Top notch amazingly delicious food, great drinks & a wonderful laid back atmosphere is The Brick House Grill. My husband & I frequent this establishment at least once a week. It's our 'go to' place. We each have our favorites. Mine is the very comforting wild mushroom & asparagus penne with shrimp. My husband has too many to list. He is a big fan of the Specials Menu. Loves to try what's new & fresh. Chef Joe's burgers & steaks are the best around. Perfectly seasoned steaks done to order & served with garlic mashed potatoes & grilled zucchini so hard to pass over! The burgers done your way are the tastiest burgers I've ever had! Seared on the outside & so juicy on the inside...I recommend asking for extra napkins when enjoying one! If seafood is your thing then you'll be pleasantly surprised at the most delicious fish dishes I have ever tried. Fresh & perfectly cooked. They offer inventive & delicious specials every week. His use of seasonal produce & local farm raised meats in unique as well as simply cooked ways is hard to beat in any other Schuylkill County restaurant. You'll feel most welcomed by the friendly staff & bartenders. Extremely knowledgeable about the menu & quick to recommend something if you can't decide. The owner & chef Joe is a hands on guy. You will enjoy his food as well as a quick hello & friendly conversation. No matter when you stop by for a drink or delicious satisfying meal Joe is around & happy to suggest a good beer or new dish he's been working on. I highly recommend trying The Brick House Grill. It may just become your 'go to' place of choice!

Born and raised in Schuylkill Haven, this place is an absolute God-send for when we come back to visit family and are looking for something more than wings/pizza/subs/takeout for a meal. The atmosphere is very warm with dark woods and brick. Have always had great service, most times owner Joe is on duty and we appreciate his warm and welcoming presence. Lovely New American style menu with a serviceable wine list and an ever expanding beer and cocktail list that have provided some nice surprises for us. Love their specials, last night's striped bass was delicious. Fresh, seasonal ingredients and ample portions with very reasonable prices. We appreciate that they have everything from appetizers to burgers/wraps to full entrees, it suits a crowd very well. Weekends get super busy, they do take reservations so make one, especially if you have a larger group.

Went here with another couple. Two of us ordered the Black and Bleu Penne. My friend got 4 pieces of steak; I had to dig to find 2 pieces. The beef that was present was grisly and hard to chew. We brought it to the attention to our waitress. She apologized and brought some more steak. It was a bit better, but the beef was cut in huge chunks, so it was hard to eat with the pasta. Had to be cut. It would be better if they sliced the grilled steak on top for a better presentation. The shrimp were plentiful and nicely cooked. The sauce on the penne was amazingly good. My husbands roasted chicken was very good. Because we weren't pleased with the steak in our two dishes, they comped both meals! This impressed us and we will be back when we are in town!

Settle in! The service is S-L-O-W!!!!!! Food is average. Sorry, but when the wait is this long it takes away from the experience. Screwed up the check to make things worse.

We had dinner with friends on valentines day. Food & service was excellent. I recommend the salmon special. Much improved wine selection. I highly recommend the brickhouse.

Ate here twice each time ordering one of their burgers and both times they were excellent. Cooked to perfection just the way I ordered it and the flavor was out of this world. Bar prices over priced and almost ridiculous don't plan on to many drinks because our bar bill was twice the amount of our food and we only had two drinks each.

Ate here with a party of nine. The service and server (Alyssa G.) was very attentive, courteous and professional. 5 out of 5. The atmosphere was clean and nice. The ambiance is a little lackluster for what is seemingly supposed to be bit upscale. 3 out of 5. The beer and wine selection was pretty good, not stellar but definitely good. 3 out of 5. The food generally speaking was very delicious tasting, and the presentation was good as well. There were a few minor hiccups. The ghost scallop dish was delicious except the scallops and bacon were a bit undercooked which was a real shame. The scallops in the scallop rissoto entree were not undercooked but the sun dried tomato's in the rissoto seemed a bit over cooked and chewy. Between the whole party we had a large variety of dishes, and I would have no trouble recommending any of them to anyone. Food was 3.75 out of 5. Dessert was delicious also. Portion size was as it should be as far as how much desert you should eat. Desert is 4 out 5. Overall the food is pricey but it is good food. I would return here again and fully intend to. Overall I would give it a 3.75

Not much of a dinner menu, mostly common lunch type foods like wraps and burgers. Got the Cajun Flank steak. It had zero flavor. The fries are frozen. This place isn't cheap, frozen fries are unacceptable! I sent it back. My husband got the crab cakes, they were tasteless and burned on top. They have some craft beers in bottles, not much on tap. I dropped something on the floor under the table and it was covered with food, candy wrappers and some kind of liquid. This is the place to go if you like over-priced bland food.

They have some of the best tasteing specials around. They use local foods on some of the specials and the chefs have fun with the food. Joe is an awesome owner and makes u feel like u are family.

This is our other favorite local restaurant...a little more upscale than the usual eatery and to us the food is well worth the money. Great burgers and sandwiches and the dinners are simply fabulous. Owner Joe Mattera is definitely a customer oriented chef/owner. We have had some very special times here and Joe and his staff are tops. Great atmosphere and always a great selection of craft beers on tap. If you ever have a problem here as some people have stated, Joe will make it right...give him the chance.

We ate here last night! This place is always a hit for us when we go! Been here a couple of times now over the past couple of years the quality of food is always good. Had the Wild Mushroom and Asparagus w/Penne. The flavor was excellent and the pasta cooked perfect Al Dente. A nice size portion. Our waitress was charming, polite and attentive. Had a Dirty Martini had better for less cost! Drinks usually don't affect my scoring and it's not affecting it now. Only negative had a hard time signing on to internet and getting a review on but this isn't a first!

We've always had fairly great experiences here. It's more of a modest "high class" atmosphere as compared to other restaurants in the area. The menu is affordable with just enough variety. The outdoor seating is a nice touch, with live music at times. The food is slightly above average. I have never received something I didn't enjoy, and I've tried a good bit of the menu. It's nice that they have a full service bar, making for a nice night out. The service is what keeps me from going back more frequently. Sometimes it is great and other times horrendous. One visit about a year ago, my husband and I waited almost an hour after we finished our food until our payment was complete. We could hear our server flirting with men at the bar, completely ignoring us. It was like we were a nuisance to her. It's really hard to forget such a horrendous experience, so we've only been back a few times since.

Generous 5 star for the food quality and variety, however the wait times can become insane (this is the greatest drawback for the place). As I've stated in previous reviews, good places to eat are hard to come by in schuylkill, but this is a far cry from settling for a lesser evil. Plenty of sorts of burgers and wraps under $10 if you don't want something too fancy, and steaks, salads, and pastas for full dinners and gatherings. Desserts are okay, but not their specialty, however their wings are cooked crispy and well (mm mm). I'd describe the place as upscale american cuisine, without breaking the bank.

WILL NOT RETURN AND DO NOT RECOMMEND! Friday night, husband and I just had our taxes prepared and needed a quick bite since we hadn't eaten since lunch. Yes it was late when we arrived, around 10pm, they were closing at 11pm. We had no intention of staying and hanging out or keeping anyone passed closing, just really needed food. As our waitress Alyssa arrived at our table she was tying her apron on, clearly thinking she was done with tables for the evening. With a quick and very annoyed tone she said hihowareyouwhatcanigetyoutodrink. Ok, this is gonna be a great dining experience I can see. After getting our drinks she asked if we were ready to order. My main man said no and that he needed a minute. I think we got about ten seconds and she returned. I placed my order and in a hurry main man ordered a burger since he wasn't ready. Get our food, burger a bit undercooked, noticed this after biting into it and slicing it in half himself. Oh and did I mention he asked for no tomato and it arrived with tomato. Sends it back since it wasn't fully cooked. Ok now this is where I draw the line, same burger arrives in half on the same bun! EEEEEWWWW, they really just put a burger that had been partly consumed back on their grill and returned it to him, with more tomato! Half the time we were eating Alyssa was conversing with her friends at the bar. I'll be honest, we always tip 20 percent but this was our 1 exception, no way were we going there. I contacted a manager the next day to let her know about our experience. She did ask to take my name and number and get back to me to discuss it further but I told her we aren't interested in trying to get anything out of them, that we just wanted to make her aware. I do appreciate her attempt to rectify the situation but our experience with Alyssa completely turned us off. I really wanted to like this place, seemed clean and thought it would be something a bit more upscale for this area but after Friday night I just can not return or recommend this place to my fellow diners. Good luck with Alyssa should you have the pleasure to have her as your server!

If you plan on going here, plan on spending a good bit of money. Nothing on the menu is under 10.00 not even the starters. The drinks are the cheapest thing here at 7.00 a pop for a small glass. I had the Ghost Scallops starter. They were perfectly cooked but at 12.00 for a starter and only 4 scallops I was disappointed. The sauce it comes with gives the burn you would expect from ghost chillies, with an alfredo like texture. Pairs well with the scallops which are wrapped in bacon. The salty caramel drink delivers just what it sounds like it will a creamy caramel drink with salt on the rim, all in all probably the best martini I have had but I think 7.50 was a bit expensive. The atmosphere is nice dimly lit and pleasant enough waiters I suppose.

After sitting down and looking at the specials and regular menu, I was excited and looking forward my meal. I did notice the prices were much higher than I would expect for a restaurant in this area, I have no problem paying for good food and service. BTW, $5.25 for a 12 oz. imported draft is kinda ridiculous. The crab dip appetizer with crostini was good, with real crab and good melting cheeses. I would order it again. I then ordered the seafood trio of shrimp on a skewer, crab cake, and salmon, $22. I ordered a side of sauteed spinach w/ olive oil and garlic and grilled zucchini, both were very good. I can't say the same for my main. The salmon was excellent. I'd recommend it and order it again. The crab cake was a average. Back fin meat, not lump, and a little too much bread crumb. Pretty small. At least it wasn't frozen. Then the shrimp skewer. This was not good, it was bad. As tender as leather, tasted of iodine, with no seasoning. The saving grace was that the server immediately offered to have the chef make another. The final summary is simple.....average food priced at above average prices. Dinner for 4, two beers, 2 apps, 4 entrees = $112. Btw, the service was very good....

I was pleasantly surprised by the Brick House. Started off with the shrimp skewer-very good. I could of had that as my main meal. The Cobb was satisfactory, although way too big. The grilled veggies that came with the rib eye was my favorite. Yummy!! The rib eye was okay, definitely not something I would order again. If I were to go back I would get the shrimp skewer with the grilled veggies...I If you are in the area and need a place to eat-stop in

Just ate at The Brick House Grill today. We showed up for lunch at 1:30 with a party of 13 - 8 adults, 2 kids, and 3 babies. The staff accommodated us immediately by joining tables together in a quiet section of the restaurant. They served our group with ease and speed. We had drinks within a few minutes. After ordering, our food was out in record time, and all at the same time! Our party enjoyed burgers, wraps, salads, and fare from the kids menu. Everything was delicious...especially the sweet potato fries! All in all it was a wonderful experience. Restaurants don't always accommodate large parties without reservations with ease, but The Brick House Staff didn't even blink an eye. Would definitely go back!

Not too shabby for the area, where good food is hard to come by. The shrimp skewer appetizer was very good. All of my grilled veggies were also good. Rib Eye was ok as was the cobb salad. Live acoustic music outside would have been nicer if it wasn't amplified - would rather be able to talk then yell during dinner.
