This was the best north Indian food we had. Try the buffet, and the desert is to die for. Try the rice kheer.

Had a vegetarian rice dish, medium spice- scrumptious, and a generous portion. Service was phenomenal, and prices were reasonable, esp for this town. I'll be back!

We just had a terrific dinner at Cuisine of India. Delicious curries and tandoori.Staff was excellent, especially kind to our 10month old baby. Prices for diners and all dishes were extremely reasonable. I wish they could move to Hawaii!

My wife and I had dinner, not the buffet (I find buffets to be generally mediocre and seasoned for Midwesterners). Staff was friendly and professional. Each Indian chef has his own curry formulae, and we liked this one a lot. "Medium" was not as hot as i expected, so don't be timid. We enjoyed this place and would go again.

This may just be the blandest Indian food in the world. I love good Indian food, but this place, it just had no flavor or taste what-so-ever. Everything seemed fresh, properly prepared, etc., but my God, was it tasteless. If you like Indian food, go elsewhere, you'll only be disappointed here.

before i forget, drive to the address. the YELP app will get you lost ***** STOP RACIAL PROFILING ***** i get it : the wife's a redhead and the kids are both blondes. the whole, damn family's got blue eyes. okay, so we're HITLER's wet dream but we can handle the heat. look, i read lots of reviews. i see people whine 'cause they asked for spicy and got spicy and wanted refunds. it's a tricky problem. but why bother asking how spicy we wanted dinner if you're going to ignore the answer ?? ***** STOP RACIAL PROFILING ***** munched on PAPADUM (crispy, lentil crackers) which we drizzled with a sweet, TAMARIND CHUTNEY while the server took our orders. we started with VEGETABLE SAMOSAS (flakey, fried pastries filled with mildly spiced peas and potatoes) and a CILANTRO CHUTNEY. the SAMOSAS were beyond excellent -- maybe the best we've ever had and i've eaten quite a few. my MADRASI LAMB (coconut milk curries are my KRYPTONITE) was good. the meat was a little grainy and would have preferred the curry was medium as ordered but definitely better than A-OKAY. JULIANA, my eleven-year old, aforementioned blonde daughter, had the CHICKEN CURRY. she loves pretty much any kind of CURRY and is good with 6's at THAI restaurant (real 6's where your lips are still burning on the drive home) so could certainly handle medium at an INDIAN place. she could have handled INDIAN PALACE's medium if we ground her CHICKEN CURRY in a food mill while she was still in a highchair and eating off rubber spoons. but, the spice level aside, her dinner was very good. the wife unit's SHRIMP KORMA, ordered mild, was no less spicy that the other two entrees ordered medium. hard to go down from a 1. the flavor was there but the shrimp were a bit rubbery. the VEGETABLE BIRYANI (basmati with nuts, peas and cilantro leaves) was excellent with no dry, crispy bites like you get when the dish is made from rice that's been sitting around uncovered for too long. the GARLIC NAAN might also have been the best i've ever had. i like that if it was brushed with GHEE (clarified butter) it was done with a light touch and didn't feel all greasy. the bread was thin and crispy. too often NAANs (mine included) come out clunky. we're back in CARLSBAD and i'm craving INDIAN. INDIA PALACE was close but left me wanting more. that's a good sign. maybe this time i can get it spicy.

Came to Sedona for a few days with family and ended up here for dinner on our way out of the city. Walking in, we were kind of skeptical, but got seated. After perusing their menu, my cousin and I ordered the mango lassi which was very tasty. It wasn't too sweet, which was perfect to my liking. Everything that we ordered was amazing. It wasn't too oily, wasn't too spicy, and had great flavor. The bhindi masala, paneer masala, daal maharani, chana masala, and vegetable pakore were a sample of the many items we ordered, and were some of my favorites. The service was great, and the decor was nice. The restaurant features ceiling to floor murals of different cultural references to India. My favorite was the Lakshmi painting and the Radha-Krishna painting. My only con was the water refilling. I feel like that's a very important standard service, which should not have to be asked for. Overall though, myself as well as the rest of my family had a positive and lovely experience. The pricing is very reasonable as well, which was a huge plus for the amount and quality of food we got!

Food is great! Also a great deal for a delicious buffet at 10 bucks. The service was a bit mediocre but other than that, i cant complain.

Stopped in a few weeks ago for the lunch buffet and was disappointed...again. Between employees conducting a pre-interview with an illegal alien and his handler in conjunction with the sub-par service and taste of the food, doubt we'll be coming back here again. Such a shame...not sure what happened to this place.

Since current owners took over the food is consistent good quality and excellent variety of meat and vegetarian options. Mid day buffet offers an excellent choice for lunch at very reasonable price.

I am a local and a regular. The quality here has gone downhill in the last few months - new owner, new chef - seems like they are cutting corners. This used to be my favorite restaurant in the Verde Valley - last 2 visits were very disappointing. I will not be back until I hear the quality and the taste has improved.

First thing, they have to please update google map the correct address. It was super confusing to search this place. Now food. Tried onion kulcha, dal makhini. Kulcha was good. Makhini was having no salt. Dont know why. Served the food some time lately too. Pakados were good. Not bad kind of place.

Best Indian Food! I live in Phoenix and eat Indian Food frequently. I'm vegan and I always get the same things Baighan Bartha and Veggie Samosas. This place has the best recipe for both that I have ever tasted- and I eat a lot of Indian food! Still trying figure out what they did to make it taste so good here! I have been craving their recipe since I was there last week. I will be back soon for more. If the rest of their dishes are as good as these were, you need to eat here for sure! Yum!

I'm from L.A. and used to a different kind of cuisine, especially Indian food, I know such amazing restaurants out there, but still this is not an excuse to serve below average food. Indian food needs to have fresh ingredients, aromatic and savory flavors and this place just wasn't doing it - from the naan to the tandoori and vegetarian dinner combos, overall it was not that great, I didn't get the Indian fix I was looking for. The service was good though and there was a pleasant atmosphere, they just need to step up their game. Oh and upon further thought I asked if it was possible to switch a naan for a salad the waiter said, " no we cannot the owner is a "little crazy, so he will not allow this", like, really?

We were excited after finding an Indian restaurant in Sedona but I must say it was not upto the mark. First we wanted to seat at some other table but was refused by the staff. There were couple of tables lying empty but we were made to seat in front of restroom. The food was not good and was not worth it. Overall everything was gross. Also they have drawing of Goddess Laxmi beside a table and were serving chicken on that table and keeping the food below Goddess's feet. This is really bad that you are disrespecting God. I won't visit this place again.

  • Xavier G.

Worst Indian restaurant experience I have had. The food was mediocre. The hostess/waitress (who spoke little english and didnt seem to care about anything) tried to seat us in front of a box fan, even though the place was near empty. I was mislead several times about what I ordered. They also overcharged me. I will never go back. I know it is hard to believe an Indian Restaurant could be so bad, but believe me, dont waste your time.

We stumbled into this place after we found out the other place we wanted to go to got turned into a whole foods. Food: They have a nice lunch buffet for only ten dollars and their stuff on the menu is very flavorful. You can tell the food is fresh by the brightly colored dishes. I've had many chicken tikka masala in my day and I'll have to say they've managed to keep their chicken really juicy and tender. Very perfectly cooked. Service: The wait staff is extremely attentive and came around several times to ask if we wanted more naan or anything. Our water glasses never went lower than half empty and this is when their dining area is half seated. I think that's pretty good for only two guys walking around and checking on people. All in all excellent. I would highly recommend to anyone that likes Indian food and is looking for a good option in this city.

5 stars for the food, 3 for the service. The people were nice enough, but slow, slow, slow. The food was fantastic. I had the matar paneer and it was as good as I've ever had. Hubby had the mahi-mahi vindaloo and loved it. Excellent naans, and the pulao rice was delish too. So glad we found this place, and the Mexican yesterday, after an awful start our first night here. We'll be coming back to Sedona and eating here again.

The food was decent but the problem we had was with the staff. A member of our group is severely allergic to nuts and when we asked them what had nuts and what didn't it was impossible to get a straight answer. On top of that, at the end of both visits, they double charged our tip. Because the receipt isn't exactly itemized, it's difficult to tell whether or not the tip was included. When asked, they once again gave an odd answer, and it was difficult to tell. The second time we went it was during the lunch buffer, where we obviously serve ourselves, yet they still included a 15% gratuity. So just be weary about this issue. Food on the other hand was decent and I would recommend getting the chicken tiki masala.

I didn't realize that everything has tomatoes in it, bit this place was highly recommended. Just know that medium spice is very very hot so all for a little. Also, they were willing to cook me something without any tomatoes.

Us being the only indian patrons, the service was very indifferent and cold towards us, a bit warm towards non indian patrons. No smile not friendliness from any of the employees. We were not served papad till they served them to 4 other tables that came after us. Didn't serve us tamarind chutney with papad. 3 different people came around at different times not knowing anything about our order. Brought appetizers second time without order that was supposed to be for a different table. Served naan 30 mins before the extremely salty and inedible vegetable korma.

The rise and fall of the Sedona indian restaurant..... We have a choice of 2 really good, clean healthy indian choices in Flagstaff it reminds me how the sedona restaurant used to be. The food got kinda oily and I felt a bit queezy last two times I was in.

    (2)
  • Sandhya M.

The service was not that good. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly but the food took a lot of time to come. It seemed like they made the food right there on the spot. When we finally did get our food we were surprised by how good it was. The food had a lot of flavor and we would give the place 5 stars if it wasn't for the service.

Been here many times. The lunch buffet is great and a good price at about $10 a person. The garlic naan is really excellent and they serve plenty of it to you during the buffet hours. We have also been here for dinner and it was great as well.

After a long hike we thoroughly enjoyed all the vegetarian dishes in the lunch buffet. We eat a lot of Indian food and rate Cuisine of India highly.

Excellent food!! We asked the servers to give us something different than the usual tikka masala. We ended having the chicken tikka and Pulao Rice... Which were amazing. Service is pleasant and responsive. Prices were GREAT!! My fiancé and I shared one entree with an order of rice and naan, both of us were full food altogether came out to less than $20, we are definitely coming back.

Been living in Sedona for just over a year and this is probably my 3 or 4th time eating here. I'll have to say the last time I was here the food was better. Maybe a diff cook. When you sit down for dinner they start you off with those Indian thin crispy crackers which I love along with the green sauce and that tamarind red sauce. Next we ordered lamb vindaloo and saag paneer. It was all pretty good. The lamb needed to be cooked a little longer but other than that the taste was fine. The saag paneer was good nothing really special. I've had better in la at samosa house. All in all I had I good Indian food experience. Nothing to write home about but enough to write on yelp.

As a vegetarian who loves Indian food I was disappointed. I went to a Sunday buffet and not only was I surprised at the few choices but none of the items were labeled and it was pretty tough to figure out which items were vegetarian. Not to mention our waiter didn't seem to speak English so I was unable to get clarification on the buffet. I ended up paying a fortune for rice and one thing from buffet, which ended up having a stray piece of chicken in it :( However, my friend's experience was better as he eats meat and he enjoyed all the items.

We loved.the food and the service was great. We will go back when in Sedona.

  • Charity K.

The food was excellent but the service needed some help. We never received our last order of Naan and they charge gratuity on groups of 4 or more. Very unusual and disappointing especially since I felt the service was more at a 10% gratuity level. However with that said the food definitely made up for it. We ordered Shrimp Vindaloo, Mango Chicken, Shish kabob, and Lamb.

I was initially apprehensive going to an Indian restaurant in Sedona, especially since looking at the options it doesnt seem to have much competition. But i was pleasantly surprised. Took the parents here for a lunch buffet and it passed their test overall. I wouldnt say every dish was stellar but positive shout outs to the saag paneer, chole, naan, fish pakora and aloo sabzi. The dessert was also very good esp the mango pudding. If indian food makes you happy and sedona makes you happy, this is a good combination.

I'm an Indian food snob. When my sister wanted to eat Indian in Sedona, I was prepared to feel even snottier. I was proved wrong, however. The lunch buffet is great! It's priced perfectly and has enough to satisfy both the vegetarian and non veg eaters. The garlic naan is easily one of the best I've had (and I've had a lot of it). They also happily made my carb/oil conscious sister a fresh roti without any extra charge. The chicken tikka was also great. The food was overall made pretty mild, but there was ample hot sauce and hot pickles to satisfy my heat loving palate.

The paintings on the wall are beautiful to look at. Giving the place a cozy feel. Dinner was delicious, though some things were a little over cooked. The spices and taste of the food were great! Though the mashed potatoe stuffed naan was my least favorite. I love that stuff but would not order it here again. Some of you may love it though! So still give it a try, if it is something you like to order. We ordered mango lassi's which I usually love too. These were ok. Not as thick as others and a little skimpy on the amount (due to the size of the glass). Sometimes I can hardly finish one. I could have drank 2-3 of these since they were so liquidy. They are very on you as far as service (3 people were helping us at once), so if you like to chill more when eating, you may want to say something. Maybe they are used to people being in a rush though? I'm not sure. In that case, if you are in a rush, you'd love it! One waitress came over and asked if we wanted something cleared, we said no, leave it, and she still walked away with it. lol. They dropped the check before we were even done eating, which kind of turned us off from ordering dessert...so we didn't. I'll give them credit for being attentive though (it's always better than feeling neglected in a restaurant), it just felt like they were rushing us out. Which I would not understand why since there was a huge party eating next to us, so it definitely was not closing time. I'd go back to eat here (unless I find something better in town) and would probably just say something politely next time about not coming over as much, esp when we are just 2 people on a 4 top table. I appreciate the service, it was just a little too much, and too rushed. We can push dishes aside if need be. Better than our convo being interrupted, what felt like every 5 minutes. Def worth giving this place a try though. The food was good.

Excellent curry place! Little pricy but the food here is very tasty. Generous amounts of food. We recently moved to Sedona and we used to eat curry back in Sydney all the time. It's not hard to find a good Indian food over here. To be able to eat such a good quality and traditional Indian food in Sedona is amazing. Good service, everyone here is very nice. Food is just delicious! It's not all spicy and you can always ask them how mild or spicy you'd like your food to be. Love this place! Must try!

  • Lekha T.

Having grown up with Indian food, I must say that this is a lame excuse for Indian food The service was horrible , Bhindi Masala had okra that was not tender as okra should be, it was fibrous and not flavorful Shish Kebab was full of onion and red food coloring The Kashmiri nan was burnt, we had to get up and get our own water ! This place sucks

  • Mark H.

This place is definitely A-OK. No complaints about the service which was prompt. The restaurant was not very busy. We went there 30 minutes before closing. We started out with a salad which was mainly iceberg lettuce with some cucumbers, carrots and green peppers. The salad dressing was great. I had lamb with coconut creme sauce and my wife had the mahi-mahi with spinach. Both were very flavorful and satisfying. I wasn't positive that my lamb was actually lamb but it was still good. This was pretty good Indian food but I have had better in Phoenix. If you like Indian food then this place is worth a try.

Excellent Indian buffet in Sedona. Wow. There needs to be more variety of restaurants like this one in Sedona!! The zucchini dish (don't know the name) was spicy and flavorful. The garlic naan was crispy. The curries (goat and beef) were fab. Several veggie options. I eat at a lot of Indian buffets in CA and this was cheaper & just as delish, if not more. $11 per person.

This is the best Indian Restaurant I ever been...considering that I am originally from South America, lived in Europe and am currently in the U.S. - Need I say more? The food was AMAZING, TO DIE FOR...I have to go back to Sedona just to eat there again ~ Marcia

I just had the buffet lunch, which has changed under the new owners. The mushroom dish was new to me-- and truly delicious. The daal, on the other had was bland and tasteless. The saag panir was so so. A mixed bag.

After a long afternoon of hiking Thunder Mountain Trail, Indian buffet food sounded so good. I had previously been here for dinner service and was pleased with the quality, and my boyfriend who is gluten intolerant didn't have any problems. So we went back to try the buffet for lunch. The Tandoori chicken is always a favorite and didn't disappoint. They also had a very tasty and tender lamb sauce dish, chicken tikka, garbanzo bean curry, dal makani (yum!), and potato curry, I tried a little of each. For $10/person it was an excellent deal especially in Sedona. Also being able to serve yourself, it was easy in an out so we could continue on our ATV adventure following lunch! Note: They are closed between 2:30pm-5pm to pack up the buffet and prepare for dinner service.

  • Tara K.

Ate the lunch buffet. I didn't like the food. The nan was the only thing I enjoyed! The place was not very clean either. I guess it's nice to have an indian restaurant in Sedona- but I wouldn't go back....

  • John Z.

(Vegetarian) food has always been very good, and the portions are generous. Service has always been a little bit off. Sometimes slow, sometimes disorganized, but then sometimes fast, and it can alternate during the same sitting. No reason to avoid, no reason to walk 30 miles through a sandstorm either.

    (3)
  • Maybe Milan B.

Had the lunch buffet. It was okay. The value is so-so and the food is alright. It was a great refuge, however, during one of Sedona's patented summer monsoon downpours, so yay.

We were visiting Sedona for the day and decided to eat here for lunch. It was an hour from closing time and we could feel the staff trying to rush us. They were not very welcoming and the service wasn't great. The food was mediocre. It was a bit salty for my taste. I don't think I'll be returning next time I'm visiting Sedona.

I just love the fact that they will charge you $10 for wasting food. We Americans love to waste.

According to my daughter, this is the smallest buffet at which she's ever eaten. That's not necessarily true for me, but with ten or so offerings, including rice, it would definitely not win any prizes for size. Then again, it also doesn't seem to be very popular, at least for lunch, so few offerings hopefully mean the food is fresher. As far as Indian food goes, this buffet was pretty average. I liked the mushroom korma, but the chicken tikka masala was underseasoned (even though it was a bit spicy). The same can be said for the chicken tandoori, it didn't taste as if they'd use any spices on it other than pepper. The lamb curry was OK, though the lamb was a bit dry and tough. The rice was a bit too starchy for my taste, but the garlic/herbed naan bread, served pipping hot, was quite good. Sweet lassis also lacked flavor. My biggest problem with the meal was the price. We ended up paying $42 before the tip for 3 people. That's pretty ridiculous for a buffet lunch. Now, my husband didn't look at the bill carefully so perhaps they charged us for our other daughter who didn't eat any of the food (which they knew, as she instead had a subway sandwich at the table). Service was OK.

New management or ownership has destroyed this restaurant! This USED to be a consistent good meal, with a solid buffet filled with basic Indian fare that was generally well-seasoned with excellent customer service. NOW? Not only is the food on the buffet lukewarm (at best), the rice was overcooked, the flavors were bland, AND to add to an even more miserable dining experience, the service was terrible! This place was busy on a Sunday afternoon when I took three teens for the lunch buffet. It took 25 minutes after we were seated to receive naan, which we requested no less than THREE times. I watched as two tables that were seated after us received fresh naan from the kitchen. What was even MORE offensive, is that I watched as the owner/manager went to each table and asked about the quality of their meal, but purposefully avoided our table. I should mention that we were the only non-white guests in the restaurant. I'm not entirely sure if that was merely a coincidence. I do know we didn't get a thank you for coming and spending $60 on a terrible lunch from the owner/manager. I will NEVER return to this restaurant and I hope that locals and tourists avoid it if they would like a hot, flavorful or pleasant meal.

  • Lloy W.

What an awful experience. Ordered a nice-sounding vegetarian dinner combo, was told I could not choose my vegetable curries, even though the menu description seemed to indicate that you could. I ordered my food very hot. Not only were the curries cold, but had NO spice. Tasted bland. How often do you taste bland East Indian food? My husband's meal came well before mine. No one asked us how our meal was until it was time to pay. We were supposed to get dessert included but none was offered. We had had enough anyway. Avoid this restaurant if you want to enjoy your meal.

We found the reason why no customers there at 08:00pm. Waitress was just fooling around with guys there, no attention for customers. Curry was kinda tasteless, and totally food was not fresh at all. We never come back. Better try something else in Sedona.

  • James P.

I found this Indian restaurant to be a 2-star at best. The buffet selection was average, making it slightly overpriced for the quality of food. The decor was nice, full wall murals throughout. For any Indian Restaurant buffet you would expect to have at minimum a serving if good tasting curry chicken, which wasn't the case. The nan was slightly burnt. The waitress wasn't especially friendly or attentive. Didn't even bother to provide the customary "thank you" as my wife and I walked across the mostly empty restaurant to the exit, while standing at the cashier station only a couple of feet away. We gave it a try, but don't see any reason to try again.

I was looking for a new place to eat in Sedona. I remember seeing an Indian restaurant next to Dominos so I decided to go try for lunch. They had a great buffet! Many choices and variety to choose from. This was pretty much the ONLY indian buffet where I didn't get to try everything because there were soo many choices. I never had Yogurt/Masala and it was darn good! The tandori chicken was prepared differently than I ever had and it was soo moist! I was surprised to see soup. I tried both and liked them both. I couldn't stop eating and all I could think about is wish they would replicate one in southern california. The vindaloo was perfectly made and had a heaping amounts of lamb. The Garlic Naan was also delicious! Service was awesome as our plates were always cleared before returning with a new plate and water was always filled. Bobby, one of the employees (well dressed.. maybe the owner??) was always welcoming everyone he saw coming in. Also very welcoming on our exiting out. Again... friendly people a great & clean place to eat.... lots of variety to choose from. I will be back! BTW.. I thought the buffet was going to be $15+ but it was less than $10!! Amazing!

Food and service is amazing. One should go here for delicious Indian food and the drive to the hotel is amazing especially if going for dinner..clear sky ..sky gazing can be done after dinner. Loved the Russian waiter who was serving Chai, he was very charming and helpful.

4 stars for the 7 days a week lunch buffet. 3 stars for dinner. I almost always come for the lunch buffet, but one evening decided for dinner. I got the non-vegetarian dinner which came with lots of little dishes which were pretty good. Everything was good except for the tandoori chicken. It had obviously been sitting around awhile and was dried out and bland. Other than that, the dinner was a nice replacement for the buffet, as it included a little dessert and coffee to top it all off.

As far as lunch buffets, it's pretty darn good. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The gulab is a sweet desert with fruit cocktail.

The boyfriend and I went to Sedona this past weekend, and ended up eating lunch here two days in a row. Their buffet is awesome; the items change daily so we were delighted to see some new things the following day. Their chicken tikka masala is great. Their garlic naan- delicious. For $8.95, this all-you-can-eat buffet is definitely worth it. Aside from Tandoori Times in Scottsdale, this place is a go to for Indian food. Yes, the buffet items lack spice but that is because not everyone wants to burn their mouth like I do, so I understood. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and vowed to return every time we make it up to Sedona.

Matar paneer - Good Aloo ghobi - Good Butter chicken - Vey good Lamb vindaloo - Good Garlic naan - Very good Kemma naan - Good Ice cream - Very good Mango lasi - Good I am only giving two stars because even though I called the same day to ask at what time they'll close (for which they said 9:30pm), and the menu says they close at 10pm, they were rushing us to get out at 9pm and there were still two other tables in the restaurant.

After all the reviews, I thought this place would be good. It wasn't even close. Despite the nice ambiance, and the belly dancer, dinner was mediocre at best. First of all, we never had a dedicated server. Four different people came to us at different times, and none of them knew anything about our order. The menu itself wasn't written well. For the non vegetarian meal, it didn't say anything as to what type of curry you would get, so it left the assumption that the customer would get to choose. WRONG! They give you what they give you. That should be stated in the menu. Also, you have to order rice separately. I'm not a fan of that. All curries should be served with rice. I don't care what Indian restaurant you are, don't be cheap on rice. The food took forever to come and the service was bad. I had to ask three times for tamarind chutney. Also, the papadum that they serve is waaay too hot for the average customer. The food was bland. The chicken curry was more like chicken in tomato sauce. The daal was eh, the raita had gone bad. The only thing good was the matar paneer. Which tells me, that if you order a la carte, then you'll get good food. Dessert was supposed to come with our meal, we had to ask for it, instead of them bringing it out. But because I guess someone realized we weren't getting good service, we ended up getting two desserts and two chais on the house. All I can say is, invest on servers who know the cuisine, are dedicated to certain tables, and who know how to serve. On a Friday night too. I would not come back here again.

Good Food! Bad Service! After being seated and given water, we waited 15 minutes (noting that the ONE WAITER was very busy) to finally ask for menus ourselves. We were there for 30 minutes before our order was taken, our entrees came out, had to wait an additional 10 minutes with the food getting cold for the rice to be brought out, and the naan wasn't brought out until we were practically finished eating. If you have a lot of patience and don't have plans for after dinner, you will enjoy a good meal here.

Ok Indian but they have nothing for kids or picky adults...they won't even grill the child a plain piece of chicken :(

Very arrogant service especially to Indians. It is a well known fact that a good experience in a restaurant has a lot to do with service more than the actual food. When treated badly, the manager, was unable to accept the feedback. Makes you feel was it really worth going through this pain to have average indian food.

We were looking for an Indian restaurant in Sedona for dinner and I guess this was the only one. The reviews were good so we decided to try it. The food was strictly okay but the service was horrible. When we asked for more papad, the waiter actually brought us broken leftover pieces and told us that they couldn't roast more as the chefs were lazy!! The mixed tandoori platter was bad and it seemed like they reheated whatever was left from earlier that day. The roti's came out really cold. Being an Indian myself I would never come back to this place again. I think that since they have no competition in Sedona from other Indian restaurants, they don't have the motivation to improve.

Had the non-vegetarian dinner and the lamb saag. I shared both meals with my wife. We both had our fill and still had leftovers. It was a great meal with a very pleasant atmosphere and really good service.

After reading the recent negative reviews, I was hesitant to try this restaurant. But my daughter was jonesing for Indian food while we were vacationing in Sedona and the hotel recommended it, so I decided to take a chance. It turned out to be excellent. We ordered our usuals (Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tikka Masala, Naan bread) and all were very tasty. The chicken was good quality white meat, and there were tons of the onions and peppers in both dishes. We don't like our food very spicy so I stressed to do it very mild and it came out perfect, which is very hard to get right on the first try. The sauce was delicious. It was just a tiny notch below my absolute favorite Indian restaurants in terms of taste, but that all depends on the recipe. My daughter had three servings and is looking forward to left overs today! As for service, it got very crowded after we'd been seated and our order taken (which happened very quickly). The food came out promptly. It did take some time to get the bill but by that time virtually every table was filled and only 3 guys were serving. I suspect our service would've been slower had we come in a bit later, but still not that bad. It's a little pricier than our usual spots, but mainly because they charge for rice, which added $6 to the bill for 2 orders. But all in all definitely worth it and will be one of our new favorites when we come back to Sedona. (Oh and they had our favorite Indian beer--Flying Horse, which you can't find in every Indian restaurant.) One final note. For some reason, this restaurant is listed as two restaurants on Yelp (the other one called Cuisine of India) so check that out for another 40 reviews that balance some of the negative ones here.

Disappointing after reading the reviews. We arrived at 1:45. Lunch buffet is until 2:30 so should have still been kept fresh and full but a lot of it looked old and almost empty. It was busy also. At least 6-8 groups came in after us. Most items tasted the same and consistency was mostly runny, mushy, bland baby food like. Only 2 entries were put in new while there, fried fish and a creamed spinach mixture. If you don't like curry smell don't eat here. It is very potent when you walk in but the food wasn't strong curry. I don't like curry so was at least able to eat the food. My son didn't like the look of food on buffet so asked to order off menu and the host said no due to being very busy. All the empty tables were dirty, had to clean ours when we sat down. At least 10-12 tables were empty but never were cleared off while there. Host did say one of his waiters never showed up for work. My husband did like the fish.

We were surprised to find an Indian Restaurant in Sedona and could not wait to go there after a day of intense hiking in the red rocks. The place was quite large for my expectations and was quite packed on a Saturday evening but the staff greeted us and promptly found us a table. They served us papad and chutneys. The menu was extensive and had plenty of vegetarian choices. Being Indian, we ordered our food extra spicy but still it wasn't that hot (if you are Indian, be sure to specify the spice level as the food can be pretty bland otherwise). The malai kofta was the only entree that we did not like but everything else (bhindi, veg korma, bharta, dal makhni, naan, parantha, pulao) were awesome! They even got us dessert on the house (as they had asked us to change the table after seating us which we did not mind at all). The chai and desserts (especially kheer and mango custard) were yummy. The prices were on the higher side but that was expected (everything's a bit expensive in Sedona). Overall, the food, service and location all were great! Would highly recommend if you are craving some hot hot Desi food in Sedona.

Came up to Sedona over the labor day weekend and this was the best find ALL weekend. Very gracious and extremely accommodating. The Madrasi chicken was literally finger licking good. Very authentic and as good as you will get outside Mumbai. One love.. Oh and the chicken tandoori the guys next to us ordered looked amazing, gonna have to try that too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !

Wow! From the outside you would have never suspected this place to be such a treasure. Inside decor was nice, if not a little colorful and campy:) We went here for the lunch buffet and it was AMAZING! Excellent garlic naan bread. All of the food that I had was very flavorful--butter chicken was great, the saag paneer was the best I have ever had, there was an excellent mushroom and pea curry, lamb vindaloo was good, raita was excellent and the mint chutney was GREAT ( I am typically not a mint chutney fan). Would certainly recommend!!

My wife and I had lunch at India Palace while visiting Sedona. We were cautious about Indian food at what seemed to be an unusual location for an Indian restaurant. However their lunch buffet was one of the best we have ever had. If I lived in Sedona, I would definitely be a regular diner here.

We are staying in Sedona for a few nights and decided to give this place a try tonight. The service was poor, not slow just very businesslike, no welcome or pleasantries. Menu was decent and we ordered the chicken tikka and chicken tikka masala respectively. Luckily I asked if it came with rice because it did not and that information was not offered. I've been eating Indian food for 30 years and my girlfriend and I go to Indian restaurants about once per month and have had the dishes that we ordered many times. Food seemed freshly prepared, was temperature hot and came in good sized portions. Unfortunately the chicken tikka was far off the mark, it was rather flavorless and the vegetables were sautéed to the point that they had no body to them. It did not seem to be prepared in a yoghurt and spice sauce which is typical but in some kind of red sauce which I have never come across before. The tikka masala was a little better but lacked the typical bouquet of flavors and aroma that accompany a good curry. It was one dimensional flavor and had no spiciness to it despite it being a 3 out of 5. On the plus side the pappadoms and naan bread were good but they are rarely bad no matter where you go. I think most people that have developed a taste for good Indian food will be disappointed by this experience.

Reading the reviews, I was convinced to try the place! Not sure if it was the timing (between Christmas and New Year), or the two large parties before us, but the service was extremely slow. It took about 15 - 20 minutes before our order was taken. We ordered the chicken masala, a spinach dish with cheese (I can't remember the name, but I think it's a popular dish), rice and garlic naan. The naan never was served! We asked about it twice. Quality of the chicken dish was superb, the spinach dish was a bit on the salty side (although I did ask for spicy - and I am a bit sensitive to salt), and I can't comment on the naan, although I did desperately want it! Although I saw the glimmer of quality food during our meal, the service really wasn't up to par.

Gotta say that I LOVE this restaurant, so I'm baffled at the last couple of poor reviews. It's the number one choice in Sedona for my wife and me when eating out. We've been going at least once a week for the past 6 years and have never been disappointed. Went there yesterday and it was as awesome as always. When the really nice previous owner (Bobby) had a tragedy in his family, he sold to the really nice current owner (Bipa) and the quality of food and service has remained at the same high level. The only difference I'm aware of is that Bipa, a retired physician, has swapped out some of the less healthy ingredients for those that are healthier, but result in the same great taste. The lunch buffet is an especially good value.

5-stars for the taste of food. We had both veg and non-veg options and the curries were amazing. 3-stars for the service - Please hire more staff to wait on tables. We had to wait almost 15 mts after being seated to get a server to take our order. After that, it took another 45 minutes to bring the food. If it were not for the yummy food, i would not go there again. My recommendation - go there 1/2 hour before your dinner time and you will probably get your dinner on time.

My hubby had taken me to Sedona for my birthday, we had already done the Tex Mex thing and fancy restaurant, I was craving Indian...of all things. LOL. I found this place on the internet. It was raining out and I wanted to stay cozy in the room, so my husband was thoughtful enough to go pick it up and bring it back. Ordering over the phone was easy, they even ask how spicy i wanted the food. Well I believe they may have messed up our order a bit but I didn't care. The chicken tikka was so delicious, I think it may be the best I've had yet. We got plain and garlic naan, both were fine, nothing special. Vegetable Curry was really good. I got a vegetable samosa, it was crisp and tasty, but not the best I've ever had. Portion sizes were good. My husband thought it could've been spicier, but I liked it the way it was. I can't comment on the actual restaurant, my husband said it looked clean, and staff was pleasant.

I certainly did not set out to find an Indian buffet in Sedona but I'm so glad my friend and I noticed it as we were driving along and decided to check it out. India Palace is really bright inside with lots of windows. There were plenty of other people eating in the large dining room, yet the buffet area was never crowded. They had a great selection of entrees including saag paneer, vegetable korma, tandoori chicken, daal, chickpeas, etc. There was also a salad and 4-5 different desserts. Fresh naan was brought to the table when we got back with our food. Everything was delicious, and the price of $9 per person is a great deal. Rachel B. mentioned issues with the water but my friend and I both drank it and didn't have any problems.

My girlfriend and I always love coming here when we come up to Sedona..we were a little disappointed this time though since it seemed like everything was so runny it all just ended up looking and tasting like soup on my plate. I also noticed the chicken seemed fatty this time and just seemed off. I ended up eating just the vegetarian sides. I will try the place again since we usually like it, maybe it was just an off day for them.

I've had a home in Sedona for 7 years and I'd never tried this Indian restaurant. Maybe it was the location, or I thought Indian food in Sedona? Nah. Well thanks to yelp, I tried it this weekend...first for lunch. It Is bigger than it looks from outside. The dining room was full, and even had a couple of tables with what appeared to be Indians. I was by myself, and I noticed group after group greeted the owner as they came in to be seated. This restaurant definitely has a loyal local following! As of this weekend, that now also includes me. The lunch buffet is great. I've been twice, and the food is different everyday except for a few staples like rice, tandoori chicken etc. The selection is good and adequately spiced. I've also had dinner there twice ( all of these 4 visits were this week! ). The cardamom scented iced tea is nice. The naan, and crispy cracker bread with mint chutney are good. I ordered the vegetarian dinner and I added an order of chicken vindaloo. It's a good thing I did because the portions on the vegetarian dinner are too small. That would be my only criticism. I've read some comments about the lack of spiciness . They ask you how you like it, I ordered medium. Perfect. If you want it hotter, order it. The atmosphere is casual, not fancy 5 star dining. I will now be one of the regulars.....

Stopped in this small restaurant on Thanksgiving evening. We had been traveling all day and had eaten nothing but fruit, veg and raw almonds all day in the car. Thankfully this little gem was open and packed with locals. We were promptly seated despite the long line of people filtering through the door around us. Service was fast and friendly. Husband ordered the mixed tandoori dinner which included rice, naan, vegetable curry, tandoori chicken and lamb and plenty of grilled vegetables. The vegetable curry was amazing and I kept stealing bites. The chicken was tender and flavorful. $16.95 I was not that hungry so I just ordered a cup of vegetable soup $2.95 The portion was small for the price but it tasted great and it was just what I needed in the FREEZING weather. The murals are definitely interesting. As we were eating, a little boy walked around the room saying goodbye to all the animals painted on the walls. So cute. I'm very thankful that we found this restaurant AND that it was open (not much else was, not even the grocery store). I look forward to coming back one day. Husband wants to go back tomorrow for the lunch buffet.

This restaurant was recommended by a friend who has lived in the area for many years. She and her husband eat here regularly and told us we would not be disappointed. My wife is vegetarian and found many dishes to be tempting. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was pleasant and courteous. Prices were reasonable and portions generous. Only thumbs down was the men's room could have been cleaner.

Ran across this place by accident and glad we did... really good food! We had the chicken tikka masala with naan and raita, then kheer for dessert. Very nice staff, very clean, and good service. Definitely would recommend them.... will have to try their lassi next time!

Excellent food. The "complete dinners" are an excellent value. We ordered 2 for the four of us, and there was plenty to go around. Note: don't use the bathrooms here!!!! They throw their used toilet paper in a trash can by the toilet! Also, there are no paper towels. Besides this, a good choice for Indian food with beautiful murals of India covering the walls and a view of the red rocks.

I don't think it was quite as bad as the others have made it out to be. The food was a little below par. The veg pakora were waaay too oily, the paratha was dry, the saag was far too similar to baby feces, and they did not make it very hot even though I insisted on hot/spicy. There's... cool indoor wall murals to look at while you wonder why the place is so empty.

Very happy to have chosen this for lunch! =) Best Indian place I've been in AZ!! Woohooo!! =) Food = ***** Service = ***** Pricing = ***** We went here on our most recent trip in Sedona, we found the place by reading some good reviews here. And we were not disappointed! As we came in, not even one minute has passed, we were greeted and seated right away. Server poured some water on our glasses and told us we can start the buffet. So we did! heehee =) There weren't that many selections on the table, maybe around 8 dishes, which I think was enough so you don't go crazy too much..There were both non/vegetarian options which was good! There was another separate table for all the famous Indian sauces and desserts. For my first plate, I got the veggie fritter, sauteed spinach curry style, lentil dish, and a lamb and chicken dish. My favorite mixture of mint and tamarind chutney was on a separate cup..By the way, if you have not tried this mixture yet, definitely try it, it's a bomb!! heehee =) So anyway, I sat down, waited for my hubbie to get his food and then started our feast. I was all smiles while eating my first serving. The veggie fritter become an instant favorite while alternately dipping it on my fave sauce, yogurt and sauteed spinach..Hmmm so yummie! The hubbie just kept looking at me as I say, "Ummm, so good.." on each bite! haha =) Naan bread also came with the buffet, not a separate order as what some restaurants do. So needless to say, I came back for another serving heehee Desserts came last of which I got the Gulab Jamun (which is that little round sweet ricey dessert) and milk cheese cake. Great desserts!! =) Oh and also, observing the place while eating, we saw a few number of Indians who were also dining which I think is a good sign that food is really good and authentic! I also saw the owner serving other clients himself =) Very hands-on owner as it was busy that day.. Overall, we had a very lovely and warm experience here..=) The food is not very "hot" that makes it very well received by people who don't like very spicy food (like me). In that regard, I like food that has a mild kick/heat. So the only sad part was because I was eating sumptuously, I sat there for almost one hour uncomfortably sweating!!! haha I wanted to get out to get some fresh air, but did not. I savored it and continued until I finally had some desserts which gave me a break..heehee I made it though! Yay! =) This place is a must try in Sedona! =)

Food is really good and authentic here. Good lunch buffet, can't ask for more for like $10. Never came for dinner so i'm not sure about service (service was always fine during buffet hours). This place might need a little better ventillation (don't come here if you have plans after bc you will stink!) This is not meant to be rude in any way, it's just a fact.

Wow. This is some of the best food I've had. Ever. EVER! The sauce on the bombay potatoes was amazing. One of the best things I've ever tasted. The chicken tikka masala was great as was the raita. The na'an was quite good. The puala rice was good and even better on reheating. The vegetable pakoras were good as was the tamarind sauce. The green sauce (cilantro? mint?) was fine. One thing was an issue for me though not for my gf. They do some sort of funky process on their water which is supposed to make it better for you. They have a flier at the table about it. It totally tasted great. But, it gave me HORRIBLE pain in my gut. (Again, though, this did not occur for my gf.) So, if you have a wimpy digestive system like mine, don't drink the water here. The service was very attentive. Possibly a bit too attentive as my gf was quite sure on of our waiters was hitting on her as we left. Good thing I didn't notice! The walls are covered with some pretty great murals. Definitely, this was a bit of a hidden treasure. As we pulled up to it, I mentioned to my gf that we shouldn't expect it to be as good as our favorite indian place in Seattle. We were both delighted to find it even better. Most certainly, we would eat here again the next time we are in Sedona.

After a day of hiking the face off and consuming only water and coffee, this is the place I dream of. They have every kind of naan you could ask for (the lamb biz, yeaaaaah), their aloo matar is first-rate and not too greasy, they're generous with the rice, the raita is above average, the chicken vindaloo or chile chicken or mushroom bhajee is like DAMN and the joint is right next to the lodge in which I always stay. My requests to spice the fuck out of the dishes are always honored, the kitchen doesn't hold back for fear that I don't know how truly spicy Indian food can be. Respect. Warning: a request of "spicy" probably equals extra-extra-extra spicy to most people. "Medium" is probably a safe bet for the tough bitches out there, as "spicy" can be too spicy and make your food nearly inedible. Take-out is wrapped nicely if that's what you do. Eating in is also lovely, they have a modest wine selection if you want to indulge in some adequate red action with the meal. Simply because I love Sedona and have always eaten here after amazing experiences, I'd dare say this is my favorite Indian place on the planet.

3.5 stars for buffet. Food spice is toned down for local market buy tasty and fresh. +0.5 star for oddly Asian host who I swear used to work in Chandler at the now closed Indian restaurant nest to C Fu. We always hit up this place when we go to Sedona.

What sweet people at this restaurant. I am a local, and they make me feel like a star every time I come in. The food is great too. I usually order the palak paneer and the bhindi masala. They do a great job with the okra (bhindi) not too dry and not too oily. The saag paneer is your standard saag paneer. I've had better indian food in places like the bay area, but for a sweet little spot in Sedona, I love it. Sometimes I really crave it and can't help but frequent this restaurant. I'd say I go here more than anywhere else in Sedona.

The food is EXCELLENT -- prepared quickly, using fresh ingredients, and with lots of love. The service is UNBEATABLE -- very warm, welcoming, and quick. My wife and I ate here twice in 2009 and twice in 2010 (December) and it's the best Indian food we've had, including some home-cooked and also very expensive places in NYC. Dinner is good but a bit pricey. The REAL bargain is the lunch buffet. It's like $10 and they have a great selection of dishes to suit all tastes and wonderful soups. I wasn't a huge fan of the deserts, but I'm diabetic, so that's all the better, I suppose. :) We really, really enjoy Cuisine of India and have recommended it to friends who were not disappointed. It's always full of locals, which to me, is a testament.

Ess Y. isn't kidding about the spicy -- I've never had quite so much hot in a palak paneer. (Apparently they add red chili powder to order.) Good stuff, though, and not a bad deal -- and the staff as of April 2009 couldn't be warmer or gentler.

One of my favorite places to go when I am in Sedona, its wonderful... The art work on the walls is done by a local and if you go there for lunch you can see him in the corner everyday eatting his lunch. We stumbled upon Cuisine of India once about 6 months ago and have wanted to go back for a long time. Since we live in Phoenix, it's a drive, but we finally found ourselves back in Sedona and decided to try it again. It was wonderful, flavorful, fresh Indian food, just like we remembered. We had chicken biryani, palak paneer, lamb korma, veggie korma, and garlic naan. All of it was outstanding. I wish we had Indian this good in Phoenix.

Had visited this restaurant in Dec 2010 while holidaying with family and had enjoyed the experience. Last week went again with my parents, while passing through Sedona and left disgusted with the place and feeling cheated. Firstly, veg and non-veg food was on the same buffet serving table. Any decent Indian restaurant (especially claimed to be owned by a Gujarati) , also catering to vegetarians will know the basics of serving veg and non-veg on separate tables or atleast grouped separately to avoid getting mixed. Secondly, the food quality was terrible, except the daal, which is not something to brag about. The naans were also slow in coming and mostly burnt. The desert had some stale looking sweets. The buffet area for salads was cramped and the serving bowls not easily accessible, Heard a customer complain that he singed his hand while trying to reach the food which is not surprising , given the bad layout and old furniture. General atmosphere was chaotic with the waiters and owner scrambling around. To add insult to injury, our 4 person bill had a 15% service charge added on. When questioned, the owner said its a standard practice for 4 or more. I think this is a rip-off considering that this was a buffet lunch and the industry practice is for adding a service tax for groups of 6-8 or more. The owner said this is to pay `the kids who are serving the tables'. Well, that's called a tip and left to the discretion of the patron based on the service! Later learnt that the management has changed since my last visit in 2010, which explained it all. This place is best avoidable for every reason.

Really good buffet. Food quite bland, even the vindaloo was just mild. We took our kids to it and they ate the tandor chicken, chicken tikka masala and the lamb vindaloo. Everything was devoured :). I needed to get the spicy sauce for mine, but it was on the bar, so all is good.

Only thumbs down was the men's room could have been cleaner.

Food is really good! The lunch buffet is all you can eat! I'm a big guy so i like that...I have been eating here for 5 years and still go 2 or 3 times a week. Never gets old!

Yum!

Must try!

I am a local and a regular. The quality here has gone downhill in the last few months - new owner, new chef - seems like they are cutting corners. We found the reason why no customers there at 08:00pm. Waitress was just fooling around with guys there, no attention for customers. Curry was kinda tasteless, and totally food was not fresh at all. We never come back. Better try something else in Sedona.

Ate the lunch buffet. I didn't like the food. The nan was the only thing I enjoyed! The place was not very clean either. I guess it's nice to have an indian restaurant in Sedona- but I wouldn't go back....

As far as lunch buffets, it's pretty darn good. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The gulab is a sweet desert with fruit cocktail.

The restaurant has ambiance, and is perfect for a family dinner, a romantic date, or just a quick bite of lunch. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Five stars all around.
