Just awful from the start. Called to make reservation for the game on sunday. Show up and find out that they don't do reservations and is a free for all to find a seat. With the name sports bar in the name you would think its a good place to watch the game. Yes. there are lots of TVs in this place. but the way the seating is there is only a few good seats to watch the game, Which I found out from the bartender were reserved for owner. This place looks to be setup for bands and not sports. We didn't even watch the whole game there as service was bad as the waitress was taking barking orders from the bartender and keeping us dry at our 'reserved' table. Do yourself a favor. Read other reviews and then decide for yourself.

Zero stars. Horrible. Some staff are nice. Nasty fat owner walks around like a mafia hit man before he gets wasted at his own bar. Overall bad experience. Go downtown Naperville if you can't make it to Chicago. Just get a cab, popo's be trippin.

I walk in and a waitress is letting a custom play quartes with her chest. I thought I was going to be on Bar Rescue after seeing that. I came for the .60 Tuesday night wing special. My server was very nice, quick & made sure my drink stayed full. My wings were good, but a little to much sauce.

This place is just nasty! First of all let me tell you all a tale of an incident in 07 or 08 when I went here with my buddy. A fight broke out in the bar (eh no big deal). What made this fight unique was it became very violent and heated mainly because it was African Americans Vs. Whites so there was some racial slurs exchanged. The fight was so heated that someone threw a bottle at another guy's head (no big deal yet, just a bar fight I kept telling myself). Then when the fight moved out in the parking lot one party of fighters busted out bats and a PISTOL! And beat one of the men with bats and pistol whipped him! Ok now it was getting intense. Then to make it worse he took that pistol and shot the other man! The victim staggered to a white SUV and smeared blood everywhere, luckily my fellow yelpers the man lived and did ok, but this was very scary. The gangbangers were arrested down the road, but this leads to my point. A lot of trash and bad people come in here, gangbangers etc... The service is good, food is ok but the prices on drinks are way too high for a crappy place like this. Me and my friend returned next weekend and asked for a discount on our beers due to witnessing a shooting, they would not discount us. Why not......? Your place is unsafe, and you charge too much for a lousy establishment! Cops crawl all over here, and you know why, so if you are worried about getting a DUI as you leave be very afraid, because another friend of mine got a DUI as she was following me out of this bar. Perhaps I would forgive this place if they weren't expensive at $3 a beer, so not worth it!

Ladies!!! Please be extremely careful!!! If there were no stars I would gladly give it. My girlfriends and I came to a concert here last week and was groped by some overserved looser. We complained about him and the security gaurd did nothing at all about it. He said he didnt see it and for us to just shut up about it. The drunk guy kept sneaking back up by us touching us when our backs were turned. When the overserved guy finally fell into someone in a wheelchair THEN he was kicked out. They didnt want to take our word for it so We ended up leaving and going to the police after the owner defended his security gaurd. Come to find a girl crying outside as she was celebrating her 22nd b day that the same guy went up her skirt when she wasnt looking!!!. We all made complaints against the owner and he called us up one by one to intimidate us that he is good friends with the chief of police and he on the chamber of commerse. . LIAR, because when we went in to talk to the police we told them tthat and the police said that was intimidation and wont stand for that. Also they said the county has wanted him shut down for a long time and he almost lost his liquor license because he does nothing to fix his "instances" that goes on there. Nice try BOB. You are just as much as a looser as they guy who gropped us. And guess what? KARMA is MY friend and someday will pay a visit to you.

This is a dump of a bar in a strip mall in Bolingbrook. They seem to have a group of locals who are always there. Bad food, bad drinks, expensive covers for bad bands. No thanks.

Usually this place is good, but i usually come on the weekdays instead of the weekend. I came today on September the 20th which was a Saturday. The service was really bad today. The waitresses were pissed off, because it was extremely crowded. I understand that it was crowded, but the waitresses at the bar did not ask us if we wanted anything at all. So i was kind of pissed off, because i could of stayed at the house party that i was originally at. My man wanted to come here right after work, and i came to make him happy plus i like this place, but i was disappointed today with the service. On crowded days I'll just sneak my drink in.

My son and I come here fairly regularly for lunch and dinner. It's a dive bar, but the food is good and the service is awesome. Justin and KC are the best. If you're looking for a gourmet meal, this is not the place for you. If you're looking for a decent burger and pizza and then stop by. I haven't gone for a concert, but I suspect it would be a good time.

Let's start off with the positive ... Big place, large stage and dance floor. Tvs can be seen from almost any angle. Large bar. I can't say too much about it because it was so crowded I was never able to reach it. Sound and stereo sound great. Even a crappy band could play it it would probably still sound good. Plenty of stalls in the ladies room. The food was awesome. We ordered the hot bbq wings and taco pizza and even nibbled every crumb we could crunch. End positive Negatives Parking lot sucks. Every spot is far away from the door Not enough tables to meet the demand on A busy night, with many of them being reserved with no one seated at them. Bathrooms: no soap, ugly decor, please take the mirrors down and repaint. This is not grandmas house. Not enough seating and not enough help to accomodate the few people who can find a seat on a busy night. Very very cold in here. Writing this as I sit here and it is 40 degrees in the upper area under the wall o tvs. Mommy I need a blanket. Our server was overwhelmed. I feel bad for her. She needs a raise stat but she has nice boobs! Not harassment. I just mean they are really nice. I will come back to eat here!

This place used to be good about 4 years ago. It's a shame seeing that I'm within walking distance to this dump. They usually have a cover on the weekend for some horrible band. The space is good and has a ton of potential but it's pretty apparent that management refuses to keep it up. Drive down to the promenade and go to any of those bars for a much better experience.

Came here to see Local H. The only issue I had was with how packed the place was, but when you go to a show sometimes places get packed so I can't mark them down for that. The staff was friendly, the waitress was on the ball, and the sound was great. It was a win in my book.

I've been coming to this place for years... for local bands, been here for a benefit, and a bigger name band as they tend to book some of those from time to time. Their cover charge ranges in price, depending on the band. I do like the stage and the sound here...but that's about it. I used to like the food, it's always been pretty decent but after my past visit here this last weekend, I decided to write a review based on my visit here. We got here a little past 6 - the place was dead and were told we better put our food orders in because there was only one cook back there. Our first waitress was fine, I asked if I could get a separate check from the rest of my group and she said it was fine but after she brought our food she told us she'd be behind the bar all night and someone else would be taking over. Ok, fine... she too was attentive to our refills and such. Then we requested our bill - as requested, I didn't get my separate check and she made no effort to correct it...kinda gave me the "Sorry, I can't do anything about it" look. Do these people not realize their tip is BIGGER when you get separate checks??? No, because I've found many bar waitresses to be less intelligent among the general public. Some will bend over backwards to please the customers seeing they work off tips...and well, some don't. And this one too was fine till she brought our check. My boneless wings were more like chicken strips and there was an extra charge for blue cheese and ranch (wasn't informed till I got the check) My suggestion...eat ahead of time. There is a big menu with lots of choices, but buyer beware of the things that go along with it.

The fat bald 50 something owner of this place is a complete jerk. I talked to a cutie that he himself liked and was hitting on, and he had his bouncers kick me out for that. I didn't inappropriately touch her, nor did I say anything rude, sexual or obnoxious to her. Further more, no one complained to me or warned me about anything before he had me kicked out of there. The bouncers were clearly embarrassed about having to do that. When I talked to them it was obvious they agreed with me but couldn't say so because he paid their wages. Guys, if you want to meet girls there, be careful not to talk to a cutie if you see her sitting near another guy who is hitting on her and who is bald with dark remaining hair, a huge beer belly and a big nose. That's the owner and he can't stand competition. He WILL abuse his authority as owner to have you booted out of there.

  • Chris C.

This place is terrible to see bands. They have VIP for pretty much the whole bar, you can't sit and eat (I actually left went to panda express to eat and came back). The unintelligent owner has his bar staff walk through the crowd holding a tray of drinks that anyone could just easily bump in to. NEVER EVER EVER go to this bar to see a band you will be severely disappointed and will be on yelp doing the same thing I am... Absolutely horrible.

Stage...beautiful. Bar...big. Venue...nice. Management HORRIBLE. I wish I could give 0 stars. I have never been disrespected and treated like such crap before and I am in the restuarnt industry. My husband was opening for a big band here. He was told they had 4-5 "roadies" allowed to come in free per band. Manager John is a total DOUCHEBAG. I was asked if I was in the band to which I replied no he's in the band. He rudely and told me, "No, you need to purchase a ticket." I kindly told him that the lead singer has me and her husband on the list. He snarls back by saying, "Buy your ticket or you can leave." I was done and decided I'll stay in my husband's car until he's done ( I don't want to give them ANY of my money). I proceed to go through the "VIP" area so I can get keys when the same douchebag manager said "FUCKING PAY OR LEAVE." WHAT THE HELL??!?? At a Christian bands show. I know it was a sold out show but you wrote that in the bands email to have 4-5 people. I was so fucking frustrated that I decided I wasn't going to buy one beer, no food...NADA. I know this isn't the nicest bar but the problem is with the unprofessional prick of a manager. I've been looking to go to this venue for years and after I leave my husband and I will NEVER be back. Get a new manager with less sass, a better attitude, and some class.

What a disappointment! They sell tickets leading you to believe you have a reserved table, this is not the case. They basically lead you to an area tell you to find anything you can, if there is nothing open you are out of luck even though you paid extra to have a reserved table. This place is very small, disorganized, won't be back here again.

    (1)
  • G. S.

I hadn't even ordered a drink yet and was verbally abused by the owner for being in an area that I wasn't aware was a reserved section. He got in my face, pointing and yelling for me to "get the f*** out of this area NOW, this is a reserved section!" I was beyond humiliated and left. One of the guys working the door said he treats some of his staff just as bad. I would never go back there if you paid me...that place is a dump anyway.

I like to go there in the afternoons when nothing is going on. I'll have a couple drinks, some food and watch one of the many TVs. There's minimal customers at this time which usually guarantees good service, good food, open pool tables and clean bathrooms. I tend to stay away on weekend nights. I don't like the crowds or the high cover charges for has-been bands.

  • Lauren T.

The best thing I can say about my experience here is that the service was good. Our server was very nice and extremely quick with our drinks. Sometimes she was a little busy so we would go up to the bar, and the bartender was also very nice and quick, so I was very pleased. My normal vodka and sprite cost 4$ and tasted a little weak, but got the job done. We were here to see a band and thankfully there was not a cover that night, because I don't think it would be worth it. This place is big, but not enough for the over amped sound system. Too loud! We didn't have any problems here and we all had a good time, but this is not the kind of place I would want to come and hang out. While it makes for great people watching, the some of the patrons are of questionable character and skeezyness. Not really my scene.

Came here for the first time last night. Had a blast!! Drinks were fairly priced. And although we didn't try anything, the buffalo sauce smelled incredible! Our waitress was really nice. definitely trying the chocolate covered pretzel shot next time! Dance floor was set up. Love the lights they've got going. Very cool! The reason it got three stars?? The bathroom was disgusting!!! Toilet paper everywhere! ICK! And one stall doesn't lock! Love the karaoke though, so I will be back.

A bar is a bar is a bar, right? Eh. I used to bartend and I know a thing or two about the type of crowd a bar will attract; this bar reminds me of high school, seriously. The waitresses are pretty enough and show just enough to ensure some decent tips, the guy at door is scary-looking enough to make you not want to start a fight, and the tables are set up with the same feeling as a high school cafeteria. No, I don't mean long plank-like tables, I mean segregation based on your clique. The "pretty" people are over there, the "kinda hot after a couple beers" people are over there, and the "chew your dang arm off in the morning just to avoid facing reality" crowd is tucked in near the bathroom. It just has a weird feel to it. Very loud music - great for dancing (1 or 2 songs before the mood changes) and horrible for talking to your friends. The food is typical, greasy bar food... nothing to write home about. The drinks aren't as strong as they ought to be. No, I'm not saying they're watered down... but hmmmm. Like my rating says, I give it 2 stars... because, "Meh. I've experienced better."

Grosse point blank. I went here once on a Sunday for wings and to watch a sporting event on their giant projector screens. Overall, I was pretty grossed out and would have much rather preferred higher prices and a chain like Buffalo Wild Wings than here. The place just appeared dirty... I mean, not out-rightly dirty but defo dirty like when you go into an arcade and you know that everything has been touched with sticky, unwashed hands. When we arrived we sat down at a tall table with bar stools near the projector and had to wait an astoundingly long time for service even though there were hardly any people there. Oh, that's another thing (not necessarily good or bad), the place is HUGE but there was not much happening in terms of patrons. Back to the dining experience... my place-ware was dirty. There was a big chunk of food crusted onto my fork and when my bf asked for another setting the server took the dirty one and never came back with a replacement. It was fine, we shared one set. My bf got a beer that was pretty cheap and we both got wings after an early round of appetizers. The wings were good but not great and defo not as memorable as the dirty place-ware. I was also really grossed out that employees were allowed to sit at the far tables, eat their wings, then go to their tables. I served for 10 years and I'm not saying they shouldn't be allowed to eat, just that they should do it in private and be required to wash their hands before going to a table... I mean, they were eating wings with their bare hands then handling the food of others. I was also kind of scared of the crowd. A lot of really big thug-y guys that appear to be fans of pickup trucks and girls that L.O.V.E. their cigs. Defo not my crowd but I can absolutely see where a group of guys from the area would enjoy this place. It does have cheap drinks and a wealth of TV screens. Not for me but I understand why it would appealing to some.

Went to this place once to watch a .Bears game. Just your typical suburban strip mall bar with bad tap beer. There are many TV screens so watching a game is good at a place like this. If your not a sports fan ot enjoy the TV then this really isn't a place worth to visit.

I went with a group of 7 people and we were there for 4.5 hours and our bill was $171, which I think was awesome. 5 of the group were drinking either tall beers or craft draft beer and we probably had 10 rounds, plus 7 dinners and an starter. We tried here because we were looking for something in the area that wasn't a chain restaurant which is hard to do. They had 2 bands so there was an $8 cash cover which was fine. When we got there it was pretty empty until 9 or so. The Bears, Cubs and Sox were all playing on the tvs which was great. Our server was impressive, we never had empty drinks but she was also not pushy and annoying. We started with 4 of the 7 and she patiently waited as we ordered in stages for all of us. Our food was good, about average for a sports bar and the price was good. People in prior reviews talked about it being loud and dark and I am not sure what else you would expect it's a sports bar with live bands.

  • Ben B.

Sure is empty on a week night... which was a blessing and a curse. Southern Tier 2xIPA on tap... for $8.00. There were about 3 other tables of people and a guy tried to sell my friend a watch, before being carried out because he couldn't stand on 2 feet. The cuban chicken sandwich was good, but there was a little too much mayo. The wait staff and food were good, the clientelle, ambiance and location were not.

I love tailgaters because its the neighborhood sports bar to watch the Bears, Blackhawks (partied there when we when the cup) and Bulls. If you want the frilly stuff then go to Naperville. Tailgaters is for good down home folks to get together and watch the game. Good food and drink specials,.....see ya Sunday! Bear down!

  • Chris B.

I haven't done a Yelp review in a while, mainly because I'm a boring git that tends to stick with the places he knows, rather than explore new places. I went to Tailgaters as part of the WSCR 670 AM Bud Light Who Needs Two Tavern Tour with Boers and Bernstein, much like my earlier review of Tilted Kilt Woodridge. Tailgaters is part of a strip mall, which means internal lighting composes a solid 90% of the lighting. I don't blame them for it, but it does create a dark feel for the bar that, personally, I didn't like. I perfer slightly lighter, airier locales. Like I said, I won't deduct points for that. The food I got was solid and reasonably priced, although slightly more expensive than I expected. Maybe it was because I was there from 1-5, but the menu felt sparse to me. My major problem with my experience, though, was the server. She was extremely kind and nice on the eyes, but she was constantly asking me if I needed another beer, or another meal. I know what you're thinking: "Chris, you magnificent american stallion that me and my six attractive women friends want to do things to, how is being asked if you want something a bad thing?" The answer to that comes in both duration and consistency. Asking me if I'd like another beer is fine. Asking me when I clearly have more than half a bottle left is pushing it. Asking me five minutes after asking before (and being told both times that I'm not done) is very annoying. Given that the usual stereotype of waitstaff is that they aren't around, I almost feel bad for docking Tailgaters for it, but it was annoying enough to stick into my head. All in all, Tailgaters didn't pop out to me as a place that I'm going to actively attempt to go there. An average place that doesn't have a Must-Go-Here trait that makes me want to invest loyalty.

I gave this place 2 stars because the waitress was pretty attentive. She got several orders incorrect but blamed it on the kitchen (??). I went here to see The Steepwater Band and Y&T. The entrance process leaves much to be desired. We all were standing in one line. Then they had people with tickets check in with one guy and people that did will call check in with another guy. There ended up being 2 lines to get in one door. People that got there early ended up in the middle of the pack. There was no plan for people that wanted to buy tickets once they got there. There were reserved seats and reserved areas. I didn't see anything when I purchased the tickets about reserved seats. I would have bought them if I did. We ended up in the very back of the place not being able to see much.

Typical bar, nothing extraordinary. To be fair, I didn't have any food, and I'll give the bartender credit for being attentive and friendly. Otherwise, whatever.

This is a sports bar in a strip mall in Bolingbrook. That kinda says it all right there. I will add that every time I go there the 'regulars' stare at everyone who walks in, so don't feel special when they lock onto you. Oh, and when they have bands the sound is good, but it gets really really loud!

  • Michelle H.

Went here Sunday night. Usually, I prefer a pub or tavern to a sports bar, but this place really changed my mind. This place is large, with a warehouse industrial look to it, kind of dark, most of the lighting coming from neon and the many televisions and screens adorning the walls. The beer selection here is really good. I ran the gamut starting with a couple of PBR's and then a Killians, and finally rounding out with a Hacker Pshorr. (Had a killer headache this morning, but it was worth it!) Also noticed they had Modelo, Corona, Smithwicks, and other really good imports. And Blue Moon on tap. Since there was no major sporting events going on, the place was probably not as packed as it could have been, so it was rather comfortable to just sit up at the bar and talk. The music issuing from the juke was a variety as well (covering everything from country to Milli Vanilli) reflecting the different clientele. There were about four people running the bar (which was just huge) so service was pretty decent, with the exception of our last drink, which we almost had to tackle someone to get it for us. We also split a cheeseburger, and for bar food, it hit the spot. They have a quite extensive menu, including pasta entrees, pizza, and a wide assortment of appetizers. Definitely a place I will be going back to in the near future!

  • Bruce T.

Tailgaters is a well established Bolingbrook sports bar with a young, couples clientele (not a good place for kids under 21). Reasonable prices, very laid-back friendly service, and pub-grub are the keys to success here. Friday and Saturday nights can get crowded, but isn't that one of the reasons to go out to a bar? Even though you may see a lot of cars in the parking lot, Tailgates is HUGE inside and has one of the largest continuous bars in the southwest burbs. Tailgaters is usually a noisy, high-energy, bar especially on Karaoke nights so if you are looking for a romantic booth to "pop the question" you should look elsewhere. Tailgaters also has a number of "theme" night contests (check their web site for dates) that are well attended and fun. Highly recommended because of the friendly staff, high energy level, and low prices.

This place has good drinks specials. The wings are good. The main thing I love about this place is concerts. It is one of the better bars in the area to see a show at. The fun factor is pretty high. If you want to have a few beers and watch a fun show, this is your place.

  • H C.

Okay place. I only spent about an hour here but I had a lot to drink in that hour and the bartenders were really cool and quick with the drinks. The music was good and the people watching was hilarious. Let's just say there were a lot of girls wearing outfits they should not be wearing and droppin' it like its hot on the dance floor. Hah! The space looks like your typical suburb sports bar, I dont have anything bad to say about it. My mom lives down the street and if I was visiting and looking to go out I wouldn't be opposed to hitting this place up again.

Slow, bad service & no free refills....but they don't tell you that. When the bill comes you have $20.00 in soda/tea charges!

OK- for a local neighborhood place, this is a fun place! It is always packed on the weekend and for sports games. There is a pretty lively crowd here on the weekend. If you hit the right night they have a great band or awesome DJ. Great dance floor. I have gotten shnockered many nights here! Very friendly crowd, great bartenders. I heard they have some great bar type food here, never tried it but looks good.

I was looking for something to do and a friend of mine told me about Tailgaters. Being new to the area I thought why not. There are big screen TV's everywhere so if you are a sports fana this may be the place for you. The place is pretty dark, not a lot of lighting. The drinks are reasonable, although you may have to ask for a double shot (we did) then they were fine. The fried pickles were awesome, top of my list so far. The music was extermely loud and definitely not my type of music but to each his own. Overall, if you are sitting at home, bored, with nothing to to. Come on out!!

First time visit to see the band, Local H, on Saturday May 3. Had 2 VIP tickets for $20 which got us a tall table and 2 seats near the stage. Server was pleasant and attentive as were the bouncers and greeter. BLT and onion rings were tasty. Nice beer selection too. Plan on coming back for another show later this month.

Horrible place in customer service alone. We ordered shots of fire ball they brought hot dam, not even close. Fireball is smooth and goes very easy, what they brought was harsh harsh harsh, had Jager bombs they said were made with red bull, guess what nope tasted like rock star or probably something more generic. My first jack and coke was weak. My second was very strong. In short they say oh yes it is this or yes we have that, but they don't and try to charge you outrageous prices for it. Also nachos were junk

This place is horrible. If you're having a jeremy roenick signing staff your kitchen. We went to order and we're told they couldn't take any food orders for 15 minutes. My first time there. I'll never go back
