I've been here several times with friends to hang out before a movie or just to hang out in general. The food is always *meh*..I don't know if it's just me, but it always seems the food is on the "been sitting too long at the window" side. You know, when the dishes are done and pushed out, but the waiters are too busy doing something else to go get the food. The sushi's not that bad, I've seen friends eat it plenty of times and they seem satisfied with their orders. The prices seem a little more expensive than they should be, but you pay for atmosphere here don't you? As I said in the overall Monaco Pictures review I did, the drinks do not impress me either. I've ordered the same drink, with the same bartender making it and I've gotten two completely different strengths of drinks, it's not always consistent. As a friend of an excellent former bartender, if you are a good bartender your stuff should and will be consistent overall, no matter how busy. Now my post seems totally negative in nature, but I do enjoy just sitting around here and people watching (you know you do it!). Whether you're inside in the comfy seating areas or outside looking over that end of Bridge Street, Scene Lounge is a nice place to go, sit, laugh and talk with your best buddies. One Girl's Night, we started inside at a table and asked if we could move out to the porch. We just had to pay our waitress from inside and we moved to another waiter outside without any fuss or attitudes. We sat outside on the porch area and had lots of fun, the security guards in the Scene Lounge would come by and chit-chat every once-in-a-while and crack a joke. The staff has always made us feel very comfortable, I'll definitely give them that. Even when we were still sitting outside and they were closing they weren't pushy and mean and trying to rush us out. The security kindly came out and told us when last call was and even got our waiter when we needed our checks. So while I'm not totally fond of the food & drinks all the time, I've never had a bad experience going to the Scene Lounge. Check it out if you have time, and definitely get there early to get out on the patio on a nice night. (You can reserve patio space as well, keep that in mind.)

My favorite place to have a drink after work. It's a great establishment for the professional white-collar crowd, clean, non-smoking, and they serve quality food (my favorites are the sexy ban sushi, california roll sushi, chicken quesadillas, and the pizza is pretty darn good too). The decor is nice and tasteful. The red-lighted bar adds to the ambiance. The outdoor patio is relaxing and enjoyable when the weather is good. If you are seeing a movie at the Monaco, it's very convenient to stop here for a snack and a drink, either before or after your show.

I must confess I come here for the sushi. I've tried other sushi bars in Huntsville, and didn't like them. The Scene lounge is super fresh and delicious. I like the Sexy Ban and the Super Crunch. The Scene is attached to the Monaco, a fantastic theatre with an over 21 section that has a full bar. That's right you can enjoy cocktails and sushi while you watch a movie! Is it any wonder Huntsville is my favorite city in Alabama?

Not bad. The food is ok. Nice atmosphere. A couple of tv's with sports playing.

Scene Lounge is located inside the Monaco theatre at Bridge Street. They have a wonderful outdoor seating area that is pretty shaded for those exceptionally hot summer days in addition to the indoor seating area. The food in general is very good, as well as the service. I highly recommend the recently expanded sushi selection. My wife and I also big fans of the Calamari and Rock Shrimp appetizer. Overall, it's a great place to catch a meal before seeing a movie.

I love the ambiance, the style and the overall feeling of the place. Foods and drinks are pretty expensive but they're good. I like the blue cheese steak kabobs but I don't see in on the menu anymore... I also love the fried calamari and shrimp!

This place has got to be one of the best bangs for the buck in Huntsville. The food is probably what you would consider second tier, just under the really expensive places in town. Very high chef-quality stuff! I like to sit down and have the nacho appetizer and a cold before or after catching a movie. The nachos are gigantic, so be sure and bring some friends. They also have a great selection of sushi, wine, and cocktails. The service is nothing to rave about, but it's certainly not bad.

A nice bar/lounge with good atmosphere. It's gets a little crowded on Friday and Saturday nights but, then again, it's supposed to get crowded on the weekend. They have a full bar with a decent wine list. Prices are a little high since it's in Bridgestreet but that's to be expected. I've never seen a bar in a movie theater before but it's a great place to meet friends before a show!

The Scene is trying to make itself just that, the scene, but ultimately it falls short. In a sense it shouldn't be surprising that a restaurant associated with a high end movie theater is going to be pricey. People go to the Scene to have an experience, often before they catch a flick on the big screen. Located in the upscale (for Huntsville) Bridge Street shopping center, you're bound to run into the young hipster group and desperate house wives alike. Its date night for many there so the overly priced food and expensive drinks are not a factor. But at face value it's just that, overly priced food and drinks served in a space that could be a snap shot for a West Elm advertisement. What's right: Despite the West Elm plug the ambiance is nice. The lounge booths and low sitting tables are fun, and add an aspect of intimacy when you are there with a date or spouse. And ooo-and-ahh over the red under lit bar! The space is clean and the staff is fully clad in their all black attire. Every time I've gone to the Scene the staff is very friendly, helpful, quick, and responsive. Some people rave about the patio space, I've never utilized it, but it does look nice with more lounge space and fire pits. What you will hear most people say about the Scene is how good the sushi is, and they're not wrong. It is very good, and the sushi chef is right behind the bar working diligently on your order. Knowing your sushi being rolled fresh adds an aspect of comfort, try the Draggon Roll, it's delicious. Another favorite, the Sweet Potato fries, which come with a delicious Blue Cheese dipping sauce. The portion is small for the $7-$8 you pay but they are very good, and after all it is suppose to be an appetizer. I almost always get them. I've also gotten there Hamburger, which was cooked to my specifications, is one hell of a big sandwich, and very tasty. I will bow down to worship the Bananas Foster desert. Ordered it on one occasion for the wife and I. Orgasm in your mouth. Be that crude or not, there is no better description. What's wrong: High prices, but what do you expect. Not only does the Scene locate itself within Bridge Street, it's also a unison establishment with Manaco Pictures. They got a concept in that people will pay for the experience and they mind as well stick to it. I can stomach the foo-foo drink specials breaking the bank at $8-$13, I get it! Let's be honest the wannabe Desperate House Wives will pay it just to say they are dinking a $9 cosmopolitan, but domestic bottled beer's at $4-$5, Ouch! Lastly, while I have stated the ambiance is nice there is one additional attributing factor that dings the Scene for me. For a restaurant to be a 5 star in my book it has to have a great concept, good service, tasty food, ambiance, and attention to details. Price isn't even a factor if you hit all those marks. The floor space, bar, and tables are very clean but every time a sit back in one of those swank lounge booths my eyes are drawn up to the chandelier (One of the multiple, clear bulb, string of pearls type). Have you seen how dusty those things are? Get someone up there with some Windex already!

Absolutely THE best happy hour in town. We can go there at happy hour and get 2 orders of burger sliders, 1 order of cumin fries, and 2 glasses of wine for around $20. We pay almost that much at crummy fast food places. The food here is very good. The Monaco burger is one of the best burgers in town. The sushi is top notch. The atmosphere is outstanding. We've always had a good time, good food and good drinks at the Scene. Love it.

I'd like to take this opportunity to correct a mistake I made years ago: namely, blasting a decent business on the Internet because I wasn't satisfied with a cocktail. The Scene has great service and is one of the most attractive bar/restaurants in Huntsville. Drinks prices are quite reasonable and the bar staff is friendly and attentive. In nice weather, you have the option to enjoy dining on their patio. A lot of places have patios, but what makes this one special is that if faces a pedestrian mall, which is about a close as one can get to a European like setting in Huntsville.

Tasty food! Really liked veggie sushi, spider roll, hummus, kale salad. Service was friendly and helpful, although a little slow during a busy weeknight. Pizza looked decent and got The Italian's approval. Kid's pizza was same size as adult's! Surprised me and was too large for our toddler, but will make a nice lunch the next day. Located inside Monaco theater lobby. Plenty of parking

All I can say is that sushi should NOT be sweet. Drinks were good though. Service was slow. Asked for extra wasabi and it showed up about 15mins later

I only got the sushi so that's what my review is based on. Their sushi did not taste fresh bottom line. This restaurant's sushi is stuffed with so many ingredients, sauces, and mayonnaise that you can't really taste the fish. And they're all like that! The rolls I got weren't tasty at all. The daikon garnish also reeked of fish. Imagine putting the moldy nasty smells you experience when you sniff an aquarium fish tank, and stuffing it into the daikon. Disgusting. Since daikon absorbs all surrounding flavors, it was probably next to some really nasty fish in the refrigerator thing at the sushi bar. Not a good indication of quality fish right there. I certainly won't be coming back here.

Not a bad place at all! A pleasant suprise to find in Huntsville. Sushi not bad, and house merlot is respectable as well. I have been a few times, and I'm a creature of habit so I order the same thing everytime lol.

This can be a fun place to go out for the night. I wouldn't order food here because I think it's way overpriced and you really don't get the quality or quantity that you would expect for the price. The drinks are usually pretty good and I enjoy the atmosphere, specially out on the big patio, but the place can get pretty crowded on weekend nights. The best service is at the bar but it will fill up very quickly.

What an amazing surprise. Located inside a movie theater, the food is really outstanding and it gives a new meaning to dinner and a movie. I will come here again just for the food. The movie will be optional!

The hubby and I came here on a Saturday for some food and drinks and were pretty impressed. This is the first place in HSV I've been that's modern and upbeat, fashionable, and cool. We had the sexy ban sushi, which was very good, but not a lot of fish for the price. He tried the mango specialty cocktail and liked it as well. The service was also impeccable. Evidently a seat on the patio is hard to come by on a Sat, as there was a wait the entire time we were there. It would have been a very neat place to sit and people watch, so I understand why there was a wait. The crowd was a mix between older and younger, and very few kids (yay!) - generally good people to be around in a bar atmosphere.

Bartenders are super cool...esp. Drew who makes Californians feel at home. He also helpfully informed us that Huntsville is the #1 place for tornadoes. Funny the Huntsville / Madison Chamber of Commerce didn't include that fact. wxch.nl/1x3n6Ds Plus drinks are good, prices reasonable, and the bar lights up red. What more do you need?

Excellent service both times I have been here. Best sushi I have found in Alabama so far. Makes me not miss NY so much while here on a project. T~N~T, sushi sampler, hummus and chicken satay were all good.

Can somebody please give me a good time and date to hang out at Scene? I'll be on my best behavior, I promise. Been here a number times and in several situations... always a little odd. Either it's the milling crowd or... practically empty. Kid dates, too. What's good here? Consistently, the barkeeps are my kind of souls. A few have some VERY funny [horror] stories. Thr fries are consistently good too. Occasionally you'll get a cool person on waitstaff. At other times, they're young zombies. What I can't seem to get here is a good white Russian. Or Tito's vodka. But... they do have a few-well, two-good drinks... the lemon drop and the ginger lemonade. Try either. The sushi is honestly hit or miss. A true toss-up. Thr ocean's 7 sounds better than it actually is, the Dragon roll however is better than average. Spider roll is my thing here though. Chicken skewers are not bad either. I'll be brave enough to try it again sometime in the future but for now, the scene is an OK spot for the area but better served as a before-movie snack than a full scale bar/night scene. I mean... it is attached to a movie theatre...

Tried this place a couple times before seeing movies and when stating at the Westin at Bridgestreet before moving down here in May. it is a cool concept to put something a bit classier in the movie theatre to draw money and crowds -- maybe not even seeing a movie. And is has nice decor and a pretty good vibe, even though in a movie theatre! Bartender was nice and chatted us up the first time, 2nd time not so much but thats fine too. We didn't eat and just had drinks both times. My main beef with the place was the prices were a bit high for drinks. I get this is a high end area around Bridgestreet and that is their vibe -- but coming from Northern Virginia outside DC, where costs are wild high for anything....this was pretty close to on bar for beer, drink, and margarita's -- which just isn't right. This is Alabama folks! Cut the prices down a bit -- no need for 12$+ drinks, thats just NUTS!

I recently went with a group of girlfriends for happy hour and it was bad. First, they sat us upstairs in the corner after we had asked for a booth downstairs. We finally moved after no one served nor greeted us. The host stand had about 5 employees standing around and when I asked for a booth, no one moved. Remind you this was a Tuesday around 4:30 pm, it what not busy at all. We sat ourselves and a server finally greeted us, however he seemed annoyed that we asked about happy hour specials. Our server rudely grabbed a table piece with the information on the table adjacent to us and walked away. After about 5 minutes we left. We will not be going back.

I was really excited to come here for the first time last week. I had only heard good things about the scene lounge- especially its sushi. I love sushi and eat it in a regular basis, so I was really looking forward to trying out one of Huntsville's most popular dining choices. Sadly, I was not impressed. We were told when we first arrived that it was going to be a 15-25 minute wait (no big deal) and they would send our party a text when a table was ready. My group waited 30 or so minutes until we asked the hostess again. She casually said that our table had been ready for 20 minutes and sometimes the system doesn't come through with sending the alert text. Ok.... So we sit and are immediately approached and asked what we want to drink- nice. They come out shortly, and a few minutes later our appetizers come as well. We got the hummus and sweet potato fries. They were good but nothing special. Then it seems we were forgotten about. My table of 4 ordered sushi and it took over 35 minutes for it to come, and or drinks were refilled once...after we had all finished our food. The sushi was ok. Nothing special, and to be honest you can get much better service, selection, and quality at I Sushi or Edo. I was really excited to try this place but was ultimately let down.

Most certainly not the tastiest or freshest food I've ever had but the atmosphere, location, and diverse menu tend to compensate in my opinion. Simply put, the food is a step above mediocre. However, you can get bland sushi (mainly rice and sauce) while chomping on a well-cooked (what was probably a frozen) pizza with a side of sweet potato fries.... Beats stale popcorn and soggy nachos if you're eating before a movie at the connected theatre. Even better, and what takes this place from 2.5 to 3 stars, is their happy hour. That's when I would recommend trying this place out.

    (3)
  • Martic R.

I'm giving this place 3 stars but it's probably a 3-4 stars. I came here early in the afternoon and it was very empty. I think at night time this place would be great. I liked that it's attached to the movie theater so you can easily start with a movie and move to the lounge. It has some "regular" sitting but for the most part it's lounge/ bar seating. I didn't order any of their specialty drinks but they did have some that I would try. I had the Octoberfest beer... Very interesting. I definitely need to get a better knowledge of the beer world. I ordered the steak skewers, you get 3 pieces of steak with some sort of parsley spread over it, the steak was good even though I didn't expect just 3 pieces. It comes with potatoes and if u don't like spicy watch out they definitely were. Nice place for happy hour, very nice decor.

I like this place mostly for it's young-ish upscale environment. I don't feel out out place wearing clothing that's tailored or fit. It's dark but inviting and the service is good. I've been here a few times and I've enjoyed each time I've been here. I have been trying to duplicate one of their salads since I first came here in 2008. I'm still working on it, but it's delicious! With regard to sushi: avoid sushi when in the state of Alabama. That's a rule that's never disappointed me.

Good location at Bridge Street and in the actual Monaco theater. People love going here for dates for the convenience and club-like atmosphere. The food is fine; they're known for the sushi which is good as well. I actually do really like the "T~N~T roll" because its so spicy and the tuna tasted incredibly fresh. Not a must-try, but good!

I started going to this place awhile back, at first I was thinking it would be place that would be out of my budget like some of the places back in Charlotte, NC. Pricing is very good for the environment of this establishment. Every time I come here I always get the Scene Cosmo with some sort of a app. I have not tried the sushi yet as my stomach is sensitive or fish in general but the bartender who I always talk to has made many recommendations of different things to try. The Burger is probably one of the best I have tried in the City of Huntsville by far.

    (4)
  • Muneeb K.

The Monoco Burger was a disaster. It's not worth anywhere near 10 dollars when it comes to taste. If you ever stop by the scene don't order the burger it tastes very rubbery. Also the fries are very salty. The 1 star is because the waiter was curious as to why the burger was so bad. I hope they either make better burgers or just take it off the menu and stop marketing it all over the place.

    (1)
  • Amanda W.

The bartender made a decent enough martini, but the fruit was rotten. Not just the lemon on my water, but the lime on my martini, as well! Fail. Cut new fruit EVERY DAY, people. With that example of their respect for "freshness" in mind, I opted to bail after the drink, without ordering food; after all, I came here for sushi, and rotten fish is not as easily overlooked as a rotten wedge of lime. Too bad, because I really liked the ambiance.

Cool place to get a drink before watching a movie. Milfs always seem to be there for some unknown reason. Maybe it's the fries..

The one great thing about this place is the outdoor lounge area. When the weather is nice, it's a great place to relax with your friends, people-watch, and pretend there is a pool near by. That, however, isn't enough to bump up the rating for this place. Why are there always 6 hostesses hovering at the front idle? And, why is the service slow and unattentive even when it's not busy? The waiter brought out the appetizer with no plates, silverware, or napkins. And, it felt like if we asked for 2 things, then the waiter would get confused and *maybe* come back with one. My friends even commented that they liked the food, but they don't go more often because the service is so poor. The food was just okay. We had hummus and pita, which was decent, as well as the calamari and shrimp appetizer. Then, we got the Philadelphia roll and spicy tuna. Both had fresh ingredients, but the rice didn't taste freshly made. The chef might check out Edo's and get some tips from their sushi chef, because they darn sure know what they're doing! All in all, average food, poor service. I wouldn't return unless strongly swayed by friends.

    (2)
  • Chuck C.

Slow service and overpriced food of average quality. Wait staff totally disorganized - our waiter was covering a large group on the other side of the Prive and left us waiting for too long. Get your stuff together!

They could stand to have a larger sushi menu but the sushi roll I had was creative and very flavorful. It's good for a quick bite before you see a movie.

  • Charles G.

The drinks are over-priced, but well made. We had some made-to-order drinks that were absolutely delicious but not quite as delicious as the price tag. The two main drawbacks that keep it at three stars: 1.) The general pretentious feeling surrounding the whole place, staff, and most patrons. It feels like an airport bar but what the first class lounge must be like: uncomfortable because most people are looking at everyone else as if they did not deserve to be there. 2.) The horde of drunken... not-nice females having a bachelorette party behind us the last time we went. Why am I holding this against them? Well, either they were all genuinely stupid... not-nice-women, or they were drunk as skunks. I'm pretty sure the one who came up behind me to retrieve the cigarette that somehow got thrown five feet behind her and landed apparently exactly between my tush and my chair. Now, to set the scene, I was there with my wife sitting next to me and another female friend sitting across. There was NOT ample room for an arm to fit, and basically my bum was assaulted by some clumsy lush. I know many who read my reviews may find this unfair, but I feel that the clientele does speak loads about the nature and virtues of any given restaurant. This being so, Scene seems to attract the kind of people I don't care for.

I love this place. So very upscale, relaxing and the drinks are yummy!!! Such a cozy outdoor patio complete with firepits, couches and heaters. So nice spending the evening under the stars with my sweetie and the view is nice too

Overpriced for par-level food. The atmosphere is good for a group of friends. I like the outside balcony area and the coach section indoor. The service is a hit and miss. It depends on who you hve and the crowdiness-level. We usually just get a drink and go sit outside or to the theather. We hardly eat here unless we take it to the theater.
