What a great place! This reminded me of the bakeries back home. Everyone was so nice and the pastries, cakes, and kreuners were fresh and so good. I will definitely visit again.

i ordered 60 cupcakes for my daughters birthday party. i wasn't happy with the quality or taste at all. they were very dry... they were loose in the box so they were all over the place. there is suppose to be a little icing that they put on the bottom of each cupcake to hold them in place. the bottoms were swished on most and a few had the tops sliced off and just set back on!

It's a small bakery in a strip mall near a laundromat. Okay staff of young girls, not very friendly. Nothing we tried over the few visits was very good. Were the cannoli filled with cream or cheese? We couldn't tell. The cookies had no flavor. The cakes were a bit dry. The pies were pretty good. The danish were cinnamon-y and nothing special.

Well, coming from northern New Jersey as the wife and I do, and now living in Virginia, we're both starved for good bakeries. You see, there's no bakeries down here, so when we head up north we're always looking. Last weekend we were in Mongomery County PA for a nieces wedding, and happened upon The Distelfink Bakery at 850 S Valley Forge Road in Lansdale, so needless to say we HAD to stop in. When we walked in the front door we almost broke down and cried! A real honest-to-God bakery! With all the stuff a bakery's SUPPOSED to have! The wife bought 50 pounds of butter cookies, (OK, I'm exagerating), and I bought one of the best looking German chocolate cakes I've ever seen. Brothers and sisters it was one of the best German cakes I've ever had! And those butter cookies! I can usually take or leave butter cookies but I could have finished them all off with no trouble. We dropped said baked goods of at the brides house hoping to have some more later, but no luck. The bridesmaids stopped in and demolished cake and cookies. Well, you KNOW how bridesmaids can get. The day after the wedding we stopped in and got two dozen assorted doughnuts to take to a post-wedding brunch. Vanilla glazed, chocolate glazed, assorted glazed, and some good old-fashioned "sinkers." As soon as we opened the box the next sound we heard was the assembled guests vacuuming them up. So to say they liked them is putting it mildly. So the next time we're in the area we're definately stopping at the Distelfink again. Great stuff, charming staff, (remember, the staff anywhere is going to respond to YOUR level of enthusiasm), and an all-round great experience. Support your local bakery! When they're gone you'll be stuck with supermarket stuff like we are, and it's just not the same.

Just moved to the area and I kept seeing the bakery and wanting to stop in but never actually did, until.... I hosted a baby shower and wanted a dessert tray. Came on to Yelp to find one in the area and lo and behold, there was Distelfink. I ordered a dessert tray for about 40 people. Cream puffs, mini eclairs and mini cannolis. The price was very reasonable especially for how good they were! Received a lot of compliments though I couldn't take credit, obviously. SO happy that I finally had a good reason to stop in and i'll be sure to do so more frequently!

I absolutely love this bakery. I've been coming here since 2006, it is a throwback to the 1950s. If my mother was alive, she be having me get stuff all the time. Try the creme donuts. I dont eat donuts. These are fabulous. My staff loves their cookies, especially Italian. They also have old-fashioned butter pound cake. And Franklin butter cake , the wet kind From the 1960s. They also have delicious cinnamon buns, but the price of flour and sugar has driven their cost to exponentially higher dollars for what you get. Unfortunate. They have several small chocolate cookies that are absolutely melt in your mouth good.

Extremely disappointed with the product we purchased here. What I thought would be more personal and professional, a cupcake cake, half vanilla half chocolate, turned not so well. I was disheartened to find the cake in both flavors was very dry, no moisture what so ever. The icing suppose to be buttercream was so sweet it was sicking sweet. I was thinking purchasing from a bakery rather a supermarket would be better for my daughters 10th Birthday party. I'm sorry I did it now. My daughter and her friends even noticed. Maybe their other baked goods are fabulous but I can't believe that a simple cupcake turned so difficult to please. Sorry for the bad review I wanted this to be so good!
