Way over priced for what you get! Fish tacos were so dry! Not worth it at all. Won't be going back. Service was just as bad server never came around had to ask someone else for a refill on water

Dorados recently rennovated the old San Felipe building and it is way better than before. Food is great but the service is much improved. Can't wait to come back!

Awesome food and even better service, food was served extremely quick and our service was exceptional, thank you so much for the great service and friendly atmosphere Courtney!

Not the same as Southern California Mexican food but overall a fun atmosphere with good food

Courtney was our server. She was absolutely the best server I have had in quite some time. My traveling companions and I were headed back to our home state, Missouri, when we checked in to this restaraunt. After 15 minutes of being completely ignored by every server at Collins, their neighboring restaurant, we left and made way to Dorados where we were pleasantly greeted by Courtney. There was 5 minutes left until the kitchen closed and they went ahead and served us anyway. Kudos to the kitchen and an even greater thank you to Courtney for being so understanding and spectacular to us. Very much appreciated!

Had fajitas and a fish taco. chicken fajitas were average at best, not much flavor. Took quite a while to get food even though there were only 3 people in the restaurant. Waitress was nice but not great at serving, maybe she was new. Wouldn't go back for the food or service, wouldn't recommend.

Came in on Sunday 3/29/15. Was greeted by our friendly server Kayla. She promptly took our drink order which was 2 waters and 2 margaritas. She returned with our waters, and took our food order at this point. We were watching the bartender, Kirby, was his name I believe. Supposedly he is the interim restaurant manger of this establishment and bar manager. Our drink ticket printed out when Kayla got our waters for us, but the bartender ignored it. Some people (5 to be exact) came in that he obviously knew, and they were promptly served their drinks. All 5 of them. The actual restaurant and bar overall was not busy at all. When we watched our server ask the bartender about our drinks he said an inaudible statement and walked away from behind the bar, and went the side office towards the front. I literally watched the bartender sit down and get on his cell phone. When Kayla returned we asked her what the deal was with the bartender and or drinks. She had told us at that point that he was the manager/bar manager. She apologized and felt bad for not having our drinks sty this point, however, we explained no need to apologize on her part as we know the drink order had been places already and ticket printed. The bartender then came out of the office placing his phone back into his pocket and returned to the back of the bar. We were still talking with Kayla at this point and it was at that time of our food order came up to the window. The bartender then made our drinks. We got our food order at the same time we got our drinks. There did happen to be a gentleman at the bar by the name of Arturo. He came over and introduced himself has a restaurant consultant from Phoenix, and apologized for the drink mishap. He did comp our drinks for us after hearing about our issue. When we explained that we watch the bartender ignore our drink order and then go sit down in the office and get onto his cell phone... he explained that the bartender did get a call, but he was unsure of the nature of the call. The service from Kayla and the other server Anthony was absolutely great! The bartender service was absolutely horrible. I get that when you are a bartender you have friends that will come in and patronize your establishment. However work is work and social is social. There should not be a time when you're drinks come at the same time as your food. The only reason I am giving two stars on this review is because the service from Kayla and Anthony was great (not the bartender at all), and food was good portions. We both sincerely did appreciate the gesture by Arturo for the drinks and all of the effort by our servers Anthony and Kayla. What baffled us is that this suppose it bar manager/ manager of this establishment never even addressed the issue with us, or even came over to give us an apology at all. He just continue to laugh and joke with his friends that were seated at the bar. I do not feel in any way shape or form that is any kind of leadership I would want at a business I have. It clearly does not even set a good example for fellow employees. Thank you for those of you fellow yelpers that took the time to read all of this and I hope if you go here you have a better experience with bartender service than we did. Once again Kayla and Anthony were absolutely wonderful. Overall put it this way. If you're downtown Flag and walking by with nothing to do...the happy hour drink specials are good...However if you have the time to drive a little further East to Salsa Brava...get in the vehicle and go there.

Went for lunch with my hubby. What a great meal. I had grilled fish tacos and he had a chicken burrito. Great service. We were there on 2 4 1 Tuesday, great price. This place was great.

Went with a group of friends on Taco Tuesday. The waitress and manager were beyond friendly and helped me get a vegan option. Would go back again.

Wow, the bad reviews are so off the mark! Dorados is costal Mexico fare, so if you are looking for just chimichangas and beans, you should try something else. Now, if you love the food found in Puerto Penasco, and I mean the local food not just gringo style, you absolutely must try the offerings here. Ceviche and shrimp cocktails are my favorite and these are so good! Full of fish, shrimp, avocados, onions, and tomato juice concoction. You won't find shrimp cocktails like this anywhere north of the border. The best part is pouring in a beer once you've consumed all the big bits. (Real Mexico) the asada tacos rival those found on the Rocky Point streets. The grilled fish tacos are touted as some of the best I've ever tasted. The service is spot on and the atmosphere is a huge improvement from the previous establishment. Seriously, this is not a place to be missed if you know what good food is and aren't stuck in the wasteland of mediocre.

I'll start with the positive. The waitress was friendly. Their chips and salsa were tasty. Unfortunately, there are no more nice things to say. I knew we should have left when there were only a few people during happy hour. I had a Cadillac Margarita and I can say without a doubt it was the worst one I've ever had. It was extremely watery and the alcohol used tasted awful. Their dollar tacos...they should have paid me to eat them. They lacked flavor and meat!!! Someone in my party saw them using a microwave to heat up food. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you stay away.

This is a very decent place to go for a drink, and it has a very decent happy hour and some good staff. There is a nice variety of alcohol here, and they do make a mean margarita if that's your thing. The food menu is also pretty decent. Their shrimp tacos and veggie enchiladas are good. The quality of the food is ok, its not the freshest tasting stuff to me, but then again, this is basically a bar/restaurant so you shouldn't expect the highest quality food anyway. The customer service is ok. Like many other establishments, its very inconsistent and it depends on how crowded it is there and who it is. I came here for lunch recently and everything was fine, but when I came here for dinner on a Friday night, it was not as good despite there not being a crowd.

We found this little spot while strolling through Downtown Flagstaff. We had the steak fajitas and chile relleno with carne. Both dishes were awesome. They use quality meat for the steak fajitas and the carne that came with the chile relleno was so tender. We would definitely come here again. Great customer service and craft beer too!

The chips and salsa are delicious. If you like hot, spicy salsa, ask for theirs! It's intense! We tried the tacos both carnitas and shredded beef, and the bean burrito with melted cheese on top--all were delicious. We also really liked the sides of rice and refried beans. The deep fried ice cream was amazing! The service was friendly and the ambience is rustic and very clean. Plus, the prime location downtown is perfect. You can shop, bar hop, and eat. 5 star!

Fun atmosphere. Great service. Food? Well, it reminds me of a mix between a seafood taco place like Sandbar and Rubios. Like let's say you wanted a place like Rubios, but wanted to have people serve you, I would choose this place. As an avid avocado fan, I was surprised to find an AVOCADO MARGARITA. Before you get grossed out all you non-avocado aficionados, it tasted like an avocado smoothie. It could almost even be healthy, but there was tequila in it. I could barely taste the tequila since avocados are so rich themselves in flavor (or maybe the pessimistic view - there wasn't much tequila). I'll forewarn you though. If you plan on eating alot or drinking anything else, this avocado margarita is a stomach space taker. The reason I think there was still a decent amount of tequila in the avocado margarita was because my husband's fishbowl drinks packed a punch. They were strong and they were cheap during happy hour. It was kind of fun having drinks served in fish bowls. I actually drank some of his drinks to help get my avocado margarita down since it was so thick. Bottom line, yay for drinks!

While in Flagstaff I convinced my dad to ditch my brothers freshman orientation and watch the game at a bar. We ended up here simply because we parked across the street. The service was excellent. There was only one server and the bartender but they both did an excellent job at making sure we had what we needed. I didn't eat anything other than the chips and salsa which were great. I will definitely come by here again next time we're in Flagstaff.

We came here for the fish tacos on taco Tuesday and they didn't disappoint. The happy hour margaritas were pretty delicious as well.

Decided to give this place a try as to try something different. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this establishment. I had the shredded chicken burrito, deep fried with green chile enchilada style. I tore the whole thing up. It was delicious, compliments to the chef. My wife and mother both had the tacos and enjoyed then immensely. My son and nephew had the burger and the Carne Asad torta, no complaints. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is I had ordered an appetizer but never received it. Atmosphere was great and owner approached at the end of the meal and was really nice, thanking us for coming. We'll definitely be back.

Many changes to the restaurant have resulted in fantastic food and new hand-crafted drinks. Cucumber or Jalapeño Margaritas are a must-have. The Green Chili bowl is amazing, as well as the new Pollo Fundido. Taco Tuesday's here are phenomenal as well. You just can't beat the location paired with $1 tacos.

Got there after most of lunch hit. Great unpretentious Mexican; we each had one of their customizable burritos, my wife the red sauce and me the green. Awesome food. Parking in the nearby underground garage is really the way to go in this downtown Flagstaff eatery.

This restaurant defines a new genre of awful. The rice was half cooked and tasted like it came out of a ricearoni box. The black beans had that same gritty taste as they would if they came out of the can. I had a fish taco which was supposed to be a staple. The fish was lukewarm and the sauce horridly disappointing. The corn tortillas were the saddest part of the experience. They were cooked but left out to the elements and were cold. I had to scoop my tacos out of the tortilla because eating the taco was hurting my jaw. This was not coastal eating only a horrible imitation. The atmosphere is depressing. Its sparsely decorated and had tons of patched up areas that were rather obvious. Eating here is a horrid experience. I went on a Saturday at 12:30 and there was no one in here. That should have been the hint.

Fried FISH TACOS are a MUST! Every time I've came in, The fish tacos never disappoint! The service was okay this time! We sat at the bar and the bartender on never helped us (and didn't even hear half our order so we had to wait) but everyone else that came up to us was awesome! We'll be back again.

I had a shredded chicken burrito with black beans, jalapeno, sour cream, pico and guac. The chicken tasted like it was pulled from the bone and was delicious. The jalapenos were super spicy. The only thing I wish I had done was order more sour cream. The beer came in a huge mug I couldn't finish. The staff was very friendly, especially since we had our toddler with us who spilled her juice everywhere. Our two year old loved the chicken fingers and fries, which says a lot because she is a very picky eater. I felt comfortable at Dorados Coastal Mexican Grill, and I'd definitely visit again. I liked that it wasn't overcrowded and relaxed, this was surprising for a Friday night.

Not the typical mexican restaurant, looked more like a bar but the food is what will keep me coming back. The kids split a combination plate and loved everything and I took a gamble on Shrimp & Grits and was BLOWN away! Grits were amazing and the shrimp was flavored perfect and not overly done. Chips and salsa killed it and the HOT salsa I asked for was STELLAR. Can't wait to go again when I stay up there

We had the mimosa special on Sunday ($2) and were pleasantly surprised they were 75% champagne! Also had the chicken tacos and fried fish tacos and they were really good (love the Baja sauce). Service was quick and friendly! We'll be back!

This review is for the nightlife at Dorados- we didn't eat anything. On a saturday night a bunch of us went bar hopping downtown. dorados was our 3rd stop. They had an open area for dancing & a DJ. We were able to get drinks from the bar with minimal wait & proceeded to dance. This place had a fun atmosphere everyone was having a good time. the other bars we went to earlier were fine but this was more like a club, which is what we liked. To add in on the fun- it was pride weekend & quite a few characters got up on the bartop to pole dance. The crowd here was awesome! Our group ended up changing bars again, but after 15 min at the dark & dingy monte vista bar, my husband & i peeled off from our group & finished the night dancing back at Dorado's. Next time we will have to try the food!

I was really excited to try some new Mexican food in Flag, but I was very disappointed in this place. When we got there, it was pretty empty... Should've been the first sign. The presentation was awesome though, so I held out hope. Pretty soon, the poor service and bland food ruined whatever hope I had left. I'll be sticking to La Fonda for my Mexican food in flagstaff.

Visiting Flagstaff and decided to pop in for what we expected to be a very good Mexican lunch. We eat in a lot of different Mexican restaurants in Phoenix and they are pretty awesome. This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. The food was bland and I had to look twice to see my taco it was so small. We will not be returning to this place. Way overpriced, poor quality food but good service from the server. I will add that we did not have bar drinks so I cannot comment on those.

I came in for a Michelada as it was on sale on a Sunday for $5. The drink was served in a large beer mug and they gave you whatever beer they couldn't fit from the bottle.

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a meal and was treated to a really good time. This place is a lot of fun to be in and the service here was excellent! Our server was Lex but unfortunately she won't be there much longer. She gave us incredible service and really good conversation and advice about things in town. I ordered the fish tacos and they had really good flavor and were very filling, especially when chased with one of their margaritas!

Don't usually write reviews but I feel I should warn people- do not eat here. The oysters were bad and made me sick... I only ate 3. They were bone dry and very fishy smelling. The bathroom floor had puddles of water or what I hope was water. Not a good experience.

Dorado's has an awesome happy hour - two for one drinks and half off appetizers. For a college student, it was great. However, I frequently had problems with their drinks. I ended up having to watch them each time they made my drink because they would just not put any alcohol in it at all. The first time I pointed it out, I was rudely told "Uhmmm, no. I watched her pour it myself. There's tequila in it." After drinking the only margarita mix margarita I watched the bar pour my next drink - and saw that they didn't put any tequila in it. When I caught her as she was coming back to the table, she laughed and played it off as a mistake. Definitely not a mistake. I wouldn't want to eat real food there, every surface is sticky and it just looks kind of like a dirty place. Maybe because of the stripper poles on the bar? Maybe. Not sure (yes). The state of the wait staff also makes me uncomfortable, they are all young females with very short booty shorts. Once a waitress bent over in front of my friends and I to pick something up, and her butt was hanging out. Disgusting! Another reason why I won't eat real food there. On top of it, the only thing I've ever seen on TV there are NFL cheerleader try outs, beauty pageants and the like. I don't want to see nearly naked girls dancing and shaking their ass when I'm trying to enjoy a few drinks with my friends. As a young female myself, it makes me incredibly uncomfortable and offended. However, if you want to spend $3 on a margarita (buy one get one!) this is the place to go. Ever since Cafe Ole closed down this is the cheapest place I've found for happy hour margaritas.

Was way too crowded tonight. I got an elbow to the chest and had my feet stepped on. As well as being shoved into a chair at the bar. Kind of got our group a little mad. Bare tenders were great and security was doing great job. Other than that that's the only thing that bothered me.

Went here because the reviews seemed ok. Food was not good. Fish tacos couldn't finish, nachos sent back because the beans were dry and super salty the got a chicken quesadilla thinking you can't go wrong but yep it was super dry. Server was nice but would not go back.

Stopped in with a colleague for Wings Wednesday. Glad we did, 1/2 price wings all day. Y'all get a choice of Hot, Buffalo, Italian Gold or BBQ. We rocked Italian gold, 2x and it was well worth it. Great downtown deal, especially on Thursdays.

Stopped in to check out new management. The giant shrimp cocktail is still the best in town! Service very good. The only thing we would recommend is change the music to more of a beach vibe.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
