basketball games.

They should change the name. We went in to watch the Blackhawks game but they were not willing to put it on just one of their dozens of TVs. Hostess was very rude about it.

The burger was okay but pricey compared to just a burger joint, and like beer, etc. but also, beer was pricey for a bar. What do you pay for? Atmosphere and service I suppose.

Great location, good service, amazing beer selection, mediocre food. AMBIENCE: 3 stars. This is a sprawling brew pub decorated like somebody gave a University of Arizona frat boy $10,000 to spend on what they thought would look really cool--it is OK, a bit overwhelming. It actually reminds me a bit of Tchotski's (free compliment to the first person who knows what movie that is from!!). SERVICE: 3 stars. Nice, pleasant, service that does what you expect but not a lot more. FOOD: 3 stars. There is a lot of fried, brown food, as well as an array of salad, pizza, burgers, etc. There is not anything that makes me really want to go back. ALCOHOL: BEER: 5 stars--this is an impressive array of beer. Wow. Mixed drinks: 2 stars. Seems like a lot of bar mixers from Costco are used in this place. Stick with beer. OVERALL: 3 stars. There is literally 10 places in Tucson I can name off of the top of my head that I would go to ahead of Old Chicago--but it is what it is, and that is GREAT beer selection and OK food.

it was a forgettable pizza. Cheese was okay sauce was too sweet and crust was very average. Nothing special about this pizza.

If you're going there for beer and maybe something light, do not sit at a table! Go directly up to the bar and order everything at once. The hostesses are nice and very friendly, but the servers are terrible. They seem to disappear after you put in your drink order, and it takes at least ten minutes before your beer shows up. Rather than ask what you'd like to eat, the server drops the beers off and says she will be right back. Another ten minutes goes by, and she's there to take your order. The food is great once you get it, and their beer tour definitely brings you back over and over. Just expect to wait for a long time before you get anything served to you. I love the quintessential bar foods; buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and the like. Their pizza is great too, but be very specific is you want extra anything. We had to ask 3 times for extra basil before the waitress brought it out to us. It gets loud in there, so don't expect an intimate setting unless you're at a table in the corner.

Shera rocks! She is by far the best part of a visit to OC! With all the changes that have happened I'm happy to see her smiling face! I definitely miss the feel OC use to have before all the changes. The food is always great! And the beer is always cold!

  • Gilbert T.

Would give this place five stars, however they have told me twice to wait 40 minutes because there are no servers. What the hell kinda of garbage is this? I understand they might be short on servers, however are the owners that much of tight wads that they'd rather lose business than pay another server, which they don't pay much to begin with? The pizza is really good, as is their happy hour, but to wait an hour just because they don't have a server is beyond ridiculous as they have plenty of tables open.

Excellent service and always a great beer selection. Joseph and Ty will always take care of you when they're behind the bar. I've never sat in the main dining area, but I would say it's safe to assume that it would be amazing as well. Always busy during U of A games so get here early.

New logo and cleaner digs. I can see what I'm eating and I like it. Thai-Pie anyone..? If you checked your mail this weekend and got a bogo on entrees for Old Chicago, use it. If the mail-man stole your coupon or it was lost in snail-mail purgatory, go anyway. I'll never claim the service is the best at OC, but the pizza? Well, that's a story with a fittingly fairytale ending. The first time Tavo and I decided to stop in, we were on our way to Ace to pick up some gardening supplies after a morning of hellish de-weeding. We looked like a couple of messed up hobos straight off the train car. But, we were hungry and parched--throats so dry that only a tanker full of water and a pint of good summer Ale could help us swallow. We'd been told that OC had a great beer selection. The list was breadthy, sure, but they were out of about 30% of the bullet-pointed beer battalion. But that was then. When we went last Saturday, everything was in stock and--to my happy surprise--there were even some beers available that hadn't made the list yet. One was Maui Coconut Porter, one of my personal favorites. The keg hadn't even been tapped but, since I requested it, the bartender happily cleared the lines, hooked it up and served me up the first creamy, dark, indulgent pint. I was as happy as a pretty princess in a bibbity-bobbity pumpkin and while there aren't many Stouts or Porters that I'd refer to as appropriately refreshing on an 105 degree day in Arizona, Maui is at the top of that very short list. So far: An upgraded look, an upgraded beer selection and the service hadn't sucked either. Our waitress pointed out that there were about ten new menu items too--exciting! Our first time in we'd tried the bruschetta appetizer. Gustavo fell in love and I give it an A-ok; mostly because of the taste of fresh basil and the sound of the word. It always reminds me of my Italian-American grandmother with her hyphenated nationality, Boston home and homemade pastas: "Hello dear, would you like some bru-sKet-ta?" I vetoed my ancestry this time though, opting to go instead with one of the new starters. Initially, we decided on bacon wrapped hot wings because, well, who wouldn't? A couple of minutes after putting in the order--and after switching to the lighter Kona ale--our waitress returned to tell us that the kitchen was still prepping the bacon-wing fantasy platter. She asked if we'd like to wait the 20 minutes or choose something else. We debated and opted to try the buffalo chicken rolls; another new menu item. They were not at all disappointing. Mini-quiche-like, the buffalo chicken rolls are little doughy cylinders of chopped marinated chicken and melted cheese--swiss maybe?--baked and then drizzled with a delicious spicy buffalo sauce. We gobbled them and, as a bonus, were told that they were on the house because the wings hadn't been ready. To top off our lovely lunch experience, Gustavo and I noticed that, although not on the menu listing itself, the pizza that made our first trip to OC worth the dank, darkness and dirty bar, the Thai-Pie, had, after a prolonged absence, made its triumphant return. On a specialty 2 for $20.00 lunch insert the TP was listed as an individual pizza option. After hunting out server down--we only noticed after we'd put in our order for two 18 inch Hawaiian and Tuscon Pizzas--we asked if we could switch the Hawaiian for an 18 inch Thai Pie. And yes, we can, she did, and we were so, so happy. The Thai Pie is topped with mozzerella cheese, mushrooms, broccoli and belle peppers. This is amazing in and of itself as our household is a broccoli-pepper loving one. But underneath the delicious rabbit food and cheese is the real beauty of the Thai Pie--a sweet and spicy Thai-chili pizza sauce that tingles the taste buds and sends shivers from broccoli stem to stern. The deep-dish crust--we never go thin--is glazed in the sauce too and compliments the perfect buttery baked texture of the already delicious dough. This pie is a must for Tucson's pizza connoisseurs; it's third only to pizza I've had at Rocco's or a nice deep dish from Giordano's that, in case you don't know, is actually in the city of Chicago. The Tuscon pizza was decent too,but be aware that the pizza sauce is made with a balsamic reduction--it has a tang. I love a good vinegar, but it was a little unsettling on a pizza at first taste. A few bites in, the flavors did start to blend nicely. Fresh tomatoes, fresh leafy greens, cheese and grain. It was almost like eating the bruschetta I'd avoided earlier in the meal. Admittedly, the Tuscon tasted much better as a leftover--cold and right out of the ice box, just like bruschetta should be. With two 18 inchers--one of which was free with our coup--we had leftovers to share and dropped some off with the working mother in law. She loved it. We loved it. And we'll be coming back. Old Chicago is another place that I've been to a ton of times, but have neglected to review. It is so neutral to me, that I just haven't really found a reason to review it. But, luckily for all you Yelpers out there, I'm quite bored today, and just ate at Old Chicago this week, so here we go! Food: 3/5 stars We really enjoy the Italian Nachos. Regular tortilla chips are covered with mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage crumbles, pepperoni slices, and pepperoncini, and is served with a side of their marinara sauce. The combination is tasty, but a little bit greasy. We always get the half order (which is discounted during happy hour), and that portion is enough for two or three people. The regular portion must be enough for at least a party of four. The calzones are ok. I think their ratio of stuffing items is way off, though, particularly if you get meat in them. I order it with pepperoni, roasted garlic, and extra cheese. Even when saying extra cheese, there's not enough cheese to equalize the massive amount of pepperoni they stuff into it. If you like pepperoni, then this is for you. Personally, I have to pull most of it out. The dough is usually baked nicely with garlic butter brushed on it. Sometimes it's a little doughy tasting. Overall, it's decent for an Arizona calzone. The stromboli use the same dough, but they're more like pizza sandwiches than a stuffed pizza. I haven't really had them, but my husband has, and likes the one with the sausage. Their individual pizzas also have a weird ratio of ingredients to me. Not enough cheese or sauce to the amount of dough. Their larger pizzas are much better. Their cookie dessert is very good. A warm gooey cookie with vanilla ice cream on it is almost never a bad thing! Service: 3/5 stars The service is generally ok, never stellar, never usually bad. Atmosphere: 2.5/5 stars Loud parties of college kids, dingy wood tables & carpeting, and not the best shopping center make this place a bit annoying for me to go to sometimes. On our last visit, there was a group of eight or so college kids who were screaming and yelling so loudly, that they were even annoying the servers as well as other tables. Management doesn't seem to care enough to try to control rowdy crowds so other guests can have a decent time, though. When there aren't loud parties, the place can actually be very laid back and relaxing. Overall, I'll keep eating at Old Chicago. The food is consistent and decent. If you like beer, this is definitely a great place to be. TIP for beer lovers: Get their beer loyalty card! They have some cool promotions for beer with it.

I didn't like the place at all, but I almost never like sports bars. Still, I'm going to rate it ok, because I get that it's not my kind of thing, and is average for what it is. The counter was sticky, it reeked of stale moldy beer like a frat house, and my chicken strips were dry and stringy. But it seemed to be more about the big screens, beer selection, and watching sports. I just found the crowd a bit loud, and smells a bit strong, and the food just not good.

I had not been there in over a year and it was the first time for my girlfriend. We were looking for a place to eat where we could watch the World Series and have decent food. Old Chicago exceeded our expectations on all counts. The service was exceptional. Our waitress could not do enough for us. The manager came over since it was my friends first time and gave us a $5 GC for our next visit. The food was better than I remembered. I had a Cheddar Burger that was delicious. My girlfriend had a Chicken sandwich that she loved. We will be back.

Lots of great beers to choose from and the "Chicago Seven" pizza is awesome! We replace the bell peppers with artichoke hearts and it is perfect. Hot and tasty every time!

Been here on several occasions and I found the food an acceptable alternative to the usual Pizza Huts or any take-out joints. Pros: decent food and variety on the menu (not just pizza), good beers and drinks selection, outside seating area, centrally located, lots of TVs tuned to sports Cons: almost always crowded (poor service if it is crowded), very loud dining room

Hardly any reviews for Old Chicago Pizza...REALLY?! I mean...REALLY?!?!?!?! Okay so first the configuration of the restaurant is a little interesting. I felt kind of bad for our server trying to navigate a huge deep dish pizza on to our table which was tiny...not to mention we were the opposite of the easy customers (cramming 6 of us to a 4 top) go with the flow I say. All of that said, let's move on to beer and food. Beer is always delicious but the selection here is amazurrrring! I mean seriously. Tons of beers on tap AND in the can. I mean delicious beer in the can too. Pizza was delicious. Great blend of flavors. And the T.V.'s-EVERYWHERE!!!!!!! Considering I am kind of a sports fanatic this made me incredibly blissfully stoked. All in all. Radtastic experience. Great friends, good service, good food and cold canned beer. No complaints.

Food was ok, have some good beer. Server was the most incompetent human I've ever dealt with. Everything went wrong, took 30 minutes to get first beer, next beer 30 minutes, then forgot about it and told me they couldn't give it to me in the size that I double checked I could. Third beer took over 15 minutes and then he told me he couldn't bring it. Awful.

Its a great place to catch a game, have a drink from cider, to wine, to a looooooong list of fun and even strange beers. The food is good, somethings like the pizza rolls are awesome! They are open super late, so the it is a great place for any meal.

We have been to this place a number of times, because of the beer tour that you can join. It's free, and if you drink 110 you can your name on the Wall Of Foam. They also have mini-tours, which are usually just eight beers or so, and when you finish, you get a, usually pretty cool, t-shirt. My fiance and I both have our share of beer tour shirts, in fact I am wearing the summer mini tour one right now. It's kinda fun, because it forces you to try other beers than what you have become comfortable with, and I have found a few that really stand out for me. The food there has never been incredible, except for the Little Big Cookie (a chocolate chip cookie with ice cream...like the Pizzookie at Oreganos). We have gotten pizza, sandwiches, burgers, salads, basically some of everything on the menu. I can only say, avoid the burgers. I always forget this and order them, and while they aren't horrible, they are not especially flavorful either. The Italian Nachos are what we typically get. Chips with pepperoni, pepperchinis, ground beef and cheese. They are served with a marinara sauce. It's just not quite inspired food; we go for the huge variety of beer. The service is usually lacking. Sometimes you get an awesome server who really takes care of you, but more often than not, you have an empty beer glass for a while while you try to flag down other servers. I will be back, because of the beer and the mini-tours. We eat dinner there when we are really hungry and want to add some beer points to our card, but don't go unless we are in a beer drinking mood.

We came here after my grandpa's wake as a very large family group last November. I think there were 16 of us. We needed a fun outing after such an emotional event and good food because we were starving. Old Chicago hit it out of the park for us. On a Friday night we were seated at one long combined table without having to wait very long. Without anyone having to ask, two waitresses split up our group and took orders to help move things along faster. Great strategy and much appreciated! Our orders arrived at the table without any problems and everyone was very satisfied with their dinner. We had a great time catching up with family we haven't seen in a while, commenting on the sports games on surrounding TVs, and eating delicious food.

As a disclaimer, I don't know too much about Chicago style pizza, so I'm writing the review about just my experiences here. I hear from other reviews that the pizza's not Chicago-style at all, but I don't know if this is their old way of doing things or are trying something different. The atmosphere was pretty nice, got wood furniture and comfortable lighting, so that's a plus. The waiter was friendly, did everything he could to please his customers. And I'm impressed that there are 110 beers here, which in itself seems outlandish. Definitely not a bad place to hang out. And the restaurant was mostly empty, with a few people here and there, at about ten or eleven on a Friday night, so it wasn't bad at all. Pizza could definitely be better though. Perhaps it is the old-style way, but I just thought it was too greasy and buttery. It's not bad, just needs work. The other items people got looked pretty good, I'll acknowledge that. And I would like to try the pepperoni rolls, especially since it reminds me of the deceased Pizza Pucks restaurant that used to run at home. Nostalgic moment there. Overall, 3 stars, although I'd give it 3.5 if I could. I'd come here again if something was going on, but wouldn't like to bring people here unless it got better or if I found something better on the menu.

Old Chicago has a large menu which makes it a good place to go with a group or by yourself. The menu has plenty of choices for everyone of all ages and tastes. I particularly like the pizza and the lasagna for entrees. I still go back and forth on the thick and thin crusts on the pizza depending on my mood and the number of calories already consumed that day. A number of the appetizers and salads are good too. One thing I really like about Old Chicago is that it can have a sports bar vibe when all televisions are tuned to some big event but I have never experienced the place as too loud. In my experience, the televisions are always muted and the customers watching are enjoying themselves without being obnoxious. Friday and Saturday evenings are pretty busy and have wait lists but the restaurant is large enough that tables are usually available on other days and times. The managers and staff are friendly and helpful. The host staff usually greets everyone promptly and the wait staff provide excellent service. If you want more of a sports bar atmosphere, ask to sit in the bar area. Old Chicago can provide the type of meal and atmosphere you want. If you should happen to have a problem, just ask to speak to a manager and all will be made well.

We were expecting stuffed pizza --- Old Chicago's pizza is not. Their deep dish seemed simply like thick pizza. The service was good. The pizza was meh.

I have not tried the deep dish pizza here but I have tried many of the other menu items. I was let down by the calzone, the bits of roma tomato were too dry. The regular cheese pizza was mediocre, the sampler platter was ok.

Used to LOVE oc but this place has really gone downhill. Server was inattentive, took forever to get order placed, get drinks, apps and entree and it was not busy. Food wasn't very good and was inaccurate. Who puts cilantro in italian marinara sauce? Will think again before coming here.

I find this place a great " go to" place for a cold brew. The regulars are an eclectic and fun bunch of folks and are great. For a chain the food i find is quite good and the presentation is good. If your looking for wood fired hipster pizza then get lost. This is solid beer, wings and pizza fare that you and a group can enjoy . Lots of big screens for sports, I catch most of My Vols games here when I can. I like it and so should you!

After driving around to multiple bars looking for a baseball game with no luck, I stumbled upon Old Chicago and was treated to the game on 3 screens...even during Sunday afternoon football! The afternoon specials were great, the beer bottle selection is extensive and its my favorite place so far for spicy wings (Firehouse)! The draft beer selection could be better, especially during the October month of beer, I ended up ordering a bottle when I was really craving a draft. The staff was also very friendly and left us alone most of the time while we watched the game, just stopping by to refill our beers and clear away plates. Will definitely return to watch another game!

Positives: Their kitchen is open late, and it's close to where I live. Negatives: Food is meh, and not anything exceptional. If there are other places open... just go other places.

I was just saying at lunch today how I've been going to this Old Chicago for over 12 years... and even have a plaque on the Wall of Fame! I've seen a lot of changes over the years in menus and staff, but it's always been consistently good food and service. I have my favorite items, and while it's not gourmet it's always good. Last week I didn't care for a calzone I ordered... nothing was wrong with it, it just wasn't for me (my taste buds have changed since pregnancy!). Our waitress Skye couldn't have been nicer... she brought me a different dish at no charge. Her great service really made the lunch special! I was happy to see Skye again today, and even though it was incredibly crowded from a big local basketball game (and she was extremely busy), she was still kind and did her best to refill drinks and bring us any extras we needed. She even remembered the kind of dressing I like! Old Chicago is a great place for some comfort food, to watch the game, or relax on the patio on a nice day. I imagine I'll be coming here for at least another 12 years!

I have been here a few times, should have called it quits after my prior visit when I was served barely warm soup...you have to be pretty inept to serve someone cold soup! Today's visit wasn't much better. Pizza price is pretty high for the quality, their thin crust was thicker than a traditional hand tossed pizza crust...Huh? From prior visits, their burgers are so so, but about $10. Salads are hit or miss for getting fresh and crisp or brown and limp lettuce. The only thing I thought was consistently good is their wings, but you can get as good or better wings for less at many other places. But the deal breaker for me never wanting to return was discovering a 12" long human hair in my iced tea glass. I noticed after a couple sips, then sent the drink back when my food arrived, had the tea replaced with an ice water. Then my beverage (water) was not refilled until it had been empty for about 5 minutes. Now, 5 minutes might not seem too long to some of you, but that is a bit of a wait when you're trying to wash down a meal. In my opinion, when it comes to wait staff, if you let my beverage empty, then you already failed one of your job duty's! Upon leaving, my waitress assured me they removed the iced tea from my bill. Gee, now I feel like a VIP, how very considerate and thoughtful of them not to bill me for a contaminated beverage which I didn't even consume! Kindest Regards!

Tried Old Chicago today for the first time at lunch. The server was ok she wasn't overly friendly or very helpful, but the lunch special was amazing. I had a calzone plus a garden salad and a drink for $11. The calzone was yummy and pretty big for a lunch portion. Will definitely go back to try other items

This is a perfect place to go with your friends. The bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you want a good beer in a casual and friendly environment. Stop in, see Joseph or Ty. You will not regret it. The food is fast and delicious, the beer selection is one of the best in town with a selection of micro brews rotating frequently. Used to go elsewhere, now I just come here!

Was amazed to find a late night dinner option, as my boyfriend's work schedule keeps us from having dinner at a normal hour. I was surprised that this wasn't on the top of the late night dinner options on Yelp, as it has a full menu of not just pizza, but burgers, pasta, salad, soup, chicken wings etc....and they are open 7 days a week, and serve full menu until 1:30am. Now onto our food: I had the lasagna was very very very good, and I am a big critic of lasagna. It had just the right amount of sauce and extra cheese, which some people may not like but I'm a cheese lover, so it was deli-sh! It was served with garlic bread and even the bread was delicious. Also, I forgot to mention, we ordered 12 wings for our app and they were SO GOOD! (The cook actually threw some extra in for us, we ended up with 20!!!!!!!) I normally hate bone in wings due to the amount of work you have to do to get such little amounts of chicken, but these were monster wings. I have tried wings all over Tucson and these were by far the biggest, plumpest, most sauciest wings ever....the sauce was cooked into them not just squirted on prior to being brought to our table. My bf got the sausage and green pepper Stromboli, and he had never had Stromboli before and absolutely loved it. I tried it and the sausage was well seasoned, there was plenty of cheese and filling. I haven't had Stromboli since I've been back home in IL and this was really close to the authentic Italian restaurants version up north. The portions are very large and we ended up taking half of our dinner home, which is always a good thing in my mind. I had the mango mojito which was very good, and I was so full I could only have 1! (for the beer drinkers, there are about 3 pages of beer!!) We went about 1130-12midnight, and it was pretty busy on a Saturday night. We were well taken care of by our waitress and the food all arrived very quickly.

Good place to take beer lovers. Well even Miller and Bud fans. What is nice about Old Chicago is their 'Wall of Foam'. It's free to join--tallies up the beers you have at OC and even gives you credit for the amount you spend there. Once you have enough points you can use them towards future meals. If you finish 110 beers your name will go on the 'Wall of Foam'! The food there is pretty good, especially the pizzas and they have a good happy hour food menu.

There are only two times we'll go to Old Chicago: 1) after a night of lindy hoppin, when we want some beer (Somersault is on tap this summer!) and fries but don't want to bother with trying to get to Lindy's on Fourth or 2) when we get free pizza on our birthdays with our Beer Tour Cards - yeeaaa!! And as for the Beer Tour Cards, they're totes worth it. Lord knows I will never drink every beer on the menu! Budweiser? PBR? I can't stand those beers ever, so paying a marked up price at a restaurant is out of the question. The only thing the card is good for is getting free pizza on your birthday, and that's something I can get behind.

This is a great place to hang out with a large group of friends. The waitresses are usually cute U of A students. The food doesn't really stand out to me though. It's just your average Joe schmoe salads, fries in a basket, burger, mediocre appetizers and crappy desserts. It's like a nicer Denny's. The only thing that that's awesome (in my opinion) about this place is their World Beer Tour. You have to try 110 beers in order to complete the tour and it can be a lot of fun if you compete with friends. Other than that, this place is no different than Crapplebees, TGIFridays, Dennys etc... There are far better, more affordable, charming and quaint local places in Tucson to choose over this place.

Definitely recommend the Chicago style crust "Chicago 7" pizza. Absolutely delicious. Plus they have a massive amount of beers to choose from. Their pizza rolls & bruschetta appetizers were tasty as well.

Great environment and delicious food. It's a chain, and most times I don't like chains, but it still feels like Tucson to me. I'd specifically recommend the Double Deckaroni deep dish and the chicken mac n' cheese.

Well today the incompetence, moronic, and inept Old Chicago staff finally lit my fuse to the point I'll never visit any of their establishments ever again. So let me give you the 411. Old Chicago has from time to time mini-beer tours celebrating various special occasions (Oktoberfest, Cinco De Mayo, etc.) where a patron (who has a World Beer Tour card) consumes usually eight to ten beers (only can get credit for four beers per visit) to complete the mini-beer tour and receive a commemorative T-shirt. My problem is on my last two visits and one prior to these I didn't received credit for the four beers I drank for the mini-beer tour (did get World Tour credit). Two weeks ago during my last visit I asked the waitress why I didn't get credit and she went and asked the manager. She returned and said she didn't enter them in correctly and the manager told her she would have to wait 24 hours to reenter them to get the mini-beer tour credit and assured me she would correct the problem as she worked the next day and kept my receipt to reenter them. Well I went today had a late lunch and another four beers paid and got my receipt which showed that the previous beers were not entered for the mini-beer tour as well as these additional four. I asked her why I once again I didn't get credit. She replied, "I didn't know you were taking part in it." With a face of utter surprise I replied that you saw my World Beer tour card so why wouldn't you think I wouldn't be partaking in it? She said she was sorry and would gladly go and immediately correct her shortcoming as well as the other waitress' mistake. That's when it hit me. They are all clueless at this frickin establishment! If this waitress indicted she could rectify the problem for all the eight beers then either the manger doesn't know his own system and told the other waitress incorrectly or the manger just wanted to jip me again out of credit and have me return again and consume additional beers or this waitress didn't know what she could or couldn't do. Plus I was peeved the other waitress didn't do as she promised she would. I personally think the management trains their staff specifically to be this brainless and obtuse. I told her not to bother as I wouldn't be returning to this establishment or any other Old Chicago establishments in the future. Not that the loss of my $50 per visit will kill their bottom-line or send them into bankruptcy but when friends again ask me to catch a game there or attend a birthday party I'll tell them not no but HELL no! Hopefully that will sway them to pick a different venue. Don't get me wrong, great pizza and beer and I drive 40 minutes from my home in Sahuarita area to get there which says a lot but once you get on my bad side you stay there. P.S. Just blocked their e-mail address from account so I no longer receive business correspondence.

Old C, as my UofA friend calls it, is basically the same as Applebees. Of course, when I mentioned this, my friend quickly stepped to its defense by claiming it has more personality. The memorabilia on the wall does feel a bit less forced and the seating is more private so it feels more restaurant-y then Applebeess, but it isn't anything special. We went on Thursday night for reverse happy hour, and I got a happy hour personal pizza for $4. It was pretty good! I also had a beer. I must say, they do have a great beer selection! Not only do they have a lot on tap, and tons of varieties in bottles, they also have "visiting" beers so there's always something new. At Happy Hour the draft beers are cheap and it's a great deal. I had a lot of fun coming here with a group, but we could have gone anywhere else and had just as good of a time. A fine place to hang out with friends, but nothing special.

Didn't even know this place existed until last night. Went to drink a San Tan Count Hopula after they listed it as one of the bars that was tapping it. Got there and it was packed! (U of A football game night). I figured we would wait an hour before we could get in...Nope less than 15 minutes. They have 30 beers on tap with 15 of them craft beers and two or three from AZ breweries! We order some pints and the Sicilian Pepperoni Rolls..handmade pizza dough, rolled w/ pep, green onions, ranch, pepper jack & mozzarella baked to a crispy brown..Wow! what a great starter! Some more pints and ordered dinner..4 of us shared two medium pan pizzas..I am not a big fan of deep dish pizzas, but damn!...these we're good. We ordered the "Chicago Seven" pep. sausage, mush, black olive, green peppers, red onion, mozzarella and the "Double Deckeroni" crap load of pepperoni both taste perfect with the beer. Great Staff..Great Atmosphere..Good Food..Good Beer..Good Time!

Decent beer on tap! Frozen Strawberry Margaritas are yummy! Portion sizes are huge so it doesn't hurt to split a meal. I usually get a calzone, but have also had the pizza! It's good. Not really a dress up date night place, more of after work, gotta eat something, but don't want fast food place!

Pizza was not good. Dough seamed old. As if it had been hanging around for too long and the yeast was all used up. Making the thin crust pizza rubbery, not crisp. Ocean of cheese had the same quality, flavorless rubber. We had a 16 inch pizza and none of us could even finish one slice. Good selection of beer. Our waitress was nice enough, although did not notice that none of us ate our food. No wonder several other pizza places are alive and well within walking distance.

Old Chicago boasts a worthy library of beers, serves deep dish pizza and creative calzones, and entertains sports loving working folk with the Fuel Channel, hockey, snowboarding, and basketball - a welcome break from joints where the owners' fanhood is apparent as all of the TVs are tuned to the same station. . This is rarely my style, but with a hops lover in tow the OC was a slam dunk. Smithwicks, Molson's, Moose Driool, LaBatt's...these are rarities among the strip mallish chains in the bowels of North Campbell Avenue. The mini meatballs and Mediterranean salad on the small bites menu are yummy. I'm glad OC does not do wings, as they actually do adhere to a Windy City code of bar eats. I realized we were still in Tucson and not in a South Side Chi-town pub when a fetching transvestite asked us to play pool. The tables are decent, if awkardly placed. She said she'd seen us on ESPN hustling pool. Certainly she was mistaken.

For once, I'm going to keep a review short and sweet. The food is decent (although everything that contains tomato sauce tastes almost exactly like their pizza). Their cheesecake is shockingly good (much better than a certain place known for said dessert) and priced reasonably. The service ranges from fun to complete bollocks. The beer selection (especially with the World Beer Tour card) is truly awesome. Bottom-line: Come for the beer, eat some food to soak up the beer, have some more beer, and if you've got any room left, definitely indulge in the cheesecake.

This is a fantastic place to either crash in and watch the game or bring a date and and settle into a booth. Some of the best pizza in Tucson and the pizza cookie is to die for. One of the few places in town with a truly relaxed atmosphere that also has an attentive staff. If you haven't boon to Old Chicago before and you like Italian food or just pizza, you need to try them.

I had the fried macaroni appetizer, a margarita, and the personal deep dish pizza with double pepperoni, and it was all fantastic. The have a great selection of beer as well. The restaurant was a little on the loud side, so I felt like I had to shout to be heard across the table. Overall the service was great, and we were seated quickly, even without a reservation. One note though, if you plan on using the Yelp check-in coupon, you should mention it to your server up front. Our server had to take my phone over to her boss to show him the check-in coupon.

I don't want to be to hard on this place, but it's mediocre at best. For what ever reason the foods all taste the same to me. They seem to always have enough wait staff, but your drinks are normally empty and the food takes a good amount of time to make it to the table. However some people swear by this place. Overrated experience in my book.

Fast service and a very nice selection of import beer wait staff both friendly and helpful if your not sure what to drink beer wise try the flights ( American, international, staff picks ) you get 4 four ounce glasses of beer for $4.49 good choice if you want variety

I'm not a fan of deep-dish or any kind of thick crust pizza usually, but Old Chicago is definitely an exception. I've only had their Chicago-style veggie pizza, so I cannot comment on the other food, but I really love this place. I go at least once a month (and crave it far more frequently than that!) The crust is very buttery and crunchy- which is what sets them apart from many deep-dish places that serve doughy crust (gross). The service has always been decent (for Tucson which has terrible service in general) albeit somewhat slow. I definitely recommend ignoring the bad reviews below (I've learned to NEVER follow Tucsonian reviews on restaurants- the people here have NO IDEA what is good) and giving their deep-dish pizza a try.

Bar food with a lot of pre-packaged sysco crap. Pricey for what it was. Server was unmemorable. It was the bar minimum but that's what I expected. Two stars for their beer selection. So many options down there I don't know why I would ever got back but It's been there forever so somebody must.

Great beer selection and bar service! I wasn't a big fan of this place until I signed up for othe World Beer Tour card. Hands down, I used my WBT card more frequently during my last year of college than my CatCard. I mean, I got $10 back everytime I spent $100 bucks there. I usually go here just to try out new beers, but I also really love their fire roasted spaghetti with meatballs, and their Jamaican jerk chicken wings. All the bartenders here are great! I hate sitting at a table in the dining area or even in the bar because I usually don't get the great service the bartenders offer. Look for me on the Wall of Foam!

My daughter wanted to treat me to dinner at one of our favorite places but it was Sunday and we had a late start, so it was closed. We decided to give Old Chicago a try. The service was terrible. The server got my order wrong, brought my daughter a water she never asked for, and brought our check without ever asking us if we wanted a box for our barely touched food or if we wanted dessert. Speaking of food, it was terrible, the lettuce in the salad was wilted, the other veggies were soggy, and the only tomato in it was past its prime. The pizza was no better than that from a chain delivery place. They say it is Chicago style, but I grew up in Chicago and it does not even come close.

Great beer selection and food is good. All the food Ive tried here has been good. I like the Italian Nachos, the Pepperoni Rolls, the Caprese Salad, and The Classic. Lots of seating and TVs, its a great place to catch the game. Staff is friendly and pretty attentive.

I think this place is popular with the college crowd because it's got a huge beer selection and the food is cheap. It's like your typical sportsbar/restaurant with dark wood paneling and tons of crap all over the walls. Think Applebee's or TGI Fridays, only the food is even less inspired. If you have any sort of taste, just avoid this place. There are a couple of other great restaurants in this same strip mall that far exceed Old Chicago in atmosphere and taste.

Where does every club at the Uni of Arizona choose to hold its club meetings, events, etc. : Old Chicago or the mexican place off of Broadway (cannot re-call the name). Came here with my Indo buddy a few times too, good deep dish. But the reason why all clubs have their meetings here is: - Cheap happy hour - Massive appetizer sampler platters - 3 @ $10+ a piece was enough to feel over 20 people. Great for clubs on budgets. - Within 4 miles of campus Cons: If you are a member of 4 clubs, be willing to come here 4 times in less than 10 days, it gets old, trust me - They messed up my indo buddy and my order every time we came here - Can get pricey outside of happy hour, there are better pizza options in Tucson. - Service can be very slow Still, the pizza by itself the second time around since they messed it the first time every time is a 4 star. Loses a point for service.

I unfortunately walked into Old Chicago not knowing that it was a chain restaurant. I had expectations that this might be Chicago-style food. I was wrong. The food tastes like the junk you could get from a sports stadium. The men's restroom had more piss on the floor than in the toilets. The food was more expensive than it was worth. I don't know why anyone would want to eat here.

Go for the beer, not the food. We have been here a few times and the deep dish style pizza is OK. Sometimes it comes out luke warm. Warning!! We recently tried the Artisan thin style pizza and it was plain awful. We're talking terrible people. The cheapest frozen pizza from the grocery store tastes better than this. Place is noisy as hell too!

The food is not exceptional, but decent. The beer list on the other hand is AWESOME!

They have a good beer selection, I'll give them that. But when I ordered the individual Chicago style "deep dish" with pepperoni and mushrooms, what I got was absolutely NOT deep dish pizza. A good comparison to what I received is Pizza Hut's pan pizza (not that there's anything wrong with Pizza Hut). But seriously come on! Don't try to pass your pizza like its true Chicago style deep dish. Their advertising is a straight up lie.

As many other reviewers have said, the food is what you'd come to expect from a bar/restaurant of this caliber. But the food is honestly an afterthought, since they have 110 beers and every Wednesday they feature new brews and give away the glassware. Try to get there early though, as this is a popular day, and if you're just going to drink, try to snake a spot at the bar because it just makes everything easier. Registering for a World Beer Tour card is a must, even for non-drinkers, as you can accumulate points with food as well, and use the points (100 points per 10 dollars) later for a discount. By registering online you also get a free medium pizza on your birthday. Seeing as how I now have over 50 glasses ranging from simple pint glasses to stanges, steins, and weizen glasses, I would of course recommend Old Chicago for almost any type of occasion.

If you love beer this is the place to be. I've been going here for 5 years now and the staff is generally the same. Its nice to see a place not have a high turnover rate. The food is always great and the happy hour menu really is a great deal. Don't forget to use your World Beer Tour card every time you buy food or drink to gain points. It gives you 10$ free for every $100 you spend!

This place is the all around sports bar and hosts numerous packed in crowds during U of A sports season, beware if you come here during a home game, unless you love loud noises, cheering fans, and people getting way to into their sports teams, unless that is your thing the come on it you will fit right in. Otherwise on a normal day this is a pretty cool place to hang out. It is centrally located, the food is good, and the over 1000 beers to try is awesome. I am on like 45 of that list but I keep trying new ones mostly the staff recommendations which have always turned out well. People here are friendly and tollerate all types from teh mom's with kids, to the fan boys I mentioned about to a girls night out.

My rating is more about the beer than the food. The mushroom burger and deep dish pizza are great here. The happy hour features, among other things, wings and pizza, which my girlfriend and I order. The beer selection is phenomenal and the service is great, particularly in the lounge and bar. Thanks TIm! If you're into dessert, get the pazookie! It's huge.

What can i say about Old Chicago?...Well i'm born & raised in the Chicagoland area, and it certainly feels like home when i walk in! Being in Tucson, Az for over a decade now, this is where my brother and i love to go to get a little taste of home! We've been coming here for years, we know the bartenders by name, as do they! They know exactly what we want as soon as we sit down! Lol. The bar area is great, filled with huge flatscreen tv's for the sports enthusiasts! The dining area has flatscreen tv's in every direction you look, too! Very comfortable feel, waiters are always really cool. You gotta try the wings! Being from Chicago, i definitely approve of their deep dish pizzas!! The huge chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of ice-cream for dessert is delicious, too! My brother and i have been setting up Birthday events here for a couple of years now, just a quick talk to the Manager and we'll have a section Reserved for a party of 15! They usually take those outside in the back patio, which is a great spot to enjoy a nice cool night out! I haven't even mentioned the selection of BEER!! Lol. A selection of 110 Beers from all over the World! Including seasonal beers & an occasional new beer! I've been a member of their World Beer Tour for about a year now, and it definitely comes with some nice perks! Check it out sometime, maybe you'll see us there!

Pretty good food but even more excellent service than most places which is why I give it four stars. If you have a group of twelve people who want to pay separately for a couple of large pizzas, this is a great place. Happy hour is only $1 off well cocktails, so it is not that great of a deal. As far as the pizza, their pizza is very tomato saucy and the crust is like underbaked bread. Their pizzas are not that deep, and usually two or three pieces is enough for one person. Their salads are big and a great match with pizza; the tomato mozzarella caprese seems to be popular but the tomatoes weren't the freshest. $3.50 for that though - awesome deal. I like the drink selections; there is a great beer selection, but I loved my drink - flavored iced tea and random juices - mmmm. $3.50 for those type of drinks. I like how if I was with a group, I could just get a couple of snacks and not pay that much.

Good place, clean. I love the pizza and beer (go figure). I think it's Tuesday or Wednesday that when u order a pint (or what ever they call a glass if beer) and u get to keep the glass.

I know, it's a chain but since we have no Yard House's here in Tucson I revert back to my Colorado days and stick with Old C's. 110 Brews and deep dish pizza equals guy haven. Personally you wouldn't ever catch me in the dining area because that totally defeats the purpose of having 110 brews. The sports bar area is awesome and believe it or not, the Marinara is actually quite good. Also, try the Italian nacho's (they sound weird but are oh, so yummy.)

I just finished my 4th World Beer Tour yesterday (110 beers) and although there has been a few corporate changes since they were bought out by Gordon Biersch, it is still a great place to go for sports, beer & food. They have 4 big screen TV's behind the long bar and 5 or 6 more throughout the bar area and they have every sports package imaginable. So, if you want to see a game that isn't broadcast at home, odds are that it will be shown at OC and all you have to do is ask your server or bartender and they will hook you up. Speaking of hooking youup, the World Beer Tour card not only gives you a place in Beer history on the wall, but you also get t-shirts for mini-tours & $10 credit for every $100 spent. Yes, you heard me correctly - 10% of the money you spend there goes right back to you & my wife & I both got $15 bonus bucks to use for the labor day weekend. We went there for bloody marys, lunch & beers. # hours later, our tab was $17 - not apiece, $17 total. With those prices, the bar staff always get a healthy tip and thus take exceptional care of us in the future - win-win! It doesn't get any better than that.

I know that Sunday's tend to be the "b" team working and that wait staff are generally less enthusiastic due to large parties, screaming kids, and the ever unpopular "church crowd" that tends to act more like unruly, disrespectful heathen, not to mention the smaller than average tips that seem to circulate on Sunday's. That being said...went to Old Chicago on Sunday and had a really unpleasant experience. We were seated at 12:40. There were not many people in the restaurant. Maybe 3/10 tables had people at them, and I think that is being generous. We were the only larger party when we arrived. One other party of 8ish arrived about 30 minutes after we did. But the tables really were not filling up and it stayed about 20-30% capacity while we were there. Our food arrived at the table at 2:08. Yes, that is almost an hour and a half with just our water/soda's on the table. Our waitress never came to apologize for the wait or to let us know how much longer the wait would be. And when our food finally did arrive, our server hadn't even noticed that one of the entree's was completely missing from the order. And there were also 2 entree's that were wrong. I will grant you, we were a larger party. There were 8 of us. But that means that 3/8 orders were messed up in some way. Not a very good stat. 62.5% accuracy. At this point, we asked to speak to a manager. It actually took 2 requests to get the manager out. I get that he may have been busy...but making an angry customer wait is just not a great idea. Once the missing order/wrong orders were made known, he should have immediately come to the table to apologize for that... But I am getting a little ahead of myself. The reason I am writing this review is not just because we had to wait a long time or that our food was wrong. Well, technically, yes those are the reasons...but more than that, it was because there was SO much that could have been done PROACTIVELY to keep this from becoming such a bad experience. 1- If it is going to be a long wait (if 30 min has elapsed and food is not in the window ready to go out) the server needs to be communicating with the table. Let us know that you are on top of it!! Let us know that you are aware that we have been waiting. Let us know how much longer we should expect to wait. Let us know that it MATTERS to you; because honey, your tip depends on our experience. 2- If you have a table that has been waiting more than an hour for food, something needs to be done. First, let your manager know and see what can be done to expedite things. Second, consider doing something like a free appetizer. I am not saying give away the kitchen, but even garlic bread would have been SOMETHING to keep the growling stomachs at bay. And who knows, we may have liked it enough to order it as an appetizer in the future. As it stands, it is pretty questionable whether any of us will be going back to an Old Chicago. Ever. 3- As I mentioned above, If orders are missing/wrong after that long of a wait (especially when you are not terribly busy) get your manager out there immediately. Then you are being proactive and can communicate that you are aware of the situation, and let us know what you are doing to remedy it. And mangers, if your presence has been requested...don't make us get up and go looking for you... If you are busy and cannot get away for a min, send our server back to say that it will be a couple of minutes. COMMUNICATE PEOPLE! And if I am not mistaken, managers should be out walking the floors on occasion to make sure that everything is running smoothly. I believe that is what "floor managers" or "front of house managers" are for. Each one of the above bullets has 2-4 points where things could have been done better. And they should have been done better. This was a very disappointing experience. Incidentally, mine was the order that never got placed. And when they did get around to making it and bringing it out, it was pretty unremarkable. Bummer. I will probably give them a try again....eventually... Not on a Sunday, and with only a couple people next time. See if it gets any better. I sure hope it does.

What's this about Old Chicago having food? Who cares? The beer selection is great, with a bunch on tap and a bunch in bottles (including kind-of regional stuff that I generally haven't been able to find in bars on this side of the country, like Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, which sounds appalling but tastes like nostalgia). This is one of the most fun and spirited places in Tucson to catch a college basketball game (or, presumably, other sports, if you're so inclined); sit at the bar, stare open-mouthed at the huge tv screens, and suck up a hoppy rainbow of flavors.

Good Food, Great service. Regulars here are known on sight and greeted by name. I introduced my self to the bartender and sure enough when we left two hours later she thanked me by my name. If you can snag a seat at the bar, the bartenders really seam to enjoy their jobs and want you to have fun. My husband could tell that the female bartender had no clue about the football on the screens behind her, but thats ok because we got attentive service and she knew everything about beer!!! And the beer is AWESOME over 100 beers. I loved the Jewbelation holiday beer that was recomended to me!! I now want to be a regular at a place I avoided, like an applebees, for years!!!

The Old Chicago World Beer Tour...I never quite got through it even after my years at the U of A. My friends from my foothill's stomping ground, to the new ones around the campus, this is equal-distant and has the most loud, game-day , play by play, real-time, pizza loving patron's (whew! enough said)! Have to love it! Speaking of pizza try the green chili with the black bean sauce pizza (which is actually spicy!) or one of their calzones (or as we would say, "catzones") It is not stupid pretentious "dirt bags" here, so have fun!

Always a good place for happy hour. Service is usually good, friendly, and attentive. Happy hour deals are decent (love my OC Iced Tea) and the Italian nachos are great happy hour choices. Lots of TVs and they are accommodating in that they will change the channels if you have a specific game you want to watch.

Lots of TVs, plenty of tables and stools at the bar. Service was nice but it was, as noted, slow. They did, in the spirit of full disclosure, comp my friend's pasta because it took a very long time (ran out of pasta, it was explained). Old Chicago may be best for happy hour, just by design. There is a set of local brews on tap and a whole range beyond that. It's honestly kind of expensive for a pint if they're not on special, though. Appetizers are crowd-pleasers. Important: The fried pickles were very, very good and I am somewhat of a fried pickle connoisseur. The menu is every combination of carbs and cheese you can summon that's American or Italian-American in profile. That Spaghetti Pie sounds like a monstrous, opulent way to clog my arteries. (Spaghetti with four cheeses AND Alfredo sauce formed into a pie and baked, cut into slices, topped with more cheese and sauce and served.) Mac and cheese with breadcrumbs and proteins and a sprinkling of green onions so it's "fresh". This past visit I had a chicken panini that was basically the ingredients for their chicken mac and cheese on bread instead. It was fine - nothing to write home/on Yelp about, though.

I'd had a craving for a deep dish for a Chicago-style pizza for a couple of weeks and remembered coming here about 10 years ago when I first moved to Tucson. I remembered it was pretty good, and going further back, Pizzeria Uno in Tempe (20 years ago), and Godfathers' Pizza being great pizza. We ordered a 12" Thai Pie and Buffalo Chicken Rolls, and they were both very good. Good enough to order again, frankly. This time around, we did take out. The Thai Pie had a boatload of toppings and ingredients that are too many to list here. The generous slices of roasted chicken, Asian sauces, and broccoli (it actually worked well) were noteworthy. It was a heavy sucker too. Just the way it's supposed to be. The Buffalo Rolls were surprisingly (to me) plentiful (1-2 people, as appetizer), delicious and came with a slightly spicy variation of Bleu Cheese dressing, also plenty. What was REALLY helpful was the PDF Menu on their website with descriptions and pricing. This location has a carry-out parking space. I arrived within 5 minutes of the quoted time, was twice greeted nicely, paid about $30, and was on my way in 5 minutes. I'm ready to try a different Chicago-style pizza restaurant now, but would/will happily have this exact same order here again. It was perfect for one hearty(me) and one regular appetite!

One of my fave hangouts in Tucson. As a proud member of their World Beer Tour, I like to return when I visit Tucson. We had some yummy beer samplers, the seasonal brews were good & the sampler is a deal at $5. The jalepeno pretzels appetizer was out of this world! Jumbo fresh pretzels served with cheesy dip. A must try! The Italian grinder pizza was a crowd pleaser also, it had lots of flavor and lots 'o toppings! And, don't forget to check in for $2 off! Woo-hoo.

In town for the U of A game and looking for a good sports bar. Highly recommend this place food was delicious. Traditional wings and Chicago pizza on point. not to mention the Roasted chicken apple walnut salad just the prefect blend of everything. Will be back on next visit.

The food was ok. It took us 1 hour for an individual inch pizza. We finished our food in 20 minutes because we had to drink lots of water while we were waiting. Then it took us 20 minutes to pay our bills. And the restaurant was not packed at all. Long Waiting!!! But our server was nice.

Old Chicago is an old favorite! Madison took care of us this evening and did an excellent job! We have never had such an speedy and personable experience. $2 pub pizzas and $3 beers is always a crowd pleaser! Jessie is an absolute pleasure and we always look forward to her smile and service! Joseph is a great bartender who knows how to make a killer cocktail! A true alchemist! Old Chicago is the place to be for late-night eats, seemingly endless taps and killer service!

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
