Great atmosphere! Be prepared for a lot of food when you order. Come hungry and you'll still leave with a to-go box. Seafood bisque is out of this world good. Order the red pepper paste with the hummus...gives it a great kick!

Hubby and I decide to try Ollie's for dinner. Ashetin was our waitress and she was fantastic. I am surprised to see such poor reviews for service, because EVERYONE was kind to us and we were well taken care of! Now to the food...the lentil soup was incredible. I know I will be going back for that one! I ordered a Shish Kabob wrap and it was delicious! Hubby got a gyro with fries. He was raving about the seasoning on the meat and absolutely LOVED the fries. The incredible thing is on Monday's they have buy one get one free on the sandwiches, so we opted to duplicate our order and take sandwiches home with us for lunch tomorrow. Very affordable dinner menu. You have the option of dining inside or out and with the cooler weather I can see the patio filling up.

I just had the absolutely worst experience I've EVER had at a restaurant in my life. This being a real event is appalling to me. A few of my friends and I decided to visit Ollies on a Wednesday night, and were only 1 of 3 tables in the entire restaurant. One of my friends decided they wanted to order a beer but all he had was his floppy ID because his hard copy hadn't come in since he renewed. The waitress told him he couldn't use a floppy ID to order alcohol and that if he had an expired old ID that would work. (Uh what? An expired ID would work just because it was a hard copy?) As bad as this sucked, it was not a huge deal and he understood. HOWEVER, the waitress said that if he happened to have another form of ID or a birth certificate, that he would be able to order alcohol. Well, since we had already ordered and were going to be there for awhile, he decided to drive all the way home and acquire his birth certificate (mostly because the waitress was very rude and he thought it was funny he would be able to get one anyways). After he made the trip and came back with his valid birth certificate, 5 or 6 cards with his name on them, a school ID with his name and photo AND his floppy copy of his drivers license, the server got the manager who came out and said they could still not serve him. We were appaled and explained to the manager that the server specifically told him a birth certificate would be a valid option, so he drove all the way home and got one while we ordered because she said that would be fine, knowing we would be stuck there no matter what. The manager responded with an "oh well" attitude and the server stood behind her smirking as if she had won some type of war. While this is happening, the server lied to her manager and said she never said a birth certificate would work. This made me angry and I called her out and told her she knew that wasn't true, she eventually admitted she may have "accidentally" mentioned a birth certificate. After all of this, we never ONCE received an apology from the waitress, not even an admittance that she had done something wrong. She kept sarcastically coming by our table, checking on us with a very snarky tone and walking away smiling and rolling her eyes. This kept us very angry but even through ALL of this, we never told her she wouldn't be tipped or threatened to walk out or said anything rude. The only thing we did was tell her no, we weren't okay when she checked on us every 45 seconds sarcastically. So now, after being lied to, treated rudely and never receiving an apology, we asked for our checks. Another one of my friends who wasn't even involved in the altercation paid with a $100 bill (this being the only cash he had), I also paid with cash and she took nearly 15 minutes to come back with our change. Even through all of this and being extremely angry, I had started to calm down and being a server myself, knew how tough the job could be and planned on still leaving her a fair tip. When she did finally bring back our change, she returned and handed my friend his change in mostly low bills and all his coins in pennies and nickles, and my change in ALL pennies and nickles. This took our anger over the line and we ended up leaving her only the pennies. In my entire life, I've been treated very badly by servers, had horrible service and have even had servers cuss at me. NEVER have I ever stiffed a waitress and given her only pennies; however, she continously provoked us until we angrily left the restaurant leaving her only the pennies to scrounge up. I should also mention, the friend who paid with a $100 is an insanely high tipper and we are all regulars to this restaurant and visit frequently. This is the LAST time I will ever visit Ollie's again. I am amazed this type of service exists, and on a night when the restaurant was usually busy, it was completely empty. I now see why this was the case. Not only did they lose my business (a regular who comes here weekly, sometimes more than once a week), they lost the business of all of us AND all of our friends who come here on all regular basis, sometimes in groups of up to 20. This restaurant and our server are a disgrace. I suggest you do not waste your time eating at Ollie's, let alone stepping your foot in their sad excuse for an establishment. P.S. I've been here multiple times and seen them not ID kids that are CLEARLY underage. I am sending a formal complaint to the ABC board and letting them know this restaurant serves to minors on a regular basis.

I came here with a group of friends to smoke some hookah and drink a few brews. One of my friends has been having difficulty with the DMV in getting the hard copy of his DL being sent to his house. This being said, all he had was the floppy copy, which was expired, they give you and several other things with his name. After being denied for his lack of identification he went home to get his birth certficate. Which, mind you, the server said would make him able to drink. So he went all the way home to get his birth certificate and came back and then the manager came and still denied him service. The waitress not once apologized for the miscommunication on the matter, nor was this place even busy enough for ABC to even want to come up here and try to bust someone for having every form of ID but a valid DL. This place used to be great, but the new choice of management is utter shit. I guess this must be why the place is empty. Nonetheless, they have served me drinks here multiple times without asking for an ID and i look like a 14 year old boy. Sooo... Oh, and to top it all off i paid with a $100 bill and i guess she took it as insult and brought me the coin change in pennies and nickels. As if this was some sort of war or something. I dont see how you come out on top here, you just lost five regulars over an apology.

Not as good as the mobile location but still amazing. The hummus, gyros, and salads are always great! The Red Rooster is one of my favorites. So happy we're adding some variety to the food choices in the area at an affordable price.

Not the best. Our server seemed frustrated. Apparently the owner has a bunch of weird rules that make their job difficult. I was astonished to see Mjudera (lentils, cracked wheat & onions) selling for 12.95 when the dish costs pennies to make. The kibbeh was good but a tad on the greasy side. The hookah was not worth a mention or the 12.95. Sorry guys, Texas rules! This place does a disservice to the Middle Eastern culture which is normally hospitable and inviting.

Stay away at all costs. Took the girlfriend here for dinner a while back. Service was almost worse than the food. Our meals consisted of what looked like chicken but had more lemon in it than actual meat. Neither of us touched the food and when asked for a manager to talk to was told there was none. Food wasn't even worth taking home to feed to the dog. Complete waste of 30$. What kind of Mediterranean themed eatery doesn't have gyro meat?

Customer service rates is 0. quality the hookah rating0. I have been to many hookah bars and I have never seen a hookah like the one that I was brought when I sat down the waitress asked what we would like to drink I said I would like to start with the hookah she said no I'm taking the drink order now the hookah menus in front of you what do you want to drink. what I told her the book of land that I wanted she said we don't have women were always out of it what else would you like. if I could rate this place a - 0 I would. so who said that she brought me the coals were not even ready they were still half on birth on the bottom. No way to adjust the air flow. It's one of the cheapest hookahs that you could possibly have. I would not recommend this place for anyone. Prices are overpriced customer service is horrible stay away its a - 0

Trying to find dinner after 10 PM ended up more of a challenge than I expected; that's where Olive's came to the rescue. Easily found a spot in their lot, figured out the location of the front door, and was greated by a lovely and frieareasndly bartender. Ordered the humus topped with chicken and a side of pita, and enjoyed the lovely meal. Probably one of the best pitas that I have tasted.

Imagine a club that plays great music and glowing lights. Now picture that with a bunch of tables and chairs. You can't dance, but your dinner entree will sure be a party. Several dinner parties here were celebrating something special and you can tell this place was dedicated to cater to those celebrations. Another bonus was the aroma of the restaurant. It might be overwhelming in previous places I've been to but this restaurant somehow manages to air it out correctly. The moment you enter the restaurant, you can breathe a pleasant smoky air that is just enough to appreciate, but never to the extent you need to race for your inhaler. The food is delicious. I ordered the shish kabob (which wasn't lamb), but that didn't deter from the flavors. Mixed with the grilled vegetables, it was salty, meaty, juicy, tasty, and combination. The Vampire Pinot Noir compliments this perfectly. I got lentil soup as a side soup. It was not the portion of a side but it was good.

Stopped by for lunch this week...twice! The hummus is amazing and chicken shawarma added on top takes it to a whole new level. The Caesar salad was amazingly fresh and dressed perfectly. The beef gyro was delicious with tender beef and a flavorful yogurt sauce and feta. Service was also very good and quick, will definitely be back soon!!

Love this place. Probably my favorite place to eat in Mobile. Food is great. Never had a bad experience. Lentil soup, Greek salad, grape leaves, everything is good. Ppl are always nice and I really love the atmosphere at the midtown location, though this one is closer to me.

Hands down one of my favorite places to eat. The food is AWESOME with reasonable prices. Their only hang up is that the service is always really slow and bad. However, once you get your food, it's great.

Try the shish kabobs! This place is a great late night option if you're dining a little later. The patio is really nice too in cooler weather

Pass this one. It seems to be set up for a night club - there are strobe lights and such. There are also signs at the entrance warning of appropriate clothing. Right away I knew this sort of place was not for me. The service was past awful. I had to freshen my own water 2x. Since nothing on the menu was to my liking I just ordered Hummus, which was like we make at home. It was fresh and the lemon was just right. My companion had a salad that looked quite good and a veggie wrap that also looked OK, but it took over an hour to get it. I feel a bit sorry for Ollie's. They are in that old building right at the loop that has been many different things over the years. You can park there, but you can never get out. "Hotel California". If you insist on wasting two hours over a bowl of mashed beans, park at the Pizza Hut across the street.

My wife and I are traveling west from FL and stopped overnight in Mobile AL. We use Yelp regularly for non-chain eateries wherever we end up. Tonight we found Ollie's on Hillcrest. As devotees of Middle Eastern food for too many years to remember we were very pleased with the food and especially the service at the bar, where we prefer to sit, from Twista, no not a spelling error nor a bad spelling parent, but a mispronounced Kristin by a four year old. We ordered the Kafta app and the Baba Ghanouj. Both arrived as expected with fresh homemade pita. The Kafta was four football shaped meats with spices hot inside. The Baba was an excellent presentation of the smokey eggplant made into the creamy dip. Needless to say we were very happy and tried the baklava. While the pastry was fine the sauce was too sweet. All in all an excellent eatery. Worthy of five stars, which we don't give easily. Enjoy it when in Mobile.

With some time to kill before a New Year's Eve party, and not wanting to fight a crowd for a quick drink, Ollie's turned out to be the perfect stop. We walked in, sat at the bar, and had drinks sitting in front of us straightaway. Our bartender was in good spirits and friendly, props to him because who really wants to be working during the holiday? We enjoyed an order of hummus and pita while we sipped our drinks. While I can't comment on the food too much being we only had a nibble, I can say it is a good place to grab an appetizer and glass of wine!

This is one of my go-to places for nights I don't want to cook. The food perhaps not the best Mediterranean food around but it is good and consistent. When we dine in the service is always great even when try are busy. I really enjoy sitting on their patio when the weather is nice. It is a great place for date night or with a group.

This was my first time dining here and this experience was fine. It was a weekday, so it was't as busy as i've seen weekend traffic there. They have a nice variety of food choices. I tried the Chicken grilled wrap. It was great tasting and nice in size to fill me up. They have quite a few more wraps i would like to try. Besides the wraps, the menu had pizzas, burgers, and lamb/steak/shrimp/chicken entrees. I'm sure you can find something here that will suit your taste-buds.

The food used to be the bomb but is going down in quality. I once would have given the service and food 5 stars but they now only get a 3 star and are slipping to a 2 star. Really a shame!

I passed this place while driving through town, they were pretty crowded. I made a note to myself to try them for myself. It was a pleasant experience. I went during lunch time, and the place was cute and quaint. I was seated very quickly and my order was taken just as quick. I ordered the Chicken Ceasar Wrap with fries. I was quite pleased with my choice. The ingredients were fresh and very tasty. This was a perfect lunch on a very hot summer day!!!!

I'm a big fan of Mediterranean food and this is one of the best places in Mobile. The hummus appetizer was tasty, big portion with fresh pita. I got the chicken ceaser wrap with french fries for an entree, another large portion so I couldn't finish it all but it was very good. Great decor and ambiance, service was fast and friendly. Overall a very good place, would definitely recommend.

Well, 2 years ago the quality was going downhill as my family members noticed as well...but unlike ZEA, I guess the owner actually gave a da** and did something about it...they made it BETTER! Went back about 18 months ago, and was very much impressed with the better quality food (yes I know its still not Jerusalem Cafe), but the location, atmosphere, and service are very VERY good. The menu is very diverse and everything is good portioned and filling. Only negative is the parking can be VERY tight especially after 5pm...but they are open til 2 am!

My Husband and I were passing through Mobile, and stopped by Starbucks for a coffee, and my husband asked an employee where a good restaurant was located in the area, and she gave us several, and one was "Ollie's" so we arrived for lunch at 12:40 on 5/6/13, walked in, waited about 2 minutes to be seated, which was no problem, but one of the 2 waitress grabbed 2 menu's, never greeted us,never looked us in the eye, but rolled her eyes, and she had a painful look on her face, and said "Follow me" she placed the menu's down, and said "someone will be with you". She treated us like we were UNWANTED! We sat down, looked at each other, and was trying to figure out her problem. The other waitress finally greeted us, after we sat there 7 minutes, and seemed friendly, then took our drink order. We looked over the menu, sat there 10 minutes, never got our drinks, she proceeded to pace around slowly, as the other waitress did, like they didnt want to be there.Well neither did we! so we left! I was also bothered by a plain greek salad for $8.95 on the menu, that 'ONLY' included lettuce, tomato, onions, olives, & peppers, and if you wanted "Feta Cheese" is was $ 2.50 extra! $11.45 ? REALLY? I wonder how much for chicken to be added? This was Lunch! I will be suprised if this restaurant last! I sure hope they have a better dinner staff! I also plan to call the manager and inform on the poor actions of the employee's of that particular day! I'm still shaking my head as I'm writing this.......Unbelievable! I wanted Falafel & Hummis real bad! Glad to be back in Atlanta, where there are an array of real Mediterranean Food!

I have lived in Mobile just under a year, and just recently tried this place out. From the outside it seems like just a bar, but the inside decor surprised us. It has a nice decor on the inside, and it a restaurant with only a small bar. The food was some of the best I had in Mobile. The prices are low and the portions are generous. I ordered the Chicken Tawook which is a Chicken Kabob, but it is just not on a skewer. The meal was around $15, and included 2 sides and a cup of soup. Everything I had, even the side vegetables, tasted super good. If you pass this place, it seems like a sports bar, but I urge you to try this place. i am hooked! My sister and I have been back 3 times already for dinner, and we have tried a new thing every time and have yet to be disappointed. Plus, we have had good service every time which in Mobile is RARE. The only small gripe I have is that parking can get a little hard during peak hours, but it is worth the hassle. This place is a Mobile gem in my opinion. Also, it has a side patio, and a wide range of Hookah since this is a Arabic / Mediterranean restaurant.

Love this place! I have had lunch here several times and just love the food. The lentil soup is one of my obsessions, not sure why. It reminds me of hummus soup if there were such a thing. I have tried the chicken and beef wraps (don't remember their real name) and they are delicious. I always eat on the side patio and have never ordered the pizza or burgers from their menu, I always want something a little more adventurous. This place always looks hopping at dinner time but I've never had dinner at Ollies.
