Healthy Meal suggestions for Cracker Barrel

Don't waste your time. My 12 yr old can make everything on their menu but much better. No flavor on all 4 of our dishes. Sweet tea was gross, sodas didn't have carbonation. Waitress was either too busy or just plain lazy. Only good thing was the bread/rolls. Never again will I be paying this chain, I can't believe they're still in business.

Standard breakfast from them. Great hash-brown casserole. The eggs were cooked with competence. However, just run of the mill, even on the bland side. Coffee was awful but service was good. The major redeeming quality is the atmosphere.

Normally I would give Cracker Barrel a 4 or 5 star rating due to quickness of seating and tastiness of the food. This location was not up to par sadly. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, not sure why as there were tons of openings. I ordered a veggie plate, usually my go to and favorite thing at CB. The mashed potatoes tasted VERY instant, they were awful and cold. The Mac n cheese and hashbrown casserole were just meh and were cold. The dumplins I got were also cold, and just all around nasty and hard, not soft as dumplins should be. The store was ok, but the bathroom was bad. I entered the men's room to find one stall being used so I stepped in the other. First off there was pee all over, like some kid had a field day swingin his dong all over whilst peeing. Secondly, the toilet itself had nothing but a gigantic meaty chud staring me in the face, surrounded by pounds of toilet paper, seemingly horribly clogged. Also had poo sprayed all over the inside of the bowl. Talk about filthy. Food was meh. Please drive a few extra mikes to another location in the future!

Good quality food for the price, nice atmosphere, and easy on and off interstate. For us it was a great place to recharge our batteries before the next leg of our road trip.

I think this has to be one of my favorite CB's to eat at. The reason it's not 5 stars is there is a very long wait at times and a very few times my service has been sub par. However, normally service is good and food is always average or above average. I usually do the breakfast but they have good chicken and dressing and real country sides. It is located right off exit 76 on I20-59 and it is easy to get off, go to CB and jump back on the interstate.

I called in a to go order today. The door greeter wouldn't even look me in the eye when I said good morning. I walked around looking at the decor items for sale while u waited for my food and the same woman kept following me throughout the store. While paying for my food the cashier was more worried about the cashier next to him that he did not notice me try to hand him my card. He never said thank you or asked if our oder was correct. He did however ask if I wanted to leave him a tip. Never going back. If this is the to go service I would hate to see in restaurant service.

Per usual I had the pancake breakfast and it was right on the money. Perfect pancakes, scrambled eggs and the best country ham you can buy. The best Cracker Barrel's are always in rural areas and this is one of the best.

Bad service. We are driving from Los Angeles, CA and this place was the worst we experience through tour road trip. We were taken to our table and waited for more than 20 minutes without help. A family that came after us was served first. So my wife and I left and that's when the employees tried to get us to come back. If you haven't been served for that long, it's time to go.

Cute lil country shop at the entrance of the restaurant. I was surprised how large the portions were. Food wasn't fabulous and I don't think I need to stop by the next time I am in town. Got a bit confused trying to get into the lot since my navigation system kept screwing me up.

This is a cute place. The decor is kitsy and interesting. Right away, I spotted chocolate to purchase after my meal. My mom took me here as a goodbye breakfast. I had the pancake special with turkey sausage and eggs over hard. I believe the pancakes had real homemade buttermilk in them. They were tasty. The sausage and eggs were nothing to write home about. The chef cooked them well. It is diner food elite, nothing more. Albeit, you get a lot for your money. I would go back to try the lunch or dinner when I'm back in town. Since mothers day was coming up and my moms birthday, I got her gifts from the gift store. Not necessarily my style, but my mom liked the outfits and she did look nice. The salesgirl was really polite and quite helpful. I don't remember her name, but we discussed flying to Europe and whether my chocolates I bought, Hammond's, would be safe from Birmingham airport employees. They were, by the way.

The food is hearty and filling, the service is pleasant and welcoming, and the store is fun to peruse any time of the year (but particularly in the fall and winter in my opinion). It's just off the East Tuscaloosa/Cottondale exit, just before you get into the thick of Tuscaloosa when heading west. Entry to and exit from the parking lot can be a little tricky, so watch out for confused drivers.

Sweet Home (Alabama) Cooking! Tuscaloosa seems to be on the rebound based upon how busy this place is!

The food is just some good down home southern cookin'. Really love the breakfast menu, and the sugar cured ham is amazing! The biscuits they bring you are amazing! I love the atmosphere and the prices!

It's Cracker Barrel. Good food. Slow service. But, I go to Cracker Barrel to relax and have a quiet home cooked meal and relax, so I don't mind slow service here.

Cracker barrel...I miss you so. I live this place. The food, the surroundings, and the southern novelty store in every one of them. They don't have these on the West Coast. The breakfast here is amazing. And the chicken and dumplings are the bomb. Second only to my nanny's.

As previous reviewers have said, this is a busy place. We came for lunch, but had the six grain & granola pancakes with sausage, eggs and banana slices. They served this with honey, but we requested ome maple syrup. This was extremely good and maybe the best pancakes I have ever had in my 60 plus years! The service was good and we left with a lot of calories and very full stomachs!

Cracker Barrel is not usually my cup of tea. However, this one greatly exceeded by expectations. Everything was great. We had a great breakfast with great service and great food. What more can I say?

AWFUL! Do not stop here. I have never eaten at a Crackerbarrel so on a long drive (from NC to AZ) we stopped at one around dinner time to return an audio book and decided to grab a hot meal (and got a cold dinner that left us both wishing we had gone hungry instead of eating there). We ordered the Chicken & Dumplings and the Meatloaf. Here are our reviews of both: Chicken and Dumplings with sides of hashbrown casserole and "fried apples". The chicken and dumplings were like a melded slop of raw dough, and the chicken texture resembled that of canned chicken. The hash brown casserole was OK and was probably the one thing on the table we both noshed on. The "fried apples" were recommended by the server to my dad and were also OK, but were actually in fact similar to an apple cinnamon filling for apple pie, nothing savory about it. I ordered the meatloaf, with sides of kernel corn, mashed potatoes, and cheese grits. My meatloaf and mashed potatoes were completely cold and hard, the texture of my mash potatoes was like when you take out leftovers from the fridge before warming them. The cheese grits tasted raw, and was inedible. Overall my dad and I left this place disgusted and wished we had Yelp'ed something local or done drive thru instead. I will never be eating at a Crackerbarrel again!

This was the first time that my SO got to experience Cracker Barrel. He fell in love. Cracker Barrel is basically the model Southern restaurant that embraces its hungry patrons with hospitality, a very homebody decorated interior, and of course, breakfast food to die for. Leaving is the saddest part. Hot chocolate with whip, A+. Fried chicken, A+. Hashbrown casserole, A+. Fried apples, A+. 2 egg beaters, F (don't order this). $4 worth of egg beaters somehow gets you something that resembles shriveled string cheese. The total was $20. I felt like a Southern King.
