The only reason this place gets 2 stars is because of the breakfast I had this morning. My lunch was incredibly underwhelming. The service is bad and very slow, like mentally handicapped paraplegic slow. For breakfast, I ordered an omelet with ham and cheese with toast and fresh fruits, that was very good. The omelet was extra hot and fresh, the fruits were juicy and delicious. The toast was a bit on the dark side but that's fine. But this afternoon, wow talk about night and day. The hostess was a rather crusty old woman who disdained speaking for hand gestures. The waitress was a young woman who seemed to be incapable of taking orders with any sort of speed. And apparently they only have one stove or oven or whatever cooking appliances they use, because it took nearly an hour to get a plate of rice pilaf with a grilled chicken breast and asparagus on it. Also it came out very dry, as if they had just had it sit under a heat lamp for that whole hour! The asparagus was limp, and the chicken had a hard crust on it, which it should not have had. And my dish wasn't the only one that was late and/or improperly made. An older couple at the next table over waited just as long if not longer for their order. I could hear them discussing how their food was subpar after they finally received it. Overall impression is that they have an unsatisfactory wait staff that doesn't pay attention to when diners orders are ready to be served. My suggestion is to replace them and train new ones in proper time management and situational awareness. Edit: Seems that it is only the lunch waitress that is sorry. Had dinner there at a later date, the dinner waitress was very skillful and quick. Not much of a talker though, which is fine with me, but some people like to engage with their waitstaff. Also the evening cook is a much better chef.

The Mac and cheese was boxed, the fish was over cooked and dry, the asparagus was soggy with no taste. The worst meal I have ever eaten.

Worst diner food you'll ever have with the staff to match. Find a homeless guy to buy some food from and you'll have a better experience. With food like this I wouldn't buy it again. Road food sucks and this place exemplifies exactly how.

I'm. So. Tired. and I'm in desperate need to use the restroom... I didn't dine here but i did use there restroom and check the restaurant/shop out ... -Restaurant There are a lot of Perkins in Pennsylvania and I'm pretty sure they all open 24 hours just like this one....And I've never had an actually meal here...It's a little more like a diner....but you can get fruits and veggies there and other things besides grease-burgers and fries (although, I think they have those too! -Shop Sells a lot of random things... There's a whole area where there's just a bunch of creepy antiques dolls...which scared me alittle....not a big fan of antique dolls...I guess it's a good place for people who are on the road to stop by grab a bite to eat and purchase a souvenir just because....but i wouldn't bother stopping here again... Fyi- there's a place for truckers to shower as well!

I wish I would have checked yelp sooner. I don't know where to begin. First off our wait was everything but short. Our witness was 17 at best and didn't seem mature enough to handle food orders at all. Besides making awkward conversation, she tried leaving to place the order before even asking me the options for my meal (how I wanted my eggs cooked, etc.). I thought my meal had been sitting under a warming lamp. In fact, I was almost sure of it. We arrived at 7 and ordered shortly after. At eight, our food came. And our bill was time stamped on 7:41. So did she not place our order for about 30 min after taking our order, or did she print the receipt 20 minutes before delivering our food? As a more concrete example, we started seeing other tables around us being served their food before ours, even though they seated AFTER us. Regardless I feel like the food matters despite the sluggishness of the employees here, and had my meal been fresher I would have been more pleased with Perkins. The manager understood our experience and after vocalizing our disappointment with the waitress only taking 25% off the bill, they comp'd the entire check.

It's been a long time since I ate in a place with an honest to god old school waitress. A recent trip into this Perkins made me feel like I was dining as a regular in some greasy spoon back home. My hash browns were a tad dry (fixed with the application of ketchup) but the build-your-own omelet I had (filling was mushrooms, tomatoes and red onions - all drizzled with hollandaise) was absolutely excellent. Fair warning - a large juice here is a LARGE juice. I didn't want the dinky little 6-oz juice that you get most places so unknowingly I ordered a large - kid you not, a 24oz glass of tomato juice arrived at the table. If you are traveling through this way and need a hearty breakfast to get you going for a long day on the road (or to settle a rumbling tummy after to many hours of pavement), I highly recommend stopping in at Perkins - my new go-to place in Breezewood.

Goodness gracious, I thought I could rely on Perkins when making a pit stop, but I was wrong. Perhaps my friends and I hit up Perkins on a bad day, but I've never had such a bad Perkins experience before. The restaurant was freezing, there was no music so that awkward silence filled the room, our waitress disappeared at length and food took forever. When I finally got my omelet, it was topped with nacho cheese. Yes, nacho cheese. Other plates were hot-hot-hot with food that had become chewy and dry underneath warming lamps, I assume. The staff may have been slow, but was at the very least cheery and pleasant. Really the only saving grace of the whole experience. I can't wait to go back to the Perkins that I love and redeem the chain's name.

I felt like I was in bizarro world here. The staff was strange... like maybe everyone drank before coming to work or something. The food was barely edible. I should have had hot dogs and mac & cheese at my house. That would have been 5 stars. Just weird.

Similar to the other reviews this place was odd. The waitress disappeared at long intervals. As someone who needs to eat gluten free I have found that every restaurant I go to either has a gluten free menu or brings out someone who is qualified to recommend gluten free options. This Perkins' response was "No." and the hostess walked away. I asked the waitress about gluten free options but she just said they did not have a menu. I asked to speak with someone in the kitchen to help me choose and the hostess came back and said to order a salad. Okaaay. The salad was fine but the attitude was not. Also it was really cold in there even though there was a space heater not too far away.
