The entrance to Tokyo, over a small interior "river," is one of its most stunning features. Although there was confusion over exactly what I meant to order and how I was charged, it was readily remedied. Mrs. Mi Kang has an establishment that is soothing to both eye and body. On the lunch menu, four sushi, with one California roll and one crunchy shrimp roll, total $15.95 (not sure price is current...haven't been lately). Edamame and green tea were stalwart companions. The miso seemed to have more than a heap of scallions -- I had requested none -- but I suppose that's another benefit of chopsticks. Again, I was comparing lunch sushi samplers. Mine included white tuna (not albacore, but a tuna bleached by alcohol!?), tuna, salmon and shrimp. The California roll was above average, with a touch of toasted sesame and what appeared to be actual crab meat, as opposed to the rip-off "sea legs" (pollock) to which one is typically subjected, and the roe surrounding the roll instead of atop it. The salmon here melts in the mouth. Novel sushi choices were smoked oysters and green mussel, which I haven't seen elsewhere and quickly ordered. The oysters were especially good...as were the personalities of the staff.

We had lunch here today. Hibachi is pretty good, basically you seat there and watchthe cook make yourhibatchi. The performance is amazing, i was actually staring at the cook all the time. I ordered chicken and shrimp hibatchi. Fried rice is first served. Shrimp and chicken are served after I have finished all my fried rice. Maybe i ate too fast. Shrimp is pretty awesome and very fresh. Chicken is kinda bland and not very tender and juicy. Well, it's hibachi anyway. Fried rice is ok, i can say i had better fried rice elsewhere. Overall ok place to go, very good decorations. It would be perfect if they keep the floor clean though. It's very very slippy. maybe oily?

Tokyo is exceptional....y lame. My criteria for judging restaurants is to try a dish that's hard to mess up. To start with something simple. I chose the chicken fried rice. Not only have I had fried rice less bland from Panda Express, I've eaten less expensively from PF Changs. I definitely won't be coming back here.

My family and I have been coming here for months, every week or two weeks and the food is amazing. The sushi is fresh and the taste is a lot better than most sushi places I've been. We always ask for Justin when we go because his cooking is far better than the others and the show he does for my three kids makes them laugh every time. If you're wondering what to order, I go between steak teriyaki and chicken/shrimp teriyaki. The portions are large for the price and can be shared. In addition, the mushroom soup that comes with the meals is awesome! You definitely won't be disappointed since their prices are very competitive when compared to Stix and Shogun.

Everything we tried was delicious. The service was fast and friendly and we received a lot of food for the price.

The grilled scallops are delicious. A little pricey but it was worth it. The atmosphere is ok but the lighting is a little dim...I recommend this place if you are hungry and craving some good rice etc.

Every year we come to Tokyo to celebrate a friend's birthday. Usually it's good, no complaints. However, this year I have to say the service was almost nonexistent after our initial drinks were served. Again no complaints with the food, but the service was quite lacking.

Overpriced. I've had better sushi. The decor is the best part of this place.

I will give 2 stars. Food was great. Service was horrible. Chief argued with the waiters in front took 2 hours to get seated. It wasn't a good environment would not recommend going.

My wife and I are hibachi restaurant experts. Besides eating frequently at these type of restaurants across the country I have actually traveled to Japan. So Tokyo restaurant was definitely above average as hibachi goes. Thank you for the great service.

Customer beware: They charge a premium for sitting at the hibachi table. If you meet friends there, & you eat at the hibachi table, they'll sneak a 23% "tip" into your bill, as you're part of a "large party." Larger parties at hibachi tables are standard in these restaurants; they shouldn't be sneaking this extra charge in, all while having the gall to include a "gratuity" line on your bill. The place was nearly empty on Sunday evening, & they wouldn't even turn on any other lights except the ones over the hibachi stove. They just seem stingy all around. Save yourself the experience of mediocre & overpriced food, & go to Sakura on County Line Road.

Went to eat here with my wife and was not impressed. The service was average. The drinks were really bad, probably one of the worst Long Islands I've had. I got the steak and shrimp combo. The shrimp was really chewy, which means that it was either over cooked or was frozen and they didn't let it thaw before putting in on the grill; the steak had no flavor either. Fried rice that came with it was bland and mushy. We will not visit here again

The ONLY reason that this place is getting two stars instead of 1 is because of their lunchtime sushi (which is fast and pretty affordable). Now, the hibachi is NOT WORTH IT. We went in on a Thursday night with a group big enough for a full grill. The waitress that took our drink orders and then our food orders was basically asleep. After we received our original drinks it was nearly impossible to get a refill (the one refill I DID get was given to me by a different waitress). We waited FORTY minutes for a cook to show up. He then joked about us having to wait while he messed up nearly every trick he attempted with his utensils. Every joke he made was completely inappropriate (and most were sexual in nature) and he actually insulted a few of us several times. He would not shut his mouth, and it took him forever to cook our food. He also did an awful job at dispersing the food and because I was on the end I got very little vegetables. When he was nearly complete and had only a single serving of chicken left to dish out he turned around and talked to another cook for at least 2 to 3 minutes while the chicken just sat there on the grill. I was IN SHOCK. The food is just not good enough to ever have to endure this again.

My hubby and I went on a Sunday night and the place was pretty much empty. The waitstaff was friendly but somewhat hard to locate which I thought was weird since they only had us and three other people to serve. I wasn't impressed with the food. We had a couple of standard sushi rolls which were fine but not that much better than what you'd find at a nice grocery store. It might be an okay place for lunch especially considering its proximity to Research Park but I wouldn't go back for dinner.

Typical Japanese Hibachi grill in HSV. Nothing particular special and the food was just on par. The meat and vegetable portion are a bit small, but there was plenty of fried rice. It was extremely slow for a Saturday night. Only 1 table of four in regular sitting and 3 half-fulled hibachi grills. The cook did the usual tricks (volcano, choochoo train and fireworks). He did "transfer" the fire from the edge of the grill onto the onion mountain with his fingers -that was cool. Also, he turned the lights out and started to sing the birthday song when he did the "fireworks." The other party had a birthday boy. No throwing eggs though. He was friendly but a bit annoying b/c he wouldn't stop talking lol. One good thing is that they did go ahead and start the grill even though place wasn't full. At some other places in HSV (like shogun), you can be sitting and waiting for 30 minutes and they wouldn't start b/c there's still 2-3 seats open... Overall, typical restaurants. Nothing fancy but not the worse.

I ate here last night with my family. It definitely wasn't busy seeing that there was only four other customers sitting at the grill. The floor was really dirty and I've definitely seen cleaner hibachi grills. Our server was really nice but he wasn't really attentive. My cousin-in-law asked for a refill, so the waiter took his drink to refill it but never came back with his drink. The rest of us were waiting forever just to find someone to refill our drinks. The food was pretty good but I've definitely had better. I won't be coming back here again.
