I love the nachos here! I tried the tacos and wasn't too impressed, though it may be that they were ordered blandly. Lime has a lot of options when it comes to sauces and salsa, my favorite are the pineapple salsa (which I could basically eat by itself), and the gator sauce (I still haven't tried them all). The first time I went I took my dog and sat outside. It took us a few minutes to find a clean table, and the outside atmosphere kind of sucks because its literally right on the road without any nice scenery. I won't be bringing my dog there again, but I have enjoyed the food both times that I went.

I liked the lunch I got at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill. We almost didn't go in because when we arrived the line was out the door. It wasn't a problem because the line moved quickly. Lime reminded me of Moe's when I saw it and the similarities wouldn't end there. One thing that was nice is that you don't have to stand around and wait while your food is prepared. They give everyone a numbered plastic lime to put on your table so the servers can find you, which allows you to get a drink while you're waiting. The food was brought to us quickly. My quesadillas and chips tasted *exactly* like food at Moe's. What makes Lime different is that they have a large salsa bar that offers a wide variety of salsa types. There were constantly workers there cleaning the salsa bar, adding more ice, and refilling containers. I particularly liked the pineapple salsa. It was excellent. I can't say that I would go out of my way to come here but if I'm in the area I would definitely eat here again.

Finally made a trip to The Lime after a trip to the Container Store worked up my appetite. It's your usual walk-up Mexican restaurant...burritos, tacos, salads, etc. Things that set it apart from Moe's or Chipotle -An extensive salsa bar (10 selections including pineapple salsa) -Mini ice cubes (yes, I notice these things) -Soft corn tortillas (most places only have crispy) The staff was very friendly and helpful. And, for it being lunch rush, and very busy, there were still plenty of seats. I did like how with the soft corn tortillas, they doubled them up (they have a tendency to fall apart). Queso was really good! Atmosphere was a little loud for my preference. I'd definitely come here again, but probably wouldn't choose it over Chipotle.

Comparable to Chipotle or Tijuana Flats in quality. Good potion sizes and the food comes out rather quickly. I was very satisfied!

A good place for a quick bite. Food is fresh. Multiple salsas and hot sauces to choose from. Easy going both for lunch and dinner. Will be back.

Stopped in here after leaving the airport and the line was out the door, welcome to lunch time. The line dissipated quickly and before you know it we were sitting at our table. The tortilla soup was delicious, loaded with chicken, the taste was amazing. I went with a "naked" burrito, welcome to diet week. The salsa and hot sauce bar is worth the trip alone, but the food does kick it up a notch.

I AM IN LOVE!! Moving from Texas there isn`t a lot of Tex-mex places here in florida so to me this took me by surprise. I actually went here while vacationing out in Miami and found out they actually had a location in Tampa. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Never had a bad experience. Food AMAZING!! Service is pretty good, anytime I eat there the manager always ask if everything was alright, if I liked my food etc.. The Nach"yo" Mama Nachos is my favorite thing to eat and any of the burritos. Of course Chipotle is the best but this place is tied with Chipotle. The only difference is Chipotle is on the healthier side if your looking for a healthier option. The salsa bar OMG, I love the mango salsa thing. Very impressive. I`m a super picky about mexican or hispanic food period so for me to enjoy this is a big step. Looking for a quick lunch or supper, this is your place.

On a recent weekend trip to Tampa, we discovered Lime Fresh, and ended up going there every day we were in town! We really enjoyed the selection of menu items and I loved that I could substitute grilled fish for any of the other proteins in the dish. Also loved the salsa bar, the ability to sample different kinds and getting additional chips (at no charge) was another really nice touch. Definitely recommend it above some similar places such as Chipolte or Qdoba.

Love the design and service. You walk up to the register and order and you're given a number. Then they bring the food to your table. Lots of hot sauce and salsa choices. The queso is yummy. I love their beef queso burrito. Great size and flavor, though the rice is just plain white rice. I do wish the rice had more flavor or cilantro in it like other similar restaurants. Wish they had more locations in Tampa.

Don't waste your time or money. I am a huge Chipotle fan but I wanted to try something different so my boyfriend and I went to Lime for a lunch date. The food was TERRIBLE. The food had no flavor whatsoever, I got the steak salad and my bf got the steak burrito. The steak was bad quality and overcooked. The salsa bar is only there to overcompensate for the bad food. The only reason I gave this place a star was because the girl at the front desk was very pleasant and patient with us while we decided what we wanted.

This place is pretty good. Large menu for a Mexican Grill; salad, burritos, tacos, etc. I had a taco salad, which was pretty basic but had the essentials. I would go back, nice décor.

Being a big fan of Mexican fast-food a la Chipotle, Moes, Taco Bus... I wasn't overly excited to come here given my fellow Yelpers reviews of the place, but after stopping by for lunch, I was pleasantly surprised. The burrito was pretty good and I liked the chopped jalapenos mixed into them. Its true the number of chips was limited and the salsa bar wasn't that special in my opinion. The hot sauce bar was cool, but I think I prefer the one at Tijuana Flats. The atmosphere is a little more upscale than other places. Its less hip than Chipotle, less wanna be healthy than Moes, less corny than Tijuana Flats, and cleaner than Taco Bus so it may have found its niche. I came here during the latter part of the lunch period so it wasn't that busy, its probably best to avoid prime lunch periods given the area has a lot of businesses with hungry worker bees looking for lunch at noon. I will be adding this place to my rotation of lunch places from now on...

I have eaten at multiple "burrito bar" type places...this is by far the best one! It is also affordable and the customer service is on point! I'm definitely coming back...soon!!!

  • Aaron M.

I love their Salsa bar. But everything else is just ok.. THe burritos are proabably at the low end of the scale of all places. The chips are ok... Their is no allure to this place other than the Awesome salsa bar honestly. They have crushed ice.. which is ok They have a sauce on their burrito -- that is just awful.. Smoky and tastes like dirty underwear smells.. make sure you get that sauce taken off!

Chicken in tacos was tough, no flavor. The burrito was tasty but cold. No ice or water in machine. We won't be back.

YUCK. The only redeeming quality about this place is that they have an entire help yourself toppings bar with a variety of salsas, cilantro, and lime. I tried two different tacos - both were extremely underwhelming. They put a lot of sauce on their tacos, causing the tacos to be watery and drip all over your tray. Not a fan. Best part? Your meal comes with chips, but when I say chips, I mean a very small amount. I was given 11 (yes, I counted). If they're going to be stingy, they should at least decrease the size of the serving plates so then it wouldn't look like they literally scattered a few chips on my tray! We also ordered their classic guac. GROSS. Not much avocado (what was there, was a bit brown - um, eeew), filled with fillers. Yuck yuck yuck. Probably some of the worst guac I have ever had. Grocery store ones are better! For a chain restaurant, this place sure is stingy with their food! Also, no, their food is not fast. Service took forever, and there weren't even that many people there. As I exited, their sign read, "rock out with your guac out." First, sexual innuendo for a fast food type chain restaurant - unprofessional and inappropriate. Second, no, I will not be rocking with your guac, because it's nasty. I presume this is the place that made Green Lemon change their name from The Lime. if so, Green Lemon, you have nothing to fear. Such substandard tacos in a town filled with so many more fresh and authentic choices will hopefully not last very long.

Too much salt. I got the big Cali Burrito. $7.50 for hamburger in a mediocre burrito. California burritos typically contain french fries. This one did not. Two employees were on break outside on the patio in their smart phones. The quesadilla tasted good but came with the grosses white ranch sauce i've ever tasted.

Interesting location considering Chipotle and Moe's are so close by. I walked in and didn't really know what to do. No one yelled "WELCOME to The Lime!" and there was no one else jn line in front of me for me to follow their lead and eavesdrop on their order. Why was I a little flustered upon walking in? Their menu is not very user friendly. My main issue was the disturbingly low occurrence of guacamole on it. I scanned the menu for something with guacamole on it, as I wanted whatever that would be (avocados being present on a menu item is usually how I decide what I'm going to pick). Nothing seemed to come with guac. Could I add guac to my meal? I had no idea how much it would cost since there was no mention of add ons, so I refrained. Perhaps it would have given my naked beef burrito (everything but the tortilla) some more flair. Another gripe about the menu: be clear if "beef" means ground beef or steak. They had delicious looking steak cooking on the grill which is why I chose beef for my meal. I was pretty disappointed it ended up being ground beef. They DO get major points for their salsa bar, which in addition to about 8 different salsas includes fresh cilantro. I'm a huge salsa verde fan, and theirs was pretty on point. Overall, this is a middle-of-the-road casual Mexican joint on par with Tijuana Flats or Moe's. I will give it another try but I'll probably go for a quesadilla or tacos since my burrito bowl didn't leave much of an impression.

Good food, great location but over priced! My friend ordered the steak taco while I ordered the steak quesadilla. I must say the flavor of the steak was like a little fiesta going on inside my mouth each meal came with a side of chips but you have to order the queso as extra. . There's also a salsa bar to compliment your spiciness as you please with many to choose from even hot sauce. The location and atmosphere is perfect for those wanting a quick bite. The only thing I disliked was the pricing, it is overpriced especially for the portions received.

Great experience...the food is made with fresh ingredients and it tastes delicious. Tried the veg taco salad and it was impressive. The salsa bar is one of the better ones since they have non typical items such as fresh cilantro, pineapple salsa, black beans and corn salsa. Given the price, customer service, taste, and cleanliness of the restaurant, I give this experience a 5 star. Hopefully we'll have similar experience next time.

As a California guy, I was skeptical about Mexican in Florida, especially fast food. I got a big burrito. It was good, the salsa was good (needed more salt). Service was very good and the prices were reasonable. When I go back to Tampa, I will stop here for lunch.

Good fast quick lunch convenient location to the airport. Lots of choices and easy to get to with good parking.

  • Heather M.

For a take-away or fast-casual food place, it's not terrible, but the basic components of the food itself should taste better. I keep giving it a 'second try' but every time I've eaten there the soft taco tortillas have been a little bit hard, dry, and flavorless. I'd say this place could be really good if they improve the taste of the meat and the tortillas, but other than that, not bad. The salsa bar is probably the saving grace for Lime.

Heed this warning or you will soon shut down: Your tex-mex and hard taco shells are not fresh, toast them too, they were cold and stale, gross. Cut the chicken pieces smaller, when I bite into my taco and pull out a piece of chicken, I don't want to have a dark empty cave where my food used to be, I want more chicken to balance out my next bite. If I order a "bowl" or tortilla-less burrito it is because I want to cut down on my carbohydrates, why then would you serve me a bowl full of rice with only traces of beans in it?!?!? The salsas are the only thing I have to add zest to my meal, please put out larger cups as I can't hold 5 cups in one trip (thanks though for making the small ladles equal to one small cup) Make sure your associates say SOMETHING when they deliver and serve food to tables. I watched a construction worker from next door get his lunch thrown in front of him as if he were a dog. Consider infusing your rice with fresh lime juice or using your plain salsa in your meals instead of simple tomatoes. I'm not into spicy stuff but if I were I would be disappointed with some of the salsa you put out, plus everything is a bit bland without it. Look to see what people aren't eating after they leave. I couldn't believe what I saw! I ate everything of course because I don't waste food but it just pissed me off even more- I love tacos but not like this. WHY?...... the only reason I came in was because there was no parking at Chipotle down the street. You think you have a nice location now but after all these other restaurants open nearby the customers you burned will just go there instead. I won't be back. Good luck!

The food is mediocre at best. The queso in my queso burrito had a very strange, unappealing taste. The asada salsa tasted like soap. However, I did enjoy the suave and verde salsas. Along with the disappointing burrito, the chips tasted like they had been sitting out for some time. Looking behind the counter, the grill does not look clean. I would suggest they put more effort into their food to match their nicely decorated restaurant.

I really enjoy the Lime! There are many office buildings in the area, therefore, lunchtime is very busy. I recommend getting their early or go after the lunch rush. If you do happen to go during the lunch rush, the line moves fairly quick. My favorite item on the menu is the I Wanna Tijuana Taco which is a soft taco wrapped in a hard taco! So delicious! They have a salsa bar with many options. They also have my favorite coke zero with the little ice cubes.

This was our first time eating here and we were excited because the tag line was "Fresh Mexican". The steak salad was big and very good, as was the quesadilla, the queso burrito was big and was grilled which really set it off. The service was very fast but the restaurant had very few guests. The biggest downer was the chips were a little on the stale side and with "Fresh" in the name you would have thought they would have had home made chips fresh out of the fryer. They really dropped the ball serving stale chips.

  • Stephanie M.

I came here because it was the only fast place open on my way home one night. The frozen sangria is pretty good, but that's about it. I ordered a burrito and it was filled with jalapeños. There were more jalapeños than all of the other ingredients combined. It was inedible, but since I was starving, I endured it. I refused to go back only to be convinced to go again by my boyfriend. I figured I would give it another chance, but I was just as disappointed the second time around. I ordered a quesadilla (without a pound of jalapeños) and it was mediocre at best. I could make a better quesadilla myself. Needless to say, I probably wouldn't give this place a third chance.

Two words: Not good. Over priced. Not fresh. - OK, that was six. Calm down. I would definitely rank Chipotle, even Moe's, over this place. Recently went here for lunch with a co-worker. In her words: "my Mello Yellow was the best thing from this place." - Queso Steak Burrito: Ew. Tasted processed. Didn't even finish it, it was that bad. - Chips and Queso: mixing salsa and Velveeta tastes better than this stuff. Terrible tortilla chips. Too thick, no flavor (except oil), practically stale. - Salsa: the verde salsa is gummy - like some type of preservative has been added to it. Gross. Not fresh. Also, I'm personally offended that while I was waiting for my to-go order, an employee asked me to step over to another part of the room - which was approximately five steps from where I was standing. I'm nearly small enough to legally be classified as a midget, clearly wasn't in the way, and it didn't make a difference where I was standing. I don't take orders from nobody!

Terribly flavorless food. Avoid at all costs. Make your way down the street to Chipotle if you want fast Mexican food that tastes good.

Chipotle and Moe's: there's a new sheriff in town. Okay, I love this place and here's a quick list of reasons why: 1. I ordered the nachos (upgraded to steak) and they were great! I was totally surprised by the amount -- and quality -- of the meat and the size of the portions for the money. Waaaaay better than Chipotle. 2. The soft drink machine has *crushed* ice. Love that! It's the little things, y'know? 3. They play great 80s music! 4. Impressive salsa bar. 5. Very clean and spacious. 6. Service was quick, attentive and pleasant. Nice job, guys and gals! If you've been wondering about this place, wonder no more - give them a try!

The concept seems interesting and the location is very convenient to International and Westshore malls but there's a Chipotle up the street and I would rather eat there. I went during the week right after work on my first visit. The service was fast but not friendly. The food was lackluster but the salsa made it better. I enjoyed the pico de gallo and verde salsa the best. The "hot" sauce is kind of smoky and it wasn't really hot enough for me. There are a lot of bottled hot sauces available. Those helped spice things up. I had the tacos with chicken, queso, and fried onions, peppers, and jalapenos. The chips they served didn't taste too fresh. I gave this place another try so I went during lunch. I ordered online and when I showed up waited for anyone to acknowledge me at the take out in the back. I still had to wait 10 minutes to get my food in spite of ordering online. What is the point of online ordering if it's not going to be ready by the time I get there? The quesadilla I had was OK and again the shining star was the salsa. My husband likes this place. The hot sauce selection, in addition to the salsas, appeals to him. I find that if the salsa and hot sauces make the food good, the food isn't good to begin with.

This is a good alternative to Chipotle. They have a huge selection of salsas and hot sauces. We had chicken tacos and veggie quesadilla. Food tastes good, service is quick and good seating options.. indoor and outdoor.

OK I don't understand why the star ratings so far are so bad if everyone is saying they really liked the food. Maybe the ratings are from competitors? So here is the REAL blow-by-blow breakdown of this place. YES it is mobbed. That's because there is a HUGE HUGE HUGE pent-up demand for fast casual Mexican in Tampa, and people are flocking there. After all, let us review our options for fast Mexican food in Tampa Bay: 1. Chipotle = Sodium-filled food, pre-cooked and later boiled in plastic bags. A digestive nightmare. 2. Tijuana Flats/Moe's = Can't really tell the difference between these crapholes; both are substandard Mex joints that would go out of business in California, Texas, etc. 3. Taco Bus = Tasteless food served in cardboard tortillas in a dirty restaurant.YUM! But back to Lime Fresh: Do not just show up. Place your order online before you head over there. When you get there, go to the back of the restaurant where the takeout cashier is. Pay for your food there, take it to a table, and eat. This took me 5 minutes. And watch everyone else wait in line for 30 minutes. I had the chicken soft tacos and my friend had the chicken cobb salad. Both were good. Both tasted fresher than any food at the above-mentioned places. Lime Fresh is not the same as Moe's, Tijuana Flats or Chipotle. It is much much better. Is it the best Mexican food you have ever had? NO. Is it authentic Mexican, Cal-Mex, Tex-Mex, etc.? NO. Is it better than the fast food Mexican food in Texas, Arizona, California, etc.? NO. But is it better than Chipotle, Tijuana Flats, etc.? YES!!!!!!! The ingredients here are much fresher than at Chipotle and Tijuana Flats, you can taste it. (Well, let's face it, the food from Chipotle comes already cooked in plastic bags, which they later boil.) The execution with some of the meats at Lime Fresh is not there yet, but I am hopeful they will get better with that. This place is automatically better than the above mentioned places JUST for the extensive salsa bar, which is standard in Cali, Ariz, Texas, etc. but most no one else in Tampa has. And the pico de gallo is pretty decent, as are the other salsas. The menu is extensive, the dining space is nice and huge, the online order process was seamless. I would def. go back when it's off-peak hours.

I want to like this place but I always feel back an hour after I leave here. Other than the nachos and salsa I've learned to limits my trips here no matter who invites me.

Tasty Mexican food nothing fancy, they did have a salsa bar that was really good and about 100 different bottles of hot sauce. Everything comes with endless chips. All and all I was happy with the food and the price.

I was really underwhelmed with this place. It's a lot of show and not much else. It's decorated very nicely and it is huge. It's certainly not as hipster as Chipotle or annoying as Moe's (WELCOME TO MOE'S!!), but there's really nothing awesome about it that would keep me coming back. The chicken was meh at best. It reminded me exactly of the chicken at Moe's. Yes, you do get chips with your meal, but you can count them on two hands. It's strange, they give you unlimited salsa, but the chips they have a stranglehold on. As I walked out of there, I knew what this place reminded me of. A Tex-mex kinda place you'd eat at in an airport in some random city between flights. The Habenero Salsa was awesome and hot and if anything brings me back, it'll be that. Oh, and for the price they charged - it wasn't even close to worth it!

Best burrito spot in Tampa Bay, easily. I used to frequent the original locations in South Florida and I am elated they finally made it up here. There is no comparison to Tijuana Splats or Shitpotle, this place has everything fresh including an amazing salsa bar. This is a burrito/taco spot, so stick with what they are known for. Staff was friendly and welcoming and I think the negative reviews are a little biased since ALL restaurants have opening pains in the first month. Regardless of the "chain restaurant" philosophy, this will be your best bet. My meal of choice: Big Cali Chicken Burrito, side of guac, habanero salsa mixed with the pico de gallo. It will be the closest you get to "west coast style" in Tampa Bay.

My coworkers and I like to go to this place for lunch since it get us out of the office. It's an alternative to Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's Southwest Grill, and (yes the fast food joint) Taco Bell. I enjoy the naked burrito with no meat -- it's served in a bowl. To support the volume of customers at the Container Store and Lime, the parking can be challenging during lunch time. The wait staff and management have been pleasant and very nice. I appreciate the "we'll bring your food to you" effect versus carrying my own tray of food; no tip required. :)

  • Manish B.

Second time having lunch there, would say so so at best. The meat is fair and the burritos are stuffed with a lot if rice. Would prefer meat and veggies only. At least they have beer.

  • Ashley B.

The best thing about Lime Fresh is that they have Mellow Yellow in their soda machines. Seriously, amazing! Unfortunately the food wasn't nearly as good as the Mellow Yellow. I paid $7.50 for chips and queso and a soda. Ridiculous! I figured it was worth the splurge if the queso was good. Unfortunately not. It tasted like they melted a can of Velveeta and added a jar of salsa to it. And the chips - no flavor except a crunchy, slightly stale taste. I also tried the pineapple salsa. Publix and Target both have great store brands that were MUCH better than the one at Lime Fresh. If the prices were lower (closer to Taco Bell's prices), I MIGHT be back. I'd prefer to spend a few bucks less eating fresher, healthier, yummier food from Chipotle!

My coworkers and I headed out here for lunch today, good thing we called our order in, there was a long line out of the door at 12:01. The atmosphere is very busy, but not to chaotic. I ordered the Steak salad that comes with bacon and carrots, i forgot the name (sorry). It was a good mix of ingredients, but i didn't understand why they had taco shell halves (both stale) included. Although we were the only ones at the "pick up, to-go line", the guy in charge of the area ignored us for for 5 min, he was on the phone, probably taking an order, but he had his back to us the entire time, he would've been nice if he at least acknowledged us. Overall, I won't dismiss this "authentic" Mexican place just yet, but it didn't blow me away.

Went for dinner yesterday-takeout. I ordered the taco salad. Let's just say that they gave me exactly what I ordered. A single taco shell with tons of lettuce. The beef was not ground it was more like meatballs. I added black beans and they seemed to be undercooked. I was very disappointed.

We ate at this restaurant on the way to a Bucs game. We LOVE Moe's and figured it would be similar. Unfortunately it was not so. The food was overpriced and very bland. We got excited when we saw that they had a salsa bar, but we didn't actually like ANY of the salsas, and we tried all of them. The best thing about this restaurant was the fact that they had cilantro on the salsa bar. If they hadn't had cilantro, it would have been nearly inedible. I had the skinny chicken burrito and it pretty much tasted like nothing. The chips (what few they actually give you) were stale. Also, it took FOREVER to get out food and the place was practically empty. Would MUCH rather eat at Tijuana Flats, Moe's, or Taco Bus. Not only is the food better, but you get more value for your money. This restaurant is most definitely not better than any of those three. in fact, it doesn't even come close. Needless to say, we will not be going back.

I tried the chicken naked burrito, good size portions so if you're not very hungry I would suggest order to go. I order guacamole on the side and I have to say not my favorite, the lime taste was too intense to even taste the guacamole. Overall a good location for lunch. They also have the margarita w/the mini coronas...a must try if you haven't before.

Not impressed. Chips cold. Salsa flavorless. Burrito had little meat, mostly rice. Don't care for crushed ice instead of cubes. I rate this as a no.

As a girl who loves fresh, fast Mexican, I was excited to visit Lime Fresh! The customer service was great and their menu was extensive, I was impressed. I ordered a nudie burrito, essentially a burrito bowl, and my husband ordered the steak salad. I loved that the meat was cooked to order and not pre-made and again everything was fresh. My burrito was okay other than that, however. The rice wasn't anything special in my bowl, and the rest of the flavor was okay. I'd like to go back and try other items on their menu and take advantage of their WTF, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 4-7 pm $2 tacos and $2 drinks. I recommend trying this spot, for sure.

I went here for the first time about a month ago to order something to go. It was just me, a single food order and they couldn't get the order right. Unfortunately, I didn't discover that they put refried beans in my burrito (instead of black beans that I asked for) until after I got home. My meal was wasted because they couldn't get a simple request right. I reached out to them on Twitter, got a response asking me for my e-mail address. I thought they were going to make things right. Weeks have gone by with no contact from the company and/or restaurant. It appears they just asked for my e-mail, publicly on Twitter, to make people think they care. I have not been back and don't plan to at this point. Restaurants are only in business because of the people that come in. If the restaurant doesn't care about the experience of their customers, then I don't care to support them.

This is exactly why yelp is sometimes completely useless except to find places when you're not from there. This review is to say how great of a place this is BUT I don't want the stars to go up because its already so packed I don't want any stuck up yelp snobs coming here. This food is tasty, fresh, and affordable. Sure it takes a bit longer then Chipotle and I hate Moes but so worth it. They have such a great habenero salsa on the salsa bar that alone makes me keep coming back. So please don't rate this place any more stars to keep it real ;)

I was looking for a Mexican Restaurant near the Tampa airport and this one had a fairly good review on Google, so I thought I would try it. It was a mistake, however. The food was more expensive than at Moe's or Baja Fresh & not as good. I had cheese dip with bacon, which although delivered very quickly, was almost cold. Also, it was not as good as the dip I make with Velveta & Rotel Tomatoes. The quesadilla was tasty, but nothing special. And the raspberry tea was just flavored water! The cost was pretty high for the quality & taste of the food & more than similar meals at Moe's or Baja Fresh. I should have realized what was coming, because salsa & chips are not free, but cost several $'s!! I can't recommend this place.

I was invited to Lime's friends and family launch event back in June or July. I found the restaurant nice and 'almost upscale' compared to similarly-themed competitors. The food was tasty, not very authentic, but very edible. The only complaint I really have is their frozen cocktails - not very potent but super sweet.

If you like good whitesican food then this is your place. Big burritos at $7.25ish a piece and honestly it's not too bad. I prefer authentic but this is my girls style so I am sure with their deals that they have beer and food combos on certain days we will be back!

I hate to be harsh but the wait was terrible. It was crowded. The food was mediocre. I had the fish tacos. While there was plenty of food, you shouldn't have to rely on the hot sauce bar to flavor your food. The corn tortillas were soft, but tasteless. The fish was bland as well. I've heard the steak burritos are good, so I may try that next time and revise this review. Until then, this is how I'm rating my experience.

Was hoping for a new alternative to the usual fast casual Mex fare in Tampa, but alas, will have to keep looking... The Good: The online order process was fast and efficient. When I arrived for lunch, line was out the door, but I was able to walk right in and get my food right away. The red salsa and pico de gallo were excellent, very flavorful/ The actual food, however-- not so good. The bean and rice burrito was overstuffed with bland rice. No refried beans to be found, even though they were supposed to be included. I asked to add lettuce and jalapenos, and thought they had forgotten, but towards the end of the burrito, all concentrated together, were about 4 jalapenos, a few shreds of lettuce, and a dab of sour cream that wasn't supposed to be on there (I said delete sour cream on the order). Overall, a waste of $7...

The lime is another chain Mexican restaurant in the vein of Chipotle and Tijuana Flats. I had the queso burrito and chips and queso. The queso is the only redeeming thing I had. The burrito was bland and flavorless and tastes like little to no seasoning was used on anything. The chicken was cut in large chunks and was dry. The atmosphere is similar to most other chain restaurants with exception that music is downright schizophrenic, moving from adult contemporary to hip hop and techno. I understand this is not a club but it was annoying enough for everyone in my group to notice and could be easily fixed with a better muzak station or just turning it down. It was also hard to have a conversation with my friends because of the music and bad acoustics. Your time and money would be better spent at just about any other Mexican chain restaurant. More importantly why bother with these places when Tampa has several taco bus locations and Tacoson?

About the same as Chipotle. - First time trying out this place. I tried the tacos - They were fresh tasting. The atmosphere had a good vibe for happy hour or lunch. Staff was very friendly. The best thing was the fresh salsa and condiments bar.

Meh. I went to Lime Fresh hoping for a different taste/experience from Moe's and Chipotle. Went on their 2nd day in business. You start things off waiting in the hot sun outside since their line accommodates about 4 people inside. I ordered a Chicken Bacon Quesadilla and a cup of queso. The queso came out first and was really really good. Easily trumps Moe's queso, and I used to work at Moe's and would steal it regularly because I loved it so much. Sadly, this sums up the good points of my entire experience. My quesadilla was apparently screwed up by their young, inexperienced staff. The rest of my crew got their food way before I did and were mostly done by the time my food arrived, but the Manager did take the time to apologize and gave me a beer on the house. The beer selection is minimal and are $5 a pop which is ridiculous, but at least I only had to pay for one of them. The staff was pretty good about checking on us, but when the quesadilla came, I was disappointed. It was very bland. They seem very proud of their organic black beans which is seemingly in most of the dishes they serve and are just ok. The chicken was unseasoned and a little dry and I only ate about half of it. I bagged up the rest and forgot to take it home, but that's just a testament to how forgettable it was. Additionally, the environment seemed to be suffering from some sort of identity crisis as the music went from Billy Joel to Jay-Z, to Technotronic. What? Anyway, stick to Chipotle or Moe's.

Fresh, fast and good service. I enjoyed going here as the food tasted fresh, quite a nice salsa bar setup, endless chips and nice employees. They have some happy hour specials on drinks and tacos and the inside of the restaurant is clean, energetic and inviting. The manager was visible helping out and making sure everyone was taken care of and dining room was kept clean and stocked. Ample parking and convenient location.

The Good: Above average salsa bar featuring all your favorite Mexican confidents like cilantro, black bean salsa, and pico. Price and value are there! They give you a lot of food for the amount they charge. This place has a really lively and upbeat atmosphere. It's designed with a modern open air feel + patio seating. Free AT&T Wi-Fi that's surprisingly fast. The Bad: They excel at the presentation of the food and store but not the actual...food. Seems like they put a lot of thought into every detail besides taste. Bland would be a good description. The steak fajitas were disappointing. No seasoning and there wasn't the slightest flame or grilled taste. It's like opening up a nicely wrapped seemingly expensive present only to find a knitted sweater! Well, when you see the food you're excited. It looks delicious. Color, size, texture...all perfect. But then you take your first bite and realized that your eyes have once again deceived you. The Ugly The cheese tastes like American Kraft cheese. The sour cream isn't that great either. Overall, I wasn't that impressed with the food. Good location and the store looked fantastic. Staff is also really friendly. But, like with Jemeis Winston, we want to see production. He can be the nicest guy in the world and give to charities but if he throws a couple pick-sixes in a row, he's done. Waived. Let go. Cut. And as so we Jemeis Winston, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is being cut because they can't produce food that tastes as good as it looks. However, I hate being too negative so I will say they have one of the best fresh salsa bars in the city. That's their one saving grace.

Sometimes there's lively service, but this time our order was taken by a timid individual that never even greeted us. We just received a look upon approaching the register. We chose to order our Cali Burritos as bowls (love that option!) The Big Cali Bowl was full of fresh ingredients, despite them forgetting Guacamole in mine :( Oh yes, I went to the counter and asked for it, wouldnt you? No biggie, a server brought it out soon after and the feast began. Yes, I do mean feast! The bowls are huge and I can eat a lot! The cilantro-lime rice was cooked well and the tortillas fresh crunch compliment the other textures in the bowl. I didnt get any of the hot sauces (15+ to choose from), but theres no shortage. If Taco Bell is your thing, you need to step up your game! Excellent food, inconsistent service, creative atmosphere, and cool seating options. Will return.

Clean. Nice staff. Loved their WTF happy hour. Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday its 2 4 1 beers. My friend and I had to split that deal. I ordered a chicken burrito and my friend got a salad. Both were yummy, but the salad needs some serious presentation improvement. Looked like just a "bucket of food." A small trough or something...

If you want home style tacos without making a mess at home.... this is the place for you. This was our first visit to Lime, and I'm not sure if we will be back soon. First... 75% of the items we ordered came out wrong. I ordered a kids taco for my son, and it says specifically what is on it and it came out with a ton of sour cream..... then along came my order and the same.... a ton of sour cream. Apparently someone was sour cream happy that evening. Everything tasted just like how it would if I cooked it at home... I think mine would have been a little better. We also ordered queso and the amount of chips that came with the queso was not enough to finish the queso. Also, when we were there the drink machine was not working properly, and it took a super long time for someone to come over to fix it. This was a bit frustrating since we were trying to get home. I hope if we are ever to visit again that their habits have changed for the better and that the food is a bit tastier.

This place has the best salsa bar! I was a little worried when we got here because the line was out the door. However I was impressed at how quickly we were able to place our order. They let us pick out our salsas and take a seat and brought us the food when it was ready which is better service than chipotle. I got the grilled fish tacos for $8 which Chipotle and Moes does not offer and they were very good. My other buddies got a steak queaadilla for $8, chicken burrito for $7, and taco salad for $7 and everyone enjoyed their meals. They give you plenty of chips and salsas to go with your meal! They do have alcohol here and offer a 2 for 1 happy hour Wed Thurs Fri and $2 tacos which is $1 off the regular price. They give you a lot of food. Value 9/10, Parking 10/10, Sevice is not full so 6/10, decor 7/10 nothing special but not bad either, Food 8/10 stay away from the hard shell tacos according to other reviews. Better than Moes and Chipotle but about the same as Tijuana Flats. This place gets the edge because of a huge selection of salsas and sauces though! Will be back again soon! :)

I love the idea of this place in theory and the food was good(not the best, but good). It probably would have been 4 stars for me. Service was quick and friendly and the portions were generous for the size, but the one thing I can't get over is the sauce bar. I love hot sauce and in theory the idea of a sauce bar with so many hot sauces is fantastic, but in practice the way they have it set up is really gross. The entire area was dirty and sticky when we went in, and it was mid-afternoon on a Sunday so it wasn't like it was being overlooked during a rush. A couple of employees were casually going around cleaning but just totally skipping it over. A lot of the bottles were old and crusty and it was just not a good experience. I really prefer the way other restaurants do this where they have pumps. It seems a lot more sanitary. I don't like to think the worst of people but with so many bottles just being out in the open like that it's easy for them to be contaminated some way, especially when the area isn't kept clean. I'll be back if I'm ever in the area but will sadly skip the sauce bar.

I was very, very pleasantly surprised as to how much I liked Lime after reading Yelp reviews. Granted, if I was provided with food that was not fresh or found the salsa bar to be dirty, I would also have left negative comments. My experience was quite the opposite, however. The guacamole was really good and really fresh. I had a hard taco, a small quesadilla (which is not small!) and tried my friend's naked burrito. He likes the chicken better than steak there. I only had fish (which was seasoned well and very good) and chicken in my quesadilla that became lunch as well. They had three different kinds of Honest Tea (green, unsweetened and sweetened raspberry). This made me a fan by itself. I would have given more stars if the beer selection was larger or if the food was quicker. I will be back again.

So I keep coming here because my 5 year old loves this place despite the fact that she's been to a lot better(more authentic). It isn't bad, but I don't think its exceedingly special. Her favorite thing here is the guacamole, which I admit isn't bad. I haven't eaten much of it, as she hogs the whole cup/bowl every time. It's not Chipotle good(that's the best comparison I could come up with that most can relate to), but it suffices. The fish tacos are ok, but the pieces of fish inside are pretty small. The steak fajita tacos are pretty good. They have a salsa bar with several good choices ranging from a smoky one, a pineapple one, and others plus pico de gallo and cilantro. This is good because everything you order comes with chips. There are also LOTS of bottles of hot sauce to choose from. They do carry Mexican beer and make margaritas, but I've never tried either. I will say that the service here is really good. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Because my daughter really likes here, I'm sure I'll be back, and I won't necessarily complain.

I must say I wasn't really looking forward to this place. I have been mexican food out. But I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Cali burrito with chicken. While it was good, it wasn't like any burrito I've ever had in Cali. ( but I must admit I haven't been since 2000) Next time we go I will try the tacos. They looked great walking by our table while they were being served. WTF??? Wed, thu, fri they have $2 tacos. I think there is a time posted too but don't remember.

I stopped in about a half hour from closing time and was greeted by the very friendly staff and they answered a couple questions that I had since it was my first time there. My food came out very fast and they told me about the salsa and hot sauce bar that I dove into. I took everything togo and ate at home since they were so close to closing time. The bacon and avacado quesadilla was great, the burritos we had were large and filling, the chips and salsa tasted fresh, and with the extra salsas and hot sauces that I was able to take with me each bite was different from the last.

As a vegetarian traveling to Tampa for a conference, finding a place that had quick service, different types of food and vegetarian options was awesome. My favorite was the fresh salsa bar - I just have some sort of odd fetish about delicious, unlimited amount of a variety of fresh salsa. I got a drink and the veggie nachos, giving me plenty of opportunities to use a multitudes of different salsa. Servers were friendly and fairly quick. I will say it felt quite a bit overpriced for what I got, but at least I could eat something beyond mozzarella sticks and iceberg salad.

Not bad as far as quick serve Mexican food establishments go. You order at the counter and they bring it to the table. They have a nice selection of salsas available as well. The food is pretty much run of the mill. I feel like you can do better if you really feel like Mexican.

Always a great option near International Plaza on my way home during Happy Hour on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday because they offer their regular chicken or beef tacos (hard or soft) for just $2 each. Chips are included plus anything I want from that tasty salsa bar and I often receive my food faster than I can finish filling my salsa containers. I like the value, the taste, the speed of service and look forward to having more than just a sample of their wonderful frozen sangria (also specially priced on their "WTF Happy Hour") on a future visit where I'm in no hurry to get back home.

If you go at lunch and see the line out the door, no problem as the line moves quickly - speedy service here. I had fish & beef tacos with crispy shell. The filling was skimpy, covering only about a third of the shell. "Where's the beef?" The ice tea is really good (3 options) and you get a large slice of lime for it, not a tiny sliver like many places. The salsa bar has 8 or so choices and the pineapple salsa very good. The cups for the salsa are tiny, but it is a free add -on, not a menu option. Very nice decor and I will return.

This is Mexican American food. It was so good. I loved the salsa bar, which was clean and had so many options. They have a huge variety of hot sauces. We ordered the nachos which were incredible tasting. And we ordered the fajitas, which arrived sizzling. Food had great taste and big portions.

Dear Plain Jane, I found you here. You were encased as a hard shell taco with chicken and ground beef. You screamed my name out and said you were $2 each on wed thru Fridays from 4-7. I said hell yeah, what a bargain. You tricked me, though. You enticed me by showing me pineapple salsa and sweet black bean corn salsa and limes to fancy you up. You simply were even over priced bc you didn't show your taste and your finesse. You were not plain, just bleh. Sorry. Hope you have better days!

Taco Tuesday is amazing! I'm a fan of anything steak. Not a single steak taco dials appoints! Tacos are fresh, thoughtful, and an explosion of flavor. It can get pretty crowded as soho fills up, so try to arrive before you're starving. Great selection of margarita and tequilas!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
