I definitely did not enjoy their high prices, but their chili cheese fries were at $3.00 or so and could be an entree instead of a side or a small appetizer. I didn't become a fan of their burgers, but I did enjoy the taste of their frozen custard, again just not the price.

Freddy's reminded me of Arizona's take on California's In-N-Out! From the menu, to the color scheme! (Though I discovered there are other locations with Freddy's) I thought the best thing on their menu was the "Double Steakburger California Style" just because of the fact that it was supposed to be "California Style." I didn't taste it, but I bet it would've been comparable. My sister and I shared the "Freddy's Original Double" while my other sister and her boyfriend shared the "Original Double Patty Melt." The meals are capable of being shared, but are definitely made for one person. Their "steakburger" patties are delicious! It's bigger and a bit heartier than a regular patty. I think my favorite part about the meal, though, was the French fries. The fries were the thin-cut kind, but there was a big portion of them! I really favor when my fries are fried to a crisp, which Freddy's were. As for dessert, my sister and I also shared the "signature turtle sundae." Actually, this might've been my favorite part about the meal. Freddy's was just A+ in my opinion.

Dirt and worms sundae was great Chocolate brownie sundae was great Vanilla custard is so much better than the chocolate. Their food is also good. Had steakburgers and fries the other night and enjoyed that as well

This is one of the best steakburgers I have every had, loved the shoe string potatoes. The staff was very cordial and accommodating. They came around to each table to make sure everything was OK and clean up any trays that weren't being used. I only wished I would have tried their custard, a my next visit for sure.

Had the single burger and hubby had the double. Both were prepared correctly and tasted really good. I love the fry sauce! The shoestring fries are very yummy too. Would go back for sure.

I've only had the fries and custard here and every time it was great! I had really good service here as well. The place is nice and clean and the atmosphere is nice. Good for what I like to call better fast food.

The meat patty on the single with cheese was pressed so thin, it ended up crisp/burnt and I could see through the holes. I felt it was a sorry excuse for a burger. The shoestring fries were nice though.

Excellent customer service and really good food too. I ordered the Patty Melt followed by a custard sundae, which was fantastic.

The hubby and I are from Cali and we have been on the hunt for a cheap yet good burger here. We tried out Freddy's today and we are sold. It's very similar to In-n-Out but a bit cheaper and the menu is bigger. We spent $20 and we both got a burger, fries, one drink, and one medium sundae. I was impressed that we did not spend a whole lot but we were super impressed that everything was delicious! Cheap and good has proven to be a bit difficult in Flag but this place fit what we were looking for. Along with good prices and good food, the staff was polite and great. Try this place out!!!

Burger patty is as thin as a piece of paper. Fries are so skinny it takes 10 to equal one normal fry. The food is tasteless...won't be coming back again!

I never order double meat at restaurants, but paid close attention to the existing reviews here and decided it'd be worth it... it was a good decision. The patties here make McDonald's look like actual burgers. Honestly, I believe they're about 1/8" thick and not tightly packed at all. If you go, get the double. Overall, the burger really wasn't impressive. :( The skinny fries were great, and the custard was very good. Staff were also friendly and the food was served up quickly. It wasn't the worst meal I've ever had, but I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to go back.

Tasty frozen custard. Medium sized burger with flat patties and I mean flat... Fries are cut very thin which is good. Chicago dog does not mimic the actual chicago dog, but a decent attempt. Would go back if Im in flag staff.

First time here and I felt like I was walking into an In n Out! Sadly food was nothing close to in n out.. Good quick place to stop and feed everyone for a pretty good price. Best items that I'd order again are the fries and FROZEN CUSTARD! Hamburgers were not that great, kids and husband took a few bites and then threw away. If you're in the mood for fries and frozen custard this is the place to go:)

Great food, awesome staff. Very clean, super fast service. And the theme keeps you wanting more

Went there today for the first time because I heard it was good.. Well they messed up my order and the price is pretty steep for fast food. $11.xx for a double burger and fries,.. The plus is the burger was pretty good, but unfortunately for the money I could do much better I feel.. And the fact that they made a mistake on the first and only time I've gone (1for1) I really am not very inspired to return. Cheers..

Just had custard, but it was amazing. Chocolate in a waffle cone - stopped on the way to Sedona and then on the way back, too, because it was so good.

1st time customer. I had the double California style steakburger which was very tasty. I'm not a fan of the skinny fries even though they were good. It just makes sense that meaty steak fries would be a better complement to a "steak burger". Maybe corporate could consider an alternative choice? ? I also had the turtle sundae, Awesome! These burgers remind me of Schoops hamburgers from the Chicago area which I missed very much. I will definitely be back again!

We live right by Freddy's, but normally go to a different burger place in town. Tonight I was lazy and decided we would "settle" for Freddy's because it is closer. Settle, we definitely did not. We had Freddy's burgers many times, but prefer a different style of burger. I went and got our burgers to go. I also decided to get some dessert, but couldn't decide. The cashier recommended their new bunt cakes, so I caved and ordered one. Best decision I could have made, it was beyond delicious. As I was waiting for my order, I went to get my soda and the ice dispenser got stuck and would not stop spewing ice. The workers were very pleasant and prompt about getting the situation fixed (took a minute) and cleaning it up. Having worked in the service industry myself I know what it is like to have to clean up a mess someone else made, even if it is an accident and not the customer's fault. These workers didn't show the slightest irritation, in fact the situation was almost amusing. The customer service was phenomenal from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left and the food was delicious. We definitely will be eating more Freddy's again.

Freddy's is a Flagstaff favorite. Their burgers and custards are great as well as the staff. I enjoy the ambience and food!

I've been traveling all week. This is by far the friendliest most helpful staff of any restaurant I've eaten at all wek. Oh, and the green chili steak burger was pretty good too!

If you are looking for a hamburger and fries, with the possibility of a delicious frozen custard dessert, it doesn't get any better than this. Sometime we drive to Flagstaff from Scottsdale just to go here (plus we like the drive but still..). If you never had frozen custard you are in for a real treat. It is something like ice cream but is made with more cream (compared to milk). The taste is unbelievable. Always clean, fast service, and consistent quality. My wife and I have been here about a dozen times and is it always great.

Ever been to Culvers in the Midwest? It's wonderful; tons of flavors of frozen custard, amazing butter burgers, their very own root beer, and more. While I may come back, nothing in the diner burger/restaurant category will beat Culvers. I suppose I expected too much anyway being from the land of food. It's alright if you're hungry, but don't save your appetite if you want to eat at Freddy's. That being said, Freddy's is NOT that bad of a place, especially compared to other places in Arizona. Fantastic service, helpful workers, and a clean interior. My favorite part was still dessert, but if I'm in need of a burger I may as well stop here!

I never had frozen custard before but it's pretty tasty. If I'm ever climbing in priest draw again I'll finely stop by for some worms in dirt.

Addicted to the turtle concrete!!! Everything is fresh especially the fries . This is a must-go place if your in the area

I came here on a Sunday night with my fiance to grab some stuff through the pick-up window. We took about a minute or two to actually order our food (this was my first time here and didn't really know what to expect). I ordered the original double steakburger with cheese and the dirt n' worms concrete custard. I was very pleased with how tasty and fresh the burger was and how delicious the custard was. The skinny fries were also really good and the size large is big enough for two to share. I would definitely recommend this place for quick and tasty food at a fairly nice price! Edit: It's not all that great inside, especially since the workers like to stare you down while you're looking at the menu. Seriously, when I'm ready to order I promise I'll go up to the counter.

The burgers are kind of plain. Kind of small and pretty greasy. The French fry sauce is really tasty. It's pretty expensive for what you get

We were traveling from CA. It was delicious! The california burger was tender and fresh. The custard was delicious. It reminded me of the great custard in West Virginia! I will be eating there again before I leave.

It hits the spot. I like This joint better than In and Outs because they serve frozen custard. The meat is leaner than IO and should be a little better for you ;) overall this place is the BOMB DIGGEDY!

Incredible experience. Our church bus broke down and we took 20 people here for frozen custard to get them out if the heat. Kylie met us at the counter not even knowing our story, and offered our group a generous discount. Great service!! And the frozen custard was great!!'

Read the reviews and decided to stop in and give their menu a try. We are a family of six so I encouraged everyone to try something different. With that being said we had the original hamburger, double steak burger, fries, chili, and hotdog. Omg the hot dog was delicious on its own, loved the pickles in the original burger! The burger was fresh as was the toppings. Now the chili, I have had a few where I could not enjoy the chili because of it being too hot (spicy) or not flavorful but this bowl of chili was just right. Had it with cheese and onions and it was great. My husband added it to his burger and actually dipped his fries in it to finish off the heap of fries we got with the combo. Staff was friendly and asked if our food was cooked to order. I will definitely make this my #1 burger joint reminding you that in & out fell to #2. My girls insisted on trying the custard dirt n' worms and I wish I could have tried a spoonful but I was stuffed!

Hawaiian Delight ice cream! It reminds me of home...again. It was good because they actually have macadamia nuts like chunks of it. The toppings was good, but the ice cream is just like McDonald's kind. I didn't wanna spend a lot there, but it was pretty pricey anyways. My roommate order one of their meal that was with fries and a hot dog. It was interesting how they use a slice of bread as the hot dog bun. The fries were made fresh too. It was really thin and cute. It's similar to In-n-Out because it's made fresh when order.

Starting to like it more than In--n-Out...just saying...especially the fries!

We don't have these on the East Coast and we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the burgers. It is true that they have very thin burgers, then but they are delicious. We are in love with their excellent pickles, and their skinny fries were great too.

It's a alright burger I have had better and they got the order wrong by time I noticed too late to go back

For some pretty mediocre steak burgers, this place is pretty ridiculously expensive. I brought my girlfriend here for a quick lunch and to check it out, we ended up spending a lot more than we should have. Its not bad food by any means, its just.. mediocre and the price is not back upped. Their frozen custards are actually really delicious if you are willing to splurge a little bit. I got one called the turtle doves or something, pecans and caramel on it... delicious. The other thing I like is their fries. Pretty crispy and cut really thin. Pros: Frozen custards and fries Cons: everything else

    Awesome burgers

  • Bethie G.

Great custard, crappy burgers. The fries are garbage, don't waste your time with the dinky things. I had the patty melt which would make a great steak-burger. These things come out like hash on a bun, and far too salty to enjoy. Not worth any of it for the price.

  • Sarah Y.

Freddy's is a great guilty pleasure, so don't go there expecting a healthy meal. That said... their frozen custard is good, and their cheese fries are absolutely delicious. In fact, their cheese fries, and I am assuming their fries without cheese as well, are so good that I find myself having random cravings for them.

  • A. J.

Word of warning...if you want to taste the meat, order at least a double. We ordered "singles" and the meat was so thin it was barely there. The skinny fries were great! Adding to the let down, there had been a huge rain earlier in the day and the dining room had a big bucket where the roof was leaking. The parking lot is right next to a bus stop, so getting in and out of the lot meant waiting for many pedestrians taking the lot as a short cut and being in no particular hurry to get out of the way. Between a poor menu choice on my part and the other external factors (the leaky roof and the 'dodge the pedestrians' in the parking lot) I just don't see any reason to go back.

  • Chris S.

As mentioned previously, it's a lot like Culver's minus some of the more unique items Culver's offers. Just like Culver's the Frozen Custard is what makes the place. The burgers are super thin and greasy, not what I think of when I see the title steak burgers. Fries unremarkable... Still it wasn't bad for fast food.

  • Pearsey P.

I got the patty melt and thought it was pretty good. It was a tad greasy, but all patty melts are a tad greasy. The grilled onions on the patty melt are fun. I also got a chocolate custard with marshmallow topping and almonds. The almonds are sliced instead of chopped, which is kinda weird, but they make up for that by having marshmallow topping. A lot of places don't even have that. The only complaint really is the price. It was $10 for a patty melt and custard, which is an awful lot for the poor people of Flagstaff.

  • Jessica H.

I think I hyped myself up about the burger because everyone says it is so good here. The burger was good but not the best I have had, I would say Mama Burger has better burgers by far. I got the California burger and I would just rate it average, way better than a fast food burger (like McDonalds, Carl's Jr. or Burger King) but it was not what I had expected it to be. The prices were also a little high for the quality of food. I did order their custard though. It was REALLY good! I got a small banana which is pretty big for a small and it was soooo awesome. I would go back there a lot just for their custard!

    (3)
  • Ronald H.

This place is like a wannabe In-N-Out, except with higher prices and lousier food. The burgers are pounded completely flat, so that by default it hangs off the bun, and just tastes like grease. The string fries are meh. The frozen custard cement mixes aren't any more special than you could snag at Dairy Queen. Avoid.

Good fast food ice cream, bad burgers and fries..Would not go back

Steak burgers? Huh? Really? Beef jerky burgers is more like it! How does a slice of cheap cheese with a WAFER of meat cost $5.00? A SLIVER OF FLAT, BURNT, ABUSED, SMASHED, BI-POLAR MEAT! If you remove the bun and AMPLE lettuce stuffing, the patty is as thick as a human hair! I kid you not, try it! Wanting to give this place a chance, I tried the $4.00 Vienna Beef Premium Hot dog, well that sucks too! Dinky little weenie and you don't even get a real hot dog bun! Instead, you get a folded up hamburger bun. What the hell is that? Huh? What the hell is THAT? Who eats this chit? Not this dude! Bought a MEDIUM chocolate malt... ACTUAL SIZE: Piss cup. Ever piss in a piss cup for medical/legal reasons? Yep, that's the size of a MEDIUM shake. Price for the shake: $3 bucks! Are the shakes made with lobster nuts or what? I feel ripped off, wallet lighter and lonesome everytime I make the mistake of going here! Going to learn from my mistakes and never go back. Just buy a 10 pound package of ground beef and fixings and smash it yourself!

Havent been yet, but some folks kinda like it over quite a few others in the area. .. . online menu has pix that promise good things. Yelp makes you add stars even if you are merely informative.

Burgers and fries are great - hotdogs are mediocre. Service was really sloooow, but they gave us a free custard.
