What a wonderful fine dining experience! I had the filet migon and my Mom had the lamb shank with polenta. They were cooked to perfection! Even the French green beans had a twist with spaghetti squash on it! Wonderful and I'd come back in a minute!!

If you have 2 hours to spare, then this restaurant will meet your expectations. This is the second time we tried it....and I've wasted a total of 3 1/2 hours of my life now. Service is slowwwwwww. But sweet. They changed their menu since the last time we visited and took the one appetizer I loved off the menu, dip trio with amazing homemade chips. Well, you missed it, can't get them now. The food is average with a few items above average (like the elk burger). But a warning: every meat we've ordered has been overcooked (we order medium rare knowing this and still end up with medium well meat). The scallop risotto is good, as is the seared ahi. The Alfredo has been very thin & soupy, but not bland. The building is neat and historic with a great location. But overall.....I won't be going here again unless somebody begs me to give them a third chance. And I'm starving. And I have time to kill. And money I don't want.

We came here for breakfast after our first night of stay. The dining room is very elegant and yet still feels comfortable and causal. I loved that they used historic newspaper as placemats! My boyfriend ordered the standard eggs, bacon and pancakes and I had a fruit yogurt parfait. I was a little disappointed when the waitress said they didn't have Greek yogurt just the regular Yoplait. There were not very busy with only a few tables full and it took a while to get our food. Nevertheless, we planned out the day while waiting for the food to arrive so it wasn't a big deal. The food was mediocre and nothing out of the ordinary. In my opinion, the menu definitely needs to be updated to incorporate some creative dishes. Overall, we had a pleasant dining experience but the food left much to be desired.

Kinda bummed.... I've eaten here 3x now... The first two times were great. This last time, not so much... Went there 9/6 with a party of 6... There was only two other parties there. Our waiter was not very attentive, our APPETIZER took almost an hour. A seared Ahi Tuna took THAT LONG. It wasn't even amazing this time either. Our steaks came forever to take, nothing amazing... Potatoes were cold... Overall the food was mediocre at best, the waiter was clearly judging our group, who all have money, and were willing to spend it. Sadly, I won't be back.

Wow! The Vegetarian Chili Poblano dish was amazing! I highly recommend it!! Yum! So flavorful! Vegetarian Chile Poblano Fire roasted poblano pepper filled with sautéed leeks, spaghetti squash and yellow corn, served with mashed sweet potatoes, braised kale and smoked tomato coulis (gf)

They have an outside area that is dog friendly, the prices are reasonable, the ricotta pancakes are great with real maple syrup and home made raspberry syrup not to sweet and prices are very reasonable especially for a hotel.

Great place for date night. Dinner was delicious. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The lamb shank and polenta was one of the best meals i have ever ate. Service was great as well. I cant remember her name but she was Hawain. Very friendly and informative. The only reason i didnt give it 5 stars is it is on the pricey side and the ambience is a little out dated. But all in all great place for date night or special occasion.

Great breakfast menu! I got the lemon soufflé pancakes and they were amazing! I've never had anything like them before - they were thin and basically melted in my mouth. The raspberry sauce topping was perfect for them too! Also got a side of bacon, which was generous portion. Service was attentive and friendly. Also, the prices are definitely fair considering how good the food is. Highly recommend!

Ambiance is top-notch, and waitstaff were the height of friendliness. Portions are HUGE and DELICIOUS! Definitely not your typical "run of the mill" restaurant attached to a hotel. We had the Eggs Benedict and the "Preskitt Breakfast" and were extremely pleased with the size and taste. If we're ever back through Prescott we'll stay at the Inn and eat at the Peacock Room! Decor and design is a pleasant throwback to the 1920's, which we thoroughly enjoyed!

Dinner mediocre at best. Bread boring, portion of prime rib puny, service poor( seemed like only one waitress for the whole room.) Prices high for what you get. Too bad, had an excellent breakfast here last month.trout in blue corn meal was great.

Part of the fun of Prescott is the history and the HI is part of that. The public areas including the DR are charming. The food is pretty good, but noticeably overpriced. Service is spotty. Do it once for the experience

I had a major issue with the food and the manager wasn't there. Who runs this place? All I got was excuses from staff. Although, they were nice about the situation. They advised the manager would contact me back regarding my complaint. Nobody ever followed through. For the price of food we pay I would of hoped for better service.

Went here last weekend and it was great! Service was excellent and almost too attentive. The server helped choose the wine and went to ask another employee who has more knowledge re: wine prior to us deciding. The wine was just what we wanted. Had the prime rib that is $21 and it came with the most delicious spaghetti squash. Normally avoid spaghetti squash because its bland but I ate it all and wanted more. The prime rib was seasoned with enough salt to make it excellent and tasty. It was very tender. The baked potato was good with butter and sour cream. This dish came with a Cesar salad that was good too. I don't think this place charges too much since I don't know where else you could get a prime rib dinner for this price except maybe at a casino! Not sure why some other reviewers say its expensive. Maybe they normally go to cracker barrel? Anyway, my friend had the French onion soup that was correctly made because it had that deep taste that comes from using the right ingredients and slowly caramelizing the onions. It was served in a crock with the baguette slice and melted cheese on top. He also had the seared ahi that was very good. Definitely recommend this beautiful historic hotel and its restaurant!

My Husband and I Dined here on a Saturday night. To start we had the pork shank appetizers at the bar which were amazing! Tender, juicy and nicely seasoned and not drowining in sauce! Very large portion and we ended up taking some home. For dinner I had the scallops with risotto which was amazing! The scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto was a bit dry, but not overcooked, with good flavor and a nice chew to it. My husband ordered the prime rib which was perfectly cooked and very tender but unfortunatlely was lacking in seasoning. The sweet potato side dish was very good and quite interesting. Overall, I'd go there again, the atmosphere is nice, the service was great and the food was good. Also the portions were generous, especially for the price.

Had a really great time here at dinner. We didn't have a reservation (arriving at the hotel not sure of our plans) and they seated us quickly and brought drinks as ordered. We started out with grilled pear salad and arugula salad. Really liked both. Somewhat unusual takes on them but it worked well. Then main courses were fabulous. Diet-wise salmon with quinoa and butter sauce was separate which was key. Really very nicely done and fresh. Stuffed pork chop spicy and delicious. The room decor was also great and very comfortable and convivial atmosphere. Service was attentive and professional. All in all a great hotel restaurant and a good choice if your spending the day in Prescott and want a great dinner.

The food is great, but the best part is how the restaurant captures the essence and spirt of a past time. Just walking down the stairs, from the hotel, takes you back 100 years. As I passed the bar, it was easy to imagine Humphrey Bogart having a drink with Lauren Bacall. The use of tile and woodwork was splendid. If you appreciate upscale western ambiance, and have a love of commercial old west architecture and design, do not miss this place.

I have never stayed at the Hassayampa Inn but I recently had brunch at the Peacock Room and it was great. We were looking for a place that served breakfast past 11am and they fit the bill. They offer a Sunday brunch from 7am to 1pm but as far as I can tell it is pretty much the same menu as their regular breakfast but they were also serving Bloody Marys and Mimosas. I was pleased to find that it was not crowded and a really nice and comfortable dining area. The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and hubby had the steak and eggs. Both were excellent. I also ordered a side of sausage but I didn't care for it... it was fatty pork with very little seasoning. Its probably a little pricier than some other options in the area but overall a good experience.

I live in Scottsdale but love Prescott and go up there as often as I can. The Peacock dining room is one of my favorite places in Prescott. This dining room has early 1900's architecture with beautiful etched glass throughout. I have had both breakfast and lunch here and both are excellent, I go for lunch often. The menu is varied with many salads, sandwiches, soups, entrees. The house vinegarette with blue cheese bits is excellent. Love the Turkey club with real turkey, not that pressed rubber turkey. The Cobb salad is excellent. White table cloths, excellent service. They serve fresh baked bread with a balsamic dressing. After lunch explore this old hotel. Beautiful lobby. I highly recommend this restaurant. Prices are very reasonable.

We celebrated our New Year's Eve dinner here had overall a very good meal and good value. The starters were baked Brie covered with puff pastry. Large serving plenty of fruit and variety. Also ordered were Karen cocktail very delicious but typical. The downside is that the starters were big enough for two the waitress souls have told us. The main entrees included New York steak cooked Pittsburgh style. Scallops and risotto. Orange roughy. All very good appealing and served at once. The risotto was cooked perfectly. Downside was staff was inexperienced. They topped off soda water and lime with fresh still water three times. Brought boxed left over starters out prior to entree had to be asked to hang on until we leave. Kind of bad to have styrofoam boxes laying around while still being served and eating. Took plate with little food on before finished. Even though they asked earlier and we know how to leave knife and fork on plate to state your done. Parallel. But I will recommend and attend again

I am new to the Prescott area and have been trying many new restaurants. I went to the lounge of the Hassayampa Inn for happy hour and ordered the Peacock Salad, which was excellent. Excited to find a nice historical dining experience I returned with my husband and another couple for a birthday dinner. We all ordered prime rib, which we ordered both medium rare and medium well. The meat was prepared perfectly, with minimal fat and good portions. We also enjoyed the French onion soup and indulged in dessert. Our third and most recent visit was with friends from out of town. It was lunch time and we ordered the Roasted Chile Poblano, Monte Christo & the Margarita Chicken Sandwich. Everyone in our party was more than impressed with the quality of food. The menu, which is available online, seems to have a good variety of food and my experience has been that all of the food is of good quality and well prepared.

I don't know why anyone would eat here. I can tell you why my family does - because you get a free dinner for your birthday. After tonight though, we won't even be going back for that. The bread they give you is good. The weird italian-dressing stuff they give you with the bread is fine, but they claim it's a dipping sauce for the bread - okay, sure. There were gnats and flies everywhere. I killed one with my spoon on the table. I ordered the cornmeal-crusted rainbow trout with 'harvest rice' and chef's veggies. Everything was underseasoned as usual. The trout itself was okay, even though it was folded over so half of the skin was soggy. The rice was just rice. Nothing good or special about it. The chef's veggies - oh boy. Tonight it was green beans and spaghetti squash - two of my favorites. The spaghetti squash was crunchy, which makes me think they don't know how to cook it. The green beans were brown and wrinkly - disgusting. They tried to hide them by putting my spaghetti squash on top of them. When the waitress took our plates away, we showed her the difference between my green beans and the green beans my mom got - which looked perfect - probably because she ordered them with no seasoning so they had to be made fresh. The waitress came back and insisted that my green beans looked like that because they were seasoned. What? Unless you pour lemon juice or another type of acid all over them, seasoning green beans won't make them old and wrinkly. Even the desserts looked subpar with zero variety - half of them were cheesecakes. I won't be coming back here again, even with another free meal ticket.

6/25/2013: we took spontaneous road trip to escape heat in valley and had dinner here. We arrived close to closing time on a Tuesday night and had a great experience. It was like having a private meal in terms of attentiveness from staff. French onion soup tasted great with a hint of peppercorn. I had macadamia crusted halibut while my friend had steak with bern sauce. Vegetables were perfectly done - quinoa, tricolor couscous, and French green beans. Halibut was light & fluffy while steak was perfectly medium rare. All in all, it was delightful meal that added to our enjoyment of cooler weather & quaint small-town charm of Prescott

I stayed at the Hassayampa the first time I came to town and ate breakfast at the Peacock Room. My wife ordered the lemon soufflé pancakes(I think), and I had the huevos rancheros, both of which were excellent. The staff was super friendly, though it took a bit to get seated due to the remodeling going on at the time. I recommend it for breakfast and look forward to other meals here in the future.

We were staying at this Inn, and had a late dinner there one night, plus breakfast in the morning. That night I ordered a grilled chicken salad, and my husband had a bowl of homemade soap. I was amazed at how fresh and delicious everything was. The chicken on the salad was freshly grilled, and my husbands soup was loaded with ham. It was served with bread, and wine of you liked. Table had linens on them, and the servers were very nice. The next morning we ordered a big breakfast. I had the 3 egg omelet, with salmon, goat cheese, bacon, mushrooms. You can pick as many things as you like. Came with a side of hash browns, and toast. My husband ordered the steak and eggs. He received a delicious filet steak, made to order just like he wanted. He also had a side of hash browns and toast, and continuous coffee for both of us. Everything was so fresh. You could tell it was just made, and not been hanging on the stove. Soft music played in the background. Will definitely come back to the Peacock Room again.
