Apparently back in the day, the R & S Keystone Diner was a hot spot to get some food. From my experience, it seems as if reminiscing these old times is the only thing holding this place up. It surely isn't the food. The salad bar is puny and featured nary a fresh item-- my guess is that they must have an industrial strength can opener in the kitchen in order to keep the salad bar stocked. When food is fresh, it's just really obvious. You can taste it, you can see it. Especially when it comes to seafood and vegetables. Most of the dishes at R & S feature both of those, so it doesn't take a James Beard award-winning palate to tell that the food at R & S just isn't fresh. For a restaurant that offers a large selection of water-sourced animals, the seafood items are terribly bland and overcooked. The seasoning on the flounder seemed to have only the effect of making it appear appetizing, instead of actually making it appetizing. The vegetables and side dishes are most likely reheated from a frozen state. Should you actually choose to go, most dinners hover around the $10 mark, expect about $15 per person when all is said and done. Frankly, the whole experience at R & S is just really depressing. To the point that they should offer as a side a choice of Prozac or Zoloft or Cymbalta. I can't even bring myself to really fire off insults at the R & S like I do in some one-star reviews. You see, everyone there is quite nice: friendly staff focused on their tasks, pleasant elderly people who've probably been going there for decades, ordering the same thing, their tastebuds having given up years ago, consigned to being passed over by inferior fare. The interior features wallpaper, decorations, furniture, that likely hasn't been moved since the 70s. There are some places where the experience is just so charming that it can help boost less-than-average cuisine, the atmosphere and interaction leading to a higher rating than what would be discerned from the food alone, but I can't put R & S in this category. I suppose the R & S is indeed catering to it's clientele. They all looked very pleased to be there; I guess I'm just not one of them. And I further suppose that neither the R & S nor their clientele care about what I write on the "interweb" with my fancy computer gadget.

R&S is a Sellersville institution. The locals are loyal to a fault - often causing lines out the door and down the sidewalk waiting for a table on a Sunday. The food is standard, suburban diner food, with a hint of PA Dutch mixed in. The coffee is the best diner coffee I've had in a long time. Only complaint that the 'creamer' container on the table was full of "milk" and not creamer.

The first clue was we were seated immediately - even though it was peak dinner time on a Friday the dining room was less than half full. Waitress seemed somewhat offhand. Food arrived in reasonable time. Two at our table who ordered steak immediately found it was so salty that it was inedible. They ate less than 10% on their plates. When they told the waitress she just said "oh" and walked away not to be seen again till she presented the check which showed they had deleted the cost of the meat but added their estimate of the cost of the vegetables! This managed to make it close to the original price. When we found the owner and complained she just said she would "tell the cook" and walked off. The rest of the food at our table was also voted to be unappetizing and overpriced.

Sub-par food at outrageous prices! How is this place still in business?! Only giving one star because zero isn't an option!

What ever happened to good friendly service. I have never been happy when I go here. It all starts at the front door for me. If you can't engage me with a happy and friendly hostess, then it only goes downhill from there. This morning a young man host was told by his supervisor where to go with us (which side of the building), My husband held up two fingers for the two of us and asked for a table. He walked about 6 feet ahead of us. He tossed (yes, I said tossed) the menus on the table and went over to talk with the waitress. No acknowledgement at all for our visit. A friendly interaction, hello how are you, enjoy your meal, NOTHING! If a restaurant can't even perform the simplest of jobs, than why should I spend my money there. And money we spent, the breakfast meal total came to 22.00 plus, including 2 sodas. We spend less at the Chinese buffet for lunch and get more smiles and food, for anybody. I guess Im becoming some what of a demanding person, and good polite service is too much for me to afford. I enjoy the food, don't get me wrong, but its all about service for me, and I walk out of there mad every time. Bunch of unhappy, grumpy people who have not pride in their work. Polite service, occasionally from the waitresses, but the staff is overall lacking in good manners, and it all starts with the hostess or host. Come on folks, a smile is not gonna kill you. If you make me happy, i might enjoy myself enough to stay for desert. YES IT MATTERS!!!!!!!!!!

Eat breakfast there once in a while. Food is good and they have a $2,00 special during the week that can't be beat. Service is usually very good.

A fine diner with a varied menu. Has good service. Good breakfast menu and the dinner menu is enough that eight of us found something we liked with no overlap.

We went to the R & S once and will never go back. There was not one thing on the menu that my vegetarian husband could eat except a salad. We asked for a baked potato for him; it was lunchtime and they wouldn't make one. They also were no longer serving breakfast, which is a usual go-to saving grace for him at places like this. The food was mediocre at best. There was a palpable attitude toward vegetarians as well. I can't imagine why they are always packed, but my mid-80s aunt and uncle think this place is great. They can have it.

The Keystone Diner has one of the the best Sunday breakfast buffets in the area. The selection is fantastic and the price can't be beat. I have been at Keystone dozens of times for breakfast and lunch and have never had a bad experience. When you see how busy this place is you will know why it is one of the best diners around.
