Never again. Placed an order for delivery. Took them over an hour and a half. Could have dealt with it if not for the fact that an entire container of soy sauce had popped open. Spilled into the entire bottom of the bag and super saturated my entire order rendering most of it inedible. That being said, the stuff i could try wasnt mind blowing either. I don't think this happens on a regular. But once is more than enough for me.

may have just been me but the sushi tasted kind of gamey. not sure if its imported or local fish but tasted a little suspect. the godzilla roll was just OK. not as good as all the hype. the sashimi ginza 2 is ok but should have stuck to rolls and call it a day.

I did not find out about Ginza until recently. I used to be a frequent at Sushi Village, but then decided to try a new place out. Long story short, I can't believe I didn't find out about this place sooner. It is by far, better than any of the other Sushi spots that I've been to. Fresh fish, awesome combination of dishes, awesome service, and the best staff/owners. They are super friendly and really provide the best service, even when they're busy. They have an amazing list of rolls which include combinations that you've probably never thought of. Make sure to try them all when you get the chance. Their food is superb. I read reviews on here, in which someone complained about there being more filling than rice...why? Isn't that what people want when at a Sushi restaurant? I've never had a restaurant provide more fish than rice. Pricey? Not at all. You get an amazing value for what you're paying. Let me put it this way. There were a bunch of customers hugging the owner while leaving. I think that pretty much sums up my 5 stars.

My go to place for sushi when I am in Bayside! The fish is fresh and the lunch specials are a good price. Any rolls that have spicy tuna are good. My favorite rolls are the Amanda and Liki 1. Peter the owner and sushi chef is super nice and always adds an extra handroll or sashmi with my order!

Not that good at all. The green tea ice cream had ice chips in it. There was a strange taste of food in the ice cream. The shrimp tempura came with 3 small pieces of shrimp tempura and 3 pieces of vegetable. The rice was hot and the spicy tuna tasted cooked. It felt like a waste of money. I ate the 3 pieces of tempura, a few spoonfuls of ice cream, and the inside of the 3 rolls I got. I don't think I'll be ordering from them again. Aside from that I ordered fried ice cream and they told me after the fact that it wasn't available. Then I got a glob of really bad quality ice cream. There was also a fish scale I had to spit out in the the tuna. The ice cream came with a plastic bag full of ice. It just felt so unprofessional.

Always one of my favorite spot to visit. Pros: 1. A Million selection and variety of different rolls of sushi. Anything you can think of or not think of, they have it here! 2. Price is cheap. Cons: The wait time can be a little bit annoying, but for the good food and the good price, I don't mind at all. Yes - definitely would recommend friends over and I will keep visiting.

After reading a few posts I decided to come here and try this spot. It was some what busy which is a good sign. I ordered the Lunch Teriyaki Chicken and the Amanda Roll. The total only came to $15. While I was there waiting a woman complained she found some plastic or something sharp in her sushi roll. Did not make me feel comfortable at all. The sushi chef apologized and gave her 2 free rolls. The decor.... kind of sucks. There is carpet on the floor. CARPET...yuck. Can't imagine how dirty that thing is after all the years of abuse. I doubt they get it professionally cleaned. The walls have hand written rolls menu. I thought it was kind of boring. The sushi bar needs to be upgraded. Anyway, the best thing about my food was the miso soup which came with my bento box. The sushi roll was nothing to brag about. My chicken teriyaki was over cooked. I have to say half the sauce ended up on my car seat. I got home and picked up the bag only to find out it leaked all over my seat thru the bag because it wasn't secured properly. There was nothing good about the food I got. I also read a comment that they offer an all you can eat for a set price of $40 for 2. I asked the waitress and she said they do offer it at $29 per person. When I was there I was so hoping the food would be good so I can come back with friends and try it out. Now I think I would be embarrassed to bring my friends to a spot that can't even deliver on chicken teriyaki. I would give this spot a 1 but my waitress was awesome so I gave it a 2. Overall this was not worth my $15.

I love to eat sashimi at Ginza since the service is outstanding. Whenever, I feel stressful, I go there to get a drink of sake. I like to go there to relax and chill because the owner is friendly and he loves to talk about golf. If you are hungry, you should go to Ginza. This is the best place to go for Sushi in Queens. This is the best Sushi in all of New York. I have been coming here since I was 9 years old. I started with a California roll and now I am on a mission to try everything on the menu. If I am in a rush I order a Tako salad(shredded octopus and cucumber with spicy sauce), Osi Tashi Ika (steamed calamari and spinach w/ butter sauce and Yaki Mussel (cooked mussel with spicy sauce on top) . The walls are filled with custom rolls created by long time loyal customers. Peter (Owner/Chef) is an amazing Chef. This is not a chain restaurant, has a great private feel to it. You walk in and feel your the only person that knows about this secret treasure.

Udon changed my life. Also I just had a spicy tuna roll and I was very sad to see it end. Service is great and the prices here are very fair for the quality of the sushi. This is definitely going to be a regular stop for me in queens.

Good sushi, better atmosphere. Nice place to meet others. Staff and owner are very friendly. Parking is tight, but that is the only issue.

Overall, an average Sushi spot. Ingredients are not very very fresh, the way I prefer. The lady server all times seems not so friendly and helpful. To be honest, I think the Sushi Chef is more friendly. To sum it up, a hit and miss at best.

Great Sushi. Try the Triple S and Zumba Rolls. Friendly staff; Peter is the man and Sue is great.

I usually order from Ginza whenever I'm in the mood for Japanese. Since it is one of the only Japanese options available around me on Seamless, I seem to always resort back to Ginza. I've never been to Ginza's restaurant in person, but I have made multiple delivery orders. The best part about Ginza is the extent of their menu. Scrolling, scrolling, and still scrolling down - the selection of sushi and sashimi never ends. I recently ordered: 1) Fried Ice Cream (Green-Tea) The ice cream and fried shell surrounding it melted and became soggy by the time it was delivered to me. I didn't get to enjoy this because of that reason, but hopefully at the restaurant it is delicious. The ice cream also dripped through the brown bag it was placed in, and caused a mess in the delivery bag. 2) Hokusai Bento Box This is a lunch special available until 2:30pm on Seamless. For 11.95$, I got 1 California roll, assorted sashimi, salad with ginger dressing, and udon noodles. The noodles didn't include neither meat nor fish. I have to say that the sashimi looked very fresh. (See photos below) This recent order and all previous orders I've made all came with either 1 or 2 complimentary miso soups/clear soups in hot tea cups. The food I've tried from Ginza has always been fresh and satisfactory Japanese food. The downsides of Ginza that I can think of are that delivery is EXTREMELY slow. I live in an apartment building, and most of the time, the delivery personnel walk up straight to the door; however, Ginza, every time, leaves my order in the lobby for me to walk down and pick up - a big hassle on my part. Also, as previously mentioned, their packaging of my ice cream dish, and other dishes in past orders have lacked in care. Despite these downsides, I will continue to order from Ginza and possibly visit the restaurant in person to see if there is a difference (as many other reviewers have brought up).

I have ordered many times from Ginza for YEARS and have only been disappointed once over a very small mix up. Their choice of roles is amazing and the staff is super friendly. Definitely try!

The service of this restaurant is excellent, I ordered delivery at 11pm after work and the manager delivered food himself with some extras thrown in as well. Unfortunately he forgot my green tea ice cream and he special delivered that few days later without me needing to order anything, with an extra salad AND they wouldn't take the tip. Food needs to be better though to catch their superb service. 4 stars for service, 3 overall.

This place is my favorite sushi place on the planet. The wait is long and the service is a little slow... BUT it is so worth it. The brown rice option is great and the GODZILLA ROLL is the best!! I miss you Ginza!

  • Joanna B.

Ginza has amazing sushi and the waitresses are very friendly and helpful. You get a free dish of edamame to begin with and at the end you get a bowl of pineapple chunks. They have a HUGE selection of rolls. The walls are covered in rolls and if you don't see one that you like you can make your own and if they like it they'll add it to the menu! The price is great considering how much some sushi joints charge for small portions. The decor is very nice and homey. By the way the Green Tea Tempura ice cream is absolutely to die for! I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends, and I do!

  • John C.

I was very surprised at the low reviews that this place got. The sushi quality and the selection of rolls are above average. For the price I think its very hard to beat. I wouldn't compare this place to a 5 star michelin restaurant, but then again you wouldn't need to take out a mortgage to eat here. This is one of the two sushi places I come to eat in queens because I haven't found anywhere that are substantially better. I would say its safe to eat here and people shouldn't be afraid due to the few negative ratings by other members.

  • Dana S.

I would give this place more stars but they are really slow. They have a large menu of rolls made up by regular customers. The types of rolls are really good and creative. So if you don't mind waiting a little bit longer then they are worth the trip

Great Salmon sushi, tasty rice, nice owners, fast service. Great octopus salad too. Also they always give you an extra piece or two on the house.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!! I used to frequent this place for lunch a few years back, and recently moved to the neighborhood. Was looking for sushi delivery on a Monday and Mr Wasabi was closed, Mickeys didnt deliver... so opted to get Ginza. Ordered $55 worth of udon and sushi. It was disgusting. The nabeyaki udon was pathetic. The shrimp tempura wasnt battered with panko tempura batter and was soggy. The soup base was salty msg water with a limp piece of lettuce and old thin piece of chicken. Can they even serve this and call it a dish??? The salmon skin handroll was so old, we were scared to eat it!! the tuna was greyish and warm. the roll was falling apart too and disgusting looking. too scary to eat! this place is going downhill fast and if the DOH goes there, they would probably shut it down. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACe!!!

  • Ju L.

No joke, the UGLIEST sushi I've ever seen. Rice was a bit wet, so the rolls were falling apart. They didn't even trim off the ends. The "garnish" on the plate was a wad of rice with a tube of imitation crab meat plopped on top. On the plus side, the rolls are stuffed like there's no tomorrow: WAY more filling than rice, which was saying a lot for the explosion of rice on the plate. The spicy tuna is spicier than the norm and has crunchy bits of tempura, but somehow this made the filling impossibly greasy. I couldn't take more than 5 pieces. I've had their Ginza dinner box before as well - pricey at $18, and weekday lunch specials at the Japanese place some doors down are better. But it's enough food for two people: salad, tempura, teriyaki chicken (no rice), glass noodles, miso soup, and a shumai to top it off. We were really here for a $10 sake special - sake plus 10 pcs sushi for $10! I don't think it's still running, but the special included hot sake, a cali roll (6 pcs, tasted fine but looked like a child's play-doh sushi), 2 pcs tuna sashimi, and 3 pcs salmon sashimi. I guess since the cali roll was so ugly they threw in that extra salmon. The sashimi was just okay - not the freshest tasting though no one got sick. Hot sake was of course not top quality but still very soothing. Not on the menu alert: Korean-style chicken wings! If you're a fan of Korean fried chicken but don't feel like trekking to Northern Blvd, check out Ginza! 6 big juicy, glazey pieces for $4. Ask for it. You'll be happy you did. Service was very friendly and the nighttime lighting is nice and dim. In short: Ginza gives you mediocre and unattractive but satisfying food for a reasonable price. I wouldn't come here with someone I wanted to impress, AT ALL - in fact, this is the last place I would go - but it's perfect for a cheap/lazy sushiriffic time.

I just wanted to give my 2 cents on Ginza ...I've been going at least once a month for a few years and have always had good quality sushi at this place...Pete ,the owner makes all of the sushi personally 99% of the time ...and always has a smile and good attitude as does his family who all work there too...they are always willing to accommodate anyone with there own made up roll or requests...As I've been reading some of the past reveiws....I have a hard time believing some stuff people wrote .... FIRST OFF THIS IS A FAMILY RUN PLACE...so when it's busy you can wait longer than in other places....this because as I said earlier the owner makes all the dishes himself!!!!! What else could u ask for! And the one time I didn't like a roll I ordered he replaced without question ... So, if you what great sushi at reasonable prices with good service...with out all the hoopla....go visit Pete and his family.....cause that's how they treat everyone like family! Mexican and Godzilla rolls, the best!

Fish and sushi are fresh and good. Problem is with the management. My family and I sat down looking for A La Carte ordering, but since the waitress brought up the AYCE for $20.99 for Sashimi, Sushi, and rolls we decided to give it a shot. Result? BAIT AND SWITCH After the first round of sashimi, the waitress came back telling us the boss said no sashimi...only sushi and rolls. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT ALERT!! IF THEY ADVERTISE SOMETHING THEY SHOULD HONOR IT. The 2 stars is for their Wolverine roll with brown rice which was pretty innovative.

Ginza is my favorite go to sushi spot. A lot of people dont know this, but everyday they have a $40 all you can eat sushi special for 2 people. You can literally get any roll on the menu, as many as you want 40 bucks. You have to tell the waitress you want it though, they will neverr mention it to you. Its kinds of an underground secret..You're welcome! Their rolls are my fave and i LOVE that you can make your own roll out of literally anything. When I felt I have enough fish rolls, I have made a chicken terriyaki roll .. I have made a tuna tempura roll.. i have made so many rolls .. the possibilities are endless (created rolls are also allowed on the $40 deal!!!) I love the chefs and the waitress is a sweetheart. I have one complaint .. whenever I have gotten delivery, it is never close to as good as eating it there.. I have no idea why, it doesn't taste as fresh, the things that are supposed to be warm are cold.. they forget things. Which is why I only gave it 4 stars, I wish I could give it 5 .. I definitely give it 5 stars if you are eating there.. it is delicious and reasonable!

I ordered from here recently because they were one of the only Japanese restaurants signed up with Seamless and I had a coupon code. They have a huge selection of sushi rolls which was cool but when I got my delivery the rolls were packaged horribly! They use those folded white Styrofoam trays and the rolls were squooshed into the pockets of the tray. Half the rolls fell apart and mixed with the other rolls. I really couldn't tell which roll was what! After eating 2 pieces (which tasted good) I couldn't bring myself to eating the rest because of how grossly it was shaken up in the tray. Very unfortunate. If this restaurant decides to change their packaging methods and treat their deliveries better then I would try them again. Until then, no thanks.

I use to frequent this place and loved the food here. Imagine my surprise a month ago when I decided to try their all you can eat with a friend. The people working there are definitely friendly and the free hot sake deal that night was good but it went downhill from there. Every single roll we ordered was 90% rice, 10% filling. The fillings didn't even match the description of the rolls we ordered. each "bite" was the size of half my fist- that is how much rice they put in it. I basically paid around $50 for like 10 bowls of rice. Never coming back.

Ginza is my go-to sushi place. You know you are a regular when the staff greets you by name when you walk in the door - like Cheers. The fish is always very fresh and the staff is fabulous. One of the fun highlights is the menu of rolls that have been created by patrons and some people are very creative. Ginza also provides the traditional rolls. Whenever I am home and in the mood for sushi this is the place I go. And when I am home during the week I always order the Sushi Lunch special for a fun treat. Give Ginza a try. You won't be disappointed.

LOVE! Ginza is nice and fresh and the owner is very friendly! I was recently in and ordered cali rolls, miso soup and fried vegetable dumplings. It was great. Im very picky when it comes to sushi and this place was nice and fresh! prices are reasonable as well! I definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

The menu is like reading a novel. I seriously did not know where to start and I needed a couple of minutes more than usual. The rolls are not bad, but I've had better. Their rolls are rather large serving sizes though and ordering 2 was good enough for me. Usually at other places I would get 4 small rolls like spicy Salmon, and Eel Avacado. I definitely liked that I had a lot of choices to choose from. The waitress was slow and not very attentive of us even though there weren't many customers there. Got the fried Ice Cream and it just didn't taste right. The Dough was hard and not even warm, while the icecream on the inside was hard as a brick. I would say come and try it out for a unique sushi restaurant visit, but in my mind I think that the huge menu with so many ridiculous names for special rolls hurt them more than it does any good.

I will be very careful not to take just anyone's recommendation next time... I waiting over an hour for some take out (food enough for three people). I even left to get cookies down the street, came back and had to wait an additional 25 minutes. i should have known from that hit of fishy aroma wafting off the sushi bar. This fish is NOT fresh. This was a Saturday night, mind you. I will not go back, and I'm not sure why I waited in the first place. WHY can't we find good sushi in Bayside/Whitestone. I will stick to Takara for now.

Def my favorite neighborhood Japanese Resturant. The staff is friendly, the food is always delish. A little pricey but i just discovered they now have all you can eat for two @ a great price!

This place is on the decline. I used to order or go here all the time. The rolls could not be topped. The teriyaki chicken was perfect. Now, I dont know what happened. To my embarassment, when I brought colleagues here for lunch the quality was not the same, the portions were not the same, but the prices sure were. The chicken had grizzle and cartiledge still attached, and the skin untrimmed. Not appealing. Had it not been for the rice we would have been left hungry. Thought it was a fluke because I knew they were good. Gave them two more chances and had the same experiece with the chicken, hot food arrived stone cold, portions full of alot of RICE. Too bad. Two stars because thankfully, at least the fish seemed to be fresh.

So a few nights ago, my friend dragged me out to get sushi, but for some reason that night, I just felt like sushi wouldn't sit right with me, but I decided to tag along anyway and we ended up here. This place has by far, the largest and most vast speciality roll list, I've ever seen in my life, hands down, case closed. They must have close to 200 speciality rolls, which takes up 3 pages on the menu and 3 huge dry erase boards along the walls of the place,. Unfortunatly, like I said, I didn't have sushi and instead just had the beef negamaki and gyoza, which were both good, but I've had better. My friend got a random mix of sashimi and speciality sushi rolls and he enjoyed all his food. I'm super curious now and really curious to come back here, next time I'm in need of a sushi fix. The interior was a bit tight though. I felt like the table next to us was sitting on my lap. (We were there during the dinner rush). Service was quick, they filled up our waters multiple times (Which is a shock in a Japanese joint, usually you have to beg for more water). Parking also might be hard to come by in and along Francis Lewis Blvd. Update to come!

The first time I came here I swore I was never coming back after eating mediocre sushi that was falling apart. A friend coerced me into it yesterday though and I'm glad he did. Ordered my two favorites Spicy Tuna, pretty good, and Spicy Yellowtail, REALLY good. They also gave me 2 free pieces of tuna sashimi but by the time I was done with the rolls I was way too full to even think about eating them. Free edamame before your meal and free pineapple chunks after. Gigantic menu, I think it would take me forever to even read it all but I will definitely be eating here more often to try some of their special rolls out. This place has official won me over as my favorite...came back for take out, ordered 4 rolls and they gave us 2 free hand rolls that were huge. The regular rolls seem larger than most places too. Recently discovered carbless sushi here. They wrap the rolls in cucumber instead of rice. So awesome.

A friend of mine RAVED about this place. Like, almost ate here every day. And I am a huge fan of sushi so i had to see what all the fuss was about. She didnt have a car so i had to endure a serious train and bus ride to get to this location. That put me in a bad mood. Being hungry and traveling for hours really sours my mood. When we arrive, the owner waves hello and greets her by name. Isnt that cute? There was an abundance of rolls to choose from. That was really awesome. And perhaps my beef is really with my friend who only ordered fried rolls because she didnt eat raw fish (wtf?). I think its awesome that they have brown rice rolls for the health conscious but i love my regular rice rolls much better. I would say this place is great for people who are new to sushi. It has a lot of what I like to call "beginner sushi" options that have more cooked items than raw. if Im going to venture out to the far ends of the earth for sushi, i want exactly what I want- dont make it heathy with brown rice and then get something fried in the middle- thats stupid. Im okay with or without it. But if we go back, whos driving???

My family has been ordering from here for years now, and I don't understand the low reviews. I have always found their food to be tasty and super fresh. The decor leaves something to be desired, but the prices are good and the staff is very nice. Just a very, very good, local sushi joint, with creative rolls. I recommend it for sitdown or orrder out.

I had to make a yelp account just to rip this place a new one. My family and I have been going to Ginza for years. Several months ago, my boyfriend and I stopped in for some sushi, he ordered the godzilla roll and a spicy tuna roll. I ordered the fusky and a spicy tuna. The sushi just didnt taste right, but ofcourse we kept eating. A couple of hours later we both became violently ill, it was horrible! I had to be hospitalized for two days due to food poisoning! AVOID GINZA! I had two other friends who ate there and they both saw a giant cockaroach coming out of the kitchen. AVOID GINZA!

I have to say after living in manhattan and having awesome sushi from places like Haru...I never thought id find decent or even edible sushi in bayside. But Ginza is way better then decent. However, my review is really only based on a few Rolls but consumed SEVERAL times! First of all I've only ever had their brown rice sushi which is more delish then anything! But there spicy crunchy or not crunchy Tuna is out of this world. As is there tempura rolls. They have a gazillion rolls so you can basically get anything your sushi loving heart desires. But PLEASE try your sushi with Brown rice!

Came here for lunch to try something new. The rolls were ok. The menu is just way to extensive and I couldn't decide for the life of me what to order. The place was a little bit busy when we walked in and there was only one waitress. I think we asked for the check and still 15 minutes later nothing. On top of that the rolls were a little bit more pricey than i'm used to. Definitely won't be stopping by here again.

I first came here about 2 years ago and since then, I've been hooked. If it weren't so far away from me, I'd be coming here much more often. They've got A LOT of rolls here...any type that you can think of, and they've got it here. Many of the rolls are named by patrons of Ginza. Hubby and I joke that if we ever get to name something, we'll call it the "Rick Roll". They always serve you complimentary steamed, salted edamame to munch on before your order arrives. The sushi counter is the focal point of the restaurant (where the chefs assemble the rolls), and it's always an entertaining place to sit. You might even score some free samples of whatever they're making, if you get to sit there. The waitresses are very friendly and the portions at Ginza are much larger than you'd get at other sushi restaurants...8 or more pieces to a roll. Not bad at all! We've had the following rolls: Amanda, Boston, Salmon Submarine, Salmon Skin, Spicy Tuna, Craig Ahead, CAS, Caesar, Godzilla, P Faszule, Wall Street, and Living Stone. All have been great...you can tell when you eat them that a lot of attention to detail goes into the preparation of the food. It's always fresh and that's worth the wait each time. They even serve you a small bowl of pineapple chunks when they bring you your check. You should definitely check this place out if you're in the mood for good sushi in Queens.

Love this place! It's too bad that Sushi Village opened up right across the street with a $20 AYCE deal, taking a lot of Ginza's business. To combat that, however, Ginza has an AYCE $35 for 2-people deal. Anyway, Ginza has some of the most interesting and creative rolls. Not only are there about a hundred rolls all laid out in detail on the menu, Ginza also has 50+ handwritten ones on a dry-erase board on the wall that were created by customers. I recommend their Dragon Roll & Ginza Roll. Best sushi coma everrrr!

Food is often great and you always get a warm greeting, as if you're part of the family. But if it's busy service is very slow. I just can't spend an half hour getting my order taken, eat then 45 mins. To get the check. Waitresses are awesome!

Quantity but not-that-great quality. This place is small and often very crowded. I suppose the appeal is that they have a huge rolls menu. There's every combination of creative sushi rolls you can think of, and the rolls are huge. We sat at the bar. Watching the two sushi chefs rolling up their sushi is like watching a crude production line. The knife skill is rough and the rolls are uneven. The rice is also quite mushy. Couldn't really tell how fresh the raw bits of fish are as all of the rolls we ordered were drenched with unagi sauce as a finish, so almost everything tasted like unagi sauce, with varying degrees of crunchiness from the tempura flakes here and there. Overall, I would say this is a good place to go if you're in the area and want some sushi that you don't need to think too much about. I'm quite certain their food must be reasonably fresh ultimately since they seem to have a high turnover.

Dynamite Yaki - not enough flavor Sashimi deluxe - Above average, but not a great assortment... no yellowtail, no mackerel... My friends' rolls seemed ok... not big or small... and they said they were good... They threw in some freebies to everyone's plate... Ice cream tasted like freezer burn... i guess that's what I get for ordering ice cream in the winter... The service was good, even though there was only one waitress, she was very attentive. The tea tastes really good, with a ricey? aroma

A friend of mine Recommended this place, Slow slow slow.....the food is decent, but if your not a regular, expect to wait!!! Waited for rolls for 50 minutes, meanwhile a regular client strolls in and sits down and gets his food within 10 minutes. The service alone will make me never repeat! Just a horrible horrible experience! I'll pay more for sushi/sashimi for a better experience.

I go to Ginza all the time, and I must say it's the best sushi I have ever had. Every time I go there, the chef already knows what I am going to get. It's the freshest sushi I have ever had. They have tons of specialty rolls, but my favorite is the Biordi Roll, which I order every time. Much better sushi than I have had on bell blvd.

The only sushi place I love in Queens. The service is awesome, and the ridiculous amount of rolls available are a lot of fun and delicious.

I ordered Chirashi. It was served in a wooden rectangular box. The fish were reasonably fresh, not exceptional but not bad either. The rice was so so. I also ordered the eel maki, it looked kind of sloppy with with too much sauce all over the roll. Also ordered a salmon teriyaki and a tempura udon, both were okay. The place seats about 50 and on the Sunday night we went, there was only 1 waitress and two sushi chefs. The service wasn't lightning fast but it's acceptable and friendly. Not bad.

This is the best place for sushi. They have a vast variety of rolls to choose from. They are always consistent and the rolls are huge. This is the only place I go to for sushi.

The huge selection got me so excited... but the fish was not very fresh. The scallops were soo disappointingly fishy!! Not going back.

I've been to Ginza about five times now. Each time I have a repeat performance of the same experience - great food but terrible service. We've ordered everything from sushi rolls to soup to the dinner box and the food was delicious. While a few people claim they got food poisoning in the reviews below, personally I've never had a problem with their food. The service, however, is beyond terrible. This does not refer to the chefs, though. The guys making the sushi behind the counter are really friendly, cheer when you come in, and are always smiling. The waitress, however, is always down. Haven't seen her around lately, maybe she got fired. She would always be displeased when taking our order and if you asked her anything about the meal such as what comes with it, she did this scowl and exasperatedly answered, as if talking to an idiot. I quickly learned to never make small talk with her or address her at all. At our last visit the waiter was a new guy. He was nice but a bit incompetent. My food came while my friend's food literally sat on the sushi counter for an hour. We kept reminding the waiter that we are waiting for it and he kept saying he would bring it, yet every time we looked over the food was still sitting there. We should have just gotten up and taken it ourselves. I decided to eat my food and see if I could finish it before the waiter brought my friend's food, just for amusement, and the minute I put my fork down for the last bite, there he comes. So yes, I did manage to eat my entire meal while my friend sat there hungry and pissed. At that point we just got up and left without my friend eating anything. I repeat, terrible service. If this place got some decent waiters I think they could really offer a nice local spot for Japanese that we would come back to often.

Ginza is my neighborhood spot. I admit the food isn't the best Japanese I've had by far, but it's become my family's favorite local restaurant. The lunch deals are awesome, the sushi roll selection is vast and tasty (Amanda is my favorite), and I LOVE their udon's soup base! The folks who run this place are so warm and friendly, and we love being greeted by their cheerful "Hel-lo!" as we arrive. We go so often they occasionally include small dishes for us, gratis. Apparently other people repeat-visit too, bc we see a lot of the same people return. Melon flavored gum with our check is icing on the cake. Kam-pai, Ginza!

Oh man! If you think this place has the best Japanese in Queens, I could point you to better spots. I gave this place a chance a few months ago. It was crap then and crap now. Delivery took over 1 hour, and I am only 4 blocks away. This place is very good at skimping on everything you could imagine. They let the delivery guy stack up 10 orders before he delivers. It's not the best thing to do with sushi. Of course the tempura was cold as hell, and the small containers of soy sauce were busted open, and splattered all over the inside of the bag. To make matters worse, the delivery guy forgets the soda. We are eating now with no soda. I call up, and the woman said the delivery guy would bring the soda when he is done dropping off food for other customers. 30 mins later, we got our soda. The pieces of sushi are extremely teeny. The rolls are not only stuffed with rice, but contain a very small amount of fish. I have had better sushi off the supermarket shelves, and at AYCE spots. If you don't care about flavor or quality at all, this place may be OK for you. It is a great way to embarrass yourself in front of a new date. You will be apologizing for the rest of the night.
