Delectable's is a very cool restaurant, the patio is nice and cozy. The food is very eclectic but good, if you're willing to give it a try. The menu has lots of tasty things, the 201 sampler is one of my favorites. It consists of spinach and cream cheese quiche, white bean hummus, Brea cheese, and pita. They also have bistro plates, which come disassembled so you build your own sandwich, they consist of bread, a meat, and a cheese, then you build them it's a cool idea and works well. the ambiance is also very pleasant and it's a nice place to hang out inside or on the patio. the service is very attentive and quick, they pay attention to detail which is good.

Great food and great service. We went out to eat at Delectables an hour before they closed and thankfully there was no big crowd. I ordered their vegetarian hummus, white beans and pita bread. It was full of flavor and Delicious! It came with a side of fruit and small salad with feta. Let me tell you that it was really filling. We went home with a pound of their hummus for $10. It's so worth checking out!

Between the delicious food and kindness of the owner, we were pleased to have dined here. Things to try: the crab cakes, French dip sandwich, and peanut butter chocolate pie for dessert. Yum!

Always fresh and flavorful with many vegetarian options. The owner and staff are pleasant and friendly. But I have to confess, the best part is the brownies, so delicious.

Was visiting Tucson and it looks like 4th street was the place to go. We walked around starving looking for a good place to try. We noticed delectables and decided to check it out! We were greeting immediately. They have a lot of outdoor and indoor eating space. We sat down to some familiar jams from a local talent and ordered some drinks. I had the honey ale beer that had lavender in it, which was very relaxing and tasty. For my meal, I decided to go for the chicken piccata with a chicken noodle soup. Boy, it was delicious. I have a feeling they put their own spins to common classics. My piccata was served with a bed of rice and a vegetable medley that tasted great. The vegetables tasted earthy and was very satisfying. Check out the noodles in the chicken soup. It looks like angel hair. I liked it a lot.

There are not many dog friendly places in Tucson so whenever I want to grab lunch with my dog, we come here. The food is great and I love that they have a dog menu. My mom and I try to go to lunch here with our dogs at least once a month.

I went here because of the $25 for $30 promotion that they were running. I wish that I had not been so interested in saving $5 to try out a new place with my family. I am by no means a free spirit, but I found this place to be extremely uncomfortable due to the staff's attitudes toward myself and my family. The food was alright, but when you're in a service industry...you have to accompany food with good (or at least acceptable) service.

Pretty dang tasty! I love to find these amazing hidden gems in our desert! Boyfriend and I decided to venture out of our usual spots for our date night and we were amazingly pleased! We ordered the cheese and French bread plate and it wasn't just a gorgeous plate it was delicious. Had various different cheeses (duh of course), a cream cheese and rosemary like spread, slices of French bread, and various slices of fruit. Super delish - and paired well with their Pinot Grigio they have to offer on their wine selection. Oh and they have an amazing check in offer of 1/2 off a bottle if wine! They also have other offers listed upon checkin! On Wednesdays it's Wacky Wednesday where it's half off wine too! They had live music entertainment which was nice and added to the ambiance of this adorable restaurant. Love that there is indoor seating and patio seating. Now for our dinner- I ordered the penne pasta and blackened chicken and it was delish! The noodles were cooked to perfection - the chicken was sooooo tasty and tender almost mouth watering! A must try! Boyfriend ordered the pesto pasta and it was tasty too. I liked mine better though:) The staff was extremely friendly and attentive- I don't think my glass was ever empty long enough for me to even notice:) We will definitely be back:)

This is the kind of place I'd take my parents: pleasant atmosphere, comforting menu, little to no adventure. Entrees range the wide gamut from sandwiches to salads to pasta, nothing surprising. I chose pretty much the only non-salad/pasta/sandwich entree, which was a spinach and cream cheese quiche. It was all right, but the crust was a good deal tougher than you'd expect, while the texture of the egg was very soft. I'm guessing that's due to the cream cheese content, but it gives the impression of being undercooked. Overall, it was difficult to eat, since the egg part was almost soupy while the crust was hard to cut. Getting a reasonable bite on the fork took some inelegant wrangling. This plate came with fruit and salad. The fruit was excellent, very fresh, perfectly ripe, and of a decent size: a slice of pineapple, a slice of honeydew, and a slice of watermelon. The salad was unimpressive. While fresh, the lettuce didn't taste great, and I absolutely hated the dressing, a vinaigrette that, to my mouth, was almost indistinguishable from vinegar. If you like salad and sandwich type places, you'll probably love this restaurant, but it didn't really do much for me. My meal cost $11 and I went home afterward and had another lunch because it wasn't enough food.

we had a very rude waitress. We came in for a quick weekday lunch. My 3 month old began to cry. While we tried to comfort him, the waitress asked us to take him outside in the over 90 degree heat. The restaurant was fairly loud and he hadn't been crying for long. Rather than trying to see if she could help us, I had to take my kid outside and did not get to eat my lunch (which I was still charged for). We only went there because they had been "baby friendly" in the past, but this experience ruined it. We will not be back.

Always fresh - traditional favorites with a delectable twist. Their total attention to detail in food, service and entertainment is outstanding. Always in my top favorites in Tucson - and desserts to die for!!

NWLYWD, my band, just played Delectables and I had to leave a review on how nice of a spot it is. They treated us musicians great, the food was amazing, especially the Brie, and it was obvious that Donna (the owner) is really socially conscious. This business is a special rare gem. The staff seemed comfortable and happy, and as musicians she had budgeted in a good wage for us which is rare. It's the type of place that deserves support!

The food is delicious! Definitely recommend the sw pasta, potato soup, and ahi tuna. All so good! They also have a dog menu!!! My pup LOVED her pup in the chicken coop. A little slow, but all around really good place

I stopped in for a late night meal with a friend who had tried Delectables before. Service was very prompt, even when more friends came to join our table. As friends do, we ordered our own entrees and let everyone sample bites. All the dishes were great. A salmon dish came out perfectly cooked. I had a pasta dish and my tender noodles were not swimming in sauce. Noodles can't swim. I think the menu is just a little too safe. You know what's going to be served before you get there and about how it's going to taste. With some tweaking and experimenting, Delectables could bring their menu up to speed. UPDATE: I agree with the owner's comment below. This is a perfectly valid stance. Rich's recommendation: it's a sure bet if you want a meal.

Used to love coming here. Liked the atmosphere. Location. The fact there is extra parking behind the restaurant and the food. This time around I was not impressed. Had the hot Italian Sandwich on marble rye. Suppose to have capicola, spinach, etc...skimpy on all the filling for the sandwich. Might as well have just order a slice of bread. Fruit side consisted of 3 small pieces of fruit. The waiter must have know I was not happy and gave me a $5 discount. The other dish served was blackened salmon salad. Looked good and the salmon was flavorful. Truthfully for the price and quality of food, I may not return. Was disappointed. Was one of the go to places on 4th Ave.

Had a nice brunch one sunday, desserts are especially delicious. The patio they have is really nice if it is not a very hot day. Good location and good service. Just ate a sandwich and fruit tart but will return to try more!

We went as a group for a later evening bite to eat. The positive was our server was friendly. However, the food was nothing to speak of. I ordered the greek salad. It is the first greek salad I've had that had something shredded on top. Very little lettuce, too many onions. It wasn't very good. The other thing that disturbed me was number of servers and host who continued to walk past and smoke at the end of the walkway along side the restaurant. No need to return for me.

Delightful lunch! Wonderful fresh foods, some nice vegetarian options, cute space, and friendly service. I enjoyed myself very much and make this as a nice suggestions to my healthy eating friends who appreciate fresh flavors.

Serving R.C. isn't cute, or ironic, or vintage. Please get a Coke or Pepsi contract. Or at least charge less. I had the spinach salad, which came with chicken, onions, bacon, feta, and apples. It was really tasty and I licked the plate clean. I promptly cancelled out my salad with some chocolate chip cheesecake, because the case of desserts was irresistible. I saw at least 5 more things I wanted to try in there. Service and refills (of that delicious (HA) R.C. were top notch.

The fluffiness of the pancake was amazing. Real maple syrup, perfect portions. Breakfast sandwich had a roll from a local bread company. The eggs in a window was by far the best, and cooked just right. Service was good, wait was low, coffee not burnt. The only reason I don't give it a 5 is because I've only been for breakfast. Will go again without hesitation.

Food was good. Service was not present. MARIO barely showed his face at our table. He seemed rushed and irritated, no smile whatsoever. He didn't check back on our table, I had to get up to ask for extra condiments, not to mention the desert options are inside so you have to leave the table. When I asked why the service was lacking he replied, " there's only one server during the day"...cute. Will not be back. It's hard to shop local and support places when there standards are low. News flash, the patio is going to be busy in the spring and summer, staff better.

Always a good place to have l unch. Having the bistro Waldorf chicken salad today while at the Street Fair

Blaaand and overpriced. The chili tasted like Wendy's. Spaghetti and meatball was cafeteria quality or in a child's term, "way below basic". Beer crazy expensive, though selection was good. French Dip was pretty good.

This restaurant always delivers. The food is fresh and well prepared. The portions are just right, too. Their salmon with beurre blanc sauce and roasted vegetables and rice is amazing! Their dessert case cannot be ignored. This time we had dacquoise which was gluten free and sinful, as well as a chocolate raspberry tart! Soooo good! Love the service too -- very attentive! Don't pass this gem by when you're in the area!

  • Rosiline M.

The food is delicious!! Small menu but well thought out. Something for everyone. I had the white bean humus plate and I am a huge humus fan! Servings were generous and not overwhelming. Although I went for lunch, it looks like they have a pretty lively atmosphere in the evenings! Parking may be tricky as its down town but definitely worth a little walking to get there. Dog friendly patio a plus!

I've been here a few times before and always go back to one dish. Not to say the others aren't good but they're not as fantastic as the asparagus crepes. That item is the celebrity on the menu. Their hummus is okay, nothing to rave for. The menu is a bit too safe and regular.

I've only had the pleasure of dining-in at Delectables on one fine occasion. I happened to sit next to a charming woman who shared with me that she brought her dog there, on his birthday. She ordered him a spaghetti dinner, with meatballs, and they dined together. I can only imagine that lovely scene, and I can't vouch for whether it actually occurred or not, but it does give you an idea of just how accommodating Delectables proprietor Donna Fiore is. Customers come first, whether they happen to be of the human, or animal variety. I do have a lot of experience with Delectables catering for business lunches. In my opinion, it just does not get any better. Their food is simply delicious and the presentation is always just so. They have a variety of options, especially for those following restrictive diets. They offer special gluten-free and vegan menus - and there are tons of choices, not just two or three items. Delivery is always on time, and their drivers are professional and courteous. Their amazing customer service just makes the entire experience that much better. It truly sets them apart, and above all other competition. Case in point - I worked with Donna on a regular basis for about a year at my last place of employment, way back in 2008, when I first moved to Tucson. I had the good fortune of being laid off (no, really, it was a good thing) and I've been with my current organization since 2009. Up until now, due to a new role and new duties in this position, I didn't have an opportunity to place a catering order with Delectables. Today, after five years, I called in a last minute lunch for five, including a meal for a visitor who needed to go gluten-free. Donna remembered me like it was yesterday. She pulled out all the stops to razzle dazzle us. She sent over an amazing lunch, complete with a special gluten-free dessert for our guest, and she just knocked it out of the ballpark. I couldn't have been happier to reconnect with an old, trusted friend. Donna truly threw me a bone today. I'm thinking I may bring my doggies to Delectables for a dine-in experience, just to see what we can get away with. (I kid, I kid... à la Triumph the Insult Dog).

From Chicago and visiting Tucson. This was a concierge recommendation and it was great. Situated in a college, hipster area the energy was palpable. Great singer performing and a great variety of tap beers. I had chicken/spinach enchiladas, black beans and rice. The flavor of the beans was like nothing I have ever tasted. Super cool vibe, all ages enjoying the restaurant. The only downside was VERY slow service, but friendly.

The staff was snobby. Took 40 mins for food to get to the table. We orders a turkey sandwich, grilled cheese and pita hummus. Food wasn't anything special to take so long to receive. The place was half full of so I'm not sure what took so long. I had to ask for refills. Overpriced. Pay more for the atmosphere.

Fun! Galen is the best bartender, he made us some really amazing specialty cocktails and the late night food was totally delicious; especially the...ummm...oh yeah, the pulled pork sliders! ;) Good DJs and good people watching spot with lots to keep you entertained haha

Delectibles is sort of an anomaly...it can be great, it can be horrible, and it all depends on who's working, who's not, and who the new chef is. All three of these things seem to change with the same frequency, by the way. The food can be good. They have some real talent in the kitchen, and when they have the right crew, there's some good stuff to be had. On the right day, the food genuinely looks and tastes like someone back there is proud of what they put on a plate. On other days, go simple. They use great ingredients, so if the kitchen isn't firing on all cylinders, the simpler the better. The decor is simple: mostly off white walls with the art of local painters and photographers. The bar is well stocked, with plenty of variety, but the bartenders are (well...); let's put it this way: Want a drink? No problem...just wait five minutes while they go text on their phone first. Oh, and after they go tell someone in the kitchen about something that happened yesterday. After that, they'll start to pour your...oh wait, she's checking her phone again. Is she on Facebook? Ok, maybe she forgot...I'll ask her again...oh, no. She didn't forget...phew! Time for my drink. She's pouring it! Awesome! I take my drink, hand her my credit card and...oh wait, she's got to close out some other checks first, wait...her friend came to visit, so ill be polite and let them say hello...looks like they're catching up... Couple minutes and she's ready to run my card...wait...is she going back to her cell phone? I'll just ask the other... Oh, she's busy talking to HER friend...AAAAAARRRGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

I am not going to beg a waitress to be served. After finding someone inside to ask if we could sit outside, we were treated quickly to menus and asked if we wanted breakfast or lunch. Turns out it didn't matter what our response was. The place wasn't busy at all. Only one other table occupied outside and a waiter and our waitress, who was dressed horridly -- and I wouldn't have bothered mentioning that except she's obviously unaware of not only her own appearance but unaware in a general sense -- I saw her eventually bring a couple drinks to the other table after having left us with menus for 10 minutes. Another woman arrived and I saw her eventually bring that woman a menu and saw the waitress glance over at us and surprisingly not come our way but go back inside, which was 15 minutes after getting water. After peering around at two other tables that had never been cleared off nearby since we'd arrived, and had already looked like they'd been left unattended to for some time, we decided to leave. I'm not going to run back inside and say, Hey, can we get some service? At that point I'm pissed and just want to go. I'm sure she was relieved as it would just be another table to forget to clear off when we were done. By the way my last review of this place was a while ago, at least a year, and I was dismissively treated by the waiter who served my dog scalding hot food -- I noticed he was still working there. He did seem to be smiling more so perhaps things improved on the waiter-side of things. At first I was relieved he wasn't our server again though in hindsight at least he might have remembered to return to our table after giving us menus. I gave you a second chance, Delectables, and you really blew it. Though I'm surprised, out of all the troubles I was hoping I wouldn't have again, I thought at least we'd get an order in. This place hasn't changed much. Cute doggie menu, good prices, nice menu, and a lack of onsite management, which might ensure consistency of service. Hope those tables are cleared by tomorrow.

I've been to Delectables a few times. The service is normally great, and the food is solid, but I must say that I've never been blown away. I've tried a few things on their menu, salads, pasta, bistro boards, etc. My favorite was the board. It offers a few nibbles of everything, fruit, vegetables, cheese, and in my case a spinach quiche. I'm a grazer, and I love different tastes and textures during the meal so this appealed to me. There's nothing that I particularly crave on their menu, but they're a solid option when looking for a meal on fourth.

Just ate here today and I have to say the food was alright. I had the Asparagus and Swiss Crepes and it was good and my boyfriend agrees as well. Although the waitress was nice by coming back and letting us know that our food will be done shortly, I wish service could be a little bit faster. Other than that the food was alright and I might come back.

Donna's Delectables is an oasis on 4th Ave. If you are veggie or not there's something on the menu for you. Bring your pooch and feed them too off their own menu. Shady in the summer, it's a delight all year long outside and in. The food is a refreshing change from the rest of the street and you can linger and enjoy your food and friends. Food presentation is really nice to go along with being tasty. Delectables is always going to be a hit.

As disappointing as a snow-cone in a blizzard. Not bad enough that you don't eat it, just not the treat you expected. The southwestern pene was neither south nor west--or east or north for that matter. The sauce had no taste and ruined the good flavor and moist meatiness of the blackened chicken. The avocado was on the side--odd in a pasta dish. The dill crepes were very tasty. But the asparagus was tough and overcooked and the rice tasted just like a celery stick--no spice, little flavor and the other veggies were lost. I mean, just like celery. You could of added a side of peanut butter and some raisins and made your own version of ants on a soggy log's dust. No. The crab cake starter was the real treat. The rem. was tangy and the cakes melted. Not quite Boston crab cake status--but the closest Tucson can come. The ambiance is pleasant and campy and so are the staff members, but the beer selection is sad. Of the nine taps they have only three were pouring today: a Wit., Angry Orchard and Dragoon's IPA. Thank God we have a coupon, too bad about the food, beer selection and tiny nondescript menu.

Larger on the inside than it looks from 4th Ave. Menu is simple, but they have many options that looked enticing. Decor is plain, and the wait staff is kind, but not quick to take notice that you need something. I ordered the tortilla soup, and it was hearty and spicy. I'd like to come back and try some of their brunch items and sit on their patio.

The atmosphere of Delectables is quirky, cool, and fun. We ate outdoors in their very green and lush patio and it's a great place to cool off after walking up and down 4th ave. Our server was very sweet and attentive. However, there is something off about the food. I had the white bean and humus pita wrap and my boyfriend had the enchiladas with black beans and rice. My wrap was good, but it lacked some flavor and could have used some spices to jazz it up a bit. The enchiladas were a little different than what we had expected. They're not authentic mexican but they're also not quite tex-mex either, and the rice was a bit too mushy for my taste. Next time I visit I think I'll stick to drinks and appetizers.

I tried the Groupon for breakfast while my mom was visiting Tucson. Mistake! The Groupon costed $18 and claimed that it was worth $36 for breakfast for two people. Almost all the breakfast menu items were around $6, so I don't know how they though two people could spend $36. My mom and I ordered the Street Car breakfast and the pancakes. The Street Car included two eggs, wheat toast, and potatoes. The whole thing was just okay, and the potatoes were terrible! The pancakes were okay, but about like I could make at home. I also got only a small ramekin of syrup, which wasn't really enough for two pancakes. We barely got to the original $18 we paid for the Groupon, so we added bacon to our breakfast, ordered coffee, and added a dessert to go. I must say the fig tart I got was delicious. I have also visited Delectables for dinner in the past. It has been a long time, but I never wanted to go back because the food was forgetable and overpriced. If you want a great bistro and desserts restaurant on 4th Avenue, skip this place and go to the Bee Line.

So I've had the goal of trying every restaurant on 4th Ave, and Delectables was one of my hold outs, because I've been told it's expensive and so-so. But when I saw a groupon for brunch, I thought, This is my chance! We were seated by the window, and it was a blast to watch the Sunday morning 4th Ave crowd stroll by. The french toast was nothing special, and it tasted like the kind I could make at home with regular wheat bread and eggs. The chorizo breakfast burrito, however, was great! Rich and flavorful, with a flaky tortilla. The only downside is that it was REALLY greasy (red grease kept dripping out of the bottom until it almost covered my plate). The salsa was legit, though, and the server cheerfully brought me extra--I'm a salsa nut. For those considering the groupon deal, I'm not sure the groupon is worth it. We ordered two drinks (coffee and a mimosa) and two entrees (the french toast and the burrito), and our total came to $22--but the groupon cost $19. Up to 50% savings? Eh. You'd really have to work at ordering the one or two most expensive things on the menu for this to save money. If that's your plan, hope you like quiche :) Now that this is checked off my 4th ave list, I'm not sure I'd return...though the wine specials did look intriguing. Service was really friendly, though, which is always a plus.

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Tucson! We've had several dishes (Blackened Chicken Pasta, Blackened Salmon, Chicken Piccata, Asparagus Crepes) and they are all wonderful. We love to sit by the window and watch the colorful world go by! Save room for dessert. You're sure to find something in the case that will tempt your taste buds. The service is always great too!

Avoid like the plague! Rude bouncers, even ruder manager. Not an establishment to frequent, a lot of better bars on 4th avenue. Spend your money elsewhere.

This was our first time going to Delectables and it was great! 4 adults and a child. We sat outside on the patio (a bit dark) but great weather. We had the Chefs special Bistro plate for an app and we shared. It was excellent even the vegetarian in our group enjoyed all but the roast beef. I had a chef salad and it was wonderful, with House made blue cheese dressing - of the others 1 had the chicken piccata (gave me a bite) great! 1 had the boss burger yummy cook perfect and the other adult had the asparagus crepes which she enjoyed fully. The little one had the spaghetti and ate it all. All in all a wonderful dinner with great flavors and the service was there but not in your face. The food was a bit slow but well worth the wait. The only miss was the lasagna of the day "Meatball and Bacon" was all gone - sad...

Had a wonderful lunch while visiting Tuscon with relatives. The chicken Waldorf salad plate was delicious and well presented. The Reuben sandwich was extremely good and the iced teas were very interesting and never empty. Great service and prompt.

It's been a while since I've been here. I've been here a couple times and I just don't get it. Maybe its the whole vegan vibe they have or the earthy clientele, but when I think of going out to dinner this is the last place i consider. The first time I went here I had salmon, and it was barely seasoned. The server was outside smoking the whole time and we had terrible service. The last time was for dinner after the 4th ave street fair. A group of us went there, because my friend knows the owner. I ordered the chicken and it came out raw. that's right, chock full of salmonella. I tossed it, finished my salad and decided it was best to get out without getting sick.

I love Delectables. I always look forward to trips down to Tucson, so I can grab lunch or dinner here. I love how they have many vegetarian options, but also meat options for my dining companions! I often order the *White Bean Hummus and Pita* which is so wonderful. It has a great flavor and I love the consistency. I also enjoy *Tucson's Best Chef Salad*- I get it without the Turkey and Avocado and with Creamy Italian dressing. It's absolutely delicious. I also like *Zorba's Greek Salad*. Next time I'll try a Pasta dish. I can't wait :)

What a fun experience - This is a place to enjoy! Beautiful space, great service, lots to choose from. However, the bread is terrible. Why on earth would they serve this cheap stuff with all the wonderful possibilities? But yes, I will be back!

One of my favorite restaurants in Tucson. DEFINITELY get the seared ahi appetizer. It comes with a delicious wasabi cream dipping sauce and also soy sauce. Yum yum yum. Fresh, and generous for the price ($10). I always get the chef salad. With turkey, peppercinis, grape tomatoes, Greek olives, feta cheese, artichoke hearts, avocado, and hard-boiled egg, to name a few ingredients, this salad satisfies every craving. It's huge and filling, and only $10. It's that, the free refills on iced coffee, and the Wi-Fi that keep me coming back. The service is always friendly and prompt. Highly recommend. Delectables is appropriately named!

Delectables is a nice place to stop for lunch of dinner. One of the things I like the most about the place is their menu for dogs, it's simply adorable that they bring water and food out for your four legged friend. The price is a little high for the quality of food, but the service is good and generally a nice place to grab a bite to eat.

The food here was good... I had the white bean dip, and the pesto pasta which was delicious. I was glad that we were intending to have a long leisurely dinner, because it would have been that way whether we liked it or not. pesto pasta, white bean dip It took us a long time to get service at first, which was frustrating because we all wanted water. But once we got service it was all better! My friends really loved the wine specials!

So this one is part of the Yelp has an app for that food fight. Ill be posting a review just for the app and then I'll update at a later time once I actually have a full blown meal here!. This was stop #11 I couldn't wait to get home and write this review. I had no idea what to expect from this place because I had never been there. They have a great selection of Vegetarian fare here. I love the location and considering Im a Tucson native it blows me away that I would always walk by this place and never try it. So the app: Sesame Ahi Tuna Bites - sushi grade ahi tune, black and white sesame seeds and wasabi cream sauce. For the record - AMAZING!!! This would put many sushi chefs out of business! This ahi was so good that I could have easily given this app 10 stars and it knocked my favorite from the tour off the top! Great job Chef Cragg!! Unfortunately this was the last day of the food fight or I would recommend having it right away. Maybe you can bribe the chef to make it again after the fact. I gave this appetizer 5 of 5. Good Job Guys!!

We went to Delectables via a random walk in and left highly disappointed. The server and host were nice and friendly and we got prompt service. The problem was anything we put in our mouths (save for one item - see below). The water tasted musty/moldy, and when I tried to order a beer, I had to change it three times as the place apparently sells out of beer every two days and they don't know how to do inventory management to stay ahead. The food started with crab cakes which were actually quote good. But that was the only thing they did right. The rest of the food (I had the blackened chicken and pene) was insanely underwhelming. Even the cream sauce in the pasta tasted dusty. yes... Dusty. The place had great reviews, but we either hit on an off day, or people in Tuscon re used to odd tasting water and food... Probably wont give this one another chance.

I honestly come here for two reasons: - the wine selection - the cheese plate I have not had a disappointing wine at Delectables, it really seems like they've done their research and have a solid wine list. Also, their fruit and cheese plate is amazing! This is a great place to come with a group of friends for some wine and cheese. I've also had lunch here, and was not disappointed.

OMG! Some of these reviews are bad? I can't believe it. I've eaten here about 6 times and everytime the food was great. I'm shocked that some are finding the food or service was bad. OMG! Well, I'll be back there soon, for sure, to find out just what's going on and then I'll let you all know if those 1 and 2 star people are just CRAZY!!!

Visited tonight and thought that there was a new manager!!! Service was attentive and prompt, food was really yummy. Seemed like food was fresher and more flavorful than previous visits. We liked the large variety of unique desserts. Prices are a bit on the pricey side for average to slightly big portions.

Horrible service horrible horrible food!! I PAID $60 BUCKS for 2 people. 1 entree 1 appetizer. If I could give it zero stars I would.I am always fair and give places a chance, but I cannot stand this place. Horrible food, horrible staff...omg...horrid!! What a waste of money.

Nice relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Sandwiches are $8 or $9, with additional items such as avocado costing an extra 2 bucks (wish they'd be less stingy with this extra, though); bistro plates from $9 to $12; pastas from $8 to $13. Quite a good deal for the money, considering the quality of the food. A good place to stop for a leisurely meal when walking through colorful 4th Avenue.

I used to pride myself on being an omnivore. Anything was fair game, especially while traveling. I ate (and loved! ) "cuy" (guinea pig) in Peru and developed a fondness for "morcilla" (yes, that would be blood sausage) that surprised even me in Argentina. Now? I am the person with miso paste in the fridge. The one who's wondering what new thing I can do with extra-firm tofu. It doesn't escape me that I've traveled the spectrum -- from "eeeww" to "eeeww". Go figure. For health and other reasons, I have embraced veganism. It is my new adventure in eating. Of course, with every adventure comes challenge. Now, it is finding a good mainstream restaurant with stuff I can eat. On the word of a few Yelpers, who raved about the "vegetarian" entrees at Delectables, my husband and I headed down to Fourth Avenue for a late lunch. Vegan is "vegetarian," but without the dairy. So that whittled my menu choices down to the hummus plate. But it was awesome! The wide, narrow platter contained white bean hummus, bite-sized triangles of pita bread, a delicious Greek salad and fresh fruit (two kinds of melon, pineapple and grapes). It was fresh, delicious and just enough. My husband (who has never had a kind word for hummus) loved his pesto penne. We were greeted warmly the moment we walked in -- and then led to a window seat (so we could "people-watch"). Throughout our meal, the service remained friendly. Just attentive enough. Loved the decor. When I find myself planning my return to a restaurant mid-meal on the first visit, I know I've got a winner. I can't wait for cooler weather to hang out on the patio and try the gazpacho.

Okay. Decent bar selection. Nice original drinks. The band we saw on this particular night was very good. However, so disappointed that our order was wrong when there are only two tables sat. When the food came out (Spinach and Asparagus Crepes and the Pesto pasta) it was exceptional. I would come again for the food and music, but service needs some attention guys. Maybe this was that one mistake, but it was disappointing.

Had lunch with my partner today. A Ruben for me and hummus plate for her. Best Ruben I've had in Tucson and very good potato salad side. Rubens are my marker dish and are usually just so-so, although I had one at the Hub back when it opened that was literally inedible, with thick chunks of tough pastrami that could not be chewed. This was corned beef, maybe just a touch salty but very tender. All the fruit on the hummus plate was ripe, a rarity. Great homemade lemonade. Not sure why all the comments about high prices. Just about any good cafe is in this price range and our meals were worth it due to the high quality, fresh ingredients and excellent prep. Service was prompt and attentive without being smarmy and the kitchen was fast. Very enjoyable patio and very little traffic noise.

I have only visited Delecables for dinner. You MUST try the sesame ahi tuna with the wasabi cream. The crab cakes are very tasty. We have previously tried the cheese board -- good stuff. The asparagus crepes are yummy! And though not authentic Mexican food, the chicken and spinach enchiladas are quite good. And I love the butter served with bread. It's not standard butter, but not certain what is mixed in with it. Very light and tasty. Interesting story: On my most recent visit, the service was not that great. After thinking about it a couple of days, I contacted the manager and let him know that my partner and I were surprised that we did not get more attentive service. We'd had to wait quite a while to put in our dinner order. We had to wave our server down for water. It took some time to get the bill. And this was a pretty slow night -- so it appeared. This was not like the service we had received in the past. The manager, Chris, was very understanding! Even sent us a gift certificate. WHAT?! We were not expecting that! How generous!

Another party night at Delectables. You have to like eclectic. The sampler is good for us indecisive types, but I have not been disappointed by the crepes. Others have said all the salads are good. They also support the local musicians. some of Tucson's favorites like Dusty Buskers are frequently seen.

This place was pretty disappointing. The food was nothing special. The servers, at least at breakfast time obviously had other things to do. Other customers were served before us. There are much better breakfast places in Tucson.

We showed up last night at 945pm only to be told they were closed. Here is a tip for the owner.....When you are closed, turn off your OPEN sign. If you decide to close hours early due to not having staff, post it on your website, it would have saved us the trip.

Delectables is one of this Tucson businesses that's been around like Forever, and we mustn't forget about this oldie but goodie (like I have). They've been on my "must visit" list for quite some time, and admittedly, I can be a creature of habit, even in this job. I stick to the same lunch spots when I'm on the go, mostly out of convenience and obviously familiarity. Anyhow, I chose Delectables to pick up a salad as I was on the go as usual. An order of the spinach salad with walnuts, apples, olives, and feta, subbed the chicken for grilled salmon was quite tasty and generous. The salmon was a bit over cooked and tough for my liking, but I at least it's wild salmon. I'll take over fatty farm raised salmon any day. The hostess was a pleasure and pick up was easy peasy. Their new updated bar looks super welcoming and cozy...and I did I mention their check-in offer is 50% off a bottle of wine? Dang! Aside from that, their menu is super vegetarian and health conscious friendly. It has been for many years. It's been a while since I've had the cheese plate, but that's nice too. Looking forward to a cozy happy hour or dinner in the very near future.

I have been eating at Delectables for all of its 30+ years. I keep going back because the food is excellent, fresh and prepared with that extra care that seems to make it more than nourishment. Over the years it have changed with the times. Quiche, salads, gourmet boards with cheeses and goodies, and sandwiches on croissants before anyone else was doing it. It is established and not stale. With the addition of an excellent wine list over the past few years, and now a full bar, it just keeps growing and feeding and entertaining us all... so many of us keep coming back that we have become friends. It is that kind of special place.

SO GOOD. We were here on a quickie business trip, and I wanted to nosh on something before my lecture. My partner was full, so we stopped in here so I could just grab a soup and salad. I wish we had this place up in Phoenix. The menu was mouthwatering, and I wish we'd been more hungry. I settled for a house salad and a cup of the mushroom port (vegetarian) soup. Oh my god. The soup was beyond words. Even my completely stuff partner kept stealing bites of it, because you just couldn't NOT eat it. It was amazing. Wish I'd ordered a bowl! And the salad? Far more than your ordinary salad, with feta and kalamata olives. And their currant iced tea? To die for. Plus, our server was sweet and totally on top of things. A little pricey, yes. However, completely worth it. We tried to go back the next day on Sunday, but they were closed for Memorial Day. Almost broke my heart...I was craving something with Brie.

Super pet friendly!!! Wow! A pretty decent-sized vegan menu, AND a DOG menu (not vegan, sadly)! We'll be back for sure. You can read their people menus online, but here is the dog one: Buried Treasure (small spaghetti with a buried meatball), Pup in the Chicken Coop (boiled chicken breast julienned on rice), Pooched Eggs (2 hard boiled eggs mixed into rice), Dog's Best Friend (2 pieces bacon on rice), and St. Paulie non-alcoholic beer (!) The large shaded patio outside is perfect for your pooch, and they'll bring out a dish of water for him.

Try the Pesto as well as the blackened salmon... I've been on sort of a fresh fish binge lately... So just throw the salmon on to the pesto! Its delectable. And while your at it, treat yo self to the mushroom soup.

We ate here on a Wednesday around 4:00 p.m., and this place was dead. The food was mediocre leaning to average, and this would not be too big of a big deal, except for the fact that it is clearly overpriced by several dollars. I also remember that the seating was uncomfortable, and that the bathroom was mildly messy too (enough to notice). The only redeeming factor was that the service was decent. It's too bad, because this place isn't in a bad location and looks nice on the outside.

OK, so I'm a little slow on the uptake! I usually don't go out to dinner unless it's a family gathering so this outing was mainly to hear my favorite local duo NoWhereMan/WhiskeyGirl who come to Tucson on occasion to perform. I thought they performed mainly at bars in Tucson so was delighted to see they do a restaurant of this quality, which is a bar/restaurant combo. I love the atmosphere and NMWG fit right in! But, don't go just to hear them, although that's a good reason! The food and menu options are great as well!

Sigh. Oh, Delectables! I so want to love you, but when only one of the last several visits has been a solidly good experience, it becomes so hard to keep seeing you as a reliable standard... We'd had several visits over the last year that were very disappointing for one reason or another, almost always service-related, but our most recent visit (before tonight) had been more like the ones of the days of yore... and then we excitedly returned again tonight, and it was back to rather blah service. Our server was fine, if a little scattered, at first. We had to request to hear about the soups and specials. After ordering, another server dropped off our food. I believe our original server did check with us once after we'd gotten our entrees, but after that, she was a no-show. Other roving servers did jump in and refill water, clear plates, and (after we'd been sitting for a while without plates), take our dessert order, too. After dessert, we sat for a while, again with cleared plates before my partner finally put his credit card out in an attempt to signal that we were ready for the bill. Eventually our original server came and took his card. She was then gone for at least ten minutes. We watched other servers bring checks, and our server take orders from other tables. When another server finally returned, she explained that "the machine was malfunctioning," which seemed odd, since other checks were being delivered to other tables. It really just felt like we had been dismissed and forgotten. In addition, I started to feel ill while we were eating our dessert, which makes me suspect some gluten contamination (certainly not food-poisoning ill, so folks without food allergies don't have anything to fear). It's always a bit of a game of Russian roulette going out to eat, as few kitchens can be fully trusted to prevent any gluten contamination, but I hate fearing I will become ill after trying so hard to order from the gluten free menu and be careful. Mainly, it made that wait for the check that much harder. The food was still delicious, though my stomach is not feeling too happy about it. I'm a bit torn. Our server doesn't get more than two stars, but other servers were great about jumping into the void... Caution if you've got food allergies, and patience with the staff and you may still have a good night.

I fell in love with my partner of 18 years at Delectables so of course the restaurant has a warm place in my heart. My last visit, though, would have earned it five stars if I had never heard of the place. My partner and I had dinner when Kenny Stewart the Magician & Sommelier was serving wine and card tricks. Our dinners, asparagus crepes for me and a bistro plate (board) for Anne, were fresh, flavorful and delicately balanced as always. One of the wines we tasted was especially memorable: the Eliseo Silva Merlot. Delectables does wine REALLY WELL. In addition, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. For casual gourmet dining, Delectables is as good as it gets!!!!

I love this place. But I cannot ignore the fact that my favorite item (the diFore salad - I have been stuck in that rut for years) has gotten smaller and less endowed while the price has gone up significantly. If I pay $15 for a salad, I would think it should blow my mind.

We wandered into Delectables to get a late lunch and to enjoy the afternoon. A perfect way to enjoy the overcast day. We were seated by the front windows--good choice. Our waitress greeted us quickly, told us of the daily specials and then as seamlessly as she arrived she departed, leaving us time to ponder the many choices on their menu.....perfect! We ordered crab cakes, fruit and cheese plate and the sesame ahi tuna severed with a glass (or two) of wine.....perfect again! Crab cakes cooked to perfection-firm with just the right amount of seasoning. Cheese board always my favorite, with fresh cut fruit and freshly baked crusty bread, yummy! My friend enjoyed his sesame ahi tuna and said that the wasabi cream was top notch. As we shared a creme brule, I knew we had chosen the BEST place to enjoy the afternoon.....great food, good wine, good service, good vibes and a great way to watch the world go by. What more could I ask for? I have been coming to Delectables for 30+ years and I have NEVER been disappointed!

All I heard were good things about this place and my first time experience was great! The atmosphere was casual and the waiters are very attentive (almost too attentive). Menu was easy to read with too many delicious choice. I love that they have a full bar and list out all the brands they carry. I enjoyed a Chocolate Martini. I'm not used to cream in my Chocolate martini so it was interesting, it was more like a less decadent Mudslide. My bf ordered the Raspberry Highball (some kind of raspberry lemonade combo), it wasn't sweet (plus); it was very refreshing. As an appetizer we got the Warm Brie with French bread, Sesame Ahi Tuna with Wasabi cream sauce and the Louisiana Crab cakes. You can't really mess up the Warm Brie plate so that was enjoyable with the slices of apple and grapes. The Sesame tuna was on the money. Perfectly cooked and plated but the wasabi was almost non existent. It was more decoration that dipping sauce. It did come with a soy sauce/teriyaki thing which complemented the tuna very well. The crab cakes had great flavor and were so moist. I'd go as far as saying a little too moist. They fell apart on your fork before you even got it over to the dipping sauce. All in all the appetizers were awesome in flavor and quality of ingredients. Entrees I ordered the Pesto Pasta with Blackened Chicken. My Bf ordered the Lasagna (that day it happened to be peppers, chicken and squash lasagna). My friends ordered the Reuben with fruit and the Chicken Penne Pasta dish with Avocado and Chipotle Cheese sauce. Everything came out about 15 mins after we finished our side items. The choices for side items were: Mushroom and tarragon soup and house side salad. The Mushroom tarragon soup sounded so interesting but I am not a big fan mushrooms so I passed on that option and got the house salad. The house salad was awesome. It has feta and tomato, cucumbers and onions, cabbage and carrots. All the ingredients were very fresh and crispy. Now, after having a taste of my friends soup was very disappointed that I didn't go with it. The soup was amazing! The mushroom flavor was strong but DAMN it was good!!!! The pasta dishes were large but not huge which we all liked after eating tons of appetizers. The pesto was very creamy but lacking in the flavor department. A little salt quickly improved this so I guess the flavor was there it just needed a little encouragement. The blackened chicken was my favorite part of the dish. It was excellent; crispy, savory and so so juicy! My bf's lasagna was a small portion that our pasta dishes but none the less satisfying and flavorful. It had lots of cheese but each of the feature ingredients really came through. I got a bite of my friends Chipotle penne that it was so creamy and flavorful, no encouragement necessary. I didn't get to snag a bite of the Reuben but from where I was sitting it looked like a hearty sandwich that was served with an amazing display of fruit. I saw wedges of pineapple, watermelon and some other stuff that you normally don't see when fruit is served up as a side. I didn't dessert because I was feeling rollie pollie and had to run but we will be back on a Wednesday to enjoy the half off wine deal with some dessert! For 5 people, 5 drinks, 3 appetizers and 5 entrees the bill came to 108.00 before the 20% gratuity. A little expensive for a casual dinner but the food was well worth it. Sorry for the wall of text but it was a vivid food experience.

Really nice, fresh, interesting food. I got the asparagus crepes and was really bhappy with the dish. Great balance, very interesting flavors (the lemon creme sauce was a standout) and perfectly cooked and presented. My girlfriend got the sampler and though it was good, both she and I thought there were better choices on the menu. That said, the quiche on the sampler was unreal. This is coming from someone who has a strong, unyielding aversion to eggs. That quiche was, dare I say it...delectable! (That's tight - I did dare to say it. Now shut your wordhole you cynical prick) If you're looking for light, satisfying summer fare, I can think of no better place.

The food is consistent and delicious. The service is friendly and on top of things. The local art changes every couple months. The patio is mostly shaded, beautifully landscaped with trees, rocks and plants. There is live music twice a week (with information on who's playing in The Tucson Weekly). They have a small parking lot in back which is rarely full.

the vegan chef salad is not worth $10 -it's cheap lettuce and cucumbers. my coworkers enjoyed the reuben and chicken salad bistro plate ok. nice server!

Came in last night after a football game and had a blast. The pulled pork sandwich was really good and the whole staff treated me like one of their own.

Reasonably priced; attentive waitstaff. My friends and I had to remind server of 15% discount happy hr prices when it came to paying the bill. Got the 5 cheeses appetizer. Cheeses were good, bread was a little stale.

Wednesdays is the best deal because you can get bottles of wine for 50%. I would only go on a Wednesday!

This place has consistently great food with so many options: Bistro Plates, Salads, Sandwiches, Small plates; Pasta Dishes. A stunningly varied menu in a relaxing setting. We enjoy everything we eat here. Like the Sesame Ahi Tuna with Wasabi Cream. Muy delicioso! The Hummus too; the best we've ever eaten. Wonderful desserts like Chocolate Mousse (to die 4, as they say), Lemon Bar, Flourless Chocolate Cake and many more. Oh yea, superb wines as well. Had a Canoa Malbec today that beat any Malbec I've ever had. The owner certainly knows her wines as well as her food!

I think you made me one of the best salads I've ever had in my entire life. I'm also pretty sure your chocolate chip cookies crack my Top 5 All Time Chocolate Chip Cookies List. This list is 1) this rest stop in a small town in west Texas whose name I can't remember and I'll never see again. It inexplicably had a bakery in the back of a gift shop that had the most amazing chocolate chip cookies of my life. 2) Grassroots Natural Food Store in South Lake Tahoe. Seriously, worth driving across the country for. 3) Tweety Eastland, owner and proprietor of Camp Mystic in Hunt, Tx. Damn good chocolate chip cookie. I have the recipe myself but I can't make them right. One of the ingredients must be Tweety's love. 4) The Delectables chocolate chip cookie. So good I returned three days in a row for them. 5) My great grandmothers. Made with crisco as cookies should be. Their brownie was pretty amazing also. It had a nice dense interior and crispy outsides like they should be. When I came back the second day the owner recognized me and asked me how our to go orders were the day before. I appreciated that. If you are in the area, definitely eat here but if you can't - just get a cookie.

There is only one thing I ever order, and that's the Tucson's Best Chef. It's okay. Today, I placed a to-go order for 6 people. When I went in to pay for it, the cashier (may have been the owner/waitress/who knows) asked me if I'd like to tip the cooks. Have you ever been asked that in ANY restaurant? When I said it was an interesting question and that I had never been asked that, she said since there was no tip for the waitress on this to-go order, the cooks wouldn't be tipped (as they usually get a cut of the waitresses tips). She said the cooks did the same amount of work as if we were sitting in the restuarant. I said we weren't sitting in the restaurant, and the cooks are already getting paid - they don't work for tips. She said she always tips the cooks at restaurants - "it's just what I do." I was so turned off, I'll be reluctant to return. I asked everyone at work what they thought, and they all thought it was the most bizarre question they'd never been asked in a restaurant.

This is a great restaurant! The food is attractive, fresh, unique, tasty and affordable. The ambiance is great. This is always a great place to people watch and enjoy the colorful inhabitants of 4th avenue from the outside dining patio. .

Excellent Tucson restaurant, full of locals, plentiful vegetarian choices and a well-deserved reputation for professional catering. I hope they manage to prosper during this season of 4th Avenue construction Hades. The name is a little silly, but it's been there for decades and they can't change it now. If you haven't been there yet, you haven't really experienced Tucson's boho culture.

Delectables is one of the nicer dining establishments on 4th Ave. It isn't populated with obnoxious college kids (yes, I do qualify into that category, however, I am the exception). Usually ages range from high 20 somethings to 40 somethings. The food is fresh and prepared well. They even have vegan options. Their menu ranges from salads to pastas to sandwiches, and everything is a good choice. Their breads and cheeses are outstanding here. My favorite item is the Cardini Caesar, which is a homemade caesar salad. Grated parmesan cheese is sprinkled throughout, the dressing is a vinaigrette with a heavy anchovy taste, and the croutons are made in house. This plate comes complete with a wedge of french bread on the side. Desserts are nothing to write home about, but the appetizers are phenomenal. My pick is the warmed brie with bread, which comes with brie, french bread, grapes, and a thinly sliced apple and strawberry.

Food was good, although some dishes seem a little pricey. I enjoyed it, and will probably go back for half-price bottles of wine on wednesdays.

I love this place. Everything I have ever eaten here is great and fresh. I usually go with the boards (now called bistro plates). I have had the hummus, chicken salad, brie, African tuna, the 201, and the turkey. All are awesome and I have a hard time picking one to eat. I think I like the African tuna the best because I have never had anything like it elsewhere.

Second time I've been here. The service was horrible!! They forgot to bring sugar with the tea and coffee, mustard and ketchup for the burger, salt and pepper which we had to grab from another table, and we hardly got any refills of drinks. We had to ask for more several times and then waited forever. They took forever to bring us take home boxes. I'm assuming it was the owner that yelled at my sister for letting her kids play on the wooden stage outside. Really?? They weren't hurting anything. The food was nothing to write home about and they included a tip of 20% for parties of 5 or more. That is outrageous when the service sucked so bad. Plus the girl apologized for the lame service with the excuse of being short staffed, but didn't take any money off our bill. Haha, yeah, I can tell you were really sorry. Don't bother with this place!

I had good expectations for this cute hideaway on fourth ave but was disappointed. The waitstaff was rude (most likely due to the fact that my friends and I look young and stuck out amid the midlifers around us). I ordered the crabcakes and pasta. The crabcakes were very overdone, somewhat burnt, and dry. So much so that I didn't finish them, a first in my many moons of enjoying crabcakes. The pasta was far from al dente and very bland. The only redeaming dish was the cream of asparagus served before the meal. Think twice before paying more for low quality food.

Piss poor service. I know today was street fair but come on! Walked in asked if we should just sit down outside or wait, told curtly that some would be with us shortly, ok?? Next greeted and sat outside at a table, given menus, waited. Two other groups came after us, were greeted, and served drinks while we waited. Finally decided to leave. Once again piss poor service at it most!

I really love the food here! They have a great selection of vegetarian food which can be hard to come by in Tucson. I also really love their patio, but if you sit out there be prepared to be "forgotten" about by the wait staff. I've been there three times and have been "forgotten" about each time. Maybe if you sit inside your experience with the wait staff will be better. Overall - great food, bad service.

My Tucson friends treated me to lunch at this lovely little oasis on 4th Ave during a cabin fever inspired road trip down south. Cool and quiet with some intriguing artwork. I ordered a massive salad with all sorts fresh goodness piled on top of it-turkey, cucumbers, a fantastic dill dressing, etc. etc. And I nearly finished it all it was soooo...well...delectable! Staff was pretty friendly though I didn't pay much attention while devouring my salad mountain. Would love to nosh here again!

I have been there once and am not likely to go again. The waiter had far too many tables. The pasta was overdone and not properly drained, there was a puddle of water in both of our dishes. The pesto was wimpy. The marinara tasted like Chef Boy R D with some herbs. I wish we would have stayed at the Bee Line and waited for a table. On a scale of one to ten, a solid five. Maybe the salads are their forte and maybe there is better wait staff. I will never know.

This place is pretty tasty. When we are caving something fresh and light this is always on out list. It has a very relaxed feel that bumps it up to a 4 star place in my book.

I think the main problem with this place is the name. For a long time I didn't know it was there, too. You see it and assume it is just for catering, hard to tell sometimes there is a restaurant inside. Anyway, I've been there twice, once just for drinks, and once for a meal. I remember in particular there was a corn/clam? chowder that was very good. Salads, as mentioned before, are quite good. Yes, the service is good, too.

Fantastic food! I had the asparagus crepes and a fabulous raspberry kamikaze. Respectably busy but with no wait on a Saturday night. Great atmosphere on 4th without the college crowd. Live music on Fridays and Saturdays at 7pm. When I dined, a wonderful duo played called Tumbledown House. Grabbed a copy of their CD. A wonderful evening!
