Ah, Cold Stone, Where do I begin? You receive so much business because you're the only ice cream place in town. You're not even an Ice cream shop because your ice cream is not churned in house. I despise chain ice cream places. Cold Stone's ice cream is just a pile of "sugar fluff". Every flavor is either way too sweet or way too dense. By dense I mean after you eat it you feel like there's a mud bog sitting in your stomach. The rotation of flavors is non-rotating. They've had the "Oreo cream filling" (which is disgusting) for like a year now. I gave two stars because it is a cool concept; the whole mixing on a stone slab deal. But Tuscaloosa is in dire need of a real ice cream shop.

I really can't comment on the ice cream here because we were never waited on. In town for 4 days for NSFC, we came here twice for ice cream/smoothies and received terrible service twice. As we stood and waited the first time, we were next in line while one employee waited on the people in front of us and another employee messed around, never acknowledging us. This went on for 10 minutes before we bailed. Skip to 2 days later, we try again, only because there were no other ice cream options. This time, one person was waiting for her smoothie - she obviously wasn't happy with her service - it took forever and the employee was rude and uninterested. We waited while, AGAIN, another employee ignored us. As the girl at the cash register finished with her customer, I thought we might finally be acknowledged, but nope! A man walked in that was selling advertising or something and she came out from behind the counter to talk to him. Never looked at us, never said "I'll be with you shortly", it was honestly bizarre. The customer in front of us was in disbelief just like us - she loudly told us about the yogurt shop next door and that they are friendly there. I still can't believe the rude treatment we received here. Owners really need to be aware of customer service. I'm sure it's hard to find good employees, but this was out of control.

Possibly the most unfriendly Cold Stone Creamery in America. Shifts in ownership and a location that doesn't exactly cater to families may be the cause of this. Cold Stone should be full of kids and staffed by high school theatre geeks. This CSC is most often occupied by sorority girls and disgruntled freshman employees. Yes, singing for tips is dorky, but that's the schtick; if I put a buck in there, you better belt. Good luck getting this creamery's workers to even whistle. Too bad this is the only ice cream option with any proximity to the Tuscaloosa metro.

Had a houseful of guests for dinner. We bragged on the awesome dessert that was to follow: a Cold Stone Creamery Fudge Truffle Decadence red velvet ice cream cake. It was pretty. But it was NOT red velvet. It was a stale chocolate mint. I do not like chocolate mint. I especially do not like stale chocolate mint. It was embarassing. I was not happy. I will never buy another cake at Cold Stone. And I doubt that any of my guests will buy a cake there. The 2 stars are only because it was pretty.
