Ken-san has, as I was informed last night, moved to Hawaii and is now driving a cab. The new owners trashed the little Japanese grocery that was adjoining and expanded, added some ambient dance tracks, bought a full liquor license, and now it is like every other sushi venue in Phoenix. I ate there anyway. It was okay. Just another testimony to the reasons for my leaving this infernal town. My previous glowing 5-star review will be preserved below in honor of my memories. --- This venue is one of the very few things I miss about Phoenix. Ken-san would always have the freshest tastiest things for me whenever I dropped in. Unlike many of the sushi venues that can be found nearby, this is his family place and he takes pride in his art and business. The wait can be a little long during the lunch rush, so if you have time constraints, I would suggest stopping by for dinner. I can not recommend it highly enough. I would almost fly to town just to eat there. I enjoyed it so much that I was always taking first dates there. I'm sure they thought that I was a huge manwhore since I was never bringing the same girl there twice. :D I would always leave this restaurant happy when I lived in the Phoenix area, and you will too.
