Hour and 25 minutes still no food. A group of six is too big? Took 30 minutes just to order. Get it together!

Came with my husband, we had 2 Asahi beers and a large cold saki. Can't remember the last time we had a ginger salad for $3, it was fresh cut lettuce with homemade dressing. Then Kani salad, best I've ever had and only $4! Then we shared pork fried rice, a rajnbow, California and dynamite roll. Everything was fresh and delicious. The ambiance is not there at all but the service and food is!

If you're looking for a great meal for a good price and love sushi or Chinese cooking this is the best place in town not an arm and leg and best sushi around!

It was decent priced, fresh and delicious. Had gyoza, tempura, wonton soup, and a few rolls. We were the only ones there so service was great. Will be coming again to get our sushi fix.

Very fresh sushi and frankly the best sushi restaurant in the state and I've been to all of them. I can't believe it took me years to finally come here. Will be my new go-to restaurant. I had to order the standards- dragon and rainbow roll and both were excellent.

Stay clear. Over priced for the quality of food you get. The tuna in spicy tuna rolls shouldn't be gray. The sushi they serve at the University Food Court on campus is making strides compared to what they serve here. The inside of the restaurant needs to be updated, not to mention it's very dirty.

Had dinner here last night and it was one of the worst valentines day dinners ever. The service was horrible and slow. We waited an hour and a half to get our order. Many patrons were complaining about this. Then when the manager told the sushi chef, he began to yell at the other staff. Very unprofessional. The food was just ok. Nothing special. I definitely would not return. Good luck staying in business with this type of customer service.

This place is bad. When we got here the kid waiter was visibly annoyed we arrived. People at other tables were complaining that he was slow and annoyed they were here also. Phone rang and 45 minutes before close he told the people on the phone they were closed. The food is marginal but we have given this place 3 tries and won't again It's just not a good experience all the way around. Service sucks food marginal

The best sushi in Missoula and trust me I've been to all of them!!! The French Dragon Roll is my favorite. In Montana good sushi is hard to come by, but this place is one I keep coming back to. I like the fact that you can come in sit down and not feel too crowded like the other sushi places in town. Their menu also has Chinese food as well if your not up for sushi. Also their soup is really good, I haven't tried their Chinese items yet, but they look good. But this is a one I would recommend.

Pretty darn good! Surprisingly so. Doesn't look like much from the outside, in fact ive passed on by many times since I thought the building was vacant. Today, we happen to see an "Open" sign. We laughed and looked at the reviews here...here we are! Very good!!! looks are deceiving!

So not impressed. Shoddy service, dirty dishes, weak appetizers, and halfway decent sushi. The miso soup we got tasted like a fishbowl, and the salad was made with cheap iceberg lettuce and terrible sauce. The sushi was not very good, and the presentation in a martini glass was a bit weird as well. The service was slow despite there being almost no one there. Would definitely not recommend and we will never be going there again

Excellent food. I highly recommend the hot and sour soup; I like a hot and sour that doesn't burn the top of your mouth off. Their hot and sour is traditional and very tasty and I don't say that about most hot & sour soups. The bento baskets are a good combination for lunch, but I like their regular meals better. Very reasonable portions and prices.

Loved Asahi when they first opened up. After 6 months things starting going downhill. The water glasses smelt like fish and so did the miso soup bowls. The fish was not fresh at all and it nauseated me. I will never go back. Sorry guys.

My husband and I went here last week for my birthday lunch and it wasnt as good as it has been in the past. The sushi was good but the tempura was eh; the batter wasn't light and airy, nor as crispy as it should be.

Their sushi rolls are ok and the quality is not very consistent. Waiters are very friendly and in fact too friendly that we felt intimidated once when he found out about our background.

Came here for dinner one night and it didn't disappoint. We tried several rolls and a few things from the kitchen and they were all tasty and presented very well. The atmosphere in here is casual but can work well for an intimate setting for small groups or with someone special. The prices weren't too outrageous and their menu is quite large. I haven't tried the Chinese portion of the menu though and will have to when I visit next.

I was so excited that we had a new Japanese/asian restaurant. However,I don't think this restaurant is going to survive. We waited over an hour for our food. I was starving. I don't usually send my plate back even if it's bad. But I took one bite of my meat and it was cold and horrible! My husband said he thought the plate had been sitting up on the ledge for quite awhile. I did end up sending it back and our waitress proceeded to yell at the cook in another language. I kinda worried that I should have just gone without. While waiting for a new plate I ate my rice because by that time I was starving! The waitress was very apologetic and a long time later brought my new plate. It was still luke warm and it tasted mediocre. On our way out I saw someone I knew and she whispered to me that it was the worst place they had ever been to. I agree.

Wonderful, food! The only thing preventing me from giving them five stars is the wait. They currently have very limited waitstaff, which, considering they just opened, is to be expected. I hope next time I go back I can revise this up to 5! I had the Sushi & Sashimi Combo, which was divine, and came with some of the best miso soup I've had in town, and a wonderful green salad with a delicious ginger dressing. Everything felt very elegant, no plastic soup spoons here! Everything was china, and very well plated. I highly recommend trying the green tea tempura ice cream! It's fried ice cream in tempura batter! Be sure to share it though, as it is a sizable desert.

Honestly, I SO wanted to love this place. I heard it was the best sushi in town and got super excited to try it out. Unfortunately, I was let down. The atmosphere is bizarre and there was no beer/wine with my sushi =( It may make me a lush but that alone was reason enough for my friend and I not to go back. We love having a brew while we gossip over sushi! Now, to the fish. I did not think it was any better than Sushi Hana, and actually, it might have been lesser quality. I have had sushi on the coast and of course Hana isn't as great, but its certainly better than Asahi, in my opinion. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? So sad! I wanted to love this place. Sigh. Maybe I should give it another chance before I write it off...

I took my husband there for our 21st anniversary and it was awesome! The owner was attentive and the waiter was accommodating. We had sashimi (yellowfin Tuna and unagi), rolls and wine. Tuna was top notch and the tempura cheese cake was to die for. It's my new favorite neighborhood sushi restaurant. Well done!

A big surprise finding fresh sushi in the middle of the country.

I've been to Asahi twice. The first time was actually really great. The waitress was bubbly and knowledgable and the staff seemed to be in the zone. The food was impressive and my daughter and I really enjoyed our soup and rolls. I returned with the rest of my family only to have a very mediocre experience. The service was awkward, the waitress didn't understand our questions. The rolls didn't taste as amazing as they did the first time and the noodles and soup we ordered were just OK. My kids really liked it though...

Finally decent sushi in Missoula! Have been here a bunch of times and have always had good food and great service. Being in Montana we are extremely limited to good sushi and this place has the others in town beat. I hope this place can survive. I will be going back many times.

Very good sushi, nice that they have Chinese food mixed in for people who aren't in love with raw fish. The service was quick and friendly and the prices were decent.

I love this sushi place! It's excellent sushi, along with other Japanese dishes. Fresh fish, beautifully prepared - they have excellent special rolls. The decor is weird, I think it was an old boys big boy, but the staff is so lovely accommodating polite and helpful, and that makes up with the decor. Definitely a must eat in Missoula.

I've been to asaji 4 times and it's excellent! Great rolls and sashimi. Fresh fish w beautiful presentation. Excellent service and charming staff. I especially the naruto roll. Their lunch bento boxes are a great value. The decor is is not great but they have comfy booths.

I've had dinner at Asahi at least 6 times in the past 5 months. i love it! once got the sushi for two and the display of all this yummy sushi on a big wooden boat was a great experience for a date. every roll i've had there was either really good or decent, nothing bad but not FANTASTIC. if you go there get the Crab Rangoons, best i've ever tasted in my life. ordered them everytime and they were always cooked perfectly and warm. once it took a very long time to get the check because the waiter was on the phone and that was very annoying but he apologized. one thing i wish they would do is put the fortune cookie on the tray with the check! i love opening my cookie after a good meal, but instead they have a bowl of cookies by the registers, and who wants to open a fortune cookie once they get in their car? *sigh* thats one thing that bothers me, silly i know. but other than that, great place, i shall return :)

Easy to drive by and ignore....this place easily has the best sushi in town. No need to ever go back to the other gross sushi places in town. Everything is fresh and super tasty. The other food besides sushi is great as well...this place never disappoints. This place is a Godsend for the Missoula community, check it out yo!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
