The tortillas from this place are fantastic! They are true Mexican Nana (grandma) style! The have also different flavors like Jalapeño! Spicy goodness! Another way I gage a true mexican style food is the red chile beef, tamales and beans. Oh man! Good! Good! Good! They serve other items and you cant go wrong with the food. They only serve lunch and only take cash (or check) so save a "fin"(five $ bill) for lunch here!

I bought tortillas here a few times and decided to try the food today. What a disappointment! We had the red beef tamales combo ($7.25) and the chicken tacos combo ($6). The kitchen took the tamales and chicken fillings out of the fridge and stick them to a microwave. Granted, both of them were made in house, but they were made a while ago so it wasn't fresh. The microwave thing totally killed it. The rice and beans were flavorless. I'd rather go to Nico's, Paco's, and one of those "bertos" places for quick Mexican.

I was doing laundry in the same plaza so I decided to check this place out. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly, but the food was sub-par at best. The tortillas and tamales were overpriced and the Bean burrito I ordered needed salt in the beans...badly! For the overpriced sub-par food, I'd take my business elsewhere.

These tortillas are amazing. The green chili is great as well. Tamales are good but skinny.

Just moved to the neighborhood and was stoked to find a tortilla factory! After being there twice I'm not sure as to what they do... selling food isn't big on their list. The first time I was informed they don't sell food until after 11 am... open at 9 am. They have bulk items listed on the menu and a cooler with what appeared to be such items, I inquired if I could purchase some of them and was promptly reminded... no food til 11. This morning I had just dropped off my daughter at school and was driving by, saw the front door wide open and thought " warm tortillas". Upon walking in the store was greeted with a shout of " We're Closed" not good morning or how are you. I asked if I could purchase some of the tortillas on the counter and was then informed they were just preparing the food for later... I can understand if your busy or closed... but no excuse for being Dicks... and both times I've been there they've been Dicks.

Delicious tamales and the guy up front (owner?) was friendly. He said we needed to call a day ahead if we wanted anything other than beef with green chili because all he stocks are the beef. I would have loved pork or orgreen chili and cheese...so next time we will call in early. No single tamales... they only come in packs of 6. Much better and cheaper than that fancy, overrated tamale place on Broadway.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
