Had the spaghetti and daughter had the Brother's Lasagna. Both excellent and big portions, great value. Lots on the menu to try, so I will be coming back! Worth a try for sure IMO.

Good pizza, but overpriced and takes forever to be served. Call ahead if you're planning on eating there!

What happened to the Gambinos?! I remember growing up, this family name was a well known and happening restaurant to bring your entire family in the 80s and 90s. I ordered the Chicken Marsala. It was not good at all! It was like two chicken fats floating in boxed wine with sticky flour clumped on it. $13 for chicken noodle soup was more like it. Where was the staff?? I think the waiter took our order and cooked the food! After several years avoiding this place, I took another shot and now I remembered why I never came back. I'm done with this place...

My sister and I go to South Alabama University, and saw this place when driving to school, and decided to give it a try for lunch. You order at a counter, and the lady brings out your food. It is similar to like a Sbarro's in price and quality. It is yummy food, for cheap, but not the most amazing Italian you have ever had. My sister and I liked it because their lunch specials are super cheap. For $8 you get a pasta dish, bread sticks, and a drink. Plus, you can add a house salad for $1.99 so not too bad. f you are on campus and looking for a quick, cheap bite to eat, I recommend this place. If you are looking to get a really nice night out with quality Italian food, you may want to cruise over to Via Emilia, as Gambino Brothers is super casual.

Service was very friendly..longer we sat there I noticed the main guy knew his customers by name and their drink orders by heart too. Many takeout orders came and went..busy ...I got the trio $14-lasagna -spaghetti- Alfredo- all good. DH got chicken Marsala $13...too bland for him. Included free bread sticks but salad was extra. Our bill total with tip $44 ..that included 1coke-1 tea 2 above dishes and bread...no salad....was priced a bit high at night...wish we had tried it out during the better lunch prices. Not open Sat for lunch or Sunday at all.

This place is humble in appearance but great food. Its usually run by one guy so don't expect fast service but the food is excellent. Its Real Italian. The Pesto is Fresh and Garlicky.

This is a very small restaurant and often pretty quiet inside, though they do offer karaoke on certain evenings. The prices are reasonable, the breadsticks are soft and buttery, and I really enjoy the chicken alfredo here. I have a hard time finding alfredo sauce just the way I like it, but Gambino's has both the right rich flavor and thicker texture (watery sauce ruins the dish). My husband has tried the eggplant parmesan and a huge muffaletta and enjoyed both.

Just because you have an Italian name doesn't make it so. Bruschetta is light and fresh, with tomatoes, garlic and basil. Not a piece of crappy bread smeared with their idea of pesto and smothered in melted cheese. The rest of meal sucked too. They don't even have a decent Cianti. You would be better off with a frozen pizza or Pizza Hut.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
