I can dig it... I think. Sandwiched between Sam and Greg and Amendment XXI, what used to be the Skillet (an old fave) is now the Office. Oh, if only I was still consigned to corporate behavior, this promising watering hole would be a running joke in and of itself. Ask for the bar and you'll get carted upstairs to a place I used to fondly take pancakes while watching leaves change color. Now it's a bar that I can take my brown sauce neat or chased. The bar food gets a sticky thumb and an elbow up... I tried the Korean BBQ wings with pear honey and wasabi mayo and I must say I was impressed...and maybe could've ordered a few dozen. If the bar even matures, I'll suggest that they offer liquor pairings. Alas my only complaint is that it's a bit warm upstairs... So I may not shadow the door until the weather changes...or the AC gets fixed. I figure the elevated temp is a residual of the commercial kitchen sprawl on the street level. It's a bit odd and eclectic still, but doesn't quite have the charms of other exposed brick establishments but that's OK too. As long as the kitchen keeps it coming... I'm sure they'll have enough fans to get by. At least I hope so.

My wife and I wanted to try something new and made reservations for The Office, it had great reviews. Upon entering, the staff seemed confused as to why we were there and it took talking to about 3 people before we were guided upstairs to our table. The decor was bland and uninviting, though I could look past that generally. Our server was I'm sure a nice girl, but looked and spoke like she had never served a table before in her life, my 10 & 12 year old boys could have been more professional. When we asked if they had a wine list, she looked at us like we were aliens before mumbling something and wandering away for about 5 minutes. She then came back and said yes they have wine. My wife asked what kind of Pinot Grigio she had, she said "Yeah, I think we have some. Do you want some?" To which she replied, "Um... yes, I think I'll have some." At this point, we are discussing going somewhere else to enjoy our rare date night. After another 5 minutes or so, we receive the wine and ask to order an appetizer, Coconut Shrimp, to which the waitress states "We don't have appetizers." I restate that I instead want a Small Plate of Coconut Shrimp (which is what it says on the menu). She mumbles something else and wanders away. About 5 more minutes pass and she comes back to report that they have run out of shrimp, do we want something else? At this point, we graciously say that it is ok and that we'll just take our check. It takes close to another 10 minutes before the owner casually asks if we are doing ok, to which we let him know we are just waiting on the check. He leaves and the girl returns fairly quickly with it in tow. From what I've heard, this place is awesome at lunchtime, and I'm sure we would have been better if we had another server. But there are enough awesome restaurants nearby that I can't imagine I'll spend my time or money to give this place another chance. I truly wish I could say otherwise, but that's the truth.

Ate upstairs at the bar and had great drinks food and dessert. The grilled cheese w onions and pork was phenomenal. The meat ball sliders were also good. The pound cake was good but the tiramisu was better although not yur traditional tiramisu! I highly recommend

Great food and good atmosphere..simple fare with a nice staff.... If you need a good quick bite and in the Huntsville downtown area this is a great place to try Have not tried the bar area yet but I intend to. Also very good wine selection.

This place was excellent for what I paid for it. My bill for half sandwich half salad came to 8.75. I could pay the same at panera and not get nearly the same quality I received here. The service was excellent as well. The atmosphere was a little hipsterish but I'm cool with that as long as the place looks clean (which it was). Over all, I plan on coming back!

Definitely a place to support. The menu has a variety of items at a low enough cost you can get two items. A friend and I actually split the French toast and shrimp and grits. It wouldn't have been enough sustenance if I just had one or the other. For $6 you can get bottomless mimosas. I did get my money's worth because I probably drank 6 during our two hour brunch. The French toast is very sweet so beware. I enjoyed it thoroughly because it wasn't like regular bread; had a thickness of banana bread. It's four small pieces. But you may want to ask for the sauce on the side. The shrimp and grits was not as seasoned as it could've been and it was not hot. The shrimp also still had the shell on the tail. Would've been easier to eat without it. This portion was also small. Lastly I tasted the chicken and waffles. The syrup was spicy which was not my favorite but I don't prefer spicy food. (The menu does say this is spicy.) The chicken could've been seasoned better. It was four wings. But the sauce helped with its taste.

The office has been a bookmark of mine for quite a while so I welcomed a lazy "girls Saturday" visit with a sorority sis to explore downtown hsv. The office has been the home of various establishments but now is a cool place for patrons of all ages to dine in or out: upstairs or down and what well. My sorority sis and I shared the food I posted pictures of chicken and waffles, coconut shrimp and chick wings. The food was good and the atmosphere lively but laid back. A party of nine millinials (sp?) Took roost at a farm table by the upstairs window and enjoyed themselves. The reason for no fifth star? If u don't have coconut don't sell coconut shrimp. Also a napkin shortage other than that no issues. So really a 4.75 experience go there. Have fun. Get your downtown on!

Ate here last night and we sat outside which was lovely now that the temperature is starting to cool down. Our waitress was super friendly and my water glass was never empty. The new menu had lots to offer with classics with a new twist. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was very filling, SPICY but delicious. The kind of spicy that leaves your mouth tingling! My friend ordered the office burger and said it was so good! I'll have to try that next time. We were there during happy hour so she ordered an Office Romance cocktail (vodka, cranberry juice, and prossecco with hibiscus flowers) It was served with a heart on top! I had a sip and it was dangerously good! Will definitely go back soon.

Good atmosphere and decent food. We went on a night where they were hosting some sort of function for the show scandal so everyone was glued to the TV, including some waiting staff but the food was worth a little extra bit of a wait.

I so badly wanted to like this place that I've returned several times despite previous not-so-great experiences. The food is extremely subpar and they are just seemingly trying way too hard to make simple dishes seem more upscale than they are. This has proven to be true in all 4 dishes I've tried. The wait staff that I've dealt with is unhelpful with very little knowledge of their menu. (I will mention that the service was pretty speedy but each time there have been very few customers.) Not good, but not bad enough for 1 star...Because the location and decor are great. The wine list is also decent. And the prices are okay...although still too high to be truly reflective of the poor food quality.

It's ok. Friendly, funny and engaging wait staff on the night we were there. Limited draft beer selection, including only two local options. The nachos were really good, but not enough for more than one or two people. The office sliders were good, but the chips were dismal. Some Lays Salt and Vinegar would be a vast improvement. Would recommend, because it's comparatively cheap for the area and the outdoor seating is nice.

Great new place in Huntsville...right in the square just across from the courthouse! Great location with outdoor patio seating perfect for the spring-fall evenings! Enjoyed a glass of prosecco while people watching! The appetizer of meats and cheeses were all excellent! Even better was the grilled cheese. Great atmosphere and food at a reasonable price!

Great atmosphere on the Square in HSV. Had table outside and it was very nice. Band playing up the street. Had steak and pasta. Ordered it Medium and got it very well done almost burnt. Pasta was lumpy and Alfredo sauce did not have much flavor. Had Long Island IceTea which was very nice. Think burgers and sandwiches might be better choice in the future.

I give them 5-stars! I had plans to go elsewhere; however, I was greeted at the door...by name and welcomed in! The downstairs is most def a different feel than the upstairs. I was assisted up the flight of stairs and seated at the bar. The ambiance is eclectic, soulful, and most def conducive to the upscale, elite, classy, and even the artsy. Mimosas and The Nest was this writer's selection for her Sunday Brunch, as a tourist who resides here. This just might be my HOT Spot!!!

I was so impressed! We stopped by today before 3pm. The place was empty and the staff was very attentive. Andrew showed us to an indoor table upstairs (they also have a nice patio on the ground floor) and took our drink order. Hubby had a cocktail and I enjoyed a glass of wine. I got a small Caesar salad and the meatball sliders served with freshly made chips. Outstanding! Wonderful flavors and beautifully presented. Hubby had the grilled cheese which is more like a grilled pulled pork and cheese. Wonderfulness on a plate! We'll definitely be back.

Good stuff. Make plans to go to this place ASAP. The Burger lived up to the hype, and the drinks are fantastic.

Menu was confusing... The food was too. They need to figure out who they are. Staff was excellent.

In between Sam and Greg's pizza and amendment 21 this place is great for dinner or lunch out on the patio. Flank steak/ pasta and the "inside out grilled cheese" are both excellent choices. Would definitely recommend this place for your next evening out in downtown HSV.

In one word, horrible. After reading the menu was looking for a nice flavorful meal in a beautiful location downtown. What I recieved was not edible. We started off with a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board. The intent of a charcuterie board is to provide a varied and flavorful array of meat, cheese and sides which complement each other, cold cuts, limp cheese and a swipe of jam and mustard do not a charcuterie plate make. At least compared to the meal this was edible. My wife and I ordered the Pigs in Brussel and Prawns and Pesto. I had high hopes as I am a big fan of brussels sprouts.. The pork was overcooked with that bottom of the burned pan taste, the brussel sprouts were boiled to mush all on a two day old roll (not sure what happened to the provolone but it never was found on the sandwich). All served with an au jus of what I can only describe as the water used to boil the brussel sprouts with a few bland onions added. The Prawns and Pesto were a big disapointment as well. Taking a frozen #15 shrimp, overcooking it to rubber and placingi it in a bland unseasoned pesto does make it a prawn. As my wife described the pasta: it was either yesterdays, undercooked or leftovers from someone elses plate. We quietly finished our bottle of wine, left the Pigs in Brussel to continue to ferment on the plate and boxed the pasta to go as we have a 20 something at home whom would eat anything (editors note: he took one bite spit it outs and decided to go hungry). The Office can write a nice description on paper but execution of a flavorful and balanced dining experience has yet to occur.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
