This is my first visit, and it won't be my last. As a last minute decision, my family and I chose El Herradura to dine this evening. We each had different entrees, all of which were quite tasty: Relleno Special, Chicken and Steak Fajita Nachos, Beef Burrito Dinner, and whatever my mom had. The Monster Margs are fishbowl sized and will NOT displease anyone who partakes of this drink. My brother and I got ours on the rocks. One was enough. Two would require a DD. Keep that in mind! The service was mindful, expedient, helpful, and spoke very passable English. The ONLY reason there are 4 stars instead of 5, is that I am a stickler for Caso Dip. The dip served to us was a bit soupy and had a lackluster of flavor. I'm not over on that end of town for dinner very often, so I don't see myself becoming a regular. Still, overall, if asked to meet somebody for lunch or dinner at this establishment, I would definitely say yes.

Very good Mexican! The Chile Rellenos never disappoint. I don't know about the buffet as we don't eat meat. If you're a carnivore, there's plenty on the buffet for you to try. This is my family's favourite Mexican in Huntsville and we go at least once a month. They are always busy so others must agree.

Surprisingly good Mexican buffet tucked behind Chick-Fil-A in a strip mall off South Memorial Parkway. Salsa isn't spicy but this is Alabama, not Texas, so I'm spoiled. The buffet items are very tasty and the price ($7.25 plus tax) is a steal. Service was friendly and attentive, too.

My first time here, I ordered the chile relleno lunch special. Worst I've ever had and swore I'd never go back. But I did because I heard the food was good and I wanted to believe it. There's something about the place that was calling me to try again.... The next time, I got the lunch buffet. I tried a little of everything. The beef and chicken taco "stuffings" tasted odd to me, but some things really stood out as awesome. The potatoes, of all things, were out of this world! Two different potato dishes, both heavenly. The chicken enchiladas with queso blanco were DEVINE, and I added fresh pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, sour cream, and gauc... and came up with the most delicious Mexican food I've ever had. Been back two times since for the lunch buffet: potatoes, chicken enchiladas with queso blanco, pico de gallo and the trimmings... and that's, well, as good as it gets! Would give it 5 stars if their chile rellenos were tasty! Looking forward to my next visit; definitely the best Mexican I've found in Huntsville. YUM!

Five stars for this little hidden gem of a lunch buffet! We love this buffet. Where else can you go and get the white cheese dip and guacamole on the buffet!! This is such a great value for lunch. Great margaritas too! I have eaten here and ordered off the menu and was disappointed with the food quality and pricing was way too high. So glad I came back to try the buffet!!

This is one of our favorite spots for Mexican food. The employees are friendly and helpful, the food is yummy and the price is fair. I especially love the entertainment on Friday nights! Stop in and see Edgar perform!

Service here is always awesome! Vegetarian menu has 4 options. Food is great and authentic! Servings are plentiful. I have no complaints.

I guess I'm the only contrarian. Service was excellent and earned the two stars. Food was bland and sauce was watery. You be the judge.

Probably best Mexican in town, considering hygiene, quality, and value. Portion sizes are huge and some items are inventive. The salsa is tasty instead of incendiary, and the menu features the usual suspects, but I would have liked a chicken mole. Mexico has a multi-varied cuisine, so authenticity is impossible to ascribe. This isn't a romantic date place, but married couples will appreciate it, especially if they share an entreé with an appetizer, as weight gain is a serious danger with food this good and portion sizes this large. Beware the house wines. I tried the house rosé and it was a serious disappointment. It tasted more like cough syrup than wine.

Chicken taco salad is amazing, the service & food quality has gone down since they moved & changed names though :/

I've eaten here several times, very impressed! The items I've had were high quality, might go again this week!

Buffet for lunch. Close to my work and the food is awesome, either from the Menu or Buffet. The one thing I like most about the buffet is the white cheese, no need to order any on the side.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
