The food in the Buffett is a mix between good and bad. Most of which I wouldn't put on my plate. The stations are a good mix but the food is not very appetizing overall. I could understand if the timing was bad but we were there at 6 pm. The price is high enough at $26 each to support a good Buffett. I've been to several in Las Vegas for about the same price that were much bigger and better. The deserts were very unappetizing mostly, would have to be starved to eat one.

Probably one of the best casinos you're gonna find in Tucson! The main gambling hall is like being in Vegas! Lots of security and I've never had a problem there! Food, games, entertainment and a beautiful resort and concert venue make this place awesomeness!

I have stayed here once, and enjoyed several shows and nights out here. This is a nice place. One of the things I love is they are ALWAYS improving their resort. That's nice. Gives locals a reason to go back. Well done Casino Del Sol Resort. Great drinks, great food, and the pool is freaking amazing. They have a lot of wonderful musical groups there, so go to FB and like them, and you will get updates on who is coming to town when. My BD is July 4th, and I have been there several times for their AMAZING July 3rd Fireworks display. AMAZING ...... Its nice for a night out (date night).....local, but still feel pampered. I like!!

Smokey and poorly run establishment.. If you're looking for a Vegas experience then grab a flight, this place doesn't cut it. Had to wait over and hour to get on a poker table when there were 12 people on the waiting list and only 3 tables in session.. Could have opened a 4th table?!? Most interesting part of the evening was watching some dumb ass leaving in handcuffs with the local police..

Hotel is retarded with a huge security flaw. If you enter through the casino side of the entrance, they ask to check your bag. They profile everyone as a criminal and think you will bring a weapon or something dangerous. I brought a backpack and a bag of leftover food. The security wanted to check, so I asked if he wanted my leftovers. Now if you have a bag and enter through the hotel side, there is no security guard. No one checks anything if you enter from the hotel or the back door. So what's the point of security in the front entrance? Wifi access doesn't work and connection sucks. The maids don't change bedsheets even if you put the request card on the bed. If you throw a dollar with the request card, they will change the sheets. They are also very inconsistent with what they give you. One day they will refill the keurig coffee.. One day they will forget. Then they might forget to give you soap, shampoo, and etc. If you call for it, they never come. Oh and check out my review for Festa buffet on false advertising. I won't even bother to mention the old ugly dealers + servers on the players table. Not sure how they got 4 star from Forbes.

This is a review for the resort/pool only: I stayed here a few nights over the 4th of July weekend- the rooms are nice and clean, very spacious...the bathrooms are really pretty, but we had the tiniest towel rack for 3 people which was odd...there was no shower door which is totally trendy and such, but water sprayed out onto the floor with each shower. The lighting in the bathroom was awful- no way to do my makeup properly. There are mirrors above the desk, but it's mounted so high that you have to stand to use it. Another larger mirror is in the hall- but the lighting is so poor that you cannot do hair or makeup there either...just little things that are annoying when three people have to share a bathroom...and one person is REALLY into their makeup routine. The beds were comfy...everything else in the room was nice as well. The room was comped for us for the three days...so can't complain really. The view was very pretty and we were quite high up, so lots to see. The elevators were taking ages the entire weekend due to the high volume of guests which made it a little annoying to get back to the room. Room service is friendly and puts up with people who may or may not have been drinking quite a lot and are making strange demands. The pool is very nice, but s it was 4th of July it was filled with kids. Like billions of them. I had one with me too so I guess I added to the shenanigans. I had a bad experience with one pool server- I ordered a $30 pitcher of raspberry vodka lemonade with fresh raspberries in it. When it arrived, there was no fruit in it. I asked where it was, and he told me there weren't supposed to be any raspberries in the drink..I then had to show him the menu to prove what I was saying. I asked if he could do anything about it and he came back from the bar saying they could put maraschino cherries in it. Yeah, great, put those in my $30 drink. The same server was really awkward the entire time- messed up food orders, was strange when he brought items to us as well. The rest of the pool staff-namely the security- were awesome- they made sure everyone as safe and stopped to chat with guests from time to time. Really nice guys.

The man at the players club was incredibly unhelpful and unsympathetic towards our problem. That would have never happened at a high class resort. He turned us away without even trying to solve the problem or giving us an alternative. Will not return.

This place is a mixed bag. The hotel is nice enough, but the pool was full of about a hundred children, so not relaxing at all. The PY Steakhouse is fabulous, giving it 5 stars on it's own. When I tried to get a drink, I waited in line at the center bar for 15 minutes and decided to go to the Chinese restaurant, which was fine, and rates about 3.5 stars. Then the buffet, which is overpriced at $15 for lunch. There are plenty of choices, it's just that the food isn't that good, so it rounds out to about 2 stars. So, with all things considered, Casino Del Sol is an okay place to spend a few hours, or stay if you're going to AVA for a concert. The outdoor theater is a lovely place for an evening of music.

It's like dropping a mid-level Atlantic City casino in the desert. Same caliber of clientele, just with a Southwest flair. Specifically, replace New York douchebags, guidos and chain-smoking, post-menopausal New Jersey housewives with Arizona douchebags, trailer park hee-haws and chain smoking retirees. The machines and tables are ample for a smaller resort. Rooms are large, clean and the view of the surrounding desert is incredible from the upper floors. Amazing pool. The food was actually pretty good too- we opted for the sushi restaurant as the buffet area looked like the cafeteria at a rest home. Lots of down-on-their-luck old folks bent over plates of soft foods silently masticating, waiting for grim death. The pall of cheap cigarette smoke is thick and all-pervasive, so plan on smelling like a strip club after losing your shirt. So I had some good sushi and left broke and reeking of Pall Malls. Not the worst night of my life. Walked by one of the "Tribe's" Bentleys parked out front after checkout- so at least my loss is someone's gain.

Came out for the Al Green tribute preformed by Willie Clayton. Overall it was a decent atmosphere, drinks were pretty watered down and a few were over priced. But considering the fact that this same artist had a show for $30 a person a few weeks ago, I'll pay for a few drinks for free entry to a good old school show. Best Casino in Tucson hands down, make sure you wash the smoke out of your hair when you leave.

I had a great experience at the resort and pool when staying there for a recent concert. The room was very comfortable and modern. Surprisingly spacious but a little on the dark side. Another Yelper mentioned the lighting and the resort could definitely do better for the ladyfolk trying to do hair and make up in the dimly lit room and bathroom. We lucked out and found the pool not too terribly crowded which meant we made a very attentive waiter. I really appreciated the honesty and customer service level when my friend left her small wallet at the pool when we went upstairs to get ready for the concert. It was at least an hour or more before this was realized and the pool staff led us right to the missing wallet, tucked safely behind the bar. We only took advantage of Moby's, the beach themed diner inside the casino because we'd hoped it would be fast. And they were! I came down separately from my friends to place a to go order and saw that the special was a Cuban sandwich. My favorite! Alas, it was not to be as they had just run out. I asked the girl at the register for the fastest menu item and she replied that it would be a grilled cheese sandwich. Order up! Seriously, they took care of me because I had that sandwich and fries in the same amount of time it would have taken me to make it at home where I am the only customer. I don't get the complaint that Casino del Sol is sooooooo far. I live in NW Tucson and drove from Ina down I-10 to I-19 (30 minutes?) and then once I got off on Valencia it was no more than 10 minutes to the resort. I think it takes just as long to get to Starr Pass, which is a nicer hotel but I can't gamble at Starr Pass and the only music I can jam to is piped in music in the tequila bar. So if you really think it's that far, pack a few water bottles, some snacks and get to gettin' because you'll have a great time at Casino del Sol whether you gamble or not!

We stayed here when my nephew graduated from U of A. I figured that since it was a casino, we'd have something to do and a place to stay cool in our down time. The rooms are clean and spacious. I attribute this to the newness of the place. The casino was loud and filled with drunks who just graduated from college - go figure. There was a band playing in one section that was decent, but my aged ears were bleeding from the decibel level. We joined their player's club and were both given a free food voucher. We had breakfast at the buffet, and I can honestly say it was the WORST BUFFET FOOD I've ever had at any time in my life. Everything tasted and looked like it had been sitting there for hours. I doubt that I'll ever have a need to return to Tucson or stay at Casino Del Sol. Their website makes it look like a resort from the Las Vegas strip, but it's not what you get.

What an amazing place! I thought I was going to be like any other AZ casino but when I arrived it felt as if I was in Vegas. The rooms are amazing, the casino is big, and there's plenty to do if you don't want to gamble. I will eventually comeback (from California).

COUGH SPUTTER Just what I wanted a good start on Second Hand Smoke Lung cancer. I wreaked of cigarette smoke when I left. I did not see that many people smoking. I guess they do not clean or filter the air. So tobacco smoke spit out of the black lungs of an addict makes you want to sit and fill a machine with your money for hours??? I can think of a million better things to do with my money and time and life.

We think Casino Del Sol is a great casino for Tucson. It's not as nice as the best of Vegas but that's really an unfair comparison. It's small for sure, but the layout breaks it up in different sections to make it interesting. While they have lots of the standard machines, they always have some of the newest machines. "Wonder Woman" seems like the latest. We've been lucky at Casino Del Sol -- so obviously we think it's great.

I do not know much about casinos and I assume that the ones in Las Vegas are ten times better, but for Tucson this place is the nicest one. I love that they get some pretty good concerts, again not the best performers like you would get up in Phoenix, but it's worth the visit every now and then. The casino is really nice and although I haven't had any luck, it's fun. They also have some pretty good, and not too pricey, restaurants in and around the casino. I would definitely go with this place instead of the desert diamond casino on Nogales highway. It's much cleaner and much more fun!

My girlfriend and I found this place on Expedia. I was somewhat reluctant to stay at a hotel/casino, but by the time we checked in I changed my tune. This is a great hotel, the staff are awesome. The only thing keeping me from giving this place five stars is the fact that the casino is so smoky. We arrived about 3 hours earlier than check-in. The receptionist was delightful, she seemed genuinely excited to have us there. In spite of being so early, they had a great room on the 5th floor overlooking the pool for us. No charge for early check-in, and the room was awesome. We had a king bed and an extra couch. The room was tastefully decorated, and the climate in the room was perfect. Housekeeping knocked it out of the park every night. The pool is one of the best things about this place. They have the nicest staff working the bar there- try to get Marco if you want the best service- the guy is cool as can be, and he's there to make you happy. The music they play is fun, the water is perfect (just right on the pH balance), and the hot tubs are a nice amenity after a tough workout or round of golf. The valet service is also worth a mention. Valet is free (bonus!) and the guys that work there are as quick as can be. Every valet was nice and sprinted to get our car for us. Overall, this place was fantastic. I'm looking forward to staying here in the future. I just wish they'd work on a ventilation system for the casino. I enjoy playing, but I loathe the smell of smoke. Still an outstanding property with some of the friendliest staff around.

6 of us drove down from Las Vegas this past weekend for a concert at the AVA Amphitheater. We stayed at Casino del Sol. The rooms were very nice, and well appointed, and we enjoyed the pool area. We ate at the buffet Saturday morning for breakfast, and it was decent for the price ($9, but we had a dining credit for signing up for the player's card). Nice selection of table games and slots, as well. Our only complaint would be late-night dining. There are only 2 options, a diner (45 minute wait), or a take-out window at a Mexican place. The wait was VERY long, although there were only 2 people in front of me when I ordered. A huge group of drunks came in after my order, and all received their food before I did. My order was not complex - nachos and a burro. Unacceptable. The staff was very friendly, although quite confused about splitting payment for 2 rooms between 6 people. They relied on the "our system doesn't allow partial payments". In 2014, they should have a better system. Overall, nice stay.

This review pertains to the buffet. Thank goodness it was comped, as we are new club members. Would have been extremely upset to have paid $19.99 for this meal. Food was lukewarm at best. We arrived at 5 pm, it opened at 4, and the food was already dried out. Marinara sauce watery, Alfredo sauce had absolutely no flavor. Actually most of the food was flavorless, bland. Maybe the kitchen ran out of salt, seasonings. Tri tip, turkey so dry you could hardly chew it. The green beans and the New York cheesecake were good. Service was excellent as was the cleanliness. Will not return!

Hands down the WORST experience I have ever had at a hotel. My boyfriend booked a room on a Tuesday with the intent of having a relaxing midweek break. We arrived at 354, and were told our room wasn't ready and check in time was 4pm. The front desk rep made no effort to accommodate us, simply said "we will call you when it's ready". I realize there are many reasons that this could have occurred, but an off season Tuesday when the hotel is essentially empty- what? Ok fine, so we decide to go walk around a bit, we are immediately stopped by a security guard who rudely exclaims "I need to see in your bags". I'm sorry, what? So my room isn't ready and now you think I'm a criminal because I have a back pack. I am white, and I have money, don't profile me. No, you can't check my bag. So, angered and upset, we went to the spa. Came back roughly 2 hours later and the room was ready, but again, no apology or acknowledgment of the issue. There is a certain level of respect and class that comes with the word resort, and casino del sol does not have it! The saving grace of this horrible experience was PY steak house. The food was amazing, service was superb and the atmosphere was perfect. But I will never stay at this hotel again!!! Beware!

I rarely gamble but this place was a perfect place for me to spend time with my customer here. I signed up for the Club Sol card and got a free buffet and $10. I won $29 using the free $10 gift and used their free buffet of $19 so I was a happy customer. Not too smoky here but has a faint smell. Looks like the PY Steakhouse is a high end place and hope to try it next time. I am coming back to play at the Sewailo Golf Course on the property which looks amazing.

The drive to Casino del Sol is long from most parts of Tucson, however it is worth the time. We frequently drive out to the casino for drinks, watch a show or to stay the night. Casino - The casino is clean but smoky as smoking is allowed in the casino. Populated mostly by seniors, but peppered with younger locals. We don't play the tables but do occasionally hit the slots. Some machines seem looser than others, so it just takes a little experimentation to find them. There are two bars and they have monthly drink specials which usually include two or three selections of $2.50 beers. Clubs - The Paradiso Lounge is an open stage that usually has live bands. Thursday nights are cover bands from around the world with no cover charge. Venues - AVA Amphitheater is a great outdoor venue that does have regular concerts. Summer months are not as much fun because of the heat, even after the sun goes down. Hotel - This is a true 5 star hotel and the nightly price reflects it. On average a stay will cost you about $130 for a night, but the rooms are luxurious with top notch furnishings. All rooms have a safe, refrigerator and usually a couch in addition to your regular hotel room furnishings. The hotel pool is large and refreshing, especially in the summer heat, however weekends tend to have a lot of children. Overall, Casino del Sol is a fantastic place to have a beer and watch the game, gamble, see a live concert or stay the night. Worth the drive.

Two weeks after my first visit to Casino Del Sol, I came back with my family for my grandpa's birthday. The family that gambles together stays together. Don't judge us. Our time at the casino was great! The blackjack dealers were all really friendly, the cocktail waitress was just as nice and made rounds frequently. She even brought me a bottle of water with each drink. Unfortunately, when we went to leave everything went downhill. My boyfriend and I decided before the night to take a cab home and had hitched a ride to the casino with family who were spending the night at the hotel. At around 2 a.m., we asked a security guard where the cabs were. She said she would call for one and it would be about 15 minutes. She said we had to wait outside otherwise we might lose our cab. We also called Discount Cab just to be safe. Discount couldn't give us an estimated time frame, but we figured the hotel had taken care of things. 40 minutes later, my we followed up with a different security guard . He had no update but said he saw a guy wait for over 90 minutes the other night. Great. Obviously the hotel knows they have a problem with cabs and have done nothing about it. At around 3:00 a.m., we spoke to another security guard who was of no help. At 3:30 a.m., a VIP Taxi pulled up. My boyfriend and I tried to get in, but the driver informed us he was there to pick up an employee. We then spoke with the security guard as to how we were unable to get a cab after 2 hours, but an employee could get one in 10 minutes. The security guard was rude and told us we should get over it. Finally, around 4:10 a.m., the Discount cab that WE called arrived to picked us up. The hotel's response also left something to be desired. I sent the casino a message on their website the following day detailing the incident and got no response. A week and a half later, I found an email to the customer service group and re-sent my response. 4 days later I got a response from customer service saying they were investigating the matter and would get back to me when they had finished the investigation. I emailed them back today, 10 days after they said they were investigating. They responded that they did investigate, the Security Department took appropriate action, and they are looking into cab options. I'm glad they finally got around to looking into things, but it stinks that I had to be the one to follow-up. Also, how does a casino just now start looking into cab options when they are already an established business? I will probably be back to Casino Del Sol because I had fun on both my visits. In the future though, I will not be drinking, and I'm certainly not taking a cab!

I've had the good fortune of staying here several times. Good time to go is anywhere between about September and December. That is if you intend to spend any time outdoors. The pool alone deserves its own review. Lovely, lovely views and two jacuzzis along with a poolside bar makes me -- and others -- very happy. And you can rent out a cabana and get the special treatment. I like that you are actually able to close each of the drapes in the cabanas and have nearly full privacy. So, this casino is still relatively new. It opened November 11, 2011. What that means is that you don't walk into the place and find that your entire body is cutting the cigarette smoke and smoke residue. You know what I'm saying. Have you ever been in one of those old timey casinos? Maybe in Vegas? You walk in and the cigarette smoke is so thick you can literally feel it on your skin, sitting on your eyelashes and glazing your eyeballs? Bleeccchhhhttt!!! Moving on in the review. So, yes -- everything is still shiny. And they have some very nice restaurants. I like Mr. Ans and PY the best of the, what, five restaurants they have here. Also, the bar areas are very nice. Trusted there is absolutely no way to get away from the clanks, dings and swirling sounds from the machines. That's OK. Just come along with a date or someone you are so entralled with and you will never notice. But -- what?! No taste on the wine?! Fail! Also, the room service can be so, so slow sometimes. But some of the other positives make up for it. So, yes -- I enjoy this spot and look forward to my next night over.

I've stayed here often, and it's by far my favorite casino in AZ--in fact, it's my favorite casino/hotel of all, period. Sweetest staff I've ever encountered, and I'm treated like royalty from the moment I pull up to the valet. The rooms in the hotel are absolutely beautiful--also the best I've ever had--and now they've got PY Steakhouse, which is one of the best upscale restaurants in town. Service with a smile, and lots of fun "perks" to make your stay even more memorable. I cannot recommend it enough! My favorite getaway! Excellent concerts at AVA, too. But I love to just kick back or have a blast at the casino, most of all. Just a delightful experience from start to finish--and I haven't even tried the spa yet! Can't wait to add that to my list of things to love about this place.

I love this place. It's the closest thing to a Vegas casino I've seen. Slots, table games and a poker room. The restaurants are all amazing and they have a good variety. Mexican, American, steakhouse and more. They have two Starbucks. Free entertainment some nights. Their concert venue is great, but the thing that stands out the most is the hotel. Beautiful rooms. The pool area is amazing, relaxing and fun. This is hands down the best thing in Tucson. There is something for everyone of all ages. In the summer my kids like staying there and enjoying the pool and restaurants. Sign up for a players club card. They send you great deals on rooms, free concert tickets and free play. The buffet is great, especially the Sunday brunch which includes champagne. Great job casino del sol.

We were received a free night stay through the players club. We tried to reserve a Friday night but was told the voucher had restrictions, was worth $85 and we had to use it within a certain amount of time. We ended up using the voucher for Sunday night and paid for Saturday ourselves. We found out later that to stay at the hotel on Sunday was cheaper ($65.00), I would have rather paid $65.00 instead of $130.00. When we reserved our room we tried asking if we could use the voucher and just pay the difference for Sunday, were told that wasn't allowed. When we checked in, the representative asked us how many wristbands for the pool were needed, we said 4. We later found out that we should have gone back to the front desk for each day we wanted to use the pool. Pool security stopped us and told us we had the wrong color wristbands. A little embarassing because it was in front of everyone, some probably thought we were trying to sneak into the pool. I could have overlooked the voucher restriction and the minor pool embarrassment and given my stay more stars. The one thing that justifies my 1 star is the fact that I kept getting phone calls with no answer at 3:00am in the morning. At first I thought it was a wake up call but after looking at the time, I though someone is prank calling me. That was not the case, the internal casino "modem" kept calling my room. I checked the history of phone calls and the night before it did the same thing but I didn't notice because I was in the casino. I had to literally take the phone off the hook to prevent the phone from ringing. On top of the phone call, the room next me had a couple violently arguing, I could hear them clearly through the walls. For a four-star resort casino, mistakes like these are not acceptable. As a result, I will not stay there again.

Decided to venture out for my birthday & I was not disappointed. After reading some of the reviews I had serious reservations about coming here but I loved the atmosphere and the free Festa buffet and play didn't hurt either. The buffet beat any one I've had in this town so far so I'm not sure what the complaints are about. We went with a party of four and everyone thought the food was good. I especially loved the sushi and the prime rib was pretty tasty. Salad bar was cold (nothing worse than warm lettuce) and although it wasn't sizzler-spectacular I enjoyed my salad. The servers kept the drinks flowing and for a Friday night it was pretty quiet. As for the casino... The band was awesome and if I wasn't so full from eating I probably would have shook my tail feather all night! We had a few drinks and played on our free play and a few more dollars for quite a long time. All in all my hubby broke out even & we have a new spot to escape from the kids every now and again close to home.

NYE in Tucson usually means sweaty Latin dance parties, where you salsa your harem pants off, or hellacious hip hop with a concealed weapon of mass destruction. (No, this is not a sexually-suggestive comment). Enter another alternative - a dance party with an 80s cover band that has as its lead singer a blonde girl from Britain. We figured that, if you're gonna go cheesy, you might as well go all the way - dude up in shoulder pads larger than two of my asses after a Krispie Kreme binge, big hair, and bring your beany lycra-legs with the strawberry-shortcake sox down to Casino Del Sol - a four-star AAA, Forbes and Trip Advisor-rated casino resort 30 minutes from Tucson proper, surrounded by mega self-serve car washes and run by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. As described in their ABOUT US page, "The Yaqui people have a long history rich in cultural traditions..." ...and one of those traditions is to get you to blow your cash in their casino and resort. The casino is in an area that boasts a bevy of Burger Kings and other fast food joints. NYE and the parking lot was packed...not with people clamoring to see the Billy Joel/(Sir) Elton John lookalike dinner show and dance - but to gamble their sequined asses off at the multitude of machines and tables. (Side note: Sequins OR a white cowboy hat - either one you will fit right in.) We didn't gamble but headed straight for the conference hall where the dance was. For a $25 entrance fee, I got a string of Mardi Gras beads (which broke and spilled all over the dance floor as I orgasmically gyrated to the sultry rhythms of a Rick James dressed like a Duran Duran) and a party hat. For another $11, I got get a gin and tonic and a VERY FULL glass of white wine...pretty good deal as far as casinos are concerned. But don't get too happy nursing your drinks, NYE is all about making a fool of yourself on or off the dance floor, while using the excuse of massive amounts of bad alcohol. The dance floor was very large and the crowd eclectic. You had the leftover Billy Joel crowd mingling with the pimpin' 80-year old freeze-dried white suited crowd bumping elbows with the skin-tight leopard skirt and 10-inch heel crowd. Unfortunately, the much-hoped for Footloose dance-off didn't materialize, as most people were Ben-Gaying their way to that coveted midnight countdown. While the conference hall, like the rest of the casino, is tastefully decorated with palatial ceilings, awesome chandeliers, and a carpet pattern that won't give you scurvy - the sound system was terrible. Standing by the stage, we couldn't hear the lead singer whenever she spoke in her bandied British accent. The lights on the dance floor were uncomfortably hot, as management tried to recreate the conditions that the Pascua Yaqui tribe had experienced when they first settled in the hot Arizonan desert and the anger that they felt when the white man took their land away and gave them Casino del Sol in exchange for their loss. But it could've been worse. They could've been stuck with a Kenny Rogers Roasters franchise.

Casino del Sol is the nicest casino in Tucson, hands down. The way they have it set up, you can tell they're trying to make it feel as much like a Vegas casino as they can. The entire casino is very clean. The reason I don't like going to casinos very much is because of the cigarette smoke. In Casino del Sol, though, they have enough air blasting through the place that the smoke isn't very prominent at all unless you're sitting right next to someone actively smoking. Huge plus for non-smokers! There are lots of bathrooms, and it seems like they're always clean, even though I don't ever recall seeing any cleaning crew. It's like magic here or something. The layout flows really nicely. It's not just a giant room full of slot machines. There are hallways and different rooms and sections that really give the space a nice charm to it. The ceiling is a color changing sky, which also makes the space unique and fun. I think that's my favorite part! There are plenty of restaurants to choose from (and there's no tax to pay on the reservation!). They cover most price ranges, from a simple deli, to a fancy steakhouse. There's also places for snacks, like FrozAN. There's even two Starbucks! You can definitely go to Casino del Sol and feel like you're in a different little world, which is the charm of Vegas for many people. So they're doing a good job trying to replicate it! I just wish it wasn't so far from my house!

I wouldn't eat here again on a holiday unless u really can eat seafood n sushi. Price on Xmas day. 35.00 person. I'm deathly allergic to shellfish. No comp cocktails either, what a let down, sure as hell not going to gamble here, already donated enough $$$ to eat for a week in 1 sitting. Major let down.

Nice place to visit specially if you smoke. But stay away from the Asian food restaurant. But if you most eat Asian food Don't try the Tepan. It is the worst available in the city if tucson.

My husband would prefer being audited by the IRS's best while simultaneously having a root canal to ever setting foot in any casino. Wound up here by default. We were amazed at the seemingly intimate interior spaces laid out under the ceilings faux sky motif. Vegas casino's, to my mind, seem raucously cavernous yet mind numbingly claustrophobic. Nothing of that feeling here! Ate @ the buffet - so so food. All the employees we had interactions with were so very helpful and nice. We are going back in a wk. to try PY Steakhouse. Even my husband is looking forward to a rtn. visit!

Stayed two nights here. Rooms are very nice, but the bathroom is a little small. They're modern and clean, which is very important to me. They have a very good selection of restaurants. We dined at the Buffet, Steakhouse & Mexican joint during our stay. Reviews on those are here: PY Steakhouse yelp.com/biz/py-steakhou… Tequila Factory yelp.com/biz/tequila-fac… Festa Buffet yelp.com/biz/festa-buffe… The staff is very friendly. They greeted you at every guest touchpoint and asked if you needed assistance. Overall, this was a very cool place for a short weekend getaway. TIP - Be careful of the speed traps on the road to/from this place. There are photo/radar speed traps that will nail you if you are not careful. Signs warning you about it are small and difficult to read...easy to overlook. A friend got a ticket during our trip Return Factor - 88%

I have never received such deplorable sevice! In our two day stay we encountered rude, negligent staff at every turn. I finally decided to leave earlier than anticipated because I was so irked by the entire experience. The hotel itself was very enjoyable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the linens were amazing. The rooms of the hotel are this casinos only saving grace. Needless to say, I will not return.

The worst poker ever, on a Saturday night, they only have 1 poker table open. Absolutely horse pooh. People come to a casino on a Saturday to play hold em. To only have 1 dealer on a Saturday night, for hold em is unacceptable. Don't go to casino del sol for poker ever, period.

It's been quite a while since I've visited Casino Del Sol and boy, was I amazed and impressed with the improvements and additions that have been made. This must have all come about with the building of the hotel complex for it has a completely different feel to it. It almost feels like you're in Vegas and that's saying something. The machines are pretty new and plentiful with lots of penny machines. There are several eatery choices (used to be only one) including a very fine Festa Buffet and a 50's dining room. My only wish: Ban smoking. This is now my favorite casino in Tucson and I look forward to returning soon to drop a few coins and have a nice bite to eat.

Not impressed with this casino because of the poker room personnel and the rudeness of the receptionist at check in to the hotel. The valet guys were awesome though! Michael was one of the helpful valets. The restaurant was very good that I ate at for lunch. The slots are tight and dull as they are not the fun energetic slots I have played in Nevada. The Room was VERY nice although $100 a night for all my play for two days I thought I should have been more comp off my room. The buffet was great in the morning and terrible at close.

My stay was broken up into two parts. The first part of the week I stayed three nights and the second part of the week I stayed one night. Two entirely different experiences. First Stay Pro: My room had a beautiful view and the casino is great. There is no heavy smoke smell that you often find. The pool area was very enjoyable and I attended a Willie Nelson Concert. First Stay Con: The first night I could hear the couple in the room next to mine consummate the room. Luckily it didn't last long but the ending was loud. The next morning the woman had this long, long conversation on the phone. I now know her whole family's history and I will need therapy to get over that. Second Stay Pro: I had a room Second Stay Con: I had a long, long day on the road and when I arrived at 5 PM,my room was not ready even though check-in time is 4 PM. I was not the only person. When I got to my room I found out my toilet did not flush. No one came to fix it. When I checked out I got "sorry about that". So this is the point. Great hotel if everything goes good. But if there is a problem, you are on your own.

Casinos are just lame. Ate at the "International Buffet", which was pretty standard. ALthough...they did have real horseradish for the prime rib....nice bonus. The only time I come here is to see a concert at the AVA amphitheater. Otherwise...I would skip it.

I am reviewing the hotel and the conference/meeting rooms. First, the staff everywhere throughout this whole building is NICE NICE NICE. Everyone was beyond gracious and accommodating. I have zero complaints about the staff. They would obviously go out of their way to help anyone. Every bartender, every catering staffer, every hotel desk person, all of them, were SO customer-service oriented. Excellent all around in this area. The hotel rooms (standard room, paid $99 a night for a Fri. and Sat. in early August) look nice now because they are relatively new but I am not sure they will hold up over time. Very spacious for such a low price and the views are great. However, the room walls are paper-thin. I mean PAPER!! I heard everything (even the normal volume conversations -- in detail--- happening in the room next door). My neighbors also had a baby that cried for over 3 hours one day which made napping impossible. I have never heard so much through a hotel room wall before. This is a definite problem and I suspect they hear a lot about it from patrons. Another review mentioned that the room lighting is bad. This is true. It was nearly impossible to put on makeup even though they had a nice magnification mirror in the bathroom. I tried every spot and couldnt find a place with lighting. I ended up sitting by the window because it was still daylight and holding up my tiny compact on the couch. This is a small but highly frustrating thing for a woman. The shower and bathrooms are very nice in the rooms. High quality and the water was warm. I really liked the bathroom. So clean, too! The TVs are pretty neat because you can check-out on them. The free wi-fi was spotty and made me login again on their page over and over. The AV in the meeting rooms was cruddy. The mics went in and out and had a lot of interference. However the system is built-in rather than set up like most AV places, so I guess you get what you pay for. The art in all the conference rooms was gorgeous but it was so cold in all of them that I left my meeting to go defrost. I am not an "always cold" person -- lots of other people were frosty too. Conference room catering was good for the most part. Some things were high quality and delicious, others felt and tasted very mediocre chain-like. Hit and miss. The pool was always crowded with families. Not a relaxing environment at all. Spa service menu was very reasonably priced but not a lot of options. No deep tissue massage?! I would go back. I want to try the steakhouse.

I've seen better casinos. Most of the floor consists of slot machines. Only saw 18 poker tables open. Also, watch out when you use a credit card because the might overcharge you. Ordered about $14 worth of food from Moby's and I was charged almost 10 times that amount.

Holy moly awesome Casino! Super Duper nice for Tucson and could even be considered a little touch of Vegas. I did not stay at this hotel, but I did spend like 4 hours gambling. It was super clean and nice. The ceilings have that feeling like the Paris Hotel in Vegas and there was not a constant smoking smell as it was spread out a bit more. They have many many machines that look bright shiny new and a few different areas spread out to play. Plenty of tables as well. I think I really enjoyed coming here because I also kept winning a lot. There must be a good payback rate or something because I felt like a constant winner. Even though I ended up losing $50 at the end due to greed, what matters is that I had fun. Would love to come here again!

Our experience at the hotel was very meh. It was nice to be offered a complimentary upgrade to the sky level. Room service is relatively inexpensive, but the food quality and tastes is commensurate with the cost. We ended up having a roach as guest in our room in addition to several flying bugs. When we first complained to the front desk they were not surprised and were unapologetic. We then complained to the front desk manager and were given a 50% discount on one night's rate. The housekeeping did not come up until 45 minutes later to get rid of the roach either. The casino is okay. It seems mostly to be an attraction for locals. Some of the dealers are very nice, others are unnecessarily rude. There are no complimentary drinks. The casino is very stingy on its comps. We had to catch an early flight on our date of departure and were surprised when we called downstairs at 5:10 am and were told that there is no valet on duty and that we can collect our keys from security and go find our car ourselves. This was particularly surprising because this is a large hotel and casino -- one would think that there is always enough staff to have someone get a valeted car. The sushi/chinese restaurant's food was okay, but the service was excellent. The hotel is a good choice if you are in Tucson for a night, want something close to the airport, would enjoy some table games during your stay and do not want to stay at the average airport hotel. It is also close to I-19, which can be convenient.

I didn't have a pleasant experience at all! First I check and she tells me my card is declined so I proceed to figure out why and call my bank and the room had already been charged twice amd went through. Then the lady at the front desk wrote down the wrong room number so I had to return to the front desk to tell her my keys didnt work. So after over an hour I am finally in my room. Very disappointed with no apologies from any staff. To top matters off when I returned from dinner (which was fantastic) I noticed someone had been in my room and rearranged some things on the bed and the slippers were out. Total violation of privacy I feel. Short story NEVER RETURNING!!!

Love the all you can eat buffet! After 8pm it was two for $20! The rooms are gorgeous, pool is clean and warm and tons of restaurants and bars to choose from. Really great atmosphere! I definitely choose the right place to get away for my birthday!

Bingo Review: I came for the B-I-N-G-O baby! It is great people watching and half the room is non-smoking. For 27 bucks you get the biggest pay out and the electronic machine as well as all special games. There is a snack bar inside as well. They have a giant screen with the number lit up that have been called, with the most recent number flashing, in case you did not hear the announcer. There are also televisions that show the ball that is about to be called. If you play the electronic machine, it tells you when you are one away, two away etc. Each game has a different color and different pattern. You can go old school and buy a dauber for a dollar and stick with paper. Sadly, the bingo gods were not with me that day. Ever more bad news, is that there is no more cosmic bingo with the drag queens. So, the last game starts around 630 pm. I was really looking forward to backlights, disco lights, djs and drag queens. Free water and soft drinks or you can purchase an adult beverage but have cash or someone who can run to a bar outside the bingo room. There are about 2-3 breaks throughout the evening. Casino Review: The casino has an illuminate sky scene similar to that of Cesar's Palace in Vegas. There are plenty of bars to wet your whistle, and some have quite good mixologists, they have even won competitions in Vegas. There are dark intimate bars with rich wood, tequila bars, a bar around the stage, a bar in the center of the gaming floor, a high roller bar, as well as inside each restaurant. Each places has a different selection and specialty. They do have complimentary bottled water, soft drinks. Near the hotel, they have a water infused with basil and orange that was very tasty. I felt they did not have many gaming tables, but they had plenty of slot machines even penny machines. I was hoping for a Price is Right Machine, but no luck. Sex in the City, Michael Jackson, Wheel of Fortune were a few. In the main gaming room is a stage with a live band, at least last Saturday there was. Casino Del Sol has many dining options. A buffet, a 60's surf style diner, taqueria, Py's fine steakhouse, and the tequila grill. I ate ate the tequila grill and had a fabulous steak dinner that was under 18 bucks and Saturday's margaritas are only three dollars. Casino Del Sol is kind of smoky, so take heed. I felt it was a fun night out and look forward to winning bingo, but please bring back cosmic bingo or update your webpage. It might be fun to check out a concert or comedian in the future.

I've never eaten here before, so the review is for the gambling portion only. The inside of this place is beautiful! Blue skies, columns, it feels open and inviting. They obviously spent a lot of money figuring out how to decorate this place to make people want to stay for long periods of time and spend money. The blackjack tables have a sidebet called 'straight jack' which is fun to play (though I wouldn't recommend putting more than one dollar on the side bet for every five on the main bet, it isn't cost efficient). The poker room is spacious and clean and has interesting promotions running most of the time. Almost every employee that I've met there has been friendly and helpful. If you're determined to lose your money, lose it here! At least you'll have a good time!

My hubby and I revisited this casino recently and the buffet was better than it was the first trip. The desserts were fresh and rich, and the Chinese selection still pleased this gal. ;) I think my bowl of soft serve at the end of the meal (after my other 6 desserts) was covered in at least 5 toppings. Perhaps more. It was a chocolate and caramel medley. Slimy, yet satisfying. The french toast was a bit dry by the time we went, Sunday afternoon, but once you soak something in syrup, it doesn't really matter how dry it was to start with, does it? A paper napkin covered in syrup could probably pose as a passable 'crepe.' We played the slots and lost a bunch of money. Played blackjack and lost some money. That's to be expected.

My wife and I went down to Tucson for the KLPX Birthday Bash to see Night Ranger & Whitesnake at the AVA Amphitheater. Since the hotel is right next door we thought it would make a great place to stay and it definitely was a great place. Check-in was a breeze. Sure, it's a casino hotel, but unlike Vegas, there were only three stations to check-in, not 20. All three had people taking care of guests and we only had to wait a minute or two. The gentleman that helped us was very courteous and knowledgeable. I had a question about the concert start time (the tickets said 8:00 but a page on the KLPX site said 6:00) and he went out of his way to try and find the answer. He said I'd have to check back after 4:00 p.m. when they get the lineup. He made the effort and that's all I can ask for. We had a room with a king sized bed and the room itself was very nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable with more pillows than anyone would need. There was your typical couch, desk and safe. The only knock on the room was that the A/C, even though it was set to 65, didn't seem to have things as cold as I'd expect. There is a decent selection of restaurants and since we only ate at the Mexican restaurant I can't vouch for the quality of them all, but the Mexican restaurant Tequila Factory was good (avoid the crab nachos, though). The service at the bars was good (have to have my pre-show drinks) and the prices were amazing. A vodka & soda is only $5.00. Granted that was the well brand, but certainly not the Phoenix prices I'm used to. Also, bottles of water are free at the bar. BTW, if you ask the bartender for a few bottles, don't be afraid to throw them a buck or two. What's the difference between getting me a bottle of water and drink? Not much. I can't comment on the games or dealers as we didn't play on this trip but the tables themselves and casino overall looked nice and not run down. It didn't seem especially smoky although I did smell cigar smoke a few times which is something I really don't care for. The pool area is nice & spacious. We were only out there after dinner walking around so the Oasis bar was closed. The pool chairs looked like they were in nice condition and the pool looked clean. There were also two hot tubs that looked inviting. Overall, this is a great place to stay, especially if you're going to a concert at AVA Amphitheater. If I lived in Tucson and wanted a place for a couple of days worth of "staycation", I'd definitely put this near the top of my list!

I have seen that a lot of yelpers compare this to Vegas. Let's just say there is no comparison to the glitz and glamour of Vegas, so let's just stop doing that, ok? For a Tucson, AZ casino, this is where it's at. They have a nicer new hotel and several restaurants. Their pool could stand to be kid-free, but it is still nice. As for gambling, they do have a nice selection of new slots and a bunch of tables. I have never had to wait to play. I have been to this casino several times, most recent being last night. A few friends and I have gone there to play bingo for their Thursday night Club Sol appreciation night. Thursday nights you get 20% off bingo with your Club Sol Card. To get a Club Sol card you just go to card services, show them your id, and you get a free card. Each time you go to the casino, you can enter into contests by just sliding your card at the kiosks, and you get rewards points and discounts. When I signed up, I also got $10.00 in free play. yay! Bingo is fun, there are always a lot of people, be sure to sit in the non-smoking section if you don't care to get lung cancer. This plays fills up, so get there early. There are complimentary soft drinks, and also a snack bar with some baseball-like concessions. I have stayed at the hotel before, our Ad2 Tucson organization held our ADstravaganza event there a couple of years ago. The event staff did an outstanding job and we loved the space by the pool. We stayed over night, it was nice, but probably not the nicest place in Tucson if you are looking to relax. It was pretty loud, and if I hadn't have passed out from drinking, I might have had a problem. I have also eaten at the PY Steakhouse, which I will review separately.

A little bit of Vegas in the desert. We always have a great time at Casino Del Sol. The staff is friendly and remember us on each visit. The main interior reminds me of the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas as it is designed to look like the outdoors, indoors. Restaurant choices are good with a taco shop, Steak House, fantistic sushi restaurant, buffet, and 24 hour diner. The only improvement might be a food court type area for a quick bite. The casino also offers two Starbucks and a hotel. If you are in the mood for a custom made cocktail, make your way over to the high roller bar and ask for the speciallty cocktail menu.

Absolutely stunning, visually. This place is gorgeous, inside & out. Reasonable on gambling, great staff, AWESOME drinks at Prema. The buffet was great both nights with different styles of food. I didn't go to the pool, but I had a view of it from my room and it was beautiful. Speaking of the room, I booked a sky level queen and it was fantastic. Comfy as hell beds, crisp TV, the whole sha bang. Verdict: STAY HERE!!!

I was able to visit this casino during a recent trip to Tucson. It's become somewhat of a tradition for a friend and I to visit the casino the night of my arrival. This was my first visit to Casino Del Sol and hopefully not my last. It's a gorgeous building with a festive and fun atmosphere. Even though it seems every other person is smoking, it never felt "too" smoky for me. Now, if I could just win some money .......

Pleasantly surprised for an Arizona casino. Attracts many types of people and really isn't too far from the Tucson city center. Inside, there is a sky ceiling a laThe Venetian or The Paris in Las Vegas, which have a particularly brighter look inside the casino due to the "sky-hued" ceiling. Nice touch. Blackjack tables have first-deal surrender which seems to be beyond the comprehension of most of the locals who come there to bet $50 to hit a 16 when dealer is showing a 10. I was surrendering a ton and was called out on it by a guy who was losing about 5 times the amount I was ( was actually up due to being able to scavenge some dollars on sure losses). He just didn't get it, and continued hitting crappy hands, successful maybe twice. So that's the thing, at this casino, even the dealers think surrender is a scam, that it messes up cards, but that's wrong if its done in a judicious way. So if you use surrender you will see eyes roll around you, be wary of that. Must not be in the local culture to "give up", but instead just lose it all trying to beat a 20. That was my experience anyway. They also have Spanish 21 which allows second-deal surrender and up. Pretty interesting, but the minimum bets are almost always higher (greater than $5). Pai-gow and, I believe, Baccarat are also available. I'd recommend this casino for aesthetic purposes over Desert Diamond.

Casino Del Sol is a beautiful, newer establishment. The rooms are nicely decorated, the beds are comfortable and if you can get a view of the pool / mountains... you'll be impressed. There are plenty of dining options for a 1-2 night stay (The Tequilla Factory was our favorite). Didn't win any money, but we had a great "stay-cation". Staff was friendly, however, it was impossible to reach the front desk (we had to call from a cellphone). 4 Stars ****.

Complete state of dilapidation. Extremely small casino...no roulette tables, TWO poker tables..smells like crap and barely a selection of slots at all. Nobody was winning anything the day I was here for several hours. Blew through about $800 in their socalled "high limit" section which consisted of mostly $5 machines...most high limit sections at all the casinos I've ever been to have at least $50 slots where you can win large prizes. Rude employees, didn't seem to care about anything at all when I asked a simple question of where the bathroom was. Hope the place burns down.

I wish I knew the name of the bar outside of PY because here's another bad review for them. This time, we actually dined at PY, our second time. The food was great, but this bar unfortunately makes the cocktails. Apparently someone behind the bar was completely clueless. Casino Del Sol paid a mixologist to create signature cocktails for them. Great job, but you need bartenders who can make them. Last time, the Negronita was fabulous. This time, instead of being served in a glass over a large, slow melting ice cube, my drink was served as a martini. That would have been acceptable if it had been shaken with some ice first. No, all the ingredients were dumped into a glass, warm. $9.00. After dinner we ordered 2 classic drinks, a Brandy Alexander and a Grasshopper. After a 30 minute wait we got two pathetic drinks served in tiny champagne glasses at $8 each. Kahlua doesn't belong in either drink, but both were full of it. I contemplated writing the recipes down for the bartender but didn't. If you can't make a drink, say so. Don't fake it and then try to charge an overblown price for your mistake. After complaining, the waitress took the horrible drinks off of our bill. If PY really wants to stand out as a fine dining steakhouse, then Casino Del Sol needs to better train the bartenders who serve the restaurant. The other prime steakhouses in town have bartenders who make consistent, delicious cocktails. A good portion of our bill is always drinks. This is my second one star review for this bar/lounge. The food and service at PY is fantastic, but this horrible bar will eventually kill their business.

Tip I was given, watch your speed from I19 all the way to the casino, cameras and hidden police pick off the speeders. Also watch out for the night time variable speed limits. The casino is a lot better than the other local Desert Diamond. The interior is close to the Paris or Venetian in vegas. They have a great layout with some really modern slots. Lots of places to eat, but I was very surprised with the buffet. It was well worth the price. The selection was wide and well presented. I did read and experience the smokey atmosphere, it was a little more than normal for casinos but not much. The front area was actually smoke free, it wasn't even noticeable until we went into the rear area with the stage and bar.

I received a new member reward after staying at their hotel two different weekends and attending three different concerts within a few weeks just last month. The mailer was for a $59 room rate which expired within a week after receiving it. I called to see if I could extend it a few days to Friday which is my wife's birthday. We stayed last month at regular rate and didn't even get to enjoy the pool because of the monsoons. My regular rate with AAA is $107 so because of a mere $48 in savings that I couldn't be given, I will never return and I would have spent hundreds of extra dollars between drinks and food at the pool, other meals, and gambling all evening to have more than made up for it. In Vegas they completely comp me twice a year because they want my business! To me its just the principle of bad vs good customer service!

Review for casino only! Strolled in here with two of my friends around 1:00 AM on a Saturday night (uhh..I guess that's actually Sunday morning...) and it was still pretty busy, considering. I get the feeling that someone with previous time/experience in Vegas definitely had a hand in the design and interior decorating of the place-- there is some very obvious similarity to resorts such as The Venetian and the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. Anyway, we came to play blackjack, and play blackjack we did!! There were a few $10 and $25 tables and one $5 table. We managed to find three seats together and played. And played....AND PLAYED. We finished the rotation of the dealers and started it again. Between the four dealers, we remembered James-- fantastic and interactive dealer and is definitely the best one of the bunch! When all was said and done, we left at 3:30, all three of us up between $90 and $100. We actually went back the next night as we had a few hours to spare, and even though we lost some of our winnings from the previous night, we still had a good experience with the dealers and casino as a whole. A unique little bonus on the blackjack tables is the side-bet game they have: Straight Jack. Pretty much just try to make a run with the cards you're dealt. So, if are dealt two cards that build on each other (for example, 5 and 6, or 9 and 10), this pays 3-1. Three cards in a row is 25-1, 4 cards is around 125-1, and 5+ is 250-1. Definitely a house game, but a few other players at our table won A LOT of money with this side-bet option. Also a plus: 12 oz. Blue Moon was $2.50. Casino of the Sun is extremely impressive for Tucson! Perhaps sometime this summer I'll stay a weekend there.

I'm not a gambler, so I can't really speak to the quality of the machines, the payouts, and all that jazz. I do love pretty sights and gut-busting laughter though, and you can get both here! The main part of the casino looks like you're walking through Italy at dusk. It is absolutely breathtaking! Everything was set up in a circle, so if you get lost, you can just walk around in a circle until you get back to what you're looking for. :) Cosmic Bingo was a blast! There was a drag queen emcee that was absolutely hilarious and every time someone won a game (or thought they won a game) the crowd of regulars would shout out a rehearsed obscenity all at once. Now, I admit, some things were a bit offensive, so if you're a prude like me, you may want to stick to regular ole bingo at the VFW hall with the little old ladies... Or you can just lighten up. One more thing... When I went, a fight broke out and it looked like Clash of the Titans up in there... blood everywhere on the pretty Roman columns! So... when you're walking around in a circle trying to find your way back to your friends, peep out the exits!!

The rooms were gorgeous! The hotel was beautiful. My biggest complaint was when i got their on early Friday morning (2am) they said i didnt have a room until the next day. I spoke with someone a mere 7 hours earlier confirming my check in and check out date and just to let them know i would be arriving late. And what...i don't have a room!!! I was way too tired too get angry. Finally after a mini battle of wits and words they found me a room. I was really annoyed at the lack of communication and customer service.

I was killing time while in Tucson and rolled out to the local Indian casino to see what the hubbub was all about. As I drove up, the parking lot was swarmed with cars, and I just followed the directions of the parking lot attendant. Apparently there was a concert that evening. I walked up to the ticket office to see who was playing, and a Mafioso looking Indian (feather, not dot) gentleman in a suit, turquoise bolo tie and boots put an envelope in my hands. "Enjoy" he said as he walked away. I opened the envelope and inside were two tickets to see the world famous entertainer, Calvin Broadus. That's right. Snoop. Doggy. Dogg! The amphitheater was a surprisingly intimate 5,000 seats. And for whatever reason, the venue was far from full that evening. I checked the seats numbers and sat down in row "ii". I asked the usher if we were in the right seats because we were less than twenty rows from the stage. Well apparently we were in the wrong seats, so he ushered us to row "i". Yeah, that's right. NINE rows from the stage, dead center. I bounced to classics like "What's my Name?" and "Gin and Juice", then later won $400 playing blackjack. I love you Pascua Yaqui Indian tribe!

The Italian facades of the Casino Floor are complimentary to sky painted dome roof that gives a relaxing ambiance to a place where it can get pretty busy. Zebos a bar in the middle is a great place to sit and drink while you wait for friends, or just to relax between rounds of my favorite game, Pai Gow. Pai Gow is one of the best games this Casino has, and with sadly one table, it gets full pretty often. Then you have Bellissimo's for fine Italian food, the Tequila Factory for sports watching and drinks, and Moby's for that old timey Boardwalk feel with great Burgers and Fries. Not as young a crowd as Desert Di. but often has amazing entertainment every thursday at the Amphi Theater and often a place where big names come to play as well. Located a bit far on the SW side, due take caution as there is a Traffic Camera on the road there, you know just a friendly warning.

Hotel was wonderful. Customer service was excellent. The water pressure was lacking but it's in the desert so not a biggie. The casino was smoky but I've experienced worse. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfy. We had an issue with extremely loud neighbors at 3:30 am in the room next to us and it took security awhile to answer. However guest services gave us a discount when we checked out. If we're ever in the area again we'll definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Casino, beautiful rooms, and beautiful atmosphere. The only faults I found were these... 1. Apparently their rooms only have showers, and no shower doors! Wet floor, wet everything, looks cool, but for an upscale hotel I expect a shower door. 2. They have ATMs but not any known companies, which means you have to pay almost 4 dollars to take out cash. 3. Good drinks, but over priced, and over filled with ice. Its like a shot in an 8 ounce glass, and a ton of ice. That's kinda wrong if you ask me. 4. their "penny" slots are not a penny. They load in your money as credits, and it usually takes 5-10 credits to play, which is 10X the penny claim. (its not a huge deal because I'm not huge into slots, but it was odd to find out after I put in my money. Never again). Overall it was a fun experience, and a lovely mini vacation. But I wouldn't make a habit of it.

This has become the Husband and my Friday night hang out. The Casino is pretty well maintained, good lay out. I would say the pay out is pretty decent, depending on what and how you play. It's nice to have a Starbucks and different food options when you need a break. They have bands on Friday night, most of the time they have been pretty good. My only criticism is the smoke. I think they could filter the air better. It can be so bad I get nauseated.

The biggest casino in Tucson. They went thru a remodeling, adding the hotel rooms next door. Its pretty far out from center Tucson but worth the drive. I never win anything but it's a great place to waste the night away...and your money lol. This is probably the closest thing to Vegas in Tucson. During the summer days they host a pool party with DJ.

I'm not a gambler at all, so I would not have ever come here if it weren't for their WET Pool Party in April. Walking through the casino I was transported back to a recent trip to Vegas... it's opulent, huge and sprawling. So big in fact, we got lost trying to find the pool. The party was like something out of Spring Break on MTV. DJ's were playing, people were dancing in their swimsuits everywhere, there was a lot of booze and who knows what else, and people were tossing beach balls around the pool. It was a combination of see-and-be-seen, and dancing with wild abandon. While I'm not normally the night-clubbing type (I prefer underground to Top 40 stuff), it was great people watching and dancing in a pool in my swimsuit was a new experience that I enjoyed. 5:00 marked the party's end, and the Starbucks in the Casino sobered me up enough for the drive home. Apparently the Casino will be throwing these parties throughout the summer. If you are open-minded and enjoy groups like LA Riots, I suggest checking this party out.

This place is unbelievable. My family stayed here this weekend and had high expectations. Casino Del Sol exceeded every one of those expectations by at least a mile. Really. The hotel is beautiful in every way. The rooms are classy and big. The bathrooms are huge and awesome. The pool is breathtaking, surrounded by fountains that light up at night and sparkling glass fire-pits. There are so many restaurants and bars, every one of them with a different ambiance and theme. The hotel bar, Primo, was definitely my favorite. This place is so freaking classy and David and Josue were fantastic bartenders. I could be here every weekend. As for food, Festa Buffet was the highlight of our weekend. Martin, the F&B manager of the buffet totally rolled out the Red Carpet for our family. This place is just as good, if not better than Bally's Sterling Brunch, the Wicked Spoon, or even Simon @ the Palms. I have been to them all and Festa could hold it's own against any of them. Between the quality, value, and service (thanks to Maria, our server) I would rather be here than any Vegas buffet or restaurant. This hotel has it all and everything is reasonable. There was never a time the entire weekend where I felt anything was expensive. Where there a couple of faults, of course. This place is brand new. However, the Pluses outweighed the Minuses 100-fold. If asked what I would change, I can only say 3 things: 1. Better signage for the check-in procedure. (Entrance, Parking, Front Desk, Bell Desk, etc.) 2. Handicapped equipped or automatic doors at the entrance (I hate having to open double doors when doors when my hands are full. This should be done ASAP) 3. Build an Arcade for the kiddies(The perfect location would be by the pool entrance close to the elevators) The Pascua Yaqui tribe really outdid themselves with this resort and should really be proud. I dealt with some really awesome staff during this stay and I really need give thanks to Sylvia Lopez. She really did an awesome job making my wife's birthday special. Sylvia arranged beautiful flowers waiting in the room upon arrival and a Spa treatment that was the best my wife had ever had. Sylvia was extremely professional and the Tribe chose a great person to manage this resort. I really could keep going on and on about how great this place is, but I am tired from all the fun I had at the resort this weekend.

Excellent hotel, staff and service with a beautiful view. We had a King room and the only thing missing was a microwave. I suppose most people don't take leftovers back to their room... Other than that it was probably the best hotel I have visted.

I didn't get to experience this casino too much, but from my brief walk through the inside and the outside, I think it's a prett cool place. Their bathrooms are very clean which is a good sign. It's a beautiful building. I will be back to explore more and write more reviews. I was there for a concert- see my review of the ampitheater for more on that.

I'm very impressed with the new property (Hotel, Resort, Conference Center - opened 11/11/11) It's first-class all the way. The designer behind some big Vegas properties had a hand in the design of the new Casino del Sol. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. The pool, relaxing and if you're there at night, try and catch the water fountain show, like at the Bellagio. Staff is friendly, in fact, a lot of them go above and beyond in my opinion.

We had a family reunion at the casino del sol. It was so great that all 80 of us would love to have another reunion there. The facilities were good and very accomodating. The food and the staff were excellent and extreamly helpful. The casino had a special luau and it was as if we were in hawaii. The Father's Day brunch staff was extremly helpful in seating all 80 of us together and the food was very good.

Typical casino. Walked around, played some slots, we didn't win anything and we noticed no one else really was either. The place was nice though, very clean. We didn't stay in the rooms, but based on the reviews and the way the casino looked, they are probably very nice. We may go back through here again when we're in Tucson.

Everything was going great, I was at the pool and was having a good time. Then I went up to the bar to get a drink, mind you this was going to be my first drink of the day, when I put down 20 dollars and asked for a drink. The bar tender, Bobbie, took my money, went away for a little, then started helping other customers. I stood there for quite a while and when she came back up to me, she told me that I had been cut off.... I didn't understand, and asked if maybe she had gotten me confused with another customer, it was quite busy. she said no, didnt give me a drink, and didnt give me ANY of my money back. So i asked for a manager. When I told the manager the story, she did not believe me and told me I needed to be escorted out of the property. To say the least I was very upset, as this situation was not handled correctly at all. I ended up losing money and got sent off the property for reasons I do not know. Hopefully the staff can realize this problem and deal with its employees.

My entire purpose for going to the casino was to buy Tim McGraw tickets and then attend the concert. I was pleased with the venue. We bought lawn seats and the casino rocked for giving us a military discount on them. I have attended concerts before and had lawn seats, but you are usually so far away from the stage you can't see the act. That wasn't the case here. We could see Tim McGraw really well and the music wasn't deafening. My only complaint is the lawn was extremely crowded and pretty much standing room only. It was still a good show, regardless of standing.

My wife and in-laws just went to the hotels buffet, we spent $16 a per. And god were we disappointed. We would of had g Better fare at the golden corral, or at the very least hometown buffet! They offered two types of meat, some kind of beef that was mostly fat and these little sausages we complained to the manager and she said she would talk to the chef, they just brought more of the same. Never again. The tequila bar is great, if you go try it.

Best casino in Tucson. That's not saying much, but it does really have a Vegas feel to it. Too bad it's out in the middle of nowhere and you lose the Vegas feel as soon as you step back outside. Still, a good place for concerts, either at the AVA Amphitheater or the Paradiso Lounge.

We visited Casino Del Sol for the first time just a couple of weeks ago. We enjoy gambling and often travel to casinos around the world. After reading reviews on Yelp, we decided to give Casino Del Sol a try. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the Spanish style architecture, palm tree lined entry, and welcoming porte corchere. We were greeted by friendly valets and directed to the lobby for check-in. Marble entry, warm wood furnishings, and a refreshing glass urn filled with lemon infused ice water. Very nice. The greeters at check-in were engaging and friendly. We were directed to our room on the Sky Level, which was beautifully decorated and had a stunning view of the mountains. The furnishings were contemporary and actually somewhat posh. A gleaming marble bathroom with a generous size walk-in shower was nicely appointed with bathrobes and lush toiletries, fitting of a five-star resort. We unpacked our bags and explored the casino, which offered a wide range of gaming and a selection of our favorite slot machines in an airy and energetic environment similar to an upscale Vegas casino. A great selection of restaurants (two of which I have reviewed separately), an oasis pool area with private cabanas, and a concierge service there to meet your every need completed the experience. At one point, we were even greeted by the Hotel Manager, who just wanted to make sure we were enjoying our stay. Overall, a wonderful experience that has put Casino Del Sol on our short list of places to stay and play. In fact, we were so impressed that we're headed back next week and are taking friends.

Casino Del Sol, I think offers, not only a great place to gamble, but also to eat and drink. My boyfriend and I are regulars of the Tequila Factory and thier $9 all you can eat taco bar, and you have to try thier shimp skewers appitizer! I have tried almost everything on thier menu an have yet to be disapointed, amazing food! With great customer service to boot! the whole casino for that matter, the whole place just has a really great feel to it and I can't wait for the expansion to open so we can enjoy the new things Casino Del Sol will have to offer.

I often go to this casino for work. Because of that, I am not allowed to gamble there so my review has nothing to do with that aspect of the casino. However, I have visited 20 out of the 22 casinos in the state of Arizona (yes, there are 22!) and I must say that this is one of the nicest casinos. It definitely looks like it could fit in with Vegas casinos. They have a amphitheater with it and they get some pretty big acts. They are currently in the process of building an attached resort and it looks like it will be really nice. In my opinion, this is the nicest of the 4 casinos in Tucson so if you are down there and looking for a place to blow away your money I recommend this one!

I enjoy stopping by this place on Sundays to watch football since they show every game all across the casino. My friends are big fans of the poker tables and their luck is mixed. People of all different ages seem to find something they like here. Parking is plentiful and the decor reminds me of vegas.

Typical casino. Walked around, played some slots, we didn't win anything and we noticed no one else really was either. The place was nice though, very clean. We didn't stay in the rooms, but based on the reviews and the way the casino looked, they are probably very nice. We may go back through here again when we're in Tucson.

I've seen better casinos. Most of the floor consists of slot machines. Only saw 18 poker tables open. Also, watch out when you use a credit card because the might overcharge you. Ordered about $14 worth of food from Moby's and I was charged almost 10 times that amount.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
