I ate at Native on several occasions, three times with friends, twice with my wife. I always have the same dish: a pound or half-pound of boneless chicken wings, two different sauces - strawberry hot and honey. The cooks are consistent in the way they prepare the chicken. It well cooked, relatively tender and the sauces are yummy. I like their fries too: crisp around, tender inside, well salted. For drinks, I like their strawberry lemonade: not too sweet and lots of (real) strawberries at the bottom. Overall, the food is tasty, and the service is taking care of you. Fast and friendly. I recommend it. I did not give it a 5 star because my wife's experience with her chicken salad was disappointing. The first time she marveled at the salad, saying "it was the best ever". The second time, the dressing was wy too vinegary without the awesome flavors she noticed the first time around. She didn't like the way the chicken had been cooked either. So that inconsistency was a bit of a downer. Yet, overall, I recommend it as a 4 star diner, and I will come back.

Atmosphere: Standard commercial sports bar setting with many booths and tables. Numerous medium sized TVs placed all over the walls. It was clean and still has a feeling of being a newer location. Smallish bar area, mainly seems set up for groups of people (sports bar!) Nothing stands out as special, but there are no negatives. Product: I ordered the 12 pack of wings in one flavor, Hot. This is my go to choice for sampling wings at restaurants. Because this company has Wings in their name one would think that they are proud of their wings, or that they are special. The only unique flavor listed was one that used ghost chili. This is the second time that I have been at one of these restaurant and the second time I tried their wings, hoping that the poor quality wings I received the first time was just a fluke. Second time and at a different location and the wings are still mediocre. The hot flavor is not special, nor is it particularly hot. I do not like the fried nature of the wings, it leaves a greasy feeling. They are very unsatisfying and uninspired. Service: Nothing to rave about here either. We were seated promptly and the sever arrived in a timely fashion. She was friendly, but not engaging. The downfall was after we had finished our food, we sat for about 15 minutes before she noticed that we were ready to go. Conclusion: I tried this place for a second time at a different location hoping to get a better outcome. Average is probably the best I can say about this place. If you are searching for wings there are numerous places that would get my business before this one will again.

So Native New Yorker has changed their name to Native now. I just had lunch at a native and they are now charging $.90 for one wing. Not to mention that the wings are about half the size of any competitor out there serving buffalo wings. On top of that, the wings that I was served were cooked a while ago and had been sitting under a heat lamp. I know this because they were dried out and were brought out to me within about 2 min of placing the order. Last I checked, it takes longer than 2 min to cook wings. I used to love Native but I will never be returning again now. They are serving sub par food and charging way too much for it. Buffalo Wild Wings is way better.

Went here after bowling with new friends, and the food was great. They were busy, but not so busy to justify the 20 minute wait for drink orders. By the time we got the food, my date and I had to rush through eating to make a movie time. But they did have my favorite cider to enjoy while we waited. But the food was very good! I got the California Cluck and it was very well made. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, the toppings were fresh, and they added extra pickles like I asked! I love pickles... While I can't remember what everyone else ordered, they all seemed very happy with their food and beverage choices. I would definitely come back here and give the service another chance, and give myself a chance to try something else yummy!

Great discounted wings, friendly staff and quick service. One of my favorite places to go on a game day.

Great Place to catch a game with good bar food and drink specials. Comparable to a Buffalo Wild Wings, Chili's or Applebee's. I've only visited a couple of times and haven't really found anything on the food menu that is to die for. Love the Habanero Margarita, a Must Try! Overall Service was friendly and prompt, restaurant is clean and I'd recommend giving it a try.

I went here for a business lunch. My partner and I ordered chicken tenders, mine was the honey hot flavor. As usual they were fantastic. I will definitely come to this location again. They have great customer service and met all my needs including keeping my beverage filled as it was a hot day.

Came here for lunch, literally ordered the cobb salad and a large icetea. Service was super fast, salad was fresh and good, and waiter even refilled my icetea to go! I was definitely happy with being able to get in and out within 30 mins.

My boyfriend and I have been to native many times. On Sunday's during football season they host the bills backers club of Tucson, which is a lot of fun if you are a buffalo bills fan. Their wings are good, their drinks are inexpensive on Sunday's which makes it a good place to watch the game at. I do think that sometimes they are overpriced, for example we got 1/2 pound boneless wings with 12 wings and a side of fries to go once and it was $23. Kind of pricey. They have a large menu so there's something for everyone. On busy football game days their staff is not attentive- I do have to agree with other yelpers reviews on here about that...but on any other day that I've dined with them I've experienced good service. I have experienced my fair amount of poor service though that's why I put 3 stars.

I love the variety of wings here, plus we sat at the bar and played trivia with some of the neighborhood locals and had a blast! We also ordered the blue cheese buffalo dip which is served with tortilla chips and it was a big bowl of gooey melted nacho cheese with chunks of blue cheese and a slight flavor of buffalo hot sauce! A delicious pairing with their top notch bloody Mary's and some honey hot chicken wings! Service is great. This is a fun place for happy hour 4-7! Stop in, play some trivia and enjoy some great munchies! Eat and live well

What happened to this restaurant? Wings have tanked. They used to be great when it was native New Yorker. Food has gone downhill. Waitress would not let us sit at a table for 6 at lunch even though my son and I were the only ones there at 11 am on Saturday. When we left, there were only 2 more tables occupied. Ruben was ok although pretty greasy. Salad was actually good with no iceberg lettuce. That was the only bright spot.

What you would expect for a bar food chain restaurant. They have happy hour from 4-7pm where you get $3.75 22ox domestic drafts and $4.75 22 oz "import" beers (Sam Adams and Blue Moon don't seem imported to me, but they were more expensive). 1/2 off apps too. I have had the "strippers" twice now, just average saucy chicken tenders, but you do get many sauce selections. However, the one saving grace, is that they actually have REALLY good pizza. Lots of TVS, lots of seating.

It's alright food. The plus about this place was there was hardly anyone there for the Sunday night game. The server forgoth friends drink. It was a Bloody Mary and on top of that when the manager brought it. It tasted like water down tomatoes. The server was not attentive. And I think over cost for the service provided.

I had a great experience here for lunch. Wendy went the extra mile in every aspect in making sure everything was done right. Service was prompt, food was delivered in a timely manner, and tasted great! I put in more orders of food in the middle of my meal and it still came out quickly, a big plus for lunctime! It's always nice when your server is a step or two ahead of knowing what you need before you even need to ask for it.

Wow! The worst service. Completely empty restaurant, Saturday at 1 pm, two women discussing a group coming in, and me. I asked for a table for one, two staff ignored me while they listened to the other conversation for 5 minutes THEN told me I couldn't bring in my empty tervis cup. Didn't even get to sit down, ignore me a waste my time, I will go down the street to May's thanks!!

Good wings and club sandwich. Stella on tap was yummy. Good friendly staff. In my opinion a good staff and good food makes a place.

Native is always the wing spot for us especially on Tuesdays. The honey-hot are the best. The prices are reasonable and on Tuesday they are awesome. The other item that is a must try are the Buffalo Chicken Nachos. The service is always great even when it is packed.

I will never understand the appeal of chain restaurants that serve mid-grade bar food, but if they're going to exist, they should at least serve great wings. The ones I ordered were swimming in an ocean of their own grease and I had to wipe off most of the dry rub because it was overwhelmingly salty. If you want wings, go to WingStop or Wings over Broadway or anywhere but here because the wings were not very enjoyable. This is a good place to meet a lot of friends, if your friends like mid-grade bar food, and also 360 degrees of big screen TVs playing sports. We were meeting a lot of friends and were cozy in the back room (we were about two dozen and the room was packed). Service was bizarre. No one wanted to take my order. I mean, literally, a server took my husband's order and walked away without even looking at me. More servers came and went without looking at me. When I finally called out to one and tried to order he said he was going to fill my water glass and come back later to take the order. When I finally did order, the server went away again without taking anyone else's order. My food took forever to come out; I was basically the last person served, even though lots of people ordered way after me. At least they kept the water glasses full. It is what it is: a chain restaurant where you can watch the game and eat mediocre fried food. But then again, you could watch the game at Chuy's and eat great tacos. So I still don't understand the appeal.

Had lunch here today for the 2nd time in 2 weeks and it was fab. 1st time I had the mushroom burger with fries and he had bacon cheeseburger with fries with a mozzarella cheese sticks appetizer. The sticks were made with a great cheese that did not turn to grease and then coated with parmesan. The marinara dipping sauce was excellent with big chunks of tomato and onion. The burger flavor was so yummy it tasted like it was grilled outside. Today I had the Friday fish fry with an added cup of chowder and he had a club sandwich. The fish was battered and fried perfectly...light breading and crunchy. The coleslaw was delish...fresh, crisp, and not overly coated in sauce. The flatbread that came with it was flavorful, but I just am not a flatbread type of person...seemed strange with the fish...could have done without it. The fish portion was huge. He said the club sandwich was the best he had ever had. I can say this place uses the best ingredients and the staff are friendly and check in for refills often.

Had the fish sliders (ok). Your typical "University student" joint and the atmosphere was loud. I would come back here again to try the desert (by the look of the pictures on here). Good for watching the game...

We went in late but Chris the bartender and Carlos in the kitchen gave us great service and made sure we had everything we needed. We have gone in before and always had good experiences and this time didn't let us down. It's a great spot for games, wings and beer!

I'm from New York. You sir, are no Native New Yorker. Who puts weird hotsauce on fish? I mean, it's okay. Typical sports bar decor. Typical sports bar food. I ordered the fish sliders. They were okay. Not very flavorful. The pretzel buns are fantastic, however. The beer was cold and delicious. The tots are tasty. So, that's something. My girlfriend ordered a salad with strawberries and such. She ended up sending it back because it wasn't very good. I don't know. I didn't hate it. I didn't like it. I wouldn't avoid it for a beer and tots with friends. But I wouldn't seek it out for a tasty meal. Meh.

Good sports bar, decent bar food, wings. I like the beef on kummelweck is only thing I get there now. Big place so seating usually not an issue even for the big game. I've always had good service here too.

This place was great, I was taken there by friends while I was in town. Nice atmosphere, the service was good. It reminded me of buffalo wild wings but still nice to try something different. I would go back when in town again.

The food has never been stellar--though they're trying new things--but the karaoke is amazing. Chuck is the best host in Tucson. This particular Native might have a two or even one star rating if it weren't for the great karaoke and their obvious attempts at improvement. Instead of a one day wing special a week, they're now offering different wing special almost everyday. The wings aren't to die for, but they are pretty flavorful and the strawberry-hot might rate on someone's best-of list. If you hate ranch, like I do, make sure to specify. Otherwise, you'll almost certainly get a plate where the ranch has been accidentally spilled over half the otherwise--somewhat, sort of sometimes--delicious wings. We tried some other starters this time and, no, it wasn't worth it. The potato skins were cold and a grease-tastic (which would have been fine, except the were soggy as well). And the disaster they call nachos was belly-turning and soaked through with a plastic tasting cheese sauce that overpowered the taste of the actual cheese melted over the whole. The chips, which because off the swampiness could hardly be picked up, were also terribly broken apart; almost crumb like. In my mind, any place that is capable of making nachos worse than do-it-yourself microwave-a-minute chips and cheese needs to seriously consider making some hardcore menu "adjustments." In other words, make them better or just throw it all away... But, the new members of the staff are pleasant even though the restaurant, when busy, seems to be terribly understaffed. Some of the bartenders are great, some are a little full of themselves. The girl working on Friday was a doll and was training someone too. Extra points for positivity while under duress. Another plus: It's a great place for a first time new friend meeting experience. I met a new group of friends for the first time there and we all really hit it off. It's a low key, no pressure, neighborhood happy hour kind of place. The problem is that it's also a part of a chain of places that I've been to before and, in the past, I've had much better food eating experiences. I hope you folks get it together, I love coming in to grab a brew and sing a few tunes. -FFF Postscript: Could you please get some umbrellas for the patio? It just looks so half-assed out there.

NNY is my FAVORITE place to spend a Friday night! Food is phenomenal, staff is wonderful... but lately, there is something missing. KARAOKE. Chuck always seemed to have the crowd going crazy every week! Not sure why he's gone, but it's time to GET HIM BACK!! I'm sure that I'm not alone here... other than that, keep up the great work!!

Native New Yorker is more of a four star place, however I'm giving it a five since of the unjust hate it's getting. Service was actually good and the wings were good, however not the best I've tried. I've tried these "local" places people brag about here and most of them have sucked. I don't know why people hate chains so much. If local places were so awesome they'd become chains since they'd expand. Restaurant is well kept, which is a huge plus in my book and the food is moderately priced so it's worth going to.

Met up with friends before the UA basketball game (White Out against UCLA) for a quick happy hour and my review is based solely on beer and wings. Ahhh, beer and wings. Those are lovely words aren't they? We got a high top table for 4 and were promptly greeted by our server and placed our drink orders. $4 22oz Blue Moon or Dos Equis and 49 cent wings? Yes please. We each ordered six wings; two different flavors each within our orders so we had quite the variety. I went with the Salt & Pepper (kosher salt, black pepper and garlic) and the Asian Garlic. Both were good, nothing OUTstanding but tasty. Let's see...my friends got the Strawberry Hot, the Hot, the Asiago Parmesan Dusted and the Mild. All were good and I wanted to love the Asiago Parmesan Dusted but they were boring. My favorite was the Salt & Pepper - not so much a "wet" wing but more of a rub with a nice salty, garlic flavor. Our server got us out quickly and efficiently so we could make the game in time. And as for parking? I hear you people, the parking can get a little ridiculous but don't you all remember when it was Chuy's? The parking was just as bad on busy game days and during Friday happy hours. It's a big lot and they get busy. Deal with it. I do miss Chuy's at that location. It holds personal and fond memories for me but time goes on, things change and Native New Yorker, I welcome you!

First time here. Had low expectations since the Native I go to in Laveen sucks. Pleasantly surprised. Great bar staff named Chris. Selection of tap beers but great though. Had fun playing

My experience here could be succinctly described with a resounding "NO." The food arrived to our table really cold. The chicken tenders hardly had any sauce. It was almost a joke how little sauce the tenders had. The wait for food was too long. The sauces were incredibly salty. Almost unbelievably so. The majority of restaurant food is salty but this was just ridiculous. Nope, not coming back again.

The couple of times I have been, I have been happy with the food. I can understand the complaints about the price point... unless you partake of one of their specials, which we did on our last visit. We got the Native $20 special. You got to pick an appetizer to share and an entree from a selected list. We shared the Spinach-Artichoke dip. Had I paid $8.29 for this, I would have been upset. As part of the special I could handle it. I got the Bronx Calzone and my wife got the Native Stripper platter. My wife's Native strippers were all-white meat chicken tenders doused in choice of sauce. She chose the BBQ sauce. She said they were very moist and tender and the fries and coleslaw that came with it were more than she could eat probably because of the Spinach-Artichoke dip. Oh that dip... it was (am I really saying this) too cheesy. This along with the cheese and diced up meats (salami, pepperoni and ham) in my calzone and I swear I could feel my arteries closing up. Don't get me wrong - I liked the food - but if you become a regular here, prepare yourself for a heart attack. In other words... it's good bar food. On a previous visit we tried other things: Beef on Weck, Wings, Burgers, etc. All of it was good. Service was OK, but for some reason, they seemed to be obsessed with my wife's margarita. At least three people asked her how her margarita was. I finally had to chime in, "Yeah, my beer's fine too." They complete the sports bar scene with TONS of TV's, a full bar and a decent selection of beers on tap including a solid IPA (Sierra Nevada Torpedo). All in all, a nice addition to the area food scene and, IMO, an upgrade from the Chuy's that used to be in this location.

I stopped in here for lunch after remembering people saying the wings were amazing...at the Glendale, AZ location. Figured they'd be the same in Tucson. The service was great, super friendly waitress, but the wings were TERRIBLE. I had the boneless and they tasted like cold frozen wings. I'm still disgusted thinking about them and it was 9 hours ago. The tater tots were actually quite impressive but the wings were bad.

This is my fourth time trying this location. We always have a horrible time. The food is good for the most part. I did receive spoiled cole slaw one time though. The service is horrible and we always wait entirely too long for drinks, food and even to be seated. The location on Cortaro is always good and we thought this one would get better with time. Unfortunately it hasn't. This will be my last time at this location.

Great wings. Very pleased with the dry rub wings - not dried out at all and not greasy either. Awesome setup with the TVs, great place to watch a game!

Good Food + Cold Beer = a Great Lunch! We decided to give Native New Yorker a shot after a morning round of golf (although the reviews of the one in Glendale, AZ are less than impressive). We we're greeted and seated promptly and our server (I think his name was Chris) had beers and water out in a matter of minutes. I had the patty melt with fries (a safe bet) and the total came out to about $30 for 2 people including 2 rounds of drinks. Great place to have lunch, catch a game or have a cold beer (they have drink specials on Tuesdays). 4 Stars ****.

FAST Review : 2 out of 5 * Food - 2/5 Got some of the buffalo chicken pretzel-bun sliders, cuz pretzel buns are awesome, right? The buns were a little on the bland side if you ask me. Not enough of that "pretzel-y" flavor, and maybe missing salt. On the other hand, the buffalo chicken was a little too salty for my taste, and the buffalo sauce flavor was just a tad overpowering. Fries were average. Overall, not impressed with the food. Ambiance - 3/5 Typical chain restaurant feel. Some high tables and booths. Service - 4/5 Our server was enthusiastic. Satisfied with the service. Total Impression - 2/5 Parking was a mess. The lot is very small and we ended up parking next door in Rum Runner lot. Was also dark out in the lot at the time. The food reminded me of an Applebee's, nothing special.

This place is basically just a Sports Bar with crap food. This is in no way a reflective of the food coming out of Upstate New York. There are a few classics like Beef on Wreck and Garbage Plates, but absolutely horrible quality. The wings even suck. This franchise is a place you will enjoy watching a sports game, and that's about it. THUMBS DOWN!!!

    (1)
  • Patrick H.

Been here twice. Service is great but the wings were half full of oil. Definitely do NOT order the Asiago flavor. Worst. Decision. Ever.

  • C B.

Its alright bar food. A little more expensive then its worth. Super greasy and salty. Place is usually busy and they have a full bar. The most redeeming quality is their waitstaff, super awesome and good sense of humor. Even though I was with a group, they didn't bat an eyelash, they joked with us and even remembered us from the last time we were there.

I couldn't find the grand slam or moons over my hammy anywhere on the menu. So, Denny's opened a sports bar that doesn't serve breakfast or have any of the reasons why one might eat at a Denny's. The food is salty and uninspired. The drinks are made with cheap booze. I will not be eating here again. The service was great, that's about it though. 2 stars because its close to my house. At least I saved on gas.

    (2)
  • Liz G.

My three star review isn't base on the food at Native New Yorker. It's base on the tv's! Lots and lots of tv's, all showing different sports! I love that. The atmosphere was bright and open, and our server was prompt and polite. They even switched on a specific baseball game we asked for. The beer selection was good, and the menu was extensive. However, the food itself wasn't too great. It was edible, but unmemorable. It was also pretty expensive. The Stripper platter we had was small for what you paid, and the house pizza was pretty soggy. I would probably come back to watch a game and have a drink, but steer clear of their food.

Sorry to say, but the food was not good. Burgers and Turkey Sandwich tasted "old". Won't be going back.

Native Grill & Wings is the new name used by this restaurant chain. I am personally not a wing eater but I certainly see many people chowing down on them when I visit this location. As a regular, I appreciate the excellent service and customer-friendly attitude of the entire staff from the minute you walk in the door until you leave. After so many visits, I am obviously aware of the fact that this is a chain restaurant but that aspect of the place does not register much with me anymore. I have tried most items on the menu and have enjoyed some more than others. That is pretty typical for any restaurant. Bottom line is that the food delivered to the table is what you want to eat or not. If not, send it back with instructions on how you want it done over correctly or order something else. The staff will work with you to fix your problem and managers are always available. As someone who eats out at least 10 times per week, I am concerned about the service provided by the people, the overall cleanliness of the restaurant, and the variety of quality meals available on the menu. Native gets five stars from me for doing an excellent job in those three areas. The large amount of seating available, trivia nights, available party rooms, TVs available for watching any sport desired, and the central location with lots of parking are just a few other reasons why this restaurant is a good place for lunch or dinner by yourself or with family/friends.

Was driving by and stopped by instinct. It must have been smell of honey and chicken, because these guys make the most awesome "Honey Hot" wings. So sweet and hot. They were some of the best wings I have ever tasted. Chris, our Bartender, gave us the best service. Everything was fast. The food was hot and tasty. The drinks were cheap and cold. (Not exactly cheap, but very reasonable.) It was a great first time experience. My only complaint is that this place is quite a drive from my side of town. But...I will definitely return.

  • Ian V.

I didn't eat here but I did go in for a drink. Expensive! $7.00 for a shot of Crown? Really? You know we're not really in New York, right? Also, the bartender was another "too cool for school" type. Are bartenders told not to smile and engage their guests nowadays? What happened to customer service? I don't think I'll be back. Why would I? Just another chain restaurant.

    (2)
  • Samuel H.

Got dragged here...it's exactly what I thought it would be. The wings tasted frozen and fried in week-old oil. Only got through four of them and then had to stop. The bartender was a complete joke. He spoke to people as if he was god's gift to bartending...you work at Native New Yorker bud...chill out. There are barely any windows in the place so you feel somewhat trapped. At least there are plenty of tvs to take your eyes off the eye sore that is the decor of the place. Trust me...I won't be back.

This was my first visit and my last. I ordered a California Burger which looked fantastic in the picture on their menu. When I received it the four people at my table including me looked in amazement how small it was especially for 9.50. My wife made the comment she thought it was a slider the other people thought so also but they forgot to bring me the other two because usually you get three. literary 5 bites it was gone but it did come with about 10 French fries. So I had the burger my wife had a lettuce chicken wrap and we both had a happy hour beer and with the already added in tip charge I guess because people would not voluntarily leave one with quality of food and service it came to 33.00. For 33.00 I can go to a nice place for a nice meal. The place was noisy and the service slow.

Decent food, floors are slippery due to the chosen ground décor. It's a sports joint with several TV's but it's an upgrade from other local sports bars around Tucson.

Enjoyed my time. Service was good, food was good. I would eat here again. I liked the fact they had strips, not just boneless and traditional wings. I loved the pulled pork queso.

Service was great! Ordered the chicken Caesar salad for lunch. It was decent but very light on dressing. So light actually that it was like they spritzed the lettuce with water & that was it.

As I've stated, I hate to downgrade a review, but sometimes I have to. We usually get wings and appetizers carryout for our beloved Cowboys games. Last night, the food was as bad as the game. My husband ask them upon ordering if they could mix the hot and suicide sauces together, then toss the wings. It's not that he can't handle the heat, but the suicide is very pasty. We also ordered mozzarella sticks. Okay, he gets back and his wings had a spoonful of suicide in the middle, then the hot poured all around. They weren't mixed and the wings apparently weren't tossed in the sauce. They were put in a container, then sauced. Their ranch used to taste like homemade and came in wide containers, perfect for dipping wings. Now it tastes like bottled, and is in little, impossible to dip containers. The mozzarella sticks had no marinara for the second time, and didn't taste the same as before. We were so happy to find a place for game day food so close, but after this, we'll start searching again.

Native is like gambling when going out - you either will have above average bar food, or awful, incompetent service and inedible slop. Instead of firing bad employees, the manager loves to just move them around. Avoid the frizzy hair lady at the bar, she is time and time again the worst server I have ever dealt with. If it wasn't for the strippers deal, I'd never step foot in another native again.

Hairy Crust makes this place a bust... So new restaurant, football sunday, and a place that has lots of TV's, pizza, and other food. The layout and TV placement is great, the seating comfy, and the atmosphere fun. That's where the positives stop and the 1 star reviewing starts. Staff - Apathy is the word of the day here. No energy, no joy, no enthusiasm, no passion, no concern. Our waitress was extremely indifferent, rushed us to order, and was not pleasant at all. Food - mediocre with a sprinkle of hair to season it up. I had a flatbread that was ok it was bacon chicken and ranch nothing mindblowing but not terrible. My wife ordered pizza and I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich. My sandwich was ok but was dry and underwhelming. My wifes pizza was not that great and to add to the issues it had hair baked into the crust. Not on the crust, not on the pizza but BAKED INTO THE CRUST....needless to say appetite ruined. Manager was helpful offered to do whatever it took to make us happy but to me it was too late for that. They did take the pizza off the tab but what a disgusting experience.

I hate chain restaurants and will never go into an Apple Bee's or Chili's; but Native is far more than a "chain restaurant". The food is great and taste fresh every time. The menu selection is awesome, there really is something for everyone. The staff is helpful and friendly and really gets to know their guests. They do a lot of community interaction and is the best place to watch U of A sports.

We stopped in a while ago to try out their Tuesday wing/beer special and although that's all we had we weren't disappointed. The restaurant was mostly empty which we didn't mind. On Tuesdays there's a 49 cent wing special along with $4 20oz Dos Equis or Blue Moon beers so we proceeded to feast. We tried the salt and pepper, hot, mandarin and pineapple teriyaki. The hot wasn't very spicy but other than that we enjoyed all the flavors and of course the cheap beer. Our server was attentive without being annoying and although I am not a fan of chain restaurants I would try this place again.

This place used to be a Chuy's, so I was hoping that the new business that took its place would be comparable. Nope. Mediocre food, high prices, and small portions. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, so to go into a place that calls itself "Native New Yorker" should make me feel nostalgic or remind me of home, right? Nope. The food here is more comparable to Applebee's than something unique to New York. Oh, and this place is inspired by Buffalo New York, not New York City. And if I want Buffalo Wings, I can go to Hooters for a fraction of the price and much better scenery. If you want a place that serves great food at reasonable prices, this isn't the place.

I am actually not sure where to begin. The entire experience was horrible. My lady and I had a short wait to get a table, which was nice. But the hostess was crowding tables, leaving large spaces unpopulated. This atmosphere was noisy. The waitress took some time to get around to taking our drink menus and I ordered an appetizer at the same time. The food was dropped off sometime later and was bland, tough while bordering on over cooked. As for the waitress she never addressed our table again. Multiple times she walked by without asking for our orders or refreshing our ice teas. After fifteen minutes we started to talk with the people in the next table. They had been treated the same way and advising us to try other local restaurants. The rest of the staff appeared just as clueless. After another ten minutes my lady and I gave up. Paying on our way out we found that the food was not only poor but horribly overpriced.

Not sure about the other reviews here but I enjoyed myself and our food and drink Went there for Sunday football. Our server was one of the better servers I have had in a while and was a giant of a man named Brandon. He couldn't have been more attentive to us and his other tables. Never ran out if my drink or water, had our food promptly and it was good solid bar food at a price you would expect.. Those of you stating this is no better than Applebee's or Chili's, IT IS AN APPLEBEE'S AND CHILI's. This is a chain restaurant that turned a horrible corner (Chuy's) with horrible food and service into something enjoyable for sports fans. Great place to watch sports and eat bar food, if you are expecting more, I suggest you go somewhere else. I will return for more

what a great place to get a bite, have had a few different items and all were great. the french dip and the chips were as good as it gets. good service, fast kitchen and a clean, friendly spot is nice. will go back often as I can. kudos to Lindsay y for her spot on service, there but not hovering

We were very disappointed to hear that you dropped DJ Chuck, the food is nothing special, but ok, you should seriously consider bringing back Chuck...my rating would go up....

Went on a Thursday night after work, with a friend and my hubby. The place is really nice size and plenty plenty of tvs with any and every sport you want to watch. The downside is that the parking sucks. It sits on the speedway corner and so the rear parking is very tight and people tend to park adjacent to the wall behind you, hence blocking you in. The Buffalo wings are GREAT AND PLENTIFUL! My friend had the fish sliders and said they were good. My hubby had the burger and I had friend shrimp. All were very good. I had been to this restaurant in Phoenix which was much larger, but overall the food tasted the same quality. Great place to hang with friends and watch some games! Full bar also was in effect. Our waiter was very attentive and kept checking with us to see if we needed anything, this all while the restaurant was busy.

I have to ask~ when was this place opened?? Went to happy hour with the ladies at work and it was interesting... The "main" door did not have any signage so half of us actually circled the buidling before going in because the entrance is one door with no signage indicating that this is where you enter. Our server was nice (maybe nervous nice), but I think she was new or the places was new, or maybe she didn't have server experience alltogether... she kept having to check on what things were or forgot things that we asked for, such as a glass. My co-worker ordered a Tom Collins, which I thought was a pretty standard type of drink, but we told her what was in it, and politely suggested that the bartender should know what that is (eeks...) We found out all appetizers are half off during happy hour, which was cool. So basically we had our own appetizer... I had the loaded steak fries. They were okay, a little on the salty side. So with the appetizer, a couple of beers and a cocktail, my bill came out to $20. The place is clean with flat screens hanging around the place, so if you wanted to watch the game you don't have to be by the bar (we weren't). I'm hoping this place is new and that it gives their servers a little more help with training.

Great place to watch a game. Lots of TVs. Food is so so. Buffalo chicken sliders with the hottest wing sauce are pretty good.

We went here last night about 730-8 and there were maybe 4 tables including ours. So needless to say, but I will anyways, it was pretty empty. We were a party of three and it was my friends birthday. I know that two of us will never go back there. The food quality was really bad and for it being so slow we thought it'd be great. Nope, so wrong was us! The service was poor too. My question is: WTF? I'm not a typical complainer, but oh my gawd... what is wrong with people now a days? Is customer service just out the window now? Do these young folks just have no idea about how to treat hard working paying customers? After going to the bathroom after dinner and seeing the filth around the sink, I've decided to not go out to dinner every again! Lol... Ya right! But I'm going to be as honest as I need to be on these reviews. Native New Yorker, you might be able to get away with the bullshit in New York, but in Arizona, we want good service and Good food. If that's to much to ask then that's just too bad. On behalf of the manager, he did comp one of our meals, which really didn't matter after the fact, my son was hungry, so hungry after working all day and ate his yucky meal. So, maybe I'll give them another try, but stick to the wings they are supposedly famous for! Naw...i WILL NOT go there again!

I received a soggy chicken wing meal with a piece of glass or plastic in it. Meal was free, but they took the plate ( with most of meal still left) and they didn't bring out a different one. So I guess you can say they gave me 2 pieces of chicken, including the one with glass or plastic, on the house for making my gums bleed.

I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! The wings were greasy and just covered in sauce, some of the wings had pink in them,You DO NOT serve pink chicken! Ever! The tater tots tasted like the old oil they were made in and they tried to cover with too much salt. The "grilled" chicken was not cooked on the grill, it seemed to of been boiled or steamed with no salt or stock then placed on the grill for 1 minute to get 2 lines from the grill but none of the flavor it was the blandest chicken I have ever eaten. On top of everything after saying something about the chicken both wings and grilled they comp 2dlls for a 43+dlls meal for 2 people we didn't eat half of the food and they didn't care. Do not waste your money. They shame New York Food because the real one is nothing like that.

Service was lacking. Wings tasted frozen then fried with sauce poured on. Wings should be crispy and tossed in sauce.. salad was ok kinda hard to mess up a salad. Never got extra napkins or wet wipes until we asked.....I waited 10 min for a water refill that was dropped at the table as the waiter went to his next table..... Most likely won't go back....

Hungry and in need of a bite to eat, "The Native Newyorker" seemed like the perfect place to ease my stomach pains. I expected, with a name like "Native newyorker" to see a high class place opened late. this couldnt be farther from the truth. The place was casual at best, overly loud karaoke, and the smell of bar food. However this is no big deal, a simple twist in my super awesome palate and I can enjoy the most basic of bar wings, burgers, etc. *click* bam, ready for action. The server approached and was quick to get our orders in the friendlist of manners, however the karaoke was so loud (yes loud even for karaoke... like WAY louder than normal karaoke) that the server couldnt hear us and brought cheese sticks instead of the blue cheese chips. no problem at all. understandable. the chips finally came. awful. It was a beautfiully fried bunch of chips, perfectly cut, then ruined with a drenching of cold blue cheese dressing that must of been bought in the store down the street. Next came my main meal: the Ribs, quite a treat for bar food. unfortunately the ribs were just as awful, bland and tasted worse than meat at a TGIF. the BBQ sauce was equally as awful, which is actually more amazing than anything else... I mean, c'mon man... its BBQ... Great and friendly staff. but the best server in the world can't make up for dismal food and an annoying atmosphere. overall:Don't let the name fool you, this is a place you go after your 5th shot of tequila, not for a place to quench your palate.

Meh. I'm so meh about this place. It's boring chain/sports bar food...wings, burgers, salads, chicken tenders, pizzas...meh. Ambiance is so boring. Service is a bunch of kids with no serving experience but they're friendly enough. TVs aren't even that great for being a "sports bar". It's just all super generic and boring.

This place has great food and fantastic service. I usually come in on a Tuesday or Thursday for their $0.50 wing deal. The wait for a table is never more than 5 minutes even when a game is playing, and food rarely takes more than 15 minutes to be served. The only food I've tried are their traditional wings, and loaded steak fries appetizer. They never disappoint: full of flavour, and comes out pipin' hot! Their wing sections are normal sized (not mutantly large or scrawny), and always come with a side of dressing of your choice (ranch or blue cheese) and celery sticks at no additional cost. The wing sections are never overcooked or undercooked, and are good to the bone. Here is my attempt at describing the chicken wing flavours: Hot: traditional buffalo style, hot and vinegary sauce Honey BBQ: sweet and smokey sauce Barbeque Hot: spicy incorporated BBQ sauce Honey Hot: spicy and sweet sauce Asian Garlic: garlicky and sweet sauce Pineapple Teriyaki: traditional teriyaki sauce, sweet glaze Asiago Parmesan Dusted: butter drenched, powdery cheese confection Out of all of these flavours, my favourites are the Hot, Pineapple Teriyaki, and Asiago Parmesan Dusted. Overall, this restaurant is a Tucson rare. I'd never thought I'd support a chain-restaurant, but this is an exception. This branch incorporates courteous service, great food, and cleanliness for an exceptional experience. My favourite one-stop wing-stop in Tucson!

so we stop by for some lunch on a Sunday for some wings that's it. the server was not to happy with the our small order of 24 wings . i figured we order more, ones we tried the wings out but the wings were so small that we didn't want to order anymore.the waiter was sure we weren't gonna tip him that he had our ticket in hand when we call him over. by far the smallest wings in Tucson. this was my second time at this location and we wont be returning

First of all the front door does not look like the true entrance, maybe it's me but it was a completely awkward getting to the front door, we walked from the loft. Upon entering the front desk slash hostess stand had way too many people standing around it, then I noticed all the servers were entering their orders there, this was bot underwhelming and overwhelming at the same time (not good, I felt like I had interupted the employee break room). Upon entering the bar area, it was noisy without being packed, and lit up like an KGB interrogation room (not that I have been in one). There are about a thousand TVs and nothing interesting or festive in the space. The hostess put us in the middle of the room and I was not digging it (I was just waiting for Borris to pull a tooth , or chop off one of my fingers), so I spotted a empty booth, and asked if we could sit there, she kinda was a little bitchy about it but sat us there anyway. Then came the menu, 15 different salads, 30 diff rent kinds of wings, 30 different pizza's, it went on and on and on. I could not even focus on anything it was a nightmare, I figured if they tried to do that many items there was nothing good to be had. The waiter Jake was nice and helpful, I just asked him what he would eat and I did the same. I had the Italian beef sandwich, it was okay, he said the fries were fresh but I am pretty darn sure they were frozen. This place was too much in so many ways and really not enough for me to ever go back. The food was edible, but that is not enough for me to go back.

Today was the grand opening of Native New Yorker on Speedway so I went over there to check it out for lunch. The place was full, but after only a 5-minute wait I was seated at the bar. The joint has a hip vibe, and everything was clean. Service was prompt and pleasant; in fact, everyone I interacted with (hostess, etc.) was polite and friendly. Now for the food. I had one of the lunch specials, a dinner salad and 1/2 pound of "strippers" (boneless chicken strips) for $7.29. I felt like I HAD to order that because it appeared that ordering wings would yield only.... wings, and I was correct. You do get your choice of wing sauce, and since "mild" wasn't even buffalo sauce but some kind of butter-herb concoction, and "hot" consisted of straight hot sauce (WTF?), I opted for "medium." The dinner salad was nothing special and consisted of iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, topped off with grated cheese. Ho-hum. The strippers came with no sides -- not even the classic accompaniment of celery sticks and blue cheese dressing -- so it's a good thing I ordered that dinner salad. A little cup of ranch dressing came with them, though. (I don't like that with my wings, I'm a traditionalist and want blue cheese; besides the blue cheese just naturally goes along with buffalo sauce.) The strippers were hot and tender but DRY. WHERE was the sauce? There was only a SLIGHT coating of sauce on the strippers, and apparently that is the norm at NNY based upon other online reviews that I've read. Sorry, NNY, but I want TONS of SLOPPY sauce that I can SOP UP! NNY'S sauce was bland and unidimensional and VERY mild to the point of being almost tasteless/nonexistent. IMO both Chili's and Claim Jumper have better wings because their SAUCES have FLAVOR. Also they are SOAKING in the stuff, and because it tastes so good you can't help but LICK IT ALL UP! I haven't been to Wings Over Broadway but will be going there later this week to check it out. If you want to do great wings at home, pick up a bottle of Frank's Red Hot Buffalo Chicken Wing Sauce, some wings, some celery, and some blue cheese dressing. It's a lot cheaper, and you can prepare your wings (or even chicken breasts) anyway you want 'em. There were some other menu items at NNY that I may go back to try, but I won't be running back over there anytime soon -- not for the wings anyway.

Gave Native New Yorker a second try. Open face beef 'n gravy sandwich was very good, but they would not let me substitute a small dinner salad for the cole slaw. My wife tried chicken strips with salt & pepper garlic seasoning instead of the wings... very good also. But still very chilly in the restaurant (main dining room)... don't forget to bring a coat.

Decent, but not great. Beer was flat, wings little, and service was ok. Feel like we got spammed because the waitress kept telling us infomercials. I'd go back to watch a game, but not for the food.

I was reluctant to try this restaurant because of the bad reviews. However, a friend loves the northside location so I thought we would give it a shot. The food was excellent especially the calzzones and wings. They let you pick the quantity of each flavor so you aren't restricted to 6, 12 etc which allows you to try more.

We've eaten here 4 times just because it's close to home and my son loves wings. Our first time was pleasant, server was friendly and accomodating. However, the next 3 times we had horrible service. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt being new, but we will not be returning. The most recent visit was the last straw. We were told as we were being seated that if we wanted one of our TVs changed, to let them know and they would be happy to do so. I asked, was ignored. I asked another server, and still ignored. I ordered a beer, and 25 minutes later, it appeared in front of me but it was flat. When I told our server it didn't taste right, she said she would let someone know. She disappeared for 15 more minutes and said that the CO2 was just fine on the tap, but that she could get me another. In the meantime, we asked 2 other people about changing the channel on the TV. A kitchen manager appeared and asked if everything was ok, I told him that the wings were fine but the service was terrible and told him about the beer. He apologized about the server saying she was normally one of their best - I find that hard to believe. They brought out another beer, this one was fine. I asked for the check as we were well past being ready to leave. Our server had been avoiding the table for at least 35 minutes now. Finally, the manager approached the table, and he was very friendly. I told him our concerns and he apologized, asking if he could get us a cookie or something to make it better. Really? A cookie? I declined, letting him know we have been ready to go for a while, and he insisted that he would make it right. He sent the kitchen manager back out to our table with a $5 off our next meal. No thank you. I had higher hopes for a restaurant in this location.

The lay out of the restaurant is not friendly to those waiting to be seated. There is no music to dull out the noise of the kitchen or everyone's conversation which made it feel quite noisy and uncomfortable. The food was not great but I did not order wings or pizza which seems to be their specialty. I had the spinach and artichoke dip which was tasty but the tortilla chips were extremely oily and outnumbered the amount of dip thus leading to lonely wasted chips with no dip. The Asian chicken salad was horrible. There was nothing to it. It looked like they mangled an emaciated chicken and put what little meat there might have been on top of the barren bed of iceberg and cabbage (cabbage!!!!). There were pineapples and mandarin oranges which somehow made it "Asian." The turkey in the rye sandwich was especially greasy to accompany the delectable oily chips. Take it easy on the butter and oil guys!! Overall, it was no better than a Chili's or Applebees (which are probably better than this place). The service was good which was one nice thing about the place and the happy hour was decent.

Great wings, mediocre coffee, horrible service .... Waited and waited and... You get the idea... It will be a miracle if this place is open one full year. Too bad, because the food is promising.

Was there on the weekend and it was good, but took a friend on Tuesday and it was awful! Wings had sauce poured over them instead of being tossed which made them too sweet and hard to eat. Salad was wet, and much smaller than before. For the price I expect better. Won't be returning any time soon.
