Had my first visit this past weekend. Fried rice was excellent.. Sushi was decent. Perhaps the most disappointing part of my visit was the service. It was Saturday night, the place was half-empty.. I planned on ordering dessert (green tea ice cream) but was unable to do so. Our server plopped the check on our table without a word, and never came back.

So I've been here a few times now and it was only due to convenience. You're usually greeted as soon as you walk in the door and waited on whenever your glass is halfway empty. The real complaint comes down to the seaweed, to me nothing is worse than chewing on a bubblegum seaweed wrapper. Not sure if it's just not fresh enough or what but it is no bueno. Was almost tempted to try the salmon skin sushi because of it and still may end up doing so before I leave.

Had a wonderful lunch a few weeks back. Extraordinary service and food was terrific. Our favorite is Thai House but it is closed on Sundays. Good atmosphere, food, and service.

I love Kyoto! I have always had good, attentive service. They have NEVER gotten my order wrong. The food has always been fresh and prepared well. Mine and my fiancee's favorite rolls are: Titanic Roll Super Crunch Roll ...and the classic, Philly Roll. [I always add cream cheese to any roll that doesn't already have it] Their hibachi is great, as well! Two thumbs up!!

The server was friendly and the food came to our table quickly which was nice. Not the most amazing sushi I've ever had but it was good. I did notice they had the same roll twice for two different prices though. Watch the menu for that. I always love a good cup of miso and they have one! Will visit again!

If you want great sushi then youll want to try Kyoto. Its fresh, made to order, and did I mention they have some yummi saki? The peach saki is warm and goes down smooth. Be careful it hits hard! They also have great Hibachi. Its a small restaurant and gets crowded fast so I recommend dinning a little earlier.

Surprisingly good sushi with a good variety on the menu. Not a place you would go for high quality fresh sushi, but we're talking about Dothan, AL here. I probably wouldn't go here to get straight up sashimi, but the rolls are pretty good. Didn't really see anything that was smothered in mayo or swimming in sauce, which you would typically find in low quality places. I wouldn't have any problem coming here and trying more rolls.

We have been eating at this restaurant for the last two years. When they first opened it was my favorite place for sushi and hibachi steak in the Wiregrass. Each time we have gone back the quality has decreased. We ate there last night and it was our worst experience to date. The food was very salty and the steak was dry and chewy. We went back time after time hoping for the quality dining experience we had when they first opened, we will now look elsewhere for sushi and hibachi.

This wasn't the best sushi I've had, however the place is packed and seems to do great business. I ordered 4 selections of sushi and a salad. The salad had way to much dressing and the sushi choices I made were smaller than I've had elsewhere. I didn't think food was as fresh as it could have been, however by the look of things people may be coming for something else. Server did his best, I think he had too many tables, and didn't really wait on us. One person in our group ordered a hot dinner and it never came and he was billed for it. Never was given an explanation as to why the order wasn't put in. They took it off the bill, but he never really ate. I'd think twice before heading here.

First time visit, I will be back! The lack of five stars comes from the lack of great service, our waitress wasn't very friendly. On top of the lack of politeness our waitress did not keep our glasses full and I had to ask her to remove dirty dishes from our appetizers. Also, the seating arrangement needs work, our table was located right in the front door as people were coming in we were getting a cold blast of air and the customers were crowding around our table. On the positive side the sushi was really good, and large portions for sushi. I got the Rainbow plate and recommend that if you want to try a little bit of everything. The hibachi is ok but the chicken and steak is really plain.

I had the traditional tuna sushi. It was excellent. I ordered the hibachi shrimp. Was good, not the best. Great service.

Decent place to have sushi, but not good that they are cheap being that they're not the only sushi joint in town. My husband and I came here on a lunch date after reading the good reviews and unfortunately we do not share the same views as the others. We ordered the Super Dynamite Roll, Spider Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Alaskan Roll, Baby Octopus Nigiri, and Rainbow Roll. The Dynamite Roll was delicious, perfectly seasoned and not to fatty tasting as other places have made. The Octopus Nigiri was good although they filled most of it up with Rice. My Spider Roll was pathetic. What sushi place makes a spider roll with only the legs of the crab???? How cheap is that? I even took a picture so you can see that there was hardly any crab in it. Same thing with the shrimp tempura roll, seemed like they used small shrimp. Part of my Alaskan Roll didn't even have avacado in it, skimping on that too I guess. And all in all the rolls were very small. This place isn't TOO bad but if they wanted more business I would hope they'll stop being cheap with the seafood.

Decent sushi. Priced about what you'd expect. So far from what I've tried nothing stands out as exceptionally different from any other sushi place but definitely a nice cute place to grab dinner.

Possibly one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever visited. It's my family's favorite! The sushi is always fresh, the service impeccable, and the crowds are never too large.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of fish at this sushi establishment. We were the only people in the restaurant and yet were waiting for food as if it was a packed restaurant. We were in no hurry and the food was all good so no real complaint. I can't give them 5 stars based on having far better sushi when living in Cali. Came back for a second visit and this time the service was a little faster and the food was the same quality. Would definitely go back if I find myself in the area again.

Total garbage. Don't put your eating utensils down for a second, or the bill will be pushed in your face and you will be shown the door. Recently ate there and got sick all the next day. Makes me wonder what i was served. Save your money and pass on this place

As a military spouse I have eaten at my fair share of sushi restaurants. I love, love this one. By far my favorite. It is always quite and service is good. I will absolutely continue to eat at this restaurant.

Our favorite place for sushi! We go there about once or twice a month and are never disappointed! The staff is friendly and engaging. Our favorites include the Titanic,Owner's special and Sunset Roll. Tuna Su is a great appetizer and always served differently... WE LOVE THIS PLACE -- We also have had sushi in cities like NYC and Miami...Kyoto compares favorably! for those who gave poor reviews of this restaurant, I think they go thinking Dothan couldn't possibly have a decent sushi restaurant and don't even really respond accurately..

We love this restaurant. Everything is reliably excellent. The owner and his wife are there all the time to make sure everything runs as it should. They and the staff are very friendly. The food is great. We've eaten sushi all over the United States and this is as good as it gets.

Decent sushi for a small town..service isn't great..I think they have their wives/family members doing the serving and when it is busy they will be overworked...go when it isn't busy
