Avoid this place! The woman tending bar is a total sourpuss, has not had a happy day in her life. Just a totally miserable person. I asked about a particular dish and her answer was "Its good, do you want to try it or not?" Service was very poor. Empty bar and it took forever to get drink refills as well as the food. Food was a mix, one good, other one not so much. I was still chewing and the plates were removed, since she wanted to go home. I noticed the same thing the previous time we were here about two weeks ago. When it came time for the bill we got a number, no check or anything else. I figure she was screwing us on the check, and she got shorted on the tip, yeah well it's a two way street, I will not go back. It's a nice old bar, but the service is lousy and the either owner does not care or just doesn't get it since he was right there talking to his friends? Go to the Deer Lake Pub, much, much better service and food with a caring, and engaged owner.

One of our favorite places on the patio, great food. Very casual and relaxing. Had the filet Oscar this evening, very good.

If you're looking for the closest thing to "Cheers" and happen to be in the rather rural Schuylkill County Pennsylvania, The Orwigsburg Inn is the spot. You'll find a few locals hanging out at the rustic wood bar, a friendly bartender and the owner coming around to ask how things are going. Go there more than once and they'll "know your name" (give them a handful of times before they start yelling your name when you walk through the door) Hardwood floors and a friendly vibe make the Orwigsburg Inn a quaint, casual spot to bring the family for dinner.

I've never been a big fan of the Inn. The menu is extremely huge and so is the specials menu. There's no way all the food can be fresh. Food comes out very slow. Don't go here if you're in any bit of a hurry. The inside is very dated and reminds me of an elderly person's home. There's so much stuff that it clutters the atmosphere. The cloth napkins and tablecloths add a cool touch. The outside dinning is laid back and peaceful with soft music playing. It's overall a much better experience outside. The bar is awkward with an older crowd. The service is very laid back. It's not a place to party or have more than maybe one or two beverages. I'm not a huge fan of the food. The specials are typically fresher and come out much faster from the kitchen. I now only order the specials with the chicken pot pie being my favorite. The all you can eat shrimp is good but not very flavorful. An overall 3 star experience.

Have been back several times since my last review. Probably the best steak in Schuylkill County. Can't wait for the patio to open in the spring.

I used to wash dishes here in my teenage years. I can tell you the kitchen area is as clean as it gets! The owner may appear to be "full of himself" as another yelper wrote, but I think they were mistaken. Danny is confident that his establishment is one of the best restaurants in the area! The employees work very hard to satisfy you, and they deliver! The food is consistent every time, and is always AWESOME! The prices are little high, but the quality and service are reflected in the cost. If you and yours need a night of good food, make this the place. I've never left disappointed!

Fantastic food, great service. Friendly staff, and an owner who takes an interest in his patrons. I recommend this place highly, and I will be back whenever I'm in the room. Most of the stuff is homemade, and the prices are reasonable. Try it, you'll like it.

Charming old building. But, how can you mess up breakfast? It's the easy meal to prepare. I asked if the omelets could be prepared using egg whites, and the waitress responded, "he doesn't do them like that, he uses eggbeaters." Ok, well, my husband ordered eggs, sunny-side up. So, clearly, there are whole eggs in the establishment. Is it that difficult to separate the yolks? Either the waitress was too lazy to ask the chef, or the chef is not in the least concerned with pleasing the customers. That, alone, was enough to ensure we won't be back. There are other restaurants. But wait, there's more. The owner did periodically walk through and ask if everything was ok. Nice touch; until we saw him go into the kitchen and through the doors we could see him handling food. Apparently, he cooks and then walks around in the same clothes. Not even an apron. Yuck.

It's sad that the food is ok but the owner is FULL of himself and thinks the world revolves around him. The hostess looks miserable and never smiles. This is not the place to go to in the area. There are NO drink specials and the menu is priced as FINE dining in a small town.
