Pretty good stop for lunch. Warm chips & salsa when you order. Taco, burrito & rice for $5.99. Fast & friendly service this afternoon. Wait staff sang Happy Birthday to a young patron while I was there with maracas & tambourine.

Please, try not to use the word "authentic" when you describe what's called a "Cuban Sandwich" that is touted as "The Best Ever Cuban Sandwich." What a joke. You should see what the folks from Tampa are saying about this "crap on a cracker" mockery. Just go to Facebook and check out "You Know Your From Tampa When ..." Why, just look at the photo of the burrito. You know, the one with pineapple in it? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. You can't handle the truth! There will never be an authentic Cuban Sandwich north of Ocala, Florida, because only "real" Cuban bread can be made in Tampa and Miami.

Seriously awful. Maybe I'm spoiled by Philadelphia as far as the Cuban sandwiches but the service in Philly is better and that's really saying something. I will never ever go back here. If you want to wait 20 minutes for someone to greet you and do it rudely then this is the place for you.

I would normally give this restaurant 4 stars. For a normal, American-Mexican restaurant it is close to the best I have ever eaten at. They have a great selection, good service and exceptional food. I have never gotten something here I didn't like. Their tortilla chips seem to be fresher and more crisp than at most Mexican restaurants I have been to - just the right texture. Their salsa is pretty average, but their white cheese dip is amazing. I usually have to watch to make sure I don't fill up on chips and dip before my food comes. I usually get their grilled chicken quesadilla, which has just the right ratio of vegetables, cheese and chicken. For $7-$10 a person my wife and I can eat here and always have leftovers for the next day. The thing that pushes Mi Casa to 5 stars is the amazing people that work there. I can't tell you all the things they have done for people in the community. Me and my wife do a fundraiser there every year to raise support and awareness for a health related cause. Their willingness to help us, donate a percentage of their profits to us and be a part of the effort is amazing. Recently, when my wife's father was in the hospital for an extended period of time they sent hot food to the hospital for our entire family! It was able to serve 10 people! Trust me when I tell you you will not find better people than owners, Miguel and Laura. Once you go there a few times its hard not to get to know the people there and want to go back every few weeks to see them. Can't say enough about them!

The only reason i am giving it three stars is because the food was good. As for the service, terrible! We live 10 minutes away from here but will most likely never be back because of the service. We were seated (my boyfriend myself and our 2 children) there were only 4 other tables of people in the whole place so it wasn't busy, it took over 15 minutes to even get drinks, we had already had someone bring us chips and salsa but no drinks! Then when she came as she was taking our drink order she turned around and started talking to her friends at another table and blew us completely off! As we sat and waited for her to be done talking we finally got our drinks. By the time we got our food the drinks were empty, but we couldn't ask for refills because our waitress and another were in the corner talking and laughing, and a gentlemen from the back brought our food. We didn't see our waitress again until we were almost done and by that point we didn't want anything else just to get out of there. Good food, horrible service.

We live in Hartville and go to Mi Casa about once a week or so. Friendly fast service and great food with large portions.

I had the tortilla soup that my mom has been raving about for YEARS. It really was the best I ever had. It is broth based, not cream and I prefer that. Very fresh with cilantro, a ton of shredded chicken, rice and onion. They give you a pretty large bowl and it has this delicious fried chip things on top. I actually removed most of them because there were too many. I also had a ala carte chicken enchilada. The red sauce was kind of sweet. Perhaps a mole sauce. It was OK. The table chips were good, the salsa was a bit watery with a mesquite flavor. Prices were reasonable. For my bowl of soup, a drink and the enchilada about $7. I had leftover soup to take too. I will be craving this soup in the future, I know it. The service was OKAY. They were great at getting the food out quickly, but drink refills were a issue. Also, HARTVILLE IS DRY so do NOT expect a margarita. EPIC FAIL on the part of Hartville, not this places fault. I'll be back.

The sign said grand opening, so we decided to give it a shot. We stopped for lunch after my oldest had a church function up the street from here. The decor was typical for a Mexican place and I think the building may have been a former Taco Bell but I can't be sure. This is not fast food though. Now to the food. The chips and salas were decent. The chips were warm and the salsa, although not as chunky as I like, was pretty good. It had good spice and you could detect a hint of cumen of which gave it slight smokey flavor. I had the beef taco, enchilada and burrito. It was not awful but it was slightly just OK. I must admit that it was very bland and lacked flavor. That includes the beef filling and the sauce that accompanied it. I also found it odd it didn't come with any sides such as beans or rice. My wife felt the same about her dish. I think she had a taco and a chalupa with a side of rice. She agreed that it was very bland. The kids were happy with there chix nuggets and fries. Overall, this place deserves two stars for food but I bumped it a star because our server was great. She was very polite and attentive throughout our meal. Our drinks were never empty and neither were the chips and salsa. The prices were on par with your typical Mexican joint in the area. I'm not too familiar with the area as far as food fare goes but I would guess there are better choices such as the Hartville Kitchen just down the street.

I was surprised with this little place in Hartville. I was back in my hometown and didn't think I would be eating at a new restaurant in town. On a Saturday night they have this cute older couple singing along with a keyboard. It wasn't great but it was entertaining and was cool to see something like this. I heard that this makes it more authentic because it is common to do this in Mexico. They also have great decor in this place. They have pinatas hanging from the ceiling, which they sell. The food was great. I ordered the Chimi- Churo which had queso cheese poured over chimichanga type dish. They had a choice of shredded chicken, beef, pork, steak, or grilled chicken. The grilled chicken and steak are $1 more ($8.49). I really enjoyed this dish and would get it again. No one at the table had any complaints as we were all happy with our meals. Their menu is insane and everyone can find something they like. I would like to try their Cuban sandwich since they claim it to be world famous. They also say they have great black bean soup. I would like to go back and try some more of their cuisine. Their guac was decent so that was a good sign for their entire menu. The service was pretty good but they did forgot to bring us silverware until we asked for it after they had brought us our entrees. They don't have alcohol since Hartville is dry so some people we consider this a negative. The place seems to do well with a good base of locals who enjoy this food. their tacos are definitely made like they should be. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting Mexican in the Canton/Akron area.

Mi Casa is a Mexican restaurant in Hartville, Ohio. They started out as a smaller restaurant in the strip mall across the street, then moved to a stand-alone building a few years later. They've survived in Hartville because of their good, authentic Mexican food and friendly staff. Mi Casa is constantly innovating. Watch for menu additions posted on the door. They recently added black beans and a fat-free bean. New menu items show up as specials first. A sign on the outside of the restaurant claims they have the best Cuban sandwich. I tried it today for the lunch special. It is an incredible amount of food for $6.95. It is almost the size of four sandwiches, with two kinds of meat, fresh avocado, onions, tomatoes. The black beans on the side was a giant bowl of black bean soup with crumbled cheese and tortilla strips on the side. Good food, good value. I've had the fish tacos with lime in the past, with lime and they rock. They have a friendly staff. The owner is going to be waiting on one section of the restaurant, so you will see her greeting everyone with a smile and when you go back a second time, she will recognize you as a friend. You will get a basket of warm chips and two small bowls of salsa before you order. The food is usually out before those are gone, but refills are available. For the downside, they are located in a dry precinct, which means that you aren't going to get a margarita here.

I love the food and the service...my favorite restaurant in Hartville. The staff are quick to get the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa to the table and if ANY employee walks by and sees the chips or salsa are gone they'll immediately refill. I love the teamwork of the staff, i don't see waitresses or waiters in conflict just a real positive vibe. Obviously, there's great leadership in the restaurant and the service is a reflection of that. I was surprised to see a complaint about portion size and price in the reviews; however, I believe both are fair, there's definate value during lunch hours and anyone on a budget I would definately encourage to go at that time. Oh, and the food is really good!!! : )

Flavor was some of the best I've had in the area. Service left a bit to be desired. Portions were VERY small and given the price, I'm sorry to say, Mi Casa is probably one of the worst values in the area.

This is by far the worst food and service I have had since moving to Ohio! Maybe its because I have been spoiled growing up in Southern California? Or perhaps it was the absolute LACK of customer service? The price of dishes were laughable for what you received, the quality of food, and the quality of service. After my family was finished with their lunch and I still sat waiting for my dish to arrive the waitress came to check on our table. Looking my straight in the eye she asked very uninterestedly "Did you enjoy your food?". I might have if I had received it and I certainly did not when it arrived cold and stale. No apology, no interest in providing us any kind of services at all. At $51.37 for lunch I will pass this any day. And while I am on that subject it would be nice if they told you soda pop and tea are sold by the glass instead of bringing your bill with a multitude of unexplained $1.90 charges.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
