The Caesar salad was great; I couldn't get enough. I should have ended my meal on a high note right there. Unfortunately I didn't feel the same about the pizza. The sauce had a good flavor, but the crust was more like a cracker and got old real quick. I had been craving a good pizza for days, read the reviews on this place, came in drooling but left disappointed. If this is the best pizza in Dothan, this city has no idea what they're missing out on elsewhere. The beer list leaves something to be desired, but I do realize I'm not exactly in a beer lover's paradise here. There are only 4 beers on tap, which are the usual suspects at any place serving beer east of the Mississippi - unfortunately for this craft beer fan.

I'm normally not the five start type so just understand this when you look at my four star rating for The Red Elephant, but I was impressed. For me, dining out is a package deal - Food, Service, Atmosphere, and Price. So let's start with Food - their pizza is good, not New York or Chicago good, but good. the crust is always well prepared (not burnt nor soggy), their sauce is well prepared (not the best, but good), and their ingredients are excellent. For this I give them 3.5 stars. Service - this is where they shine, they get 5 stars here. EVERY time, and I mean EVERY time, their service is great. Drinks are filled constantly, tables are kept clear of used plates or finished appetizers, and extra napkins are delivered quickly - highly important when you have a 5 year old boy. For this I give them 5 stars. Atmosphere - well, this is a family restaurant. So, in that context let's be real - the best I can give is 4 stars. But the place is clean, well organized, the booths are not cramped, and the decor is actually fun and funky (love the paintings on the wall). 4 Stars. Price - they get 5 stars once again. There aren't many places where a family of four gets good quality food - pizza, salad, drinks - for less than $30. Now for the bonus - I don't like recommending places to friends because I worry that my credibility will be tarnished. But I've recommended this place to SEVERAL people and to a person they always thank me for telling them about the place. Are we going back - you bet!!! And, the good news is that they have the exact same experience at all their locations. A small, family run chain, that really gets it!!! Service, cleanliness, and good food at a reasonable price. Keep the menu simple and don't try to be what you aren't!!!

I love Red Elephant Pizza! Great environment, service and food!! I have only eaten at the Tallahassee, FL locations prior to this visit... It was fantastic as usual.

I really want to like this place. The food is good, the service is good, the music is not too loud. My problem is the furniture. The seats on the booths are slanted - higher at the front than the back - so it makes you lean forward. It made me feel like I was bent in half the whole time I sat there. Maybe it's just because I'm short, but it was miserable. Please put in some flat seating. I think I remember the table was too high too, at about my chest level. Furniture is important to a customer's dining experience.

One of Dothan's best all around restaurants. Quite a variety on the menu; from homemade pizzas to seafood. The service is first-rate with a pleasant wait staff and unbelievably fast food delivery. Go but try to avoid peak lunch times as it can be quite busy.

This is one of my regular lunch spots. I usually get the lunch special which includes an individual size pizza, salad (house or caesar), and drink for $7.99. The pizza is cheesy, gooey, deliciousness. Their crust is thin, which i prefer. The pizza is loaded with Italian herbs and seasonings. Service is always great, and I can count on them to get me in and out quickly so I can be back at work on time. I also like their grilled chicken. You can choose from several seasonings like mojo, mediterranean, or Asian glaze. And their health score is a 94, in response to an earlier review that said it was low...

Awesome place. Great service. Pasta YaYa was excellent. Garlic cheese bread came with marinara and a pesto ranch that the wife loved. All the salad dressings are homemade. Definitely recommend.

This is one of the best restaurants in town. I've eat here at least 75+ times over the years and i always get the Blackened Chicken Pasta. It's easily one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had.

Love the Long Island Blue Elephant drink from the bar! Service is always good and the food is great. Used to be better but now it's just good. The fire grilled pizzas are great and the ingredients are fresh. Great for kids, especially on Tuesdays when kids eat free!

Good food yet again! This place is a must have when we pass through Dothan! The elephant ears were wonderful! Just slightly salty to enhance all the sweet buttery flavors. Perfect!

I have never given 5 stars. Red elephant in Dothan is hands down the best all around restaurant! They cater to your every need and smile the entire time! John was our server and WOW! The man never skipped a beat. It was an experience like no other. Josh the manager worked as hard as everyone else and does an awesome job! Keep up the great work guys! Will be back many more times.

Great service! You can tell people actually like working here and they are excited about the food. Food was also good - although I'd like an alternative to thin crust.

Great service, great food, and will definitely be coming back whenever I'm in Alabama. We came in on a Tuesday night and were seated immediately and served our food within 10 minutes of ordering it. I wasn't addressed once without m'am attached to the end. We got the best onion rings I have ever had in my life! The atmosphere is very inviting and family friendly without seeming like a family restaurant. Had conversations with multiple employees who asked if we were enjoying the food, needed anything, what us Northerns were doing in Southern Alabama etc. We absolutely loved this restaurant! Would recommend to anyone passing through or even willing to go a little out of the way.

Was recommened this place by a friend. We were greeted and seated right away. Our server was very friendly, fast, and took great care of us. They have a game room for the kids that is easy to keep a close eye on from the dinning area. We had the loaded fries wich were to die for and pizza wich was the best pizza ive ever eaten. Great family resturaunt great service and great food. This is my new favorite place to eat!

When you're passing through Dothan, Alabama in the midst of a days-long cross-country move, where would you stop? One of the countless chain restaurants (think those peppers or that apple restaurant) or some place with only a few locations and a lot of good reviews on Yelp? If you're me, you pick the latter and you end up at The Red Elephant! Being travelers, my brother and I unknowingly showed up about 10 minutes before close. We were still seated and treated well. The manager stopped by to deliver our boiled peanut appetizer (deliciously salty) and had a nice conversation with us. He was pleased to see new faces and asked us how we found out about the restaurant. We chatted for about five minutes, then he brought us refills while we waited for our food. We barely had time to take in the decor (a previous reviewer is correct in their assertion that the booths are weird, though i didn't find them that uncomfortable) before our pizzas arrived piping hot. I ordered the Tribeca White and my brother ordered the Meat Lovers' Pizza. They were both deliciously hot and fresh. The crust was perfectly crispy and chewy, the toppings were fresh and y'all, they even put the spinach on my pizza under the cheese so it wouldn't get burnt! Thanks for the hospitality, Dothan. If I'm ever back, or at one of your other locations, I'll stop in.

Food is good. If you like pizza with a lot of toppings, Red Elephant is a good spot. They have good healthy options like the grilled angler and grilled chicken choices.

I had lunch here based on other yelpers reviews. The atmosphere is pretty good, and there were several things on the menu that looked good. I had the sausage corn chowder which was very good. Lots of tastes and textures which worked together well. I could totally see ordering the full bowl as a main dish. I also had the roast beef dip sandwich. It was presented beautifully (looked exactly like the photo in the menu) and was a solid good sandwich, served with both horseradish and an au juc. My only negative was that it was overpriced for what is was... But, I would like to try their pizza.

I was very impressed with three food and service. We were driving through Dothan and were sick of fast food. This place was quick and easy, with some delicious recipes at a good price. I think the garlic bread is comparable to pizza hut, but that's a win for me. Individual size pizzas are a nice option, and the Elephant Classic tastes fantastic.

Food was good and the service was great. The hummas was great as well as the burgers. Nice place for drinks, food and watching the game.

Small, flat pizza with few toppings mostly tasteless. Service was terrible. Very loud place filled with screaming kids and families. I've been there twice-my first and last time!

Extremely friendly waitress. Fast service. Food was very fresh and delicious. I asked for recommendations and went with the house salad with CJs dressing (house-made orange vinaigrette) and the Margherita Chicken pizza. The salad was fresh and the dressing was outstanding. I don't typically order vinaigrettes but this one was a great balance of tangy and sweet. The pizza was very well put together. The tomatoes, chopped basil leaves and chicken were very fresh as well. The crust was light, buttery and flavorful. The owner came over to ask if I had been here before, introduced himself and told me the brief history of the business and their other locations. I always appreciate this sort of rare occurrence. I was seated near the entrance and I heard the owner speak to almost every person who came in the door. I highly recommend visiting The Red Elephant if you are in Dothan.

this place was amazing!! at first glance it seems a little small but they do their best to get people seated quickly. i was expecting just pizza and maybe salad, but to my surprise the menu had a little of everything on it. veggie food, fish, steak, pasta, and the fish was some of the best I've had in a long while. just to see what it was like i ordered the steak, and it was cooked just right. like jay said, the veggies were great. they were not hard or crisp like you would expect most places to serve steamed veggies, but they were soft and really tasted good. i really liked this place and i cant wait to go back.

I had a great experience here for lunch and another for dinner. The staff was uniquely friendly and very prompt. They kept my drink full, my food came out quickly and was delicious. I had a burger for lunch and it was a generous size, cooked medium as I ordered (not medium-well or medium-rare like see from other places) and the fries were awesome, crispy, crunchy, with the perfect amount of salt. It did get a bit loud they were full so to be expected I guess. I ate in about 30 minutes which is what I have to have for my lunch hour. My server suggested their pizza which I brought my family to try another day. I really liked the thin crust and tangy sauce, which they told they made from scratch in house. My kids had pizza and grill cheese which they both enjoyed. My wife was also impressed by the cold salad bowls. A pet peve of hers is salad in a bowl hot out of the dish washer. I prefer places that really cook with ingredients and save me from a plate full of preservatives and HFCS. They get a Gold Star for the high chair they brought for my daughter that had a disposable place mat and sani wipe and a cup of cheerios. I have never seen that effort before and will be back.

Great pizza joint. They balance their pies well with an appropriate amount of cheese and sauce with a good tasty dough. All dough and sauce are made in house, which is hard to find in the pizza industry. Their sides and desserts are delicious as well. I liked their 2 person special; it was priced right and we both left happy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is clean and has a relaxed cool atmosphere with a neat decor.

My experience may not be typical but it wasn't pleasant. The wait staff was outstanding but the food was substandard. My children ordered pizza which arrived about 15 mins after me and my wife's food. I won't be back.

Stopped by for Sunday lunch takeout, the employee was friendly and the food came out quickly. My pepperoni/pineapple small pizza was great and my husband enjoyed his BBQ pizza. The cheese bread was great. We would definitely return.

I had a great experience here. The service was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. The decor is inviting and fun. The details like music and lighting created an active atmosphere without overpowering or interfering. The Red Elephant focuses on pizza but had a variety of food choices, including burgers, fish, and pasta. The spinach artichoke dip appetizer was very good with toasted pita chips. The salad was fresh if predictable. Likewise the pizza had fresh toppings in reasonable proportions. The best part was the crust. It had a hand tossed-doughy flavor but was still thin enough to give a satisfying crunch. The pizza and crust were also less greasy than it often is at many chain pizza places. The prices were comparable to other common sit-down type restaurants (think Fridays or Chiles). If I was getting the pizza to go, I would feel it was pricey. However, eating in the restaurant provides the food choices, service, and atmosphere that makes it a dining value. Expect to pay between 10-15 dollars per guest. Overall, this was a satisfactory dining experience. My only negative was that the specialty pizzas did not have a "the works" type pizza with all or most of their toppings. They had mostly typical toppings (including anchovies). However they had some interesting specialty pizzas that I plan on trying soon. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.

We stopped here on our way home from Florida. I begged my husband to stop here for lunch BC the menu had something for everyone AND I'm a huge Crimson Tide fan. (The restaurant bares no ties to The University of Alabama, unfortunately.) The food was yummy! I had a special that was an individual (1 topping) pizza and a salad and drink for $8.49. I wasnt going to get it BC I wanted the garden pizza. When I ordered the pizza the waitress asked what salad I wanted and said I could get the special anyway. I had the zorba's Greek side salad. The Greek dressing was delicious. My son had a cheese pizza and said it was the best pizza ever. Their sauce is tangier than I would like but the crust is crispy yet soft on the inside. Its a hand tossed so thin in the middle and the edges plump up. My husband had the cheeseburger and fries and said it was great and I picked a good place to eat which is a huge compliment. They have the plastic place mats for kids like chik-fil-a and they gave my daughter a little cup of cheerios. Crayons and an activity menu is always a plus. There are a few ceramics of red elephants but really the decor doesn't reflect the name or a typical pizza place. Until you go into the bathroom. There is the huge photo of a girl hugging a huge red elephant. And yes I snapped a pic. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is the rating. 88. But that can be from minor things like dumpster doors being open. The food was fresh and delicious and wait staff and manager very friendly.

Superb service. The two person special worked out well for us (two salads and a three topping pizza). Pizza was good. The decor is really fun and comfortable. I would recommend this place. I'm just passing through, I wish there was a place like this back home.

A buddy and I made it to the grand opening today and it was packed! The atmosphere and decor are cool, has a family/sports bar - chain restaurant feel to it. The hostess and servers seemed a little confused by the chaos but they were able to keep seating and food flowing. The menu is quite large, bar food, specialty pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and liquor. A little bit of everything available for everyone in a family to enjoy. I ordered a chicken salad wrap and hot wings and my buddy ordered some type of turkey/ham club. We both enjoyed our sandwiches, they come with a choice of sides, I ordered the cole slaw which wasn't to my taste and my buddy ordered the steam vegetables which he liked. The hot wings were cooked crispy just like I like them but the sauce was lacking, there seemed to be much more grease than sauce. Overall a good meal, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
