Just ok. Really nothing special about this place. I've tried Gondolier a couple times and every time I leave a little disappointed. The food is just a bit plain and kinda boring. If anything, the service has always been good here. But I have yet to try anything that made me say Wow!!! If there's no wow then there's something missing. For me it's all about the Pizza, give me a nice crust with some good quality tomato sauce and of course great mozzarella and you have my attention. Unfortunately Gondolier falls short on these areas. It's just average, not bad and far from great. I'm willing to try a few more items from their menu, perhaps some pizzas are better than others. I really want to like this restaurant, once you've had good pizza there's a certain standard that must be met. I'll update my review if they prove me wrong, I'm ok with them making me eat my words. But so far the Yelp gang seems to be on my side on this one.

Sauce was bland. Stromboli was burned badly but the meat was cold inside. The menu has too many options. Perhaps the other options they are better at cooking, and they should stick to what they know best. I will never know, because I won't return. Italian is not it. We were one of two tables seated at the time. It took 15 minutes before the waitress acknowledged us. Another 10+ minutes before we got our drinks (fountain soda about 5 steps away) and throughout the meal we felt like they really didn't care we were even there.

Drink orders were wrong , food was blaaaaaand as hell. Dissapointed. The spaghetti tasted like my sons school lunch. Lasagna meat tasted blahh but the chicken parmagiana was ok.

First experience here, and it is all positive. The Chicken Pita and the Gyro were both very tasty, well-prepared, fresh and satisfying. The breadsticks that came with our lunch were also very good. The place was clean and staff was very personable and nice. We'll return for sure!

I tried this restaurant for the first time tonight for dinner. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with broccoli and my husband ordered a small barbecue chicken pizza. Sadly I was very unimpressed with the food. The breadsticks and marinara sauce were both very bland. The breadsticks were cold. My fettuccine Alfredo had no flavor. My husband's barbecue chicken pizza had very little chicken on it & neither of us liked the pizza crust. Strangely enough even the soda tasted watered down. The service was okay and the restaurant was clean. I just cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone because the food was not worth it.

I had time to kill, I was craving Italian, so what's a girl to do? She stops into a place she's never eaten. First, the place is immaculately clean. Second, it had very few people inside, but I did see people carrying things out, so at least there's people visiting it. I thought I should place my order at the counter, but it turns out they have sit down service as well. I opted for a ham & cheese calzone and a soda. Seated my self in a booth and was given two piping hot parmasean & Garlic bread sticks with red sauce. That was delicious. When the actual food came out, it was HUGE, stuffed with cheese & ham and tasted so good. Service was a little slow, given how slow it was on the inside, but otherwise, I will probably be back.

Out of pure desperation one day, I ordered delivery from Gondolier because they're the only place within delivery range of my crib that uses Grande cheese. I ordered a small cheese pizza and an Italian sub. The pizza was good, nothing special, but the Italian was the shinning star of the delivery. I surprised at how good it was, and for that fact alone, I'm bumping up my review from a 2 star to a 3. The sandwich was on either an 8 or 9 inch hoagie roll. I know that every inch matters for the ladies out there, but in subland, it doesn't. The meat was stacked pretty high, and the flavor of the meats was above average. I give the sub a solid 4 on my Italian sammich scale.

Meatball & pepperoni Stromboli: very good. The meatballs were tasty and had a good texture. The cheese inside the Stromboli was excellent. The marinara on the side - not so good. The breading/crust was very good. I give the Stromboli 4 stars because the sauce was not good. Tour of Italy (chicken Parmesan, spaghetti with meat sauce, manicotti, and lasagne) not very good mostly because of the marinara sauce. The sauce just didn't work. I prefer a more hearty sauce and this was just too light and not very flavorful. I give it 2 stars because again the cheeses were SO good. Service was very good. Atmosphere was good and the restaurant was very clean.

Good local spot to get takeout. Fast and courteous service. l love their wings, which are full of flavor. My brother had a wrap that he enjoyed but he loved the wings. He was here on vacation a few weeks ago. and still talks about the wings. I am a New Yorker who takes her pizza seriously. Their pizza is okay, but the wings make-up for it.

Food was pretty good. But sign out front says kids eat free. We weren't told about the restrictions until the bill arrived. Even though we ordered from the kids menu we didn't get any discount.

I was in the market for a quiet dinner with a book one evening between errands and happened to be near Gondolier. I was greeted promptly and invited to seat myself at any open booth. I opted for an individual pizza and was very excited to see both black and green olives available as toppings. I went for pepperoni, green olives and mushrooms. My server brought garlic bread with marinara for dipping which made a nice snack while my pizza bubbled away. The pizza itself was pretty good - not amazingly authentic, but a good crust balanced between crispy bits and chewier bits. The sauce tended a little too sweet, but was tasty. The biggest disappointment was the mushrooms - clearly canned and a little rubbery. Personally, I hate canned mushrooms. Overall, pretty good pizza and a nice place to dine. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere calm and relaxing for a busy lady looking for some quiet time.

I wish I could say this was a good place because its a great location and they give you garlic bread with your meals. Unfortunately the pizza is average and the meatball sub was subpar. You can get a better meatball sub at Firehouse. Most likely not heading back in, to bad.

If you're a pizza lover then you must try the Gondolier Special! It's phenomenal! My friends had the Tour of Italy and between the 2 choices, lets just say we didn't talk for a good 20 minutes. The venue is great, food is delicious! A definite must try!

The pizza was terrible and one of their employees stole our credit card information! Beware of this if you order delivery!!

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
