Pros: The pizza was actually quite good. We had a double cheese and mushroom that wasn't greasy at all. I had a chef salad that was enough for two and tasted very fresh and lite. The eating area was very clean. I even checked out the corners. No dirt. Cons: The table clothes were the cheap plastic most of which had some holes. Its kind of confusing if you order at the table or at the desk. Its the latter, by the way. Although the food was better than average, $7 for a 8 inch pizza was more than I expected. Conclusion: Very nice little pizza place with friendly people that I don't think will be there in a year. In the meantime, you should give it a try.

This place has good food and it's being run by good people. I hope their poor location doesn't work against them. Definitely my favorite pizza place in the area. Encourage your friends to eat there!

Traveling in area and followed yelp tip. Great hospitality and great pizza. Sauce was not over sweet, fresh baked crust and hand cut toppings. Topped off evening with the hand dipped ice cream. Great experience

So one night we went to a place near Reyes to shop. And I was FAMISHED! I saw reviews for this place were pretty good, so we decided to give it a shot. I want to say first, that the staff was VERY friendly. They were truly nice people and were very accommodating. The first very small issue was we wanted artichoke hearts. After a few minutes of waiting, we found out they were out. No big deal. But still somewhat disappointing. As we were waiting for our pizza, we were reading through the reviews. We read one about the crust of the pizza not being that good. And once we got home, I tended to agree. If pizza to you is all about the crust, this may not be your pizza. But everything else was really good. They took the extra time to make sure the cheese was perfectly melty and browned. The topping were plentiful, and the sauce ratio was good. Overall it was a good pizza. But note, I was beyond hungry. Frozen pizza from the grocery is really good when I am at that point too. Not to say, any thing here was not made fresh. But I am a pretty big crust person myself. So with that aspect, I wanted better. But if you are one who is all about the cheese and toppings, this could be a 5 star experience. Overall, I will go back and try some of their other things. Especially since we really liked the staff and feel of the place.

I'm quite surprised at such a high rating. I was anticipating the pizza at this place, and unfortunately was sorely disappointed. Maybe I had my expectations too high, but pretty much nothing about this pizza was memorable. I felt like they bought a Red Baron from Walmart and heated it up in the back. To me, the crust makes a pizza. And this crust was subpar. Maybe the ice cream is phenomenal. Or maybe these people have never eaten at any other pizzeria.

It is located in a deserted plaza in a slightly remote area of Irondale. The outside looks scary and intimidating, but inside, a delightful Mexican family greets you and ushers you in. The 'mother' who serves as the cashier is the sweetest little lady you'll run into. The 'father' misunderstood a request I had with the pizza and ended up handing me 20 to-go menus. I had asked for marinara sauce. The $18 large pesto supreme pizza is supreme and all pesto. It's a different take on pesto as I tasted lots of spices. Fortunately, it never gets to the level of spicy that you can't go on. The interior is run-down but reeks of a family-friendly simple pizza parlor. I wanted to give this place a lower rating but you can't help to smile at this delightful family. I almost wanted them to take me home. Refrigerator Test: Because this is some seriously thick pizza, be sure to move the slices around or the crust below will get stuck to the box. The pesto flavor and thick layers of cheese are still around by the time you make it to the last piece.

One of my favorite pizza places. I think if it was in a key location it would be packed most of the time. Family owned with great service!

We went there for Lunch today and the pizza is excellent! Not your run of the mill, fast food pizza at all! Very good crunchy crust, not too thin or thick and lots of cheese. I am a pizza guy and I work in Irondale so when I saw their sign I had to stop in. I'm very glad I did.

Absolutely the best pizza! It's amazing!! This has become my favorite pizza place - not just in Birmingham but anywhere. Can't say enough good things about their food. The pizza, the salads, they're all wonderful. And the Reyes are such nice people too! You've gotta try Reyes'.

This is a terrific family-owned restaurant with smiling family members everywhere you look. Delicious pizza with a rich sauce and very generous toppings. Crust is not overly thick but be sure it's not just a little under cooked. Our family has adopted Reyes as our new local pizza joint.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
