I have been here several times and it seems to be hit and miss on the service. This last time right after the Griz game the waitress was spot on. The food was really good too. We had the Greek salad and Cottage pie they were both very good. Drinks were fast and no complaints. They are a new bar and I think as the work out the fine details they will continue to improve. I would recommend stopping by for some drinks and food but they are busy if you can't wait for a little bit to be seated just stay home.

The Thomas Meagher Bar is a welcome refreshment to Missoula. It revamped what was supposed to be an Irish Pub and actually turned it into an establishment that feels like an Irish Pub. High-fives all around to that. Vaulted and exposed ceilings, brick walls, ample amount of seating room- from high tops, to the long bar, booths and tables (plus I think there is a plush chair or two propped up the corner by the window as well). Their food is pretty spot on- scotch eggs are particularly delightful with the hummus being a perfect snack on these hot mountain days. Beer selection is admirable and they have enough liquor for a small army. I wasn't a huge fan of Bloody Marys, but a random surge of inspiration came over me the other day and out of my hungover mouth I vomited the words "I'll take a Bloody Mary.." The next few moments after that were sat in silence to reflect on the potentially poor decision that I had just made.. Then poof, it appeared in front of me and instantly I had to give the presentation some credit. The garnishes made up for the lack of breakfast that I had... did I even eat dinner the day before or was it just a liquid intake? That's for me to worry about. One sip- pause.. Two sips- yes. I don't know exactly what had happened to me to actually immensely enjoy a Bloody Mary (maybe one of my mountain adventures was actually a spirit quest of some sort and I didn't realize it. Although, that spirit would have been vodka.) Whatever the cause, The Thomas Meagher Bar has my solid vote of confidence when it comes to Bloody Marys.. they have turned a non-believer into a follower. Also, the people that work there are pretty neat.

I came here with a group of friends and we had stellar service. We were ordering drinks regularly and never waiting. Very friendly waitress who was always smiling. I also shared the gyro with my boyfriend and we both loved it. Another friend got the blue cheese burgers and fried pickles and ate every last bite. I am so glad they remodeled this place. The low ceiling Sean Kelly's had made it feel small and claustrophobic. They have lots of tv's which is great because I get tired of going to the tam all the time to watch sports.

Lauren was absolutely awesome! She had great suggestions and was very knowledgable, beautiful and sweet. We tried everything we could! Lobster burger was delicious, the Mac and cheese with chicken and buffalo was yummmmm, and the Reuben with extra kraut was so tasty! Everything was hot and fresh and service was tops.

I've been here a couple times and have never had a good experience. They don't have a lot of options for vegans and once I tried to custom something to meet my needs and the kitchen screwed it up and the waitress didn't seem to care. To avoid this happening in the future I sent the restaurant a Facebook message explaining what happened and asking if they have any tips for me when ordering vegan off their menu. This is something I do often when I'm new to eating at a spot, I hate to bother my server with a bunch of questions while they are working and busy so I will message or email restaurants with questions so I can be prepared when I come in. The majority of the time I get a great message back with lots of helpful advice on making it easier to eat at the establishment. However this is the first time I got no response back at all. I could see that they had read my message, apparently they just didn't think it was worth responding to. Now whenever I'm with my friends trying to pick a spot to eat downtown I always tell them, anywhere but the Meagher Bar.

Love love love this place. The atmosphere is so different (in a good way) High top tables, cement, brick, and exposed beams all in the same building. If you like burgers, this is the place. If you like unique mac n cheese creations; this is the place. A stiff drink? They have that too. The staff is super friendly and eager to make your dining pleasure an experience to remember. It tends to get a bit noisy though.

Was really great food! Drinks were okay, I like the selection they have. What made our experience bad was Cory the bartender. He ignored us a few times. Then only catered to a group of girls at the end of the bar. Once they arrived, it was like we didn't exist. I won't go back here till the service gets better.

I'm a little surprised about the sudden love for this new establishment that takes the place of local watering hole Sean Kelly's. Gone are the Indian dishes, excellent brunch and most of the Irish inspired fair (by the way this new establishment considers chicken and fries an Irish dish) gone is a slightly darker establishment with a small stage. Now in its place is a bar with food that you can get LITERALLY EVERYWHERE. While the older establishment was far from perfect, at least it had character. Sysco Food Services fries? Check. A medium-well done burger that needs condiments to taste like something it's not? Check. This new establishment is a fresh coat of paint on something you've had before, and that something isn't worth writing home about. I'm aware of my bias, but honestly? This is the most boring bar I've been to in a long time, and I'm sure it will make the owners plenty of money. If you want something that compares to a dry Burger Whopper, and a million TV's so you don't have to think about life, this is the place for you.

I came here with a friend Friday night and they were SO busy! We couldn't get a table so we sat at the bar. With that said though, we received some of the best and most attentive service I've ever had. I didn't know what I wanted to drink so the bartender, I think she said her name was Lila, asked what I typically drink and what was off limits. I told her vodka was always safe with me and no tequila. She made me this AMAZING peachy vodka iced tea and then told me how she made it if I ever come in when she's not there. My friend wanted an IPA so she told him about the tap takeover. He got a Sierra Nevada beer that he really loved too after sampling two. We didn't get any food but the girls next to us did and it looked so good. They had the Lobster Mac and Cheese and a Reuben and the servings looked huge. They were really friendly too! The atmosphere was great, the remodel is beautiful, and the staff was friendly. My only complaint was that the bar stools are all really close together. We will definitely be back to ask Lila what to eat next time!

Wait staff is fantastic. Ambiance is Cool with a great number of televisions for watching sports. Decent drinks. Now for the bad news.... The food is sub par at best. I swear the cottage pie is denty Moore canned stew and the blackened cod salad had the smallest portion of fish I have ever seen, I lost the 2 small pieces of fish amongst the croutons I asked to not have. I have had there fish and chips before and the are decent. They appear to purchase a lot of frozen and prepared foods. A great drinking establishment but for Irish food, go to stone of Accord, who by the way seems to be on a decline, but still a far cry better than this place.

They do a lot of dishes very well. They DO have Indian dishes that are done well. Cold smoke battered fish and chips are the best I've had in Missoula. I imagine a couple places could do them better with thicker homemade chips. Wing lollipops are great. I feel that the cheddar biscuits and fries are NOT homemade, which is sad. They get a four for cutting some corners, comes off as a bit lazy from the owner.

Lots of character in the building from old days. excellent fish and chips, it is the best in Montana. Great selection of Irish beer.

We came for a late lunch today. Not good. Chicken wings undercooked, bangers and mash cold, hamburger scorched and fries still frozen. The beer was fresh tasting, music was good! Bathrooms clean but no hand towels!
