I don't know why this place is so busy! We visited on two separate occasions, once for lunch and once for breakfast. Lunch was what you expect at a buffet restaurant in the South. Bland overcooked vegetables, lots of fried meats and lumpy mashed potatoes. I don't understand why people in the South "enjoy" their food cooked this way. While the fried chicken was super moist and the batter crispy, I could not get over the taste of burned grease. Unfortunately, every fried item I tried gave me that same taste. When I suggested breakfast a couple of weeks later, the boyfriend was dubious but luckily not fully awake. I had high hopes but them came crashing down as soon as I stood in line. Scrambled eggs that just came to the buffet line were dense and dry. Many types of meats to chose from but I went with the old stand by of bacon and turkey sausage. The bacon was drowning in grease so I held up the line for a few minutes trying to get it to drip dry. The flavor of the bacon was spot on. The turkey sausage left me underwhelmed. The biscuits were hard and flat and the sausage gravy was about as creamy as the water in my glass. My last two hopes were the cheese grits and the hashbrown casserole. The grits were perfectly cooked but I still have some people searching for the cheese. As for the hashbrowns, all I could taste was cheese and immediately knew it was powered. It really isn't that hard to cook for the masses and still put out a good product. I know, I've done it before. We won't be returning for a third try.

My husband & I went here for dinner & it is our first time there. We got our drinks & we were greeted by a very nice cashier. This place is a buffet and its clean & the food is very yummy. There baby back ribs are very delicious & pork chops are very yum! They have everything from salads, country down home style to Asian cuisine & the awesome dessert aisle. Ooh the awesome chocolate & vanilla wonderfall!! The staffs are very sweet & very helpful. Awesome customer service! I give this place 2 thumbs way up & I am a very tough critic to impress & this place did impressed me. My husband loves it here too & we will be coming back here again for sure.

I'm still trying to recover from my visit here and my daughter is texting me from her room saying she feels like she is going to throw up. I love some salty food, but the bourbon chicken was so salty it was inedible. All three of us thought the egg rolls had a weird indistinguishable aftertaste. On top of that there was a fat hair in the bread pudding I dished out. I handed it to an employee and she just took it and walked away. The waitress refilled my husbands and daughters drink but not mine. Dishes weren't cleared either. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I love buffets and go to them often. For $50 for 3 adults I expected a bit more I guess.

My girlfriend and I had an excellent time and both agreed that everything we tried was good. She's more critical of food than I am, but she had rave reviews. Sure it was crowded, but isn't that a good sign? Some dishes on our table got a bit piled up, but that's no fault of the employees who were working very hard. It's just hard to keep up with so many people, and to dock the restaurant for such a thing would be unfair. Bottom line: the food was great, the staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, and we had a great time.

Excellent food. Didn't actually see the server for my table but i did have a drink refill on the table after trip #2 to the bar. Good variety but mom would not approve of the chocolate fountain for breakfast...

Try to avoid the busiest times. At Sunday lunchtime the line extended out the doors, and about 35 feet down the sidewalk. As I remember the former Golden Corral in Huntsville, the food was very good at first. Later they started serving cheaper, tough meats. Their clientele became fat people interested in quantity over quality. And then they closed. Here the food is still good, the staff is getting their act together, and -- there are still thin, healthy-looking diners!

They need to go to Anniston to see a real Golden Corral in action. Some foods good. Some poor. Chicken livers overlooked. They doled out the baked ham like it was gold(en). Brussels Sprouts and cabbage weak, watery and poor. Asparagus? Might have been...it was approximately the right color but I've had pasta bigger around than this stuff. $28.63 for two buffets and one tea? Really? Be a really good place once they get the idea of cooking good food. The layout makes you walk all over to see what they have which stinks if you have trouble walking. In another buffet type restaurant in town the server comes to your table and takes your drink order and brings hot rolls. In this one? The drinks are at the front so you have to get them and carry them as you pay. I walk with a cane. In other places where you carry a tray the staff always asks if I need help and in one place they insist on carrying the tray for me. I always tell them thanks but I got it...this place? Once you pay you're invisible. The server came to the table, introduced himself, wrote his name on a business card, dropped it on the table and told us, "if you want rolls they're on the buffet on the right." They were. They were also cold. Having had all my kids work through college as servers I respect them and have always left a tip. Sometimes a small one for poor service but always left a tip. Not this time. This yo yo got exactly nothing.

A new refreshed spin on Family buffet. I've not been to a Golden Corral since the late 90s, i was excited that a childhood favorite returned. Well it is now completely different, its been revitalized and hosts a lot of traditional homestyle selections along with some painfully predictable "ethnic" food: tacos, enchiladas, chinese food, and mongolian grill. as the previous reviewers have pointed out the food was considerably bland overall, and some sides were unnecesarily salty, the stuffing(for example), good but really salty. they had 3 forms of chicken breast: fried, rotissary, and baked in sauce, all were really good. they have replaced the meat carving with BBQ ribs and steak, and the select your own hibachi/mongolian grill. the steak unfortunately was not the best, there is no way to properly baby steak on a grill for hours. the rolls have changed and are no longer soft and hot, but have a more firm texture. also the pizza, a childhood favorite, has lost its appeal. back to the positive the food although bland was solid in quality and preparation, and the desserts were amazing! the children running through the place with their cotton candy and huge smiles just brings joy to your heart. i will definitely return as it is now Huntsville's best southern style buffet.

I have been excited to go here and really didn't know what to expect. Sadly though it was exactly what I had expected. Lots and lots of food with nothing that stood out. The layout is much different than the last location when Golden Corral used to be in town. There are many long bars containing much more food and one really long dessert bar. You can tell the food is hastily cooked, many dishes have no flavor. It may take several trips back to figure out which dishes to avoid. I suppose the dish washing is the same because you really have to watch to make sure your "clean" dish doesn't still have food on it. Overall, the food is pretty good, they have all kinds of different types of food, and there is no waiting to get your food. Prices are pretty high IMO but you do get to pig out and I'm sure there is lots of waste. $8.99 for an adult lunch, $10.99 for dinner. Seniors over 60 get a dollar off. Drinks are extra.

It's a Golden Corral (GC) buffet, so what do you expect, haute cuisine? I've been to a number of GCs over the years; this one's no better or worse than most GCs. When food is prepared in mass quantities for the masses one should expect most dishes to be somewhat bland. But if you just want a basic meal at a reasonable price GC fits the purpose. A few tips: * Lunchtime parking is a problem. GC's parking lot is too small, so some park at the lots next door (something I doubt these businesses like and they'll probably eventually take measures to stop.) * This GC serves breakfast on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. But if you want lunch on those days don't get there too early. At 11:00 a.m. on a Fri. they still had the breakfast dishes out and were just beginning to replace them with the lunch dishes. * If you're 60 or more (or can pass) don't forget to ask for the Senior Discount. (Hey, every cent counts, and you'll probably see a lot of seniors there.) * Snide, I know, but GC is the Wal-Mart of restaurants. Be prepared to see a good cross-section of humanity. Bon appetit.

I finally got a chance to stop for dinner at this relatively new restaurant. It always looks so busy I had high hopes, but I left rather disappointed. The place is bright and clean and the servers were friendly and helpful. The food from the grilling station (steak and hibachi) was pretty good, although the portions were small. The rest of the buffet was pretty sad, however. Soggy, over cooked vegetables, bland meatloaf, poor selection of seafood. Given all the other choices in town, I doubt I'll bother to come back.

Most food was good. Management needs to be aware of people slipping in the exit door. We were not impressed with the environment. Dirty floors and some food trays empty.

My wife and I tried their breakfast buffet and was very disappointed. The location failed to open on time, which resulted in a 30 minute late opening. After getting seated, we hit the buffet. The items were over cooked, the bacon was really thick and had pieces of aluminum foil stuck to them. The managers were rude and seemed to just walk around confused. In addition, the food just tasted bland. We won't be back because the prices are way too high for subpar quality. Please note that this review is solely based on the breakfast buffet as I have not tried the lunch/dinner buffet at this location.

The food was terrible. The bar was in deplorable condition. The meat was dry, the mashed potatoes soupy, vegetables were over cooked. The dessert bar was straight up nasty & the toppings for ice cream were not stocked. Have your salt shaker in hand if you visit this establishment; we found most of the food was tasteless. Won't ever be tempted to revisit this place! YUCK!

Figured we'd give this new place a try. There was a good selection of mediocre food, but the seating is super-cramped (constantly banging into the tables around you every time you want to go get another plate) and it's LOUD. As in, don't bother trying to talk to anyone who isn't right next to you loud. If it were cheaper or the food were better I might consider going back, but for the price and the quality it's just not worth the time.

My husband and I visited yesterday and were pleased for the most part. The food was good, except for the steak burgers (which were overcooked and burned on the outside). The rest of the food was very tasty. The prices were a little high, even though the food was good, I don't know if it was worth $25 for two lunch buffets with two drinks, plus tip. That's a little too pricey for lunch! Our server was great, very attentive with a great attitude. The parking outside is also crazy, there is really not enough parking for the amount of business that their doing. We found a space pretty fast, but then trying to get out was crazy. Some people were just rude and didn't care that people were trying to get out of the parking lot. We ended up going out of the way to get out of their parking lot. Besides that stuff, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely be going back. May 2015: This place is not so good anymore. When they first opened, the food and service were great. Now it seems to have gone downhill. The last couple of times we were very disappointed. The server was great, but the taste of the food, the quality of the food, and the selection of food available was not good. For the prices that they charge, it should be alot better! We filled out a comment section online on the GC website and nobody even bothered to contact us. I guess they just don't care..it's a shame. I think we're going to stop going to this place and start going to Ryan's Buffet again...they seem to be alot better!

I have been to this restaurant 3 times wanting it to improve each time. This last visit will be my last. at 6:30 pm they were out of fried chicken, rotisserie chicken, pot roast, mashed potatoes , Cole slaw Not just out not replace for the 40 minutes I was there Not that there wasn't enough help chefs are walking around looking at it just not replacing it staff is very unhelpful kitchen was an eyesore at best Salad guy drinking iced tea in front of guests without a lid or straw the whole salad station was trashed like it had not been cleaned since before lunch Four "chefs" in the grill station... none mans up to carving items You get all this and so much less for an amazing $13.99 without a drink oh and looking at some of the other reviews the rotisserie chicken is so salty you need to pick at it This restaurant is a total mess I have been to may of these all over the country For a newly opened Chain restaurant to be this bad and mismanaged is truly a difficult feat But the Huntsville team is giving its all to the best bottom of the list establishment it could be AVOID at all cost

I waited for years for this to come to Huntsville, and I have been there 3 times since it opened. So far, it was a little disappointing from several items. The bacon had 5-6 pieces burnt together. None of the pieces were individualized and it was burnt. For Lunch, my son had a fried chicken that wasn't completely done and I had a thick catfish that was not done in the middle and still a little cold. I hope this place gets all of the kinks out soon and cook the food correctly. I still haven't made it to dinner yet to see if it is like the ones we went to a lot in Atlanta. Please turn it around and cook the items correctly.

Loved the layout of the store. The food itself while they have almost anything you can think of it was all pretty standard fare. The food was decent not bad just decent, the exception was the pot roast it was amazing. Our server was great he was very helpful and made the experience a good one.

I give 2 stars because the food is good. Everything else was a generally awful experience. Let me preface with this: just two adults (my husband and me) went for a late lunch on a weekend; about 3pm on a Saturday. It was PACKED. Super packed, though we did find a parking spot in their lot. Barely could find room for a table. I'm a fairly small person but couldn't hardly pull my chair out far enough to get in lol. The tables are really close together. This was not the grand opening or anything; it's been open for months. There are a lot of food choices but things are not very organized so it's like a free for all; no lines; just crazies running around with full plates in hopes I don't run into someone and spill my own food on myself. Buffets gross me out in general because there were unsupervised kids grabbing at items on the buffet and probably sneezing and coughing all over shit. We ate about half of our food and had to get the heck outta there. First and last time visiting Golden Corral!

I was soo looking forward to my visit..it took 3 times to get in due to the amount of people waiting...The food was very salty and very greasy... the price is very hefty too!

I realize it's a new restaurant but there are way too many managers running around and doing nothing. I have been there two times and probably won't go back. First time was for dinner and it was okay the second time was for breakfast and it was terrible. Stood in line for 40 minutes for an omelette and by the time it was ready the other breakfast items have already been removed and lunch was being served.
