This is a little hidden gem! Literally hidden in the corner between whole foods and a coffee shop. We actually passed it walking to another eater; we were pleased we stopped! Everything was delicious! We enjoyed the Yucca fries with spicy dipping sauce, Black bean soup and watermelon margarita. The soup was the best, well seasoned and hearty. I had the vegetarian pressed sandwich. The vegetables and bread were fresh and the sandwich was well made (hey, I know it sounds easy, but I've had a few horrible pressed sandwiches). My mom hates anything too soft or creamy, but she absolutely loved the tres leches cake and melon margarita. Other great picks are the Cuban sandwich and tamales (although these are not made in-house, they were still tasty), potatoes with vegetables. They really should consider putting a sign in the driveway, otherwise you folks will continue to miss this place.

Everything about this place is sublime. Indoor seating and a heated patio. The friendliest server who clearly loves her job, eats the food, and is on a mission to spread joy. Now for the food. This chef knows what he's doing. Period. I would eat anything that he prepares, no questions asked. I had some delicious appetizer of pork shoulder, yucca fries, and some other stuff all plated beautifully. This is the kind of dish that you want t have just a touch of everything in each bite because the flavor are amplified as they work together. The watermelon basil water was spectacular as well. To finish things up I had the tres leches and a a Cuban coffee. More perfection on my palate. Every meal for a long time to come is just going to be a disappointment.

Food was solid. Server was ditzy, not familiar with the menu, and disorganized. Seemed like her first job. Since the restaurant is just starting out, this is potentially excusable. The square credit card system has to go. You are left to figure out your bill for 8 people on an awkward iPhone app while the server waits over your shoulder for your credit card. An itemized receipt is not emailed to you; only the total amount is. We specifically declined extra tip with the waiter present since a mandatory 20%(!!) tip was included in the bill. When we got home and realized the total didn't make sense, we called in. A 44% tip had been applied to the bill! Rather than an apology and an instant fix, we were given excuses and asked if we were sure we wanted to remove the extra tip (we were quite sure). It took multiple calls to correct. Bummer.

Not impressed Food was really bland. Had to salt it twice. The good thing was they had awesome Salsa music which I love and appreciated. And also the service was great frombout waitress. Sad the food was a let down. My husband's food was also bland and we was not happy.

Food was okay - the ceviche leaves much to be desired, the risotto was good but had a lot garlic. My boyfriend had the special - very good lamb shops but skimpy (2 mini chops). The service is awful - they need more staff. There clearly was no bus boy so the poor hostess had to handle everything. It took a few minutes to be seated (no biggie) but we had to wait for 10 minutes for our menus when another couple seated at the same time already received their drinks. We received our appetizer... no utensils were provided and so on. It has potential, minor fixes here and there will improve the overall experience.

Stay away! 1 star only because Yelp doesn't allow a 0 star rating. Guacamole tastes like it is processed/bagged avocado with added tomato and onion. Ordered cubano sandwich -pork was mostly fat and the part that was actually pork meat was tough, no flavor. I returned it even though I was starving from my hike. I lost my appetite so did not re-order anything after tasting the bland taste of my husbands plate (4 small tacos which came out to $15 and also not very good). Would never come back.

Great place! Super friendly service, delicious food, and amazing decor. Definitely give them a shot. New place, but the chef is from the 4 Seasons and you can tell.

The Restaurant is so dark at night that we had to use flashlights to read the menu. At bill paying time they use Square and can't provide a charge card receipt. They give only have written checks. Also, their square is programmed for 15%, 20, and 25% tip or no tip making it impossible go give the wait staff a custom tip anywhere in between. When asked to see a manager, no one was there only the wait staff. Our guess is this place won't last unless they fix these things. By the way, the management owes our waitress 22% of the bill. Please take care of Kiara since you can't with your system. Response to Owner Comment: You are missing the point of the review/feedback. First, the darkness issue was not addressed. Of the 5 people we had at the dinner (most middle aged), all agreed that it was hard to read the menu with the current lighting. We had to use a flashlight app on the Iphone to be able to read the menu. Directional lighting would definitely help the dining experience. Having the staff recognize that customers are having trouble reading the menu by seeing customers use a flashlight app shows that your team is not paying attention. Think about increasing the lighting or providing directional lighting for each table or perhaps multiple candles, something that solves the problem vs. ignoring the problem. On your feedback that we are trying to get out of providing a tip, remember tipping is not because it's required but we choose to provide it based on the quality of the service, the quality of the meal and the quality of the experience. Providing feedback disputing the facts we observed about the tip fixed amounts simply tells is that you are not serious at listening to your customers. Why wouldn't you respond with "great idea, we can make the tip so you can enter any amount you like." Third, we asked for a charge card receipt, which we were told was coming, but what was delivered was not a charge card receipt but was a hand written receipt. It makes it hard to know what was put on the card, hard to use this for reimbursement via a business, and always creates a potential problem of what was charged vs what was written by hand. On your point, what about the food, the food was good, but it's the atmosphere which makes a restaurant in addition to the food. The net is, respond with how you could improve vs. trying to prove you may or may not be right. Most customers who read reviews that are poor and see a response about how an owner is focused on learning and trying to improve are willing to give the restaurant another chance. Always take feedback as positive and how you can improve, that's the mark of a great restaurant.

My favorite restaurant in Sedona. Food prepared with care and the service was great. Carnitas tacos were the best I've ever had!

The first lunch I had was the Lomo Saltado, which I ordered on recommendation of the server. It was unbelievably delicious. A couple weeks later I went back and had the Cubano. The best Cuban sandwich I've ever had, anywhere.

Pleasantly surprised. As locals we had not been back here for a bit but the new Latin menu was inviting. We both had the Cuban sandwiches and they were done just right. My dining partner for lunch had the black bean soup and it is a slow cooked version and not too spicy which was great. The waitress said the tres leche cake was fabulous and I was skeptical but I must say it was-not too moist and with a small layer of chocolate. We tried the watermelon/basil fresh fruit drink and while it sounded refreshing, it mostly tasted of basil and was brown colored-more a savory than sweet taste to it. We were impressed with the selection of alcoholic drinks although we did not try any on this visit. The only criticisms I would have is that the tables for two are small and it is an open kitchen concept which begs for the chef to appear more friendly and have more interaction with the guests which I did not observe that day even though there were few people in the dining area (there is also and outdoor seating area).

I would have loved to give this place a higher mark.... we walked in and it smelled amazing, but unfortunately our experience left us rethinking the more than $100 we spent. I have to first say that I was a waitress for 10 years so I know the restaurant business and have a very hard time leaving less than 20% let alone a bad review, but I hope what I have to say does not deter people from this small business, rather offers Pura Vida some constructive criticism to grow from and improve into a successful option for good food in Sedona. We went there wanting to enjoy some well made food mad with conscience ingredients and from their menu thought this would be perfect. The food really did taste great but.... the quinoa salad should have quinoa in it, and more than one spoonful and this happened to the table next to us that night too. Instead of kindly correcting their mistake, a clearly bratty chef plotted a spoonful over our salad that we asked to get fixed and sent the embarrassed waitress back to serve it to us. Disappointing. We told the waitress we wanted to share 4 or 5 appetizers between all of us (four of us) and they recommended the Sea Scallops and while it was delicious, it was one scallop for FOUR people.... bad recommendation for that circumstance. The service was slow, the chicken was dry, and the portions for the price are small. We left disappointed and stopped for a piece of pizza on the way home since we were all still VERY hungry. I will say again, that the food was tasty and their Horchata is amazing on a hot desert day, but- sea scallopS on your menu implies more than one, if someone kindly sends something back, fix the mistake kindly- don't send your poor server back to a customer with a piss-poor effort from the kitchen, hire enough people to handle the crowd you have, and increase your portions or drop your price point. Thank you. And I also agree that the whole four-square system of paying is a bad investment for you. If there is a way out of that, I would recommend it. Customary tips are 15% for mediocre service, 18% for a great job and 20% for above and beyond expectations all around. And I was a server, not a cheap person who hates tipping. But putting 15, 20 and 25% as your options left a bad taste in my mouth and I love tipping well. I would imagine that more people leave 15% out of frustration. So if you want your servers to make more, either increase their pay from you as the owner, or leave customary and respectful options for the customer to choose from.

We ate here on a vacation to Sedona right after Christmas. They had only been open a few weeks. The food is amazing both in taste and presentation. The Chilean Sea Bass is well worth the price, and we enjoyed amazing coffee and dessert as well. Friendly, knowledgeable staff tops it off. It's a little hard to find, but be sure you do!

Good Latin American food. Very friendly. A great addition to dining in Sedona. Try the rum horchata.
