Love it this email past Saturday night me and my wife went for our first time. Everything was good to me. Nice crowd showing up around 10pm. I will go back again. As far as charging my card the right amount waiting for it to clear still. So if that happens I will go back to talk to them bout it.? If it does just never use my card there. I feel I would still go back just always pay cash.

Chicago Bar is a decent local hangout that offers various types of live music acts each day of the week and a reggae themed DJ night on Sundays. There is a dance floor next to the bar and two pool tables in the rear. I'm sure the crowd varies with each act and time of day but it seemed to have a friendly vibe Wednesday night. The Bad News Blues Band was playing some Blues standards and original material. They were a great band with excellent musicians who new how to get the crowd dancing. Lots of people were on their feet. The lone bartender handled the crowd like a pro. I never had to wait longer than a couple minutes for her to serve up my orders. She was also friendly and knew about the featured band. I'd definitely go back to Chicago Bar.

Great place for a strong, inexpensive and tasty drink. Service has gotten much better since new ownership! Informative and friendly bartenders!! Local classic spot!! Would recommend this if your looking for a place that has history and a taste of Tucson..

Talk about a fun place! I usually go on Saturday night when Neon Prophet is playing. But since they have bands every night I stop by whenever I get the chance! Last time I was there I played Jenga on the patio..I lost but still tons of fun! I definitely recommend this bar!

Had a really good time here last night but this morning I was disappointed to find that they charged my card $50 for a $10 admission. I guess they pre authorize all the cards for a specific amount I guess it would be courteous to tell your customers that. As long as I get my money back I'm cool. Cash only there from now on. Other than that it's a decent bar

Here for a pool tournament. The bartender is nice and its a ok bar for a Wednesday. Prices are reasonable. $7 for a large pitcher of Bud light. I do like that they have Guiness and Kilt Lifter on tap. From what I hear they have like music often which is pretty cool.

Great drinks, great bartenders & deals!.. This place is a Tucson institution, strong drinks @ a good price , and the bar tenders have always been helpful & make great recommendations on their signature drinks. Must visit!..

I use to live here when I was single. I had heard there were new owners and was under the impression a remodeling had been done. The only thing I noticed that was no low top tables. Being short I like to sit in the low chairs. I can see why these wouldn't be popular because you can't see the band if you're sitting low. So, get up and dance or belly up to the bar & get ignored. If all else fails go to the ladies' room. Ok, maybe there was some slight remolding here. The stall-doors stay closed, Oh wait, I was there before it got crowded. Back in the day, the doors worked great if you were the only one in there but if someone was in the stall next to you, the force of them pulling their door shut caused your door to fly open. Anyways, it's still a Dive!

A group of Jamaicans used to sell jerked chicken outside on Neon Prophet nights, but I haven't seen them lately. And what's with the ban on military patronage? Last time I saw a couple in their fifties in a red tux and valentine's dress, U of A frat kids, a guy with only two fangs in his mouth, etc. Bartenders are excellent but lordamighty book some new local talent. This is a fine venue and should be more of a stepping stone (i.e. real money) for the up-and-comers, not just the tried and true.

I grew up in Tucson and admit, it's not my fav place. BUT, I visit ofter and need a place to escape the snobby scene of Scottsdale. The band has been there forever and plays great hits from today and the 80's/90's. The guys will actually ask you to dance and are not afraid to get sweaty. The drinks are cheap and strong. They have a patio for smokers and the location is central and away from the 4th Ave scene. I love that I can have a good time with a mature mixed crowd.

Best down to earth place in Tucson-actually the only one. When my out of town friends visit and want to whoop it up, we can make our own fun here. Long time staff always act glad to see ya'
