We went here looking for a nice Japanese restaurant. I called and made a reservation before hand just to be sure we could get a table. I am glad I called ahead, I didnt see a bare table anywhere. When we arrived we were seated in a special vip section. We were in a private booth with a mini tv in it, nice touch! The night only got better as it went on. I ordered a fruity green drink just for a nice buzz. It came in a cool samurai porcelain glass that I was able to keep, score! I ordered chicken and it was magnificent.

House Soup & Spring Rolls were Delish! Sushi Rolls were Ok. I'm use to seeing Sushi Rolls come out on such neat dishes like little boats and stuff. The simple white plate was disappointing. But yea they tasted ok :-[

Not a huge fan. Waited 30 plus mins to get sushi when only 3 tables where seated. Sushi was okay looking and mediocre. Reviews for 2013/2014 seemed good enough to try. Maybe somethings different about 2015. Probably won't be coming back. 1 star for food that didn't make me sick. 1/2 star for ok service. 1/2 for cleanliness. No other stars for happy greeting, timely food prep, or food quality.

My wife and I are regulars here. We have tried several other Japanese restaurants in Mobile, but Shogun is the better choice. We usually sit to the right when you walk in, which is the sushi bar area. Service @ the sushi bar is much faster. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I like there speciality rolls, I have tried all of them!!! Recently we tried the appetizer sampler which was good. I do recommend you go a little early for dinner. They do get busy and overwhelmed which means the food will take a little longer. But knowing this in advance really doesn't bother me. Enjoy!

This is by far my family's favorite go to sushi restaurant. We love it. Everything is so good there. We love their sushi and the hibachi. We have never had a disappointing experience in the 2 years we have lived here in Mobile.

This place is awesome!!! We come here several times in the 2 weeks we are in Mobile. The Hibachi is great and the cooks are always very good and entertaining. They give you lots of food for your money. I always look forward to coming here.

My husband and I are regulars here. We have never had a disappointing meal since eating here. The only thing I would comment about is staffing. Most of the servers are great, last couple of times, there are new ones that weren't as attentive. We still highly recommend this place because it is delicious!

Tried Sake for the first time and I loved it! I was a bit thrown off that it was HOT but I enjoyed it regardless. I tried the dragon and spicy crawfish rolls...Delish! Great atmosphere

Ask for the Korean menu, and give the Kalbi a try! This place is relatively expensive, but portions are big enough for sharing.

I've eaten here a few times over the years, but it had been a while until last night. I was a little scared based on the spotty reviews on Yelp, wondering if the place had gone downhill. I've always had a good experience here - both food and service. Last night was no exception. Our large group ordered an array: sushi, hibachi steak, scallops, shrimp and chicken. Everything was delicious, including the seafood (which I am a known snob of). They load you up on carbs - you get fried rice AND some yummy noodles. Brought home a ton of leftovers - which is typical for these hibachi places. So you really get your money's worth because you get 2 meals for the price of 1. I would definitely go back!! Always entertaining to watch the chefs wield their fire and knives.

Get the chef that does the magic tricks...he is so AWESOME. We ask for him every time. Great with kids at your table and the adults! Th soup is good ( we add a drop of soy) - salad is perfect. Plenty to eat (always want more rice).. I put the YUM YUM sauce on everything!!

Lunch is delicious and fair priced. Never been for dinner. I really enjoy their sashimi, as it is always fresh and comes with miso soup and a wonderful cucumber salad.. it's the perfect gift to myself during a hard work week. Today I ventured out and order the hibachi vegetable and my dad got the chicken. Both meals were good.. a little on the greasy side which is usually the case with hibachi meals. Again, very large portions. The lunch hibachi meal comes with noodles, fried rice and your choice of either soup or salad. The atmosphere is hip and clean and the presentation of food is always eye catching. While the the service is average, it's most often all together a decent experience.

Your sushi depends on which sushi chef is available at the time. At times your sushi can be wonderful, while other times it can be mediocre. Regardless, it's always fresh and clean. Service tends to fall down hill as the restaurant gets busier. But what I enjoy is that the hibachi and sushi are separated into two wings of the restaurant. Therefore, when you go eat sushi, you don't come out smelling like hibachi. But out of all of the hibachi grills in Mobile, I would recommend Shogun, because it appears to be well ventilated. Mikato's is awful. You have to go home and take a bath following dinner to avoid the stench.

Probably the best Hibachi place in Mobile. It's not as upscale as Stix, but the food is good.

Been several times hoping it was just bad luck. Hibachi is passable as such but only barely. Sushi is awful and always tastes "gamey" and "fishy" which, as anyone that eats sushi knows" this isn't right. I've given their fair share of chances and won't do it again

Best hibachi joint ever! Great quality, and twice the quantity for the same price. Sam was awesome. Sushi was really good too. Can't wait to come back. Wonderful atmosphere, definitely worth the hour drive from Biloxi.

I USED to LOVE Shogun, but recently their service and food has been AWEFUL. Their service sucks. The waitresses are so slow and they always have that "I don't want to be here" look. If you do not want to work there, then quit! I was there trying to have a good time with my friends, but the waitress was giving us an attitude and it was really annoying. My friends and I always chose Shogun as our goto sushi spot, but they have been changing sushi chefs every weekend and it is just not the same anymore. The sushi is just not good, and trust me ..I am a BIG sushi fan. I'm looking for another goto sushi spot now. To conclude ...DO NOT go to Shogun.

One of the better Hibachi restaurants in Mobile that doesn't have an obnoxious owner. The food is good but very inconsistent. This is expected with the many different chefs at the grills. The saving grace of the restaurant is their sushi bar. Cool, friendly sushi masters that were very knowledgeable of their craft. Some of the better rolls available in town and some of the freshest fish you'll find in the area. Kind of pricey but that's expected at Hibachi and sushi restaurants. My clear favorite in town.

This is nice place to eat with friends. I usually just eat Hibachi and you cannot go wrong here. I have never had a bad experience here. The prices and comparable to other restaurants of this specialty.

I love Shogun it was so clean, but the waitress was a bit slow. Waitress kept glasses filled. The chef was a little slow coming to the Hibachi grill to cook the food but when he got there it was awesome. Great time to converse with my daughter, it was a lovely lunch outing. I had sushi and it was so fresh and tasty my daugther almost out ate me. Good food, little slow with service, very clean even the bathrooms. Try it for your self.

Shogun is our go-to neighborhood sushi restaurant. The sushi is always super fresh. I've only had the hibachi once but it was great too. It's a bit more expensive than Bamboo which is right around the corner but I think it's worth the extra few bucks.
