The views and atmosphere here are amazing! Lunch sandwiches are pretty decent, although pricey. But for breakfast they serve microwaved fake eggs?! For a deli that is very very weak, how hard could it be to cook eggs to order? And the bagels and bread selections are not super fresh and yummy like they could be. McQuade's market in town has wayy better fresh bread and bagels, why not work with them somehow??

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Possible Food Poisoning Warning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A group of friends and I spent last weekend on a trip through CT and RI. We all ate the same meals over the 3 day trip, except when we had lunch on Saturday at the East Ferry Market & Deli. One friend ordered the Crab Salad Sandwich but without the bread, and the dish came out with crab salad on a bed of romaine. The rest of the group ordered sandwiches which were quite good. The guy who ordered the crab sandwich became violentely ill about two hours after he consumed the crab salad. He didn't touch the romaine, he's a bit of a picky eater. His symptoms included vomiting, watery diarrhea, abdominal pain, stomach cramps, fever, and fatigue. While obviously it is hard to definitively point to the crab salad as the cause of this, it is very likely. We had all eaten the same meals prior to this lunch and he is the only one that got sick after eating the crab salad. Great view, location, value, and the sandwiches were tasty, but I would like to know if they are strictly following the HACCP approach to food safety.

I challenge you to find a deli selling $9 sandwiches with a better view. Munch on your greek wrap while watching the yachts cruise past the Newport Bridge. I don't know how anyone can find fault with this place. My kids, while not picky eaters, have very high standards for sandwiches...because I love making creative wraps and sandwiches at home. The white bread was cut thick and made for a killer toasted BLT, the rather boring Roast beef and swiss that my youngest chose was stacked bigger than his 10yr old mouth could handle...which had a wonderful side affect - SILENCE! My daughters greek wrap, was in her own words - I can not find anything I would change about this, it's perfect. Thanks for forcing me to step up my game EFM&D! Eat Well Providence...eat your sandwiches in style.

Great little spot in Jamestown with a beautiful view of the harbor. Sandwiches are delicious!! Pretty wide selection of reasonably priced choices. Love coming here in the summer. So nice.

I've been going here since I was tiny. Always quick and easy to place an order. Such a quaint little deli with the best view. Can't understand all the iffy reviews

3 1/2 stars. We have only been there in winter for a glorious view of the bay while eating delicious blueberry muffins and excellent coffee. Tiny inside.

Wow, definitely a mistake coming here. Wanted a sandwich on a Sat... Simple roast beef on wheat and a turkey - had no idea it would be over 40 minutes to get it. Rude service, lackadaisical attitudes. Don't eat here. Should have asked for a refund rather than wasting time waiting.

Great location and very fresh ingredients with a very extensive sandwich menu. Loved it so much we went two days in a row last week. We will be back for sure.

My family and I went here this weekend. The sandwiches were awesome, we got the black bean wrap, thanksgiving sandwich, and the corned beef sandwich. I also ordered a iced chai tea which was yummy but the cashier forgot about it until I went back and asked after we had started eating our sandwiches. The reviews are correct regarding the staff, they are not very welcoming and when I asked about the tea it was like I had never ordered it with no apologies for not completing the order. Our friends were with us and similarly got their sandwiches and not the muffin for the kids which requires no cooking. When my friend asked them about it the response was the same with no apology for forgetting. Good food but poor service.

Great deli sandwiches and fresh coffee! I love the little place right on the water as well, so relaxing in the summertime! Small hometown deli, it's unbeatable.

I am redoing my review since last visit was terrible. Cream cheese is Kraft, bagels are old. I burned my hand with coffee since it was so darn full and when I asked for ice and told them the coffee was extremely hot the snappy girl said Yeah that's why its called hot coffee. They have lost my business.

It's a neat little place that sees a lot of foot traffic because of it's location. They have outdoor and indoor seating, as well. I've had a lot of the sandwiches here and they are good quality at a fair price. You order by number from about 20 standing options, but they are happy to make you any combo you want with the ingredients. A definite plus for you vegetarians and vegans. My vegan friend loves this place as it's one of the only places in town she can eat, usually a hummusy, onion, tomato bit of goodness that I myself have tried and liked. The pastry is all fresh and moist, I enjoy the blueberry crumbcake and carrot muffins myself. I can't speak for the coffee, as I don't drink it, but I like the smoothies. All in all it's a busy little place, with quick service and a friendly staff.

The best thing about this place is the view. The food is okay, but the prices are fairly high for the sandwiches. The service was terrible, after not getting order correct (twice), the "manager" or young girl in charge finally came out with correct sandwich, wrapped to go(when we were obviously staying and sitting outside), and proceeded to lecture us. I guess we needed to be more patient when it took three tries and 20 minutes to get a sandwich order correct.

The East Ferry Deli was our introduction to Jamestown. We arrived in town last Saturday morning and headed straight to downtown Jamestown to see what there was for lunch options. The East Ferry Deli immediately caught our eye, as it overlooked the beautiful harbor and bridge. They offer about 20 specialty sandwich options, as well as much more. I opted for the #14 (you order by number), which was the hot pastrami sandwich with melted Swiss cheese, red onion and Dijon mustard on rye. It was delicious, moist, and warm. There are also salads, soups, and (cheap!) breakfast sandwiches, although all of their prices are very affordable, especially considering the deli's location and views. Seating is a bit limited, but we were fortunate enough to get a table next to the window, which overlooked the outdoor patio, which overlooked the harbor/marina. It was a great, relaxing, and scenic first lunch in town.

Tasty sandwiches, GREAT coffee. View is fabulous...you're right on the water with a great view of the Pell Bridge and Newport, both when dining outdoors on the patio or inside. I've only been in the offseason so I bet it's kinda mobbed in the summer. Prices are a tad high but it's Jamestown and you're paying a bit for the view...it's an even trade. Service is "okay", seems like this is something of a "summer job for high school kids" kinda place. I've never had problems with botched orders or slow service, but I usually keep my orders simple, too. All in all this is definitely a place my wife and I keep on our list as a good option for Sunday brunchiness.

Best iced coffee ever! We love a good iced coffee so when we travel we try out the coffee shops, delis etc. Hands down the best in the 5 states we were in during our vacation. Fresh coffee, perfect amount of milk and sugar and they make it exactly how you want it. Great service and this place gets crazy busy!

Way overpriced and sandwiches were not very good. I got two half sandwiches and a full sandwich with chips and a drink. Cost me about 32 dollars. The "Italian" I got was boring, not very good, and rather sad. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing?

East Ferry Deli you rock! Your sandwiches are beyond compare especially my personal favorite #1. Service is quick, the staff friendly and the roast beef is lean. Whats not to like?

Great outdoor seating area, with a beautiful view of the bay and the Newport bridge; but WAYYY overpriced for a sandwich ($10), and service is slow.

A strong wind off the water blew me towards the East Ferry Market and Deli. Busy place with a pleasant atmosphere. I had the Hot Corned Beef Sandwich on Rye $6.95, it had thin sliced fresh red onions, sauerkraut and honey mustard on it. The mustard made it really tasty. They were a little skimpy on the meat but it didn't affect my enjoyment of the sandwich. The 8 oz. Clam Chowder in a styrofoam bowl was pretty good but expensive at $3.50. They just have canned and bottled drinks no fountain. Wooden seats were comfortable enough and the view from the front deck from the plastic chairs toward the marina is pleasing. They had lots of good looking premade calzones, cookies, pastries and muffins in the display case. --- I went again for breakfast, I had a sausage, egg and cheese cheddar bagel $3.50 which was good and a Cream Cheese cinnamon roll $2.50 which was very good because of the yummy icing( I wish the whole thing had icing all over it, GIMME MORE!). Make sure they heat up the roll for you. According to their website they'll give you a free coffee if you give them your email, I didn't try it, maybe you'll have the guts.

Great sandwiches, quality ingridients, pleasant staff, fast service, of course, great views. Lots of locals eat here too, so you know it's good.

Location, location, location. You can get sandwiches, coffee, and all types of tasty, butt enlarging treats. Then you take them outside and eat on the patio that overlooks east passage Narragansett Bay. You can see Newport, the Pell Bridge, sailboats and freighters go by. The food is actually what you would expect from this type of place. The 5 stars are for the location and the view.

We have eaten lunch a few times over the last few years. Te service is great The food is delicious and well prepared. The Deli is located across from the harbor and the view is beautiful. Nice place to stop for lunch if you are traveling to or from Newport as well.. Really like this place!

I hate to use the phrase 'tourist trap' but... In the summer, this place is packed to the rafters. In the off-season, not so much (seems most go to Slice of Heaven). Coffee is passable. Pastries are all store-bought. Breakfast sandwiches are made assembly-line style (store bought egg disks, no fresh eggs). The one thing I will give them a high mark for is the lunch sandwich menu - try the Thanksgiving sandwich. Lots of other good ones, too.

A world class water view of the Jamestown harbor and Newport bridge with tables inside and out along with a great assortment of sandwiches, salads and pastries make this a definite will go again spot.

Go here for coffee and pastries only. East Ferry offers a great location, outdoor seating, and views of the 'gansett. But it shivers me timbers when a specialty sandwich comes with a side of -- pickles. Nothing against those devilish little delights, but for $10 I want a stellar sandwich with a side of something (read: potato chips). We tried #8 (turkey) and #15 (crab salad sandwich) and both were good. But a simple compliment would have made this better for the price. I get it, it's a quality ingredient sandwich, but you'll do more business otherwise.

Long, slow line. Bagel and egg sandwich was stale and. Tasty-less. But, the worst is the lack of safe food handling practice. The cashiers also make the food. No gloves or hand washing between running the register, handling cash and touching food. And they really handle the food. Gross. Not much else around but avoiding d if possible.

Visiting here in the dead of winter is probably a very different experience than high summer season. Still, Service was fast and friendly. The scones and muffins were first- rate. The varieties were so good I tried almost every one. Each one was fresh, perfectly baked, and delicious. Their coffee was also fresh brewed and yummiriffic. Also tried the clam chowder. Good rich flavor, lots of goodies in there. It would really be great if they made a Rocky Point style chowder. I've only been here once, but I highly recommend it.

East Ferry has great coffee! My husband loves their sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches and their bagels are delicious (when they have them) but they always run out of them. They definitely need to stock up on more bagels on the weekends. The line is always long and it takes anywhere between 15-25 minutes to order and sometimes longer on the weekends(I guess that's because there are no other options on the island). It is a beautiful location. It is nice to sit and watch the boats.

Wow what a view!! There is a patio area right outside the deli where you can enjoy your food with a view of the newport bridge and the jamestown harbor. There are many different sandwich selections and it's not too pricey compared to other eateries in the area. Overall a great spot to check out! Can't wait to go back and try their breakfast.

They must think since the location is so great the food and customer service can be less than mediocre. My first time there, not super busy, no line. I asked to try the crab salad first, (which the cashier girl acted like I asked something completely difficult and unreasonable) she brought a small sample and it was pretty good so I ordered a crab salad sandwich to go, which I thought for $8.75 was going to be on a nice roll. I get home and its on flimsy white wonder bread. I take one bite and realize the bread is full of mold! So disgusting! I really don't know how anyone (especially someone preparing and serving food to the public) wouldn't have noticed this. It wasn't even busy when I ordered it. I take it back the next day, and after waiting on a line 10 deep, the girl literally didn't even apologize once, was so rude and just short of threw $9.60 at me like she was used to giving refunds. (Don't know how she got $9.60, guessing because of tax). She just threw the sandwich out (instead of maybe showing someone in charge so that doesn't happen again) Never so much as ordering a coffee there again. Run by young girls who don't look a day over 21, cashiers make the food. They are understaffed, unprofessional, and I deeply question the food safety. Giving them even one star is a serious stretch.
