I love Amigo's. I've been coming here for a couple years to watch football on Monday and Thursday night. I also come here with coworkers for happy hour. It is hands-down my favorite place to eat and drink after work. Let's start with the food. There's a lot of back-and-forth about the best burger in Tucson, but I think Amigo's has it. Their burgers are top notch. The meat itself is nicely seasoned and juicy, and the bun is golden brown and buttery. Then there are the toppings! They have a huge selection of burgers with different toppings. My go-to is their Southside Burger, which comes with roasted Hatch green chile and cheese. Amazing. I sometimes like to switch it up and get their signature Amigo Burger, which has guac and bacon. Also delicious. I also like the Steak Burger which has A-1 sauce with sautéed mushrooms and onions, which are always perfectly made. They have a number of other burgers that I haven't tried, but I'm betting you can't go wrong. The fries are also great, and they come with a side of house-made spicy chipotle ketchup. I usually ask for a second helping of it! Their beer specials are also great. They have draft beer for $2.50 during happy hour, which runs until 7. They have a good selection, including Barrio Brewing Tucson Blonde. There are two sides to the building: the restaurant and the bar. The restaurant is a well-lit, quiet setting that would be a good place to take a family, or just a nice place to sit if you want to have a conversation. The bar side has a good television setup and they usually have the sound turned up. When there isn't s game on, they're playing music. The lights are lower and there's a pool table in the back. They serve the same menu and drinks on both sides, so it's all good. The servers are friendly and food and drinks always come out pretty quickly. Like I said, this is my favorite after work spot!

I ended up going here with my wife last minute. We were planning a dinner at a near by restaurant but didn't realize they were closed early on Sundays. Luckily Amigos Burgers and Beer was open!! We arrived to an empty dining area and were promptly seated. I really wasn't expecting much in the beer selection as I enjoy a greatly hopped IPA and most places don't offer much beyond the usual fare. Luckily my wife eyed the bottles available and saw they had 3 varieties of Sierra Nevada IPA, WIN. As far as food they offer a variety of burgers and fried foods. For my meal I had a Southside burger which involved an Angus patty, green chilies, pepper jack cheese and cilantro mayo. The burger itself was tasty, the patty was seasoned lightly, and the extras were piled on without being too overwhelming. The bun was toasted and fluffy, and matched the burger well. The fries were seasoned quite heavily and had a real bite to them, this might scare some people away but I love spicy food and this was a great touch! They were also cooked perfectly, crunchy with a soft center! I gotta say, this place was a total surprise, I really didn't expect the food to have much to it but it actually turned out great. I'm also considering just coming there to check out the bar as it seems to be a pretty popular spot!

This is my second time going here due to its proximity to my workplace and I find it mediocre at best. Service is slow and if you ask for no cheese, expect your burger to have cheese on it. Parking is also a pain if you go at a busy time. The food itself is ok. People like the burgers but I don't think it's the best in Tucson by a long shot. Things look burnt and the fries are all soggy. In a nutshell would I come back by choice? Probably not.

We love places like this and I wish I could leave a better review. We went mid week, early lunch, parking lot was full yet the eating area wasn't. There were 4 open tables yet all were dirty. We were instructed to sit down at a dirty table with dishes on it and she would get to us when she could. Awhile went by, we asked her to clean the table, we ordered, 25 min later we were eating. Food looked great but WAY over seasoned and cooked. The burger was saturated with a-1 to where that was all we could taste. The salmon burger tasted like char and the oil was old, French fries and onion rings were way too dark. We might go back, we might not.. the flavors of the food and the execution were poor.

Amy the waitress is awesome. Burger was probably the best I've had in Tucson. The bread was out if this world. Lots of locals. Lots of tv 's for such a small bar so that's awesome.

Seriously slow service. After an hour they finally noticed we were still waiting. Apparently they had only just fired our food. It was only ok.I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The chicken had a weird texture and were it not for the hot sauce, there wasn't much flavor. My boyfriend got the amigo hamburger. I hope it was good, but he had to take it to go and eat in The car on his drive back to work. The apology for the wait was nice but, I think a discount or a free lunch would have been the ONLY reason I would've given this mediocre place a second chance.

Really good burgers and the onion rings are not bad. I asked my my burger med-rare, it was delicious. The only thing that I didn't like was that the cook had to cut my burger in half to see if it's ready

Went to this place and had very slow service 45min later our food came. I had the Southside burger and it looked really good but with first bite was terrible. There were hardly any spices and I could not taste the green chillies. The fries were smokey flavored, almost tasted like they didnt change out the oil in the fryer....yuck.

The burger was first class, cold beer and good conversation made by the bartender. A real gem.

As stated with other reviews, place is a bit run down on the "outside" and I had not thought of stopping in for lunch but by chance I decided to look at Yelp reviews. The reviews were positive so I stopped in for a burger and salad. I enjoyed the burger and the salad was better than most. Lots of avocado and real bacon bits. The place is clean inside with a ton of flat screen TVs. I plan on stopping in for a happy drink or two and I'll work it in for an occasional lunch with friends.

It's funny cause by the looks of the outside and thinking it was going to be a dark dingy bar. I was wrong it was light and a good feeling inside:) But enough of that let me tell you about the greatness of this burger! My husbands taking tiny bites to make it last and I haven't had a burger this good in a long time, they have sauces that come with the fries that are delicious! Also, the food came out very quickly and the gal that took our order was very friendly. Close to the airport and that's nice because we're headed home to Vegas! Spicy catchup is awesome , Fries are great to dip in their cilantro mayo. Green chile burger rocks!

We ended up having to throw our food away. Slow service while there were no other customers for burnt (which is not the definition of "well done") burgers, limp and soggy fries, terribly over-seasoned burgers/fries although we said no salt on ANYTHING, and the bar does not stock sweet and sour mix. Two stars to the friendly staff.

The amazing Amigos Burger is my favorite! Ketchup is spicy and mighty tasty. Bring the entire family!

Don't get turned away by the outside, definitely try it out! The burgers were delicious. Just the right amount of messy, toasted buns, great toppings. Wasn't a fan of the Sonoran hot dog, but I will definitely be back for another burger!

Awesome Char broiled 1/2 pound burgers; theyre nice n juicy and come out med. well unless asked for otherwise. Burgers also come with a toasted butter bun and fries. I tried the southside burger and the steak burger and both were great. Also tried the fried mac n cheese with the jalapeno jack option and they were great. One side of the restaurant was set up with tables and a tv while the other half had a well stocked bar and multiple tvs. The restaurant was very clean and service was good. Will definitely be coming back again!

My family and I came here for the first time after reading good Yelp reviews. The place is a dive. Local, clean, friendly and the burgers are so good! Good reasonable prices and even better the burgers are all the same price no extra costs for toppings etc. We're definetly coming back!

My favorite burger joint in Tuscon or anywhere else in AZ. Real food for hungry people. Delicious crispy fries too! Plus, they tuned in the NYRangers game for us instead of football!

  • Maurice W.

This is a dive bar more than a restaurant. Waitresses are nice and responsive and orders come up quick. The burgers were good but a little to much salt. They have a great military discount. Overall I would say if you are looking to have fun at a good dive bar this is the place.

  • Melissa L.

The food is amazing. The meat was well seasoned and the burgers are cooked on a fire. They have an excellent military discount!!!! We will be back for sure.

A family member found this burger joint as he was driving on Nogales Hwy..he said the smell brought him to stop in. Well, I'm glad he did because tonite I tried it for the 2nd time and it did not disappoint!! the neighborhood is not so great but its worth the food!!..my family REALLY loves this burger place...burger portions are very generous, flame broiled REAL ground beef pattie ( not frozen) very juicy and flavorful..you really must try them..EXCELLENTE

All I can say is Damn! Well that and the fact I had one of the best burgers there. I had the southwest burger which has green chile, pepper jack and chipotle mayo. The burger itself is served on a soft torta roll that is lightly grilled on both sides. The fries were excellent and the ketchup seemed to be homemade with a bit of a kick. Will definitely be back

I was in the mood for chicken wings so I called in here. I would have posted a picture but who wants to see chicken wings that have been eaten? The atmosphere was a little dive bar like, but it seemed nice. Parking was a little weird, but the food and atmosphere will have me come back. Good times had by all, mostly my tummy

Amazing burgers. Seriously amazing. The place seems a tad run down on the outside but inside its clean and bright. The wait staff is friendly but a little slow. The menu is simple and they nail it. The potato skins (just fries served with cheese, bacon and sour cream) are flipping out of this world tasty. The burgers, even the turkey burger, is amazingly flavorful. Well priced too, very well priced. The fries are crisp and well seasoned. As crazy as it is and as excellent as everything else is, the ketchup is out of this world good. I believe its mixed with chipotles and the adobo sauce. Its super balanced. Nice amount of smoke, subtle heat and sweet. This place has my patronage.

It's a major Dive! Food was bland even compared to Famous Sams which is in similar class as this place. They put a lot on the burger but the patty itself taste like cheap chuck...on top of that it's not flavored within. Wings were also bland despite sauce and soggy... crisp the wings and add some flavor... the atmosphere is cheap...tables cheap... drinks were good and the bartender lady was nice and personable... just need some inspiration from the cook. The Truth Be Told

The building isn't much too look at but the Southside burger and Mac and cheese bites were awesome.

  • Cynde G.

Burgers were really good but a bit salty. The quality of meat was A+. Onion rings and spicy ketchup were excellent. I didn't care for the fries but my husband thought they were very good. Nice portion size for $8. If you don't mind eating excellent food in a dive bar atmosphere then this is the place to eat!

  • Ysette H.

I've been here quite a bit. Couple of times in restaurant part but mostly eat in bar section. Usually come about once every two weeks for lunch with my husband. They just have really good burgers. Nothing else needs to be said. My husband loves the spicy ketchup but I don't do spicy. First time here for Sunday night football. Not too crowded. Service is usually pretty good but can be a wait if really really busy.

Pretty solid hole-in-the-wall burger joint. Fresh ingredients, burger cooked to order. Spicy ketchup was a nice touch. Beer selection could be a bit better. A great place to get a fairly quick meal going to or coming from the airport.

Yeah!!! This is the place to go. Great food! Great prices! Great service. I wish we had something like this at home . It would be a dream come true. You need to stop and give this place a try. We got the wings (12 for 9). The south side burger and the amigo burger! The best!!!!!
