We ordered takeout from here while in Sedona on vacation. The service was slow - they told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes and I waited 40. Furthermore, they kept telling me my order was complete but when I counted the items, I determined that they had not given me a soup and sandwich. I have no confidence that they could get an order correct.

This place does one thing, sandwiches, and does them well. Great choice of breads, toppings, and fillings. Outdoor seating overlooking the parking lot was better than you might think. Loved the Yelp discount.

Food: nothing great, no flavor, tasteless, thin bacon, small sandwich, asked for it grilled & it was toasted & dry, very pricey $27 for 2 sandwiches meals.. Service was slow & unorganized

We came here based on the yelp reviews while driving through Sedona and had such a great experience. The employees were so nice and friendly and gave awesome recommendations. The food was delicious and service was fast. We will definitely be coming back on our next visit.

stumbled in by accident after WYATT and i watched a movie across the street (the "girls" were out shopping). kind of ironic actually since i bookmarked WEST SIDE DELI before our trip and messaged the owner about her feedback on a review. i don't usually read those since they tend to be knee-jerk defensive or ooze smarmy in-sincerity, but couldn't help but laugh 'cause i thought her response was spot-on. anyway, the boy was hungry and we stopped in so he could have a ham and cheese sandwich with bacon and avocado on toasted sourdough. the young lady at the register had a surprisingly difficult time figuring out what he wanted but (bottom line) the sandwich came out right and the boy enjoyed it. glad we inadvertently stopped in. life's just full of happy coincidences.

the PERFECT casual lunch stop to re-fuel and continue hiking more trails in Sedona Canyons! it's just a deli but the sandwiches are really good! first you choose your sandwich style, then meat, then bread type ---"mission beach" (avocado, cheddar, & bacon) with smoked turkey on 9 grain bread: loved the nutty bread with sunflower & pumpkin seeds! they've got 2 small tables outside and some indoor seating as well NOTE: there's one TV inside if you need to catch a game

  • Christina S.

Re: previous post and the owners response. The moldy bread was during current ownership. I asked if you have sourdough because you had been out of it the last time I was there. Your purse was not placed in front of the register it was, in fact on a food prep surface. I could point the exact place out to you but your right, why would I return to your restaurant, I WONT! I've only been to west side deli on 4 or 5 occasions during the last 8 months and everytime there are different employees. Go ahead and keep arguing people's reviews like they are inferior people who couldn't possibly have a valid opinion, and it won't be long before your business is gone. Most good business owners would want to make improvements based on reviews. You seem to just get defensive and rude. Good luck with that. Word of mouth in this small town is golden.

For starters, this place is hardly a deli. Rather it is an overpriced Subway at best. In order to set themselves apart from that famous and popular national sandwich franchise, they've reversed the manner in which your order a sandwich - first you choose the "style" you want, then the meat and lastly, the bread, all of which makes no sense at all. Not a hoagie roll in sight! Sliced bread only. At least it's fresh baked on the premises. You can take a loaf home for $8.50! They have a limited number of sandwich meats and combinations that barely approaches deli-ness. Not finding anything of real interest, I ordered a pastrami - "Herman" style which combines Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing which really makes it a "Rueban". My wife ordered their tuna salad which she proclaimed as very good. My sandwich was nothing special if not well under-stuffed - no comparison to the Carnegie Deli in NYC which is piled high with their specially prepared pastrami. Here? No chips. No pickle. No little side of anything. Not even a lettuce leaf garnish for goodness sakes. This was just plain old boring pastrami with melted Swiss and kraut. We also each had a soft drink - me a "boutique" Creme soda and my wife, lemonade in a bottle - the bill?? Are you ready - a whopping $27 and change. Twenty bucks for two sandwiches and five bucks for two drinks plus tax! OUTRAGEOUS! I have ordered far superior sandwiches in sit down restaurants where I can also order a beer and be waited on with some environmental ambiance. Not here. No alcohol. No table service. I don't care if you vacationing in Sedona and you expect to get reamed - they make as good or better sandwiches at Safeway and Basha's for about half the price and you can add chips and a drink for a buck! This was the first and LAST time I will ever go here for a sandwich or anything else they offer on their menu. If you enjoy overpriced under-whelming sandwiches for an out of the ball park price, this place is for you. If not, visit the local Safeway, Basha's or Weber's markets for far superior quality sandwiches at a reasonable price. What I find most mind boggling is the number of decent reviews this places gets and I only read one or two that even mentioned price. There must be a lot of well to do sandwich eaters in Sedona.

I came here over 4th of July weekend and had such an amazing experience! My boyfriend and I were greeted almost immediately upon arrival; very friendly staff!! It was our first time so we weren't sure what we wanted. When I asked how the chicken salad tasted, the woman behind the counter let me sample it because it was made with curry. Uhm SO good!! I chose the Frat House sandwich with their chicken salad on their delicious wrap and it was to die for! My boyfriend got the mission beach sandwich with chicken and he loved it. When we were finished we came back inside to throw everything away, where we were asked how everything tasted. Such a great experience, thank you so much!! Definitely a great lunch spot!!

This sandwich shop was pretty good. You have many options. The plus side to this place was that the sandwiches are really big and filling. The bacon was a brown sugar glaze of some sort... Sooo good! When asked for extra avocado they gave you extra. Lol loved it! It's small inside but can sit 4 at a table. The atmosphere is cool. The menu is a huge chalkboard wall, pretty cool! The only thing I didn't care for was the tomato bisque. I bit salty for my taste, so I couldn't eat it. I would definitely go here again if I'm in town.

They are making sandwiches but you"d think they were painting the ceiling to the Sistine Chapel it took so long. Subway and Jimmy Johns can make their sandwiches in minutes but don't expect that kind of service here. Be patient and don't come too hungry. By the time you get your order, you will be starving. The good part is the sandwiches are delicious and they are huge! My advice is to definitely try this place but only if you are not in a hurry and you have patience. It wasn't really busy and there were four guys behind the counter, all looking befuddled and out-of-sorts. Bottom line is, the sandwiches are so good that we would go back and hope for a little speedier service.

Stopped in for lunch between hiking excursions and we were quite impressed. Service was friendly and food was fantastic. I ordered the Montezuma with roasted chicken on nine grain bread and the hubby ordered the Mission Beach with roasted turkey on nine grain. Absolutely delicious.

Tasty sandwiches. We ordered the Baja melt and it was delish! Awesome n friendly staff.

    (5)
  • Danna T.

We all ordered the Baja melt, each ordered a little differently. They got all 4 sandwiches right on.....and they were delicious. A little pricy, or it would have been 5 stars.

    (4)
  • Eddie N.

The wait was so long. It took over 20 minutes for my sub par Baja Melt. One of my biggest pet peeves is feeling like my sandwich got no love and I felt like my sandwich got no love. I do not recommend this place.

    (1)
  • Kristopher V.

A little pricey, but they make a damn good sandwich that you can split for $10.

    (4)
  • Brandi L.

I ordered the mama mia and after waiting forever, they got the order wrong. It was still good but not great. The sauce is listed as spicy, but was not very flavorful, let alone spicy. They then ran out of 2 breads and turkey while we were there and since it was also taking forever, people were getting pissed. For $24 for 2 sandwiches, 1 side the size of a shot glass and a soda, I'd try somewhere else before I went back.

    (3)
  • Jeanette C.

The sandwiches here are amazing. As my husband said, "The Best He Has Ever Had!' It was awesome getting to talk to Chef Bob, while we were there. I would recommend this place to any and everyone!!!!!

  • Gene M.

Love it! Great sandwiches...especially the toasted ones. The breads are the center of attention, not an afterthought. The make taste you crave!!

    (5)
  • David K.

Very unimpressed... $9 for a sandwich... Literally just a sandwich.. Two pieces of bread with meat and cheese.. $9... There's a Safeway right next door where i can make 5 sandwiches for that price... It was a good sandwich... The cashier was out of it though... Didn't even say hello.. I heard good things about this place... Way to expensive for a sandwich and a rude cashier

    (2)
  • Brittany B.

I had the mission beach style with turkey. The sandwich was pretty good; however, it took forever. Also, the staff gave us a lot of attitude while the owner was out. I realize that this is a small town shop, but 8 sandwiches does not need to shut down the entire place.

    (2)
  • Jimmy B.

Sandwiches made with love. This place is legit. It tastes like a real homemade sandwich. Great ingredients and the flavors blend perfectly. If you want a real sandwich, come here. Ill be back.

The sandwiches here used to be piled high and worth the price. Now with the new owner the sandwich is skimpy with the same high price . The food is tasty but not worth the cost unfortunately.

Food: awesome. This is not your ordinary deli. More of a gastro deli. Service: with a smile! Ambiance: pleasant. Has outdoor seating with pretty tiled tables.

  • Anna A.

Excellent service. The people there really want to meet you. Need to order loaves of bread a day in advance. My favorite notice: "We do not have a freezer. We do not have a microwave".

    (5)
  • Steven L.

The cashier was nice, she explain everything really well. However, I only onder 1 menu and it takes forever. I asked them after 20 or 30 mins and they just start making my sandwich. I am not happy with it.

  • Scott T.

Really great sandwich shop in Sedona. Try any sandwich with the homemade bacon - it's got pepper and maple on it and super yummy! Kids (and for that matter adults) can easily split a sandwich. Portions are huge. Sandwiches took awhile but were worth the wait. Only minor gripe might be the price...but in a tourist town you are gonna pay extra and this place was actually worth the price. Mission Beach is the bomb with turkey / bacon / avocado / etc..

  • Stephen B.

5 stars for the BLT on jalapeño cheddar. I swear I come hear at least twice a week when I'm in town. This place is still one of my favorite sandwich places that I know of. Everything is good especially the way they toast the bread, to me that's what makes this place is the diff selection of breads and the perfect toastiness of them. All in all I'm gonna miss this place when I move out of sedona.

    (5)
  • Skye W.

YUM!!!! Great sandwiches and nice, friendly staff. Dog-friendly patio was appreciated. Glad we stumbled on this place throughout the yelps reviews! I would definitely visit again. Thanks for a great lunch!!

Holy Cow I love this place! Stopped here because of a recommendation from my colleague. Unfortunately, it's in a strip mall type place and very unassuming, so they might not get as much foot traffic as they deserve. The atmosphere in the place is so hip and cool that I expect them to be on the beach in Santa Monica. All I can say is that their soup and sammiches are the best I've had in a long time. Fresh, made quickly and served with a smile. Oh and spicy if you request it! Yum! I hope this place becomes the GO TO place in Sedona for everyone's deli needs because it deserves to succeed in all ways. They offer a high quality product at a decent price in a very cool atmosphere. I will be back, many times.

"What a great sandwich." We both kept repeating this. West Side Deli features a nice creative selection of sandwich builds, with your choice of meat and bread. The sandwiches and their fixings were fresh and delicious, and they really dedicated themselves to crafting an amazing sandwich - something few places do. Their house-made gluten free bread was one of the reasons I initially wanted to try this place, and I was surprised to find that it was was moist - not crumbly. Added bonus, the music they were playing was and awesome classic/80s rock mix and the guys there were cool. Definitely plan to frequent West Side Deli.

Wanted to try something new and went here for lunch. Oh my gosh it is so delicious! It's got a unique spin on classic deli sandwiches. I got the mission beach with turkey and honey-wheat bread. I will definitely go back!

I got a really good sandwich here. Fresh ingredients. The owner was really friendly. She let us in after they had closed. She unlocked the door for us. I will certainly be back.

Very slow, but worse than that when I inquired as to the status I got a very rude reply by the help. The sandwiches were decent, but his response ruined the entire experience. When we got home, of course we were one sandwich short.

I don't comment often but this place deserves it. After our hike out to Devil's bridge we stopped here based on other reviews and it did not disappoint. I had the Herman with turkey - delicious!!

  • Rachael P.

We live in Florida and my boyfriend really wanted a deli sandwich while driving through town. We found the deli and we were impressed with the menu selection on the wall. I thought the whole idea was pretty neat. I ordered a Greek salad wrap. It came out and it was pretty good. However, the owner started yelling at one of the employees pretty loud and in front of the customers. As a guest in the deli it made me pretty uncomfortable, I don't think it's professional at all to yell at your employees in front of customers. It's a shame I really like the place but do to being unprofessional I wouldn't recommend.

Great service and excellent sandwiches. They load them up with meat and veggies. You can build your own. We paid $10.25 for two loaded sandwiches, drinks, and chips. Can't beat that!!

Very yummy, generous-sized sandwiches. Homemade taste! If I lived there, I'd love to try various sandwiches! The owner was super helpful and read the ingredients off on something I wasn't sure of.

Bought sandwiches to take on hike. Wonderful sandwiches - fresh and flavorful. You can tailor them however you want. I went with the West Side style with grilled seasonal vegetables on honey wheat - delicious. But just pick the ingredients and style you like; you can hardly go wrong!

Local place to get a nice, freshly made sandwich. Average price is $8-$9 for a sandwich (chips and drink not included). We decided to try because we had a deal from restaurant.com . The place is set up like a Subway. They have a huge board on the wall with all the sandwiches you can order or you can create your own sandwich. You tell the cashier what you want and she'll tell the guys that prepare your food. You don't have to go through the process of telling your sandwich maker what veggies you want or don't want. Grilled cheese sandwich's $4.99 which I fine kid of expensive for what it is but the sandwiches for the adults were really good. They ran out of bacon and they told me in advance so I could pick another sandwich or keep the same without the bacon, so that was nice of them to let me know. No changer in the ladies room but I always have my portable changer so it's not a big deal but it'd be a great addition since it's a new business.

We visited West Side Deli, as we had a Restaurant.com for them. Other reviews said that pricing was high and that was our initial feeling, too, until we tasted the sandwiches. They use only the freshest ingredients and the sandwiches were very flavorful. I had the Athens (I think that's what it was called) made with pastrami, feta cheese and a garlic aoli. The lettuce, tomato and red onions were fresh and plentiful. What really made us fans was the quality of the meat; they cure their own meats and the pastrami was amazing...it had the brine flavor, but was not overly salty and was totally lean. Now I understand why the prices were higher than other sandwich shops---you get what you pay for! It was so good, we ended up taking out a pound of the pastrami, put it in our cooler to take back to Phoenix. The staff was friendly and helpful. They do create the sandwiches kind of slowly, but this is not a fast food chain! A welcome change!!

Awesome little sandwich shop. Stopped by here after a hike, ordered a couple sandwiches and headed to slide rock park. Great bread, fresh ingredients and friendly quick service. You can order their sandwich specials which all look awesome or create your own. You want sandwich? Eat here!

  • Ryan Sonia B.

Wow... I've had better sandwiches at home with my Tia lupe.Only go to this place if your starving, or looking to get food poisoning. My boyfriend and I came to this place after several positive reviews on yelp... Man... Were we deceived, we ordered the turkey fireball with a side of fruit and potato salad. Huge mistake! The fruit salad had a distinct foul order and the potato salad was gross. The sandwich itself was a puddle of tapatio hot sauce slapped on turkey. Lol

  • J P.

We decided to try West Side Deli while we were in Sedona. We liked the fact that it is not a chain. The sandwiches were great. I especially liked the roast beef on jalapeño cheddar bread - Montezuma style. With all the variety, there was something for everyone in our group. The price was right and the service was great

  • Richard S.

Best sandwich I've had in years! Amazing, moist, fresh gluten free bread. Mission beach with roast chicken is delicious! Each sandwich is made to order by hand, so you may have to wait a few minutes, but it's SO worth it!

  • Birgit T.

Best sandwich ever. If you are in sedona and you happen to be a little bit hungry, you know where to go. Prices are a bit higher but the quality and the amount definitely make up for that.

    (5)
  • John G.

I would never come back to this place, first I understand the price is a little high but for the price you would expect something a little more than finger food . With that being said I ordered the herman which is this places poor take on the Ruben and I got the sandwich and smelled cinnamon , low and behold I tasted cinnamon as well as apples for some unknown reason , considering it should have had meat , sour kraut , and thousand island dressing. So when I said something about it they said there is no way it could smell or taste that way well my coworker smelled it and yep it smelled of exactly what I thought . I had one bite and I was done, but all they wanted to do was make me another sandwich and not my money back, I just wanted to get out of there and never return . So in closing I would say if you want to get ripped off and not even kill the hunger than knock yourself out but if you are like the rest of the red blooded Americans than I would just run from this place and never look back.

  • Robyn H.

I am conflicted about this review... Because the food is very, very good. We had the gluten free bread, which they cut into slices in a separate area from the regular breads. That means a lot! And the bread is delicious. We also had the potato salad and cole slaw, both very very good. I had a chicken breast sandwich with roasted veggies...amazing. Now the issues were... Complete lack of organization from order taking to bringing your food out. They take detailed orders, with your name, but don't adhere to it... Such as not getting what I ordered. However the food is so good you don't care about the LONG wait or that you get something not quite like you ordered. I'd go back again and again.

  • Karen M.

We stopped here based on the reviews on yelp and the yelp deal. The people were super nice but we waited about 45 mins for our food which really cut into out time touring sedona. They also burned our sandwich and had to restart and put it in sourdough instead of wheat. If I had known, we would have gone to subway.

    (3)
  • Olivia D.

An underwhelming experience. We ordered a west side sandwich ($9) and the house salad ($8). The staff was inexperienced and not too friendly. Our food took a good 15 minutes to come out, and there was hardly anyone there at all! The salad came with romaine (chopped way too big) instead of mixed greens, and was none too interesting. The sandwich was good, but the ticket price (close to $9) was rather high for what we got. Later saw a half price deal on yelp if you spend $20 but at any rate the West Side is a no go.

West Side Deli has home made deli meats. Excellent!! Also fresh homemade soups!

Waited 20 minutes for sandwiches, they forgot to make our order. Potato chips were rancid. Place sold to new owner end of June 2014. New owner recognized the problems and gave a coupon for a free sandwich on next visit. Sandwiches were good. Hopefully they'll get things running well.

Very impressed with this little gem. The service is really great. The guys behind the counter actually seem to care about you and the food. Amazing Santa Fe salad - very fresh and green with black bean and corn relish mixed in. They have gluten-free bread which is pretty yummy, and all kinds of unique sandwich choices. There's a check-in offer for a cup of soup to go with your salad or sandwich. Try the chili!

  • Grace D.

Fantastic food. I found it online because they offer gluten free bread. We were greeted with polite service and a lot of great choices for lunch. I had the Mission Beach on gluten free bread. It might be the best gluten free bread I have ever eaten. Perfect for a quick lunch in Sedona.

  • Harry E.

The food here is freshly prepared and the staff is very informative, friendly and helpful. You will be very pleased to deal with them. However, the food was just OK. The artichoke soup wasn't that tasty and it was a little on the sour side. I selected pastrami as the meat in my sandwich and it was so stringy that every time I bit into it, it pulled the meat out, and towards the end, I was left with only bread. Plus, they were a little stingy on the meat. I also wished they had hot sandwiches, instead of only having cold ones. I really wanted to give this place a good rating; but the taste just wasn't outstanding. Maybe they were just having an off day. Sorry to say.

  • Suzette A.

First off... they have Kool-Aid along side the soda machine, I feel like a kid again with red koolaid smile :) The counter service is friendly and more than willing to help you decide from the wide array of choices written on the chalkboard wall. The sandwich fillings are piled up high... these are REAL sandwiches, not just a bunch of bread. This may be the main reason why I didn't order more than one because the fresh baked bread and in house smoked meats were all calling my name. I will reccommend West Side Deli very highly to everyone I know. I had the Frat House with roast beef on Rye bread... it is served with Kettle chips on the sandwich (thank you so much for saving me the extra bag of chips to do it myself!) All the while listening to Lita Ford.... I feel like I just had lunch in my mom's kitchen listening to my walkman. It was awesome!

Well, really it's 4 1/2 stars. I live in Sedona so I have been here several times. Overall, excellent food and service. So many choices and everything is so fresh. Favorites so far: El Carnival: with roast beef on rustic sourdough. This comes with chimichurri, roasted red pepper, lettuce, tomatoe, red onion and provalone cheese. Sweet with a little heat, super yummy! Ask to have it grilled in the pizza oven, extra good! The Montezuma: with turkey and added bacon (yum!) also has chipotle mayo, pepper jack cheese, crunchy tortilla chips and green chile. The thai chicken salad: Super fresh greens, spiced chicken (cubed) cucumber, tomatoe, red onion, carrot ,mint, cilantro and peanuts. What makes it amazing is the dressing of sweet soy, sambal sauce, lime and garlic. Misses: Wrap sandwich. The wrap was cold and sort of doughy, just did not work for me. Toasted bread, just too rough and untoasted can be a little cold and doughy. Go with the pizza oven for the best taste and texture. I have not tried the soup, but hear it is excellent. This is a nice change of pace from Wildflower. Also a great place to get sandwiches to go and take to Red Rock Crossing/Crescent Moon for a picnic.

Usually, I depend on fellow yelpers for their feedback on restaurants. Sadly, the bad reviews on here are a joke because my experience here with the service and my sandwich exceeded my expectations and I am picky. I like friendly people, fresh and good food. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly smile and hello. This place is great because you choose what type of sandwich you want along with type of meat and bread. I ordered the Mission beach with smoked turkey and the jalapeno cheddar bread. Wait time for food was quick and my sandwich looked perfect. There was more than enough turkey and it tasted so good it brought back memories of my grandmother's turkey sandwiches! I only say that because this is one of the few times i've been to a deli where the turkey did not taste like it came out of a plastic container! It tastes fresh and oh so good! Avocado in the sandwich was fresh and that is a rare find with restaurants it seems like. Lettuce, tomato and bacon were perfectly distributed. What I loved almost as much as the turkey was the bread. Incredible flavor and so unique! I will be back the next time I come to Sedona. :)

Stopped in here with my 2 sisters while in Sedona. Great sandwiches! You select the style of sandwich- cheese/sauce/veg and then select meat ad bread type. Did the Mission Beach with Turkey and added the potato salad. Highly recommended.

This place has got it goin on! Their sandwiches are out of this world good and their pasta salad was awesome. The cut up peppercinis put it over the top. And the jalepeno cheddar bread with chunks of cheddar in it...get outta here! My wife and I were visiting sedona just for the weekend and found this gem of a sandwich place right here on yelp. Sure beats the tourist type restaurants that usually serve overpriced, mediocre food. Next time I'm in sedona, I'll be coming back.

Excellent deli. I would recommend anything with their home made bacon. Both times we went last week, the service was a tad slow. It is a bit pricey, but of course it is Sedona. Still recommended.

I needed to quickly find lunch in Sedona so I pulled up the closest place with the highest rating on Yelp. Viola West Side Deli. Maybe I'm biased because we have great little sandwich shops like this all around where I live, but, I found this one lacking in service (so. much. attitude) and the price was just crazy. It was $9 for my sandwich, which was pretty much chicken and thousand island dressing...and the ratio was WAY off. It was like drinking a jar of thousand island. It also took FOREVER to get my lunch and I was the only one who ordered the entire time I was in there. Also, I went to go wash my hands and the toliet was overflowing. So, ya, Yelp let me down on this one.

Great local place, excellent service... we love to get our trail lunches here... I can only eat half a sandwich (which gives me leftovers YAY!).. love that they over deliver... and the sandwiches are AWESOME!

Good sandwiches. Friendly service. Clean bathrooms. Our party ordered the veggie stack on gluten free bread, roast beef fireball on rye, and turkey montezuma on sourdough. All very satisfied. The spicy sandwiches aren't really that spicy and the gluten free bread tasted like a muffin, but flavors were great. Veggie stack came with mushroom, eggplant, beets, tomato, and lettuce - plenty high - and filling.

Unique and yummy sandwich flavors. I liked that you could choose your meat and bread. And they have homemade bacon!! Good price for quality and quantity you get.

Fresh, homemade meats!! you can tell the difference, large sandwiches. pricey, but it's worth it. fresh, generous portion sides. one large room, with sandwich makers working where you can see them. so many choices= many you wouldn't think of, written on a chalk board. cashiers are always friendly, the sandwich makers look rather glum- doesn't bother us tho' we don't go there for smiley faces.

Back from a visit to AZ.. Phoenix/Carefree and a day trip to Sedona. I have determined that Arizona should incorporate a sandwich in its state seal. Yelp guided us to two great sandwich shops on this trip, Each deli had its own uniqueness, and both worth mentioning. During a day trip to Sedona, we found the West Side Deli on Yelp. They have a great concept: First, pick your preparation or "style" as they call it -- various greens, cheeses, veggies, condiments, chips, etc. Second, pick your meat and last your bread. They have a great variety of styles, or you can make your own also. We had the "Frat House" style with roast beef on sourdough and "the ringer" with roasted turkey on cranberry hazelnut bread. A small Sonoren Tomato Bisque with a nice kick from chipotle was a great side. House made deli meats, locally sourced ingredients, fresh bread, super friendly people, a perfect combo for a great meal! A must for any Sedona visit! My review of Bertha's Cafe in Phoenix was the other great sandwich shop in AZ.

Went to Sedona for a day of hiking and escape of the valley's smoldering heat. Planned on stopping at Safeway for a to-go sandwich when I noticed this deli in the same parking lot. Pulled up yelp, read a few reviews and decided to give these guys a try. So glad I did. The sandwich was really really good with top quality ingredients and the people at the counter were friendly and really took pride in their sandwiches. All in all five star experience and I'd go back in a heartbeat.

This sandwich place was much needed in Sedona! After being away for several years it was nice to visit sedona and find a nice chill sandwich spot to eat lunch. Great menu, awesome service, and an all around good vibe. Highly reccomended!

We went to the west side deli right before catching a movie across the street during our mini vacation to Sedona. I was disappointed that I checked in on Yelp after I ordered because you can get a free side just for checking in. Anyways the gentleman working there was super friendly and the service was quick. Our sandwiches were loaded with meat, unlike chain sandwich places. I enjoyed it and would definitely eat at this off the beaten path deli again.

Had a Ringer (Havarti Dill Cheese, lemon-garlic mayo, yellow mustard, fresh spinach) on sourdough bread, with a seasonal vegetable stack. WAY too tasty to be legal. Wow, that was good. Fast, friendly service - not much more to say, other than try it.

Great soups and sandwiches! They roast their own turkey and beef and even make the bacon! So much better than one of the chains. I highly recommend them

My boyfriend and I came here over the weekend while on a getaway trip. This place has some seriously good sandwiches. The guys working there were all super friendly and went out of their way to make sure we liked the food. Also their hours are much more accommodating than most other places around here so that's a huge plus. We came here before hiking and split the Montezuma. We ordered chicken salad, but they gave us chicken. No biggie. In fact, it looked so great we didn't even mention it and we dug in. OMG Sooo good I immediately forgot the error! My mouth was on fire, and the flavor and the crunch of tortilla strips and the spicy mayo were so amazing and after hiking the day in Sedona we were hungry for more. We came back starving and each got our own sandwich to go. My boyfriend got the fireball which was so spicy he could barely finish it (it says that on the menu, but be warned it is VERY spicy). I was also kinda bummed to get back to the hotel and find that my Athena sandwich had no turkey on it. In fact, it had no meat on it at all, yet surprisingly it was still really good! This place is bomb yes, but make sure you check your sandwich before leaving!

Loved this deli! Very creative way to make sandwiches. I had the turkey west side and my husband had the turkey vortex. Both delicious and the tomato bisque was awesome.

They make the best tasting sandwiches of fresh ingredients and innovative spreads. Prices are higher compared to most sandwich shops but the quality warrants the price. Gluten free bread is also available here. I highly recommends this place and only wish quality shops like this exist in southern California.

I heard about West Side Deli after they provided food at the ZGI Shorts Film Festival at the Sedona Center for Arts and Technology (the Sedona campus of Yavapai College) ~ everyone raved about the food. So this week I ventured there for lunch. WOW ~ I was greeted with smiles and although the two men working there were ready to answer any questions, I didn't feel rushed as I read the menu on their very cool blackboard walls. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich on fresh and delicious organic honey oat bread. It included red onion, lettuce and tomato, I added provolone cheese (and next time will add avacado, too, for no additional charge (due to getting 3 items on sandwich of choice) ~ Just as I went to the counter to order, the phone rang. Imagine my surprise and delight when the gentleman asked the caller to hold while he took my order!! I had barely sat down when my sandwich was deliverd to my table. It was huge, tasty, and healthy. Had the temperatures outside been under 100, I would have ordered a cup of one of their tempting soups. The salads looked delightful, and the cooler was filled with old-fashioned sodas ~ Cream Soda, Black Cherry, Fanta Orange...I can hardly wait to go back!
