    Love Brown Bag Burger!!

Good food, staff needs to avoid public conversation. Light burger and small chips plenty for lunch, only 6-7 rollars. Delicious burger. Homemade potato chips crunchy, lightly flavored, very nice. Two servers were talking across the dining area about whether they were supposed to refill condiment bottles. Although they kept their tone of voice light, customers are made uncomfortable be hearing these debates.

What you want Vs what you get... I've been driving past this place for years, and finally today I took the time to stop by. It actually is a fun little place, but my experience wasn't what I expected. First, $53 for two xl burgers, two orders of chili fries, & two 3-piece fish meals is a little expensive, but thats okay, I've heard & read great things about this place so it should be worth it... except it wasn't. I don't know if it's common practice to have one person working on a Sunday afternoon, but either way, it wasn't an experience that will ever ever make me want to ever go back. The fish was good, the fries were filling, but the hamburgers, the reason I went in were horrible. The meat wasn't seasoned, and they were burnt to a crisp. It wasn't just over-done, it was literally burnt with chunks of char all over the hamburger. To add insult to char, we had to wait 20 minutes for one shake to be made for another person in our group. It wasn't that we waited 20 minutes for the food to come out, we waited 20 minutes for the food, then waited an additional 20 minutes for a shake, so by that time, the food, especially the fries were cold. Granted it was busy, but when you figure in that it was a Sunday afternoon, and the prices, they would have at least a 2nd cook so horrible experiences doesn't continue to happen.

Great Burgers, the medium is huge and very tasty. They will cook it the way you want. The Medium rare has so much added flavor. Combine that with delicious sweet Potato fries and you can't beat his place. I tried the chili and am totally hood. Great job to the hostess Laura. I'll be back again and again!!!

Late afternoon lunch. Stopped in to split a burger with hubby. Liked that the menu offered different size burgers. Even better they offered a deal to split the 10 oz cheeseburger that included fries and 2 drinks for about $14. Burger was perfect splitting size, however, wish the split came with more fries since they were being shared. Staff was friendly and the burger cooked upon order. So many places to try up in Prescott, not sure if we'll make it back again, but was a decent late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Glad we stopped by.

We strolled in there a little closer to closing than I normally would (mainly because they close at 8 and we had lost track of time during our weekend in the pines) but the girl at the register was bubbly and more than happy to help us and was nice enough to recommend not doing the chicken because it was a smaller portion. After reading some of the reviews we wanted to give this place a go but we also didn't want to keep them late so we took the food to go and right off the bat we were pleasantly surprised that with a bigger patty for their burger, it still fit the bun and neither was way to big or way to small. We kept it simple and didn't get too crazy with the order and customizations on the burgers but they did forget to omit onions from my girlfriends burger, though this is nothing that wasn't easily remedied. Given that we had read some of the reviews, I was a little gun shy with the amount of pink in my burger, but it was warm and definitely a good tasting burger. Was a bit disappointed with the amount and quality of fries that come with the order. Decent place to grab a burger but I have a hard time understanding why people say that this place is better than Five Guys Burgers.

The burgers are huge and tasty, little bit pricey but well worth every penny, the staff was very friendly and the only thing that was uncomfortable about the place is the seating set up.

  • Mercedes B.

THE BEST Burger in town! Honestly everything is so yummy there and staff is great! Takes a little while to get food, but it is totally worth it! I suggest splitting something instead of trying to conquer your entire order.

  • Michelle M.

Disappointed! I have NEVER left Brown Bag Burger hungry.....until now! We went in to split the dine-in special, a 10oz burger came with 2 small drinks and fries, we even paid the extra 1.99 to get sweet potato fries! The serving was smaller than I have ever had. I will not return, used to be the best burger joint......not any more! Save your money!

We went to Prescott on a day trip and checked this place out! This place has great burgers and great onion rings! The food comes out quick and tastes very fresh! If you're in Prescott and in the mood for burgers, check this place out!

  • Matt W.

Not bad. The burger was ok and seemed to be fresh but a bit greasy. It also didn't have much flavor. Buns could have been of higher quality. Fries were excellent as were the chips. The place itself is ok but nothing special. Looking forward to trying Marino's Mob Burger place next time.

  • Meghan D.

Best Burger in Prescott! Love the burgers, shakes and quick service. Much better quality than any of the chains around here. Add the green chile, you won't be disappointed. They also have a no bean chili that is outstanding.

  • Vern G.

Three stars for average fair. My husband had the regular burger and I had the 2 piece fish and sweet potato fries. Just seemed like basic food. The fish had a hard fried coating that really held the grease. Spent around $20.00 and that's without any drinks. Overpriced for the quality.

last time we were in Prescott we wanted to go here but they were closed so this past weekend we wanted to try it again while we were in town. We ordered 3 different burgers mine was the basic cheeseburger with bacon and i ordered a medium not knowing it was still going to be HUGE! i couldn't finish it all... next time ill get a small one but it was delicious. very juicy and the fries were good as well. we got my daughter the chicken nuggets and she loved them. The staff were very friendly and the place was pretty packed the whole time we were there. we went during the 4th of July weekend so there were more tourists in town. definitely coming back

This is probably the best burger in Prescott. Add two more locations and the only thing keeping Red Robin open will be the "chain feel". Huge burgers...juicy, and they have a very "natural" flavor to them. They have lots of options to add bacon or jalapenos to them, or get larger sizes. I can eat a lot and I don't even get close to their top two sizes. Their fries are large chip-style cut and they're delicious--they go great with ranch. Great 50's Diner atmosphere and feel...this little hole in the wall is serving up the best burger in Prescott, yes, but possibly the best burger I've had anywhere. I love the fact that they're locally owned and operated...small time, small town, huge flavor. I really like this place, and the milkshakes are to die for. For a standard American staple, I don't think you can do any better than BBB.

Restaurant is very clean - check hours as they close early. We went for dinner on a Friday night and they were closing up at 8pm. Burgers were amazing. Fresh and hot. I only wish they served 1000 Island sauce there. Fries were excellent tasting as were onion rings. Fish was very greasy and sweet potato fries were soft not crispy. Overall a great burger experience and the cleanliness can't be beat!

  • C. W.

Great burger and great sweet potato fries. If you are looking for an independant burger shop you can't go wrong with BBB. $5 kids meals are a good deal too.

    (4)
  • Penelope A.

We decided to try based on reviews and believe it or not they were featured in their local papers. I ordered the kids meal for my daughters and they were humongous ! Had a bacon cheeseburger and green chili burger which my husband and son enjoyed. Juicy burgers and crispy hot fries made their day. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and awesome food.

Not only does Brown Bag Burger have delicious food and good prices, the owner, Ron Anderson, has been donating 10% of the sales on Tuesdays to a local organization. January was set aside for North Star Youth Partnership where I serve as Senior Program Manager. The money donated to us from Brown Bag Burger will help in our spring afterschool programs and events. Mr. Anderson truly supports our local community. Brown Bag Burger is one of my favorite places to eat.

We came up to Prescott for a quick four day trip. We were almost at the end of our vacation and we've had horrible experiences with food this time. We've been to Prescott quite a bit and we've never had experiences like we did on this trip. We were pretty burned out on the restaurants around here but it was getting late and we weren't really up for cooking. We thought we'd try something simple so we searched for a burger place. We saw Brown Bag Burger listed and the reviews looked to be decent. We decided to give a shot. We went and picked up our meal. The food was great. We all enjoyed our burgers, onion rings, fries and shakes. The shakes are huge so we split them between two people. This was definitely the best food we had on the trip. To make this place even better was that the staff was super friendly and nice. I don't know if they were the owners or just workers but they had a great attitude. They made sure we had enough condiments and waited to make our shakes until we arrived so they wouldn't be melting. We really enjoyed this place and will be returning on our next visit to Prescott. I highly recommend it.

Awesome place ,good burgers was in Prescott for a class and I like to support local places . They have four different sizes of burgers and the small one is 7 oz , I can not imagine eating the xl burgers. Try the the green chili burger with pepper jack cheese AWESOME!!!!!! FRESH GREEN CHILI'S . The cashier was awesome /cute .

  • Brianny M.

I personally LOVEEEEE these burgers! These taste much like a home made burger and that's exactly why is DELICIOUS! Burgers are sooo big! I ordered the smalled patty they have and could barely eat it all! Onion rings were great as well!

    (5)
  • Chris H.

I am on a continual quest for the perfect hamburger having visit most of the CQ top hamburger restaurants. I tried this place because of good reviews on Yelp. I have to say that while it was a good hamburger, I wouldn't call it a great hamburger. It definitely fell into more of the "home" hamburger category. Also, the french fries were not very good at all. My guess is that they were frozen fries bought from a distributor. If they weren't, they need to rethink their fries (actually they should rethink them either way.)

    (3)
  • Terry C.

What a cute little hole in the wall place. A throw back to the 50's with the music and decor inside. They do a burger right! You can get a 4oz. Burger all the way up to a 20oz! The staff is friendly and the service reasonably fast for burgers made to order. When in Prescott this is a place you need to stop at for lunch.

    (5)
  • Jess S.

Awful I cant believe we paid $40 for previously frozen sysco chicken strips and cold premade French fries. The burger was ridicur priced tasted horrible no season and was also served with cold fries. The chicken sandwhich had a awful cheesy lil Costco hamburger bun and the chicken was thin and about the size of my 8 year olds palm. If you have a burger joint I at least expect something made in house. I could of got that same meal from the freezer section of Costco and it wouldnt of been as bland, cold and disappointing. Over priced frozen food.

  • Jordan M.

I used to love this place a couple of years ago, but that love is lost now. I've tried to like it since the new owners took over, but I guess when you have to pay extra for a small amount of fries already on top of a $14 sub par burger you just have to do what Kelly Clarkson says and "Break Away".

  • Chelsea W.

We were really excited about trying Brown Burger out after reading all the fantastic reviews. I ordered a regular size burger (which is actually pretty large!) and onion rings while my husband ordered the 3 pc fish basket on the recommendation of the cashier. We didn't have to wait long, and were excited to dig in, but we found that everything was just... meh. The burger was good, but not great and they fried the heck out of the fish, making it dry and tough. The staff was nice enough. Apparently, it got a new owner 4 months ago and we heard so much conversation about that while we were eating that it made us wonder if the food might have suffered from the change of management or if it was just an off day. Either way, we didn't experience anything extraordinary that would make us want to give this place another shot.

  • Mark F.

Excellent burger and not super expensive. Reminiscent of the old school drive in burger joints! My whole family of 4 enjoyed it!!!

    (5)
  • Robert K.

Just a hamburger joint. Nothing much special about the food or the decor. The hamburgers were average though way overpriced. Pictures of John Wayne ,Elvis ,James Dean on the walls..I thought the fries were bad but my wife liked them..all in all just another strip mall burger joint.

    (3)
  • Sandi C.

I had the best hamburger of my life here....and the chili cheese fries are to die for! If you have the chance to try their fresh berries and cream shake, you won't ever forget it.

    (5)
  • James R.

The hamburger was very good, the staff was nice and the restaurant setting was nice and clean, everything was fresh.

  • Jenn H.

We tried the burgers for the first time today. They were terrific! Some say they are pricey, but think about a meal at your local fast food place..it's almost the same price. Brown Bag uses fresh ingredients and the service was great!

    (5)
  • Kirsten N.

Pretty good food, very slow wait, not great service from the woman taking orders and she was very rude to some other customers right in front of us. Lots of eye rolling- totally unacceptable from a hostess, in my opinion.

    (3)
  • Toriana R.

We were excited to try this place! When we got there, the sign said that they opened at 11... we waited 20 minutes outside because one of their employees showed up late. The service was just ok.. but if you can deal with it.. the food was actually amazing!! Nice fresh burgers! I ordered the second from the smallest burger and it was huge!! Super juicy! Also order fries, which came out nice a crispy! We will be back, hopefully service will be better.

  • Jessica G.

Soooooo amazing I had their fish just yesterday. At first I was skeptical but it was AMAZING. I want more now!

    (5)
  • Ella M.

Ok...All I can say is BEST. BURGER. EVER! This thing is legit! I ordered the regular burger and saw that it was bigger than any other burger I have ever had. Seriously...they are made to order and cooked to absolute perfection. Their fries are absolutely delicious and from what I could see, their onion rings are probably pretty good! I can't wait to journey back up to Prescott and try this place again! Seriously...BEST. BURGER. EVER!

  • David B.

Great food, fast service. Delicious, moist well cooked Burger. Good fries too at a reasonable price.

    (4)
  • Jason C.

The service was good, but that's really all I've got here. I stopped in on the recommendation of some co-workers as the best burger anywhere. It does look like the patty was hand formed, but that's about as much attention as the meat received. No salt or pepper touched the grind and even though I had it medium/medium well it was still dry and uninspired. The portion size was huge and the bun was tasty, although the sweet potato fries were of the frozen variety that you could find in Costco (good, but not not worth the up-charge). Take this review with a grain of salt as I have extremely high expectations when it comes to a good burger and perhaps they were having an off day. If I try them again I will revisit this review.

  • Mike K.

How good is this Burger? It's so good I made a yelp account just to write a review. Take this place seriously. I could not be more pleased. I was not expecting a burger this good. I just moved to Prescott. I'm kind of a burger enthusiast. I know a thing or two. I've travelled the world. I've eaten a lot of burgers. I'm not often impressed and have been conditioned by franchises to be dissatisfied. This burger is just a darn good straight forward burger. Bottom line: you won't regret eating here if you like burgers. UPDATE: I still eat here. I still really like their burgers. The quality is actually pretty consistent. I know what to expect every time I come in.

    (5)
  • Henry R.

Best burger in Prescott hands down. Don't be fooled by the strip mall exterior. They are doing high quality burgers in this joint. The reviews are spot on, the green chilli burger is the best of the bunch. I don't however agree that the small is all you'll be able to eat. I'm not a big eater and I took down the middle sized burger no problem. Be aware the french fries and Onion Rings don't seem to be salted, but thats easily resolved. Don't miss this little jewel....you'll thank me for it.

Everything was great, the hamburger was incredibly good and I got the special with refillable fries. Thumbs up

  • Ric R.

Most of the popular burger joints in Phoenix specialize in burgers that are on the thin side, so I was exited to try a nice, thick, juicy burger on a 2012 pub crawl trip to Prescott. I mowed down a bacon cheeseburger and fries on that trip and promised myself that I would be back . I went back....... And I fell in love once again with BBB. This time I ordered the medium Green Chile Burger with fries. Damn, it was a big and delicious burger! The price of the burger includes a side of fries. My wife had a small (actually only slightly smaller than my burger) cheeseburger. Again, damn, that was a great burger. My Green Chile burger was topped with lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, ketchup, onions and no mayo. I highly recommend you skip any other bar or burger spot in Prescott and head over to BBB. I'd like to say that I'll try their hot dogs next time, but how can I turn my back on those burgers? How? The woman that took our order came to our tabel to see how we were enjoying our burgers and I really appreciated her helpfulness. **Tip 1 In Sedona and dying for a burger? Drive the 1.25 hour trip to Prescott to try a BBB! **Tip 2 They don't serve beer or booze, but the Streets of NY does. Slam a beer at Streets and head a door down the way to get a great burger.....or.......flask it and have a mixed drink with you flavorful burger. **Tip 3 Leftovers? Don't chuck that half eaten burger. Get some butcher paper and a brown bag for a microwave treat later in the night.

  • Brett S.

I had the fish and chips. Maybe I would have been more impressed if I had a burger. The 3 fish pieces were small as well as the amount of fries. I felt it was way over priced. Surprised it only has one dollar sign.

    (2)
  • Richard D.

Good service, cashier was real friendly. The burger was disappointing. Good size but not a whole lot of flavor. Plus they are on the pricey side. It's better just to go to In and Out.

    (3)
  • Sheila R.

I was in Scottsdale today and had a five guys burger with Cajun fries for the first time. While I cannot say anything bad about 5 guys, as it was delicious, I have to say that in my opinion, brown bag burger is still the best!

    (5)
  • Samantha R.

Just....no. Staff was rude, talked about other customers when they left and just complained the whole time.

    (1)
  • Erika K.

A 10oz burger is humongous! My husband got it and couldn't get through it. I ordered a regular burger and I couldn't get through it. I would "size down" on anything you order :) If you have a choice between 5 Guys or this, go Brown Bag Burger. Plus, you can park your car, eat lunch, and then walk a short block (uphill) to the main street. I gave it 3 stars only because to me -- it's just a burger. But for the record, the service was fine (it's counter order/pickup), the food was good , and the ambiance ordinary.

I have been a huge fan of Brown Bag Burger since they first opened their doors. I always recommend them to anyone looking for the best burger anywhere. Unfortunately that no longer holds true. My last visit was a disaster. I ordered my regular hamburger the same way as I have for years, but this was a mess. It was completely greasy. The bun was absolutely soggy with grease. The toppings were sloppy, falling off and not the extra I had asked for. Worst of all, the hamburger was actually raw in the middle. If I had not driven all the way home with it as usual, I would have been able to show the employees what a mess it was. It breaks my heart that my favorite place has been ruined. I will not go back again. (I had heard that it had recently changed to a new ownership, but I don't know if that is true. Either way, it was awful!) I no longer recommend it to anyone, so not only have they lost my steady business, but now they have lost business from others as well. The fries were OK.

I have been eating at brown bag since they opened , I have yet to be disappointed. Carol is always friendly and very helpful! I love this place and always recommend for the burgers in town!

    (5)
  • SixCat F.

Delicious Chili dog! They use polish dogs & it makes a huge difference in taste versus a regular dog. The chili is awesome all by itself! Nice & meaty, yet not overwhelming. The onion rings are fresh & crispy, yet not too hard. Love this place & Carol is always so friendly!

    (5)
  • Keith K.

Wow!!!! Great burger! Fresh ingredients and a nice blend of meats in the burger. You can tell there is pride taken in the food here. They frys were great too. Jason and the crew took great care of me while I enjoyed my meal. A must have burger if you like burgers. These guys are the real deal! Btw. The small burger is huge. Be carefull when ordering!

I decided to try this place on my last trip to Prescott with my boyfriend (Trying to support local businesses!) from the reviews on here. And you all were right! It is good quality stuff. Id give a better review, however I do not like my burgers well done. But even though it was well down, the food was still tasty. The fries were so yummy! My boyfriend (ignoring my advice) ordered a large combo with chili cheese fries and it was LARGE! But the chili cheese fries (even though they are 3 dollars more) are MORE THAN WORTH IT! I kept stealing his fries, they come on their own dixie plate. The waitstaff was friendly and quick, they even took our plate for us when we went to toss our garbage away. Definitely stop and try it next time you're in Prescott and want a burger fix!

  • Larry L.

BBB opened in Yuma and then moved to Prescott where they still make a hamburger that is as good as a hamburger can be. The burgers, made to order are big (even the small ones) and the shakes are creamy, rich and decadent. If you want a thin, anemic hamburger, there is no reason to come here because they don't make those. In the universe of mom and pop hamburger joints, BBB ranks at the very top.

  • Arlin B.

Next time your in Prescott and looking for a great burger head over to the Brown Bag Burger. It's one of the busiest hamburger hideaways in Prescott and gives Kendall's a run for their money. Everything is fresh and made to order! Not only are their colossal burgers proportioned for the very biggest appetite, their made-to-order and very delicious burgers taste better than any brown bag lunch you'll ever have. Their burgers start with home made potato buns made fresh daily. The smallest burger on the menu weighs in at 7 ounces. From there, they ratchet up to 10-, 14- and a jaw-unhinging 20-ounce burger. If you leave Brown Bag Burger hungry, better have yourself checked for a tapeworm or some kind of stomach defect... Not to mention the fact that the shakes and malts of hand-scooped ice cream are 28 ounces! Tasty but a bit too much for one so share it with a double-straw. Their menu includes burgers of course, fries, sweet potato fries, hot dogs, great milkshakes, a kids' menu, fish and chips, shrimp basket and chicken nuggets. They are a bit pricey for a burger joint: The small cheese burger and fries goes for $6.95, the extra large with fries for $12.35. Arteries permitting, add cheese, bacon, green chiles and jalapeño. Take a friend and share it, there is plenty of food! Bring your game face and your appetite, and come early as lunch was packed - literally!

First time here up from Phoenix on business...saw the reviews on Yelp and thought I would give it a try...I ordered the medium bacon cheeseburger and added jalapeños with pepper jack cheese and substituted for the sweet potato fries...All I have to say is AMAZING burger that I would recommend to anyone...they have 4 different size burgers...I got the medium 10 oz cause I was hungry but the 7 oz small is big enough!!! Get the "burger for 2" if your coming as a couple and are not starving...plenty of burger to go around!!!

big tasty burgers, nice old school diner feel for dining in.

  • Holly M.

I love local joints and frequent them as often as I can. Thia little mom & pop is one of my favorites. Fair warning come hungry the portions are huge. This looks like your typical dive joint, but walk-in and take in the aroma. The patties are pressed & put on the flat top, cooked to your liking & extra fixings available, bacon to jalapenos...bring your imagination. AND YES you definitely want the small. Unless you are Larry Fitzgerald of the Cardinals & haven't eaten in 2 weeks, then go the next step up. The sweet potato fries are awesome & a great substitute. The atmosphere is totally comfortable & relax, 50's-ish. Eat in or take to go. Beware, if you go back to your office with this happiness you will be very popular. I love supporting the local guy especially when their food rocks. So join me at brown bag & have some great food.

  • Lisa G.

I came here because i was told it is better than five guys. The burger was good. A little over priced, though it was huge (and I got a a small). I can't imagine getting a large or extra large. Fries were hot and crisp. I would say try it but I still think five guys is better.

This place really hits the spot when I've worked all day an didn't get a chance to eat. I just stop in & gorge. Not to mention the staff are all cheerful & competent.

This restaurant is always busy. Get there early for lunch or you will be in a long line. The food has always been awesome. Burgers are big and juicy. I think they need to move to a bigger location though. My 10 yr old son and I share the medium 10oz. with frys. This way we don't waste and have room for a shake too. You got to try it.

I heard a TON of hype for this place when it first opened, and I checked it out for myself after it had been open for about a year. I found it to be pricier than I expected, but also bigger than I expected. Unfortunately, it was really just not as amazing as I had heard. Don't get me wrong - it's a giant tasty burger no matter how you order it. I think it speaks for itself that I haven't made a point to go back - I find In N' Out meets my giant burger needs for much less moolah. The one thing that stood out for me was a big Con: the dining area itself is TINY. As in, so tiny I started to get claustrophobic when people began to sit around us and we were squeezed in, and I had to go outside for some air. It's very clean and decorated nicely, but if you don't like small spaces, BEWARE.

  • Danielle A.

Enjoy their burgers but wish they would lower their portion sizes and prices. I think their buns were different when they started out - they seem to fall apart half way thru the burger. Green chile burger is very good and so are the fries but end up eating it without the bun. We are always looking to support small business restaurants in Prescott and we eat out often but we have had a hard time getting on board with Brown bag because of the cost of a "good" burger and waste of food. Wish it was also more family affordable...

Very good find. We were looking for BBQ and decided to try this place instead. It was really good. The portions were big and my added green chili's were plentiful and flavorful. Also, the fries are outstanding. Big portions too!!!

  • Dharma B.

Great find! They took over the spot vacated by Samurai Sam's. Apparently they moved here from Yuma and won several "best burger" awards when they were here. Who needs to wait in line at Kendall's anymore? Brown Bag's burgers are delicious and juicy, and come in 7 oz. all the way up to a whopping 20 oz.! The best fries I've had in years. Welcome to Prescott!

  • Ariana A.

After reading the reviews I really wanted to check this place out for myself. And it was awesome! The burgers were huge and delicious, I got a simple cheeseburger with fries. It was about $8.50 for the huge burger and fries, which was awesome! My only complaint is that the place is pretty small and the girl behind the counter was pretty snippy and mean. My friend, who has food allergies, had to ask about the food and her response was "I don't have time for this". But I wouldn't let the counter girl rate the place low because it's worth the trip!

I really wanted to like this place but my burger - though the ingredients great - the bun was completely awful - Cold and not at all soft. Why would you serve a hot burger with cold everything - (veggies and sauces expected to be cold) on a cold fresh out of the plastic bag bun?? When you get home with it the burger is completely cold. How hard is it to steam a bun? Place it on the burger as it is cooking with a cover over it - buns should be soft and fresh - with a nice shine to them - not cold and stale. Making this change will hugely increase the quality of the burger.

Holy smokes, I love this place. Fresh ground beef, HUGE burgers (I mean seriously huge, and I'm what my 6 yr old niece calls "A big burger guy"). I always think I'm hungry enough for a medium because they're just so good, but invariably I end up taking home some for later. Green chile, bacon cheese, good ol' regular; all exceptional. I barely ever eat the fries because there's so much burger! Great special for 2 is a medium, fries and drinks for $10 if memory serves. That's a medium for two people to split, and it's plenty. Dine-in only. Small space. If you're dining near the order line, you'll have some folks squeezing past you. It's all worth it. Bring an appetite!

We will never go here again. The gal that took our order was rude and they would not let my wife purchase a kids burger. We explained to the gal that my wife had had surgery and was unable to eat that much food, the clerk did not care. I only hope they go out of business soon.

We'd heard a lot of good things about Brown Bag, so we decided to give them a try for lunch. Very happy we did. First of all, others aren't kidding about the sizes of the burgers. HUGE. I overestimated my ability to down one of their large burgers. I ended up leaving a few bites on the plate despite having been raised by my momma to clear the plate. Fries were excellent as well, and everything was cooked to perfection. The burger was excellent! My one peeve is the way the menu is set up, with drinks/fries being separate from the burgers. Kind of an odd way to sell their product when no one else does it that way (with good reason). Otherwise, highly recommended!

Go here and eat if you are hungry for a big burger. It's delicious and the sweet potato fries are pretty darn awesome. Do not come here with a little wimpy, baby appetite and complain because you don't agree with how this private business conducts it's burger practices (read other reviews). Frankly, any review below 3 stars is a false review. People go to restaurants to eat, not snack, not nibble. Unless the building is in a crime ridden area and falling apart, shut your mouth and enjoy the food. If you can't handle a big burger, go eat a big mac at a chain restaurant and come back when you can handle a real burger.

I wasn't expecting much since EVERYTHING in Prescott I've eaten so far except my cooking and the Hawaiian BBQ place has been horrible. (I'm here all summer) I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was here! Super fair prices, more than delightful and helpful service and the food was yummy! The cheeseburger was HUGE I couldn't even finish it and I ordered the small version. The meat was juicy, cooked perfectly, tasted fresh, and was seasoned well. The produce on the burger was fresh and the fries were really crispy. I will definitely come back here!

Went with my wife and parents. The hamburgers were huge. Got the small and can't imagine getting a larger size. My dad had a choc malt shake and said it was good. It would be nice if the shakes came in more then one size. I had the sweet potato fries which were very yummy as were the onion rings. We got there right before the crowd and it was really tight in there before we left. Really great place

Great place with great food! I ordered the small bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and definitely wasn't disappointed! It was a ton of food, but everything tasted fantastic! This place will be visited by me every time I'm in Prescott!

Truly the only positive thing to be said here is that the portions are enormous... but you unquestionably pay for it - the prices are outrageous to say the least. Not a single burger on the menu for under $10! Again, portion size is very nice, but it's nowhere close to a deal. It would also help if the burger was tasty, but mine wasn't. The burger I had was not terrible, but unremarkable flavor-wise. Ditto for the fries. Eating in is a strange experience. Very small, not a good seat in the house - if you sit in the middle of the restaurant, people literally brush past you as they approach the counter, and you're truly shoulder-to-shoulder with your neighbor. If I'm going to pay $15+ dollars for a burger, fries, and a drink - it'd better taste good, not have sheer size as the only thing going for it.

I am a big eater and their "medium size" burger and a side of fries was enough for me. I ordered "The Blake" which comes studded with green chilis and enough toppings without falling apart. Fries were made from the large size potatoes and thickly cut with skins left on, perfect!

I love the brown bag! I meet my hubby here for late lunch on days I have to come into town. The staff is amazing... I don't know how she always remembers my order, I don't come here more than once a month...but she knows what I want better than I do!! The food is huge proportions, and beyond good. I wouldn't bother comparing to kendalls because quite frankly kendalls sucks! Don't judge this book by it's cover, I never had a real "brown bag" lunch as good as this place!

Old style burger joint. Awesome friendly service and delicious food. Sizes are very large. Order smaller than you think!

Come hungry! The burgers are BIG and very TASTY. I ordered the medium burger with jalepenos and it was great. Too big for me. The fries are wonderful too. The milkshakes are thick and creamy... definately worth the try. If there are two of you, check out the burger for two deal. Split a medium burger, double fries and two drinks! It will fill both of you and save you some $$. Also, the best chili cheese fries ever!

Just had my first dining experience at BBB. I got the medium (10oz) burger, medium rare, with Swiss cheese, bacon, grilled onions, ketchup and mustard and onion rings. The burger had good flavor, and was a little larger than the bun. I would suggest leaving the burger in the wrapper, as the grilled onion juices, ketchup and mustard accumulated in the bottom of the wrapper. Overall, it was a good burger, the staff was overly friendly and the place was clean.

It's a burger joint, but with decent burgers. Fresh and tasty! They also have hot dogs and fish fry. They have a special huge burger that you can split, it's a good value.

Pretty decent burgers. As noted by Michael, they are not chintzy. Don't order the 10-ouncer unless you live close and can go home for a nap. Digesting all that delicious protein makes my body shut down. Be sure to specify strongly what you want on the burger, or they will choose for you without telling you. Their chili fries kill. We never have a burger without them. And, they are next door to a nifty yogurt place for dessert.

Just tried this place today. The burgers are giant we got the med (10oz) bacon cheese including fries. Better than Kendalls or Fud Ruckers and bigger. They are pricey so don't be shocked. With 2 drinks the total was 27.00 and change but well worth it and having them cut the burger in half would be a help in eating one. Very yummy and the staff are nice too.

OK, you can stop right here. I grew up in SoCal when surfing and burger joints were the rage and this place makes the best burgers I've ever had...anywhere. It's simple and straightforward and contrary to another reviewer you can split a burger. They have an option to split a burger and get two drinks or a huge Malt, that you can also share. These burgers are awesome and they are gigantic. They have several sizes but my wife and I always split a medium with unlimited fries. The burgers are juicy and delicious. The malts are the best I've ever had. It's a no-frills place and they don't do anything fancy but if you want a burger, fries and a malt this is the best joint in Arizona. It's a little tricky to find. They are located in the Depot shopping center at the corner of Sheldon & Montezuma but worth the search. This is my only 5-star rating in Prescott.

This is a family owned shop that knows how to make an awesome burger. The portions are large, so order two sizes smaller than you would order anywhere else. You small burger folks will need to bring a friend.

I almost never give out five stars for anything, but I couldn't find any reason not to for BBB's. Maybe I've had a better burger a few times in my life, but this burger was still somewhere very near the top of my VERY small list of classics. Like Michael T. below, I grew up on So. Cal. (if you ever smell beach and burgers at the same time you'll know you are in the right place and you might want to check to make sure you have a pulse...) he's totally right. It trips all the right triggers from a great straight-up-no-fancy-bullshit burger to fantastic shakes to truly crispy fries to simple, but honestly down-home-good chili cheese fries, to a local owner who works the cash register and has a real personality. The place was small, but not nearly small enough for me to feel "claustrophobic," as one diner put it in these reviews. My only warning is that our navigation device put us in front of a large building that clearly was not the home of BBB. Turns out that the restaurant is in a small part of a larger corner shopping mall that is adjacent to that big building, so keep looking! Places that hit these triggers should be the first to earn five stars. When do you find a place that isn't trying to be everything to everyone and start their own franchise (e.g. Five Guys, but I could name half a zillion more...) with some crap concept. Just give me a great burger hanging with the locals and a dash of good personality. I'm yours. Oh, and BTW, I think the "small" burger was just over $7 and came with fries. I don't know who thinks that's expensive for almost 1/2lb of burger and all the fixin's, but those people don't know much about restaurant costs--that's not expensive based on costs and I'll put the BBB burger up over an I&O burger of any size or type any day. This is the real reason to shop local.

Love, love, love it. Best burgers anywhere in town or anywhere in the tri-city area at least. Burgers are cooked perfectly and the meat is wonderful. My husband and I eat here semi-regularly and have never, ever disappointed. If I were to say anything negative is that the place isn't big enough, isn't open on Sundays and is a little on the pricey side but worth every cent.
