Big River Inn is a motel and restaurant. I didn't stay here, only ate. Genoa is a very small town. In fact, the way Highway 35 runs along the Mississippi it's easy to miss on your way through. But my girlfriend and I were hungry and we decided to see what was happening in Genoa. When we arrived on a Saturday for lunch we were the only ones in. These river towns tend to be busy during summer for fishing and then not at all other times of the year so I didn't take the lonely state as a bad sign. In fact we greeted warm-heatedly by two ladies who were happy to help us get some food. The menu is pretty limited; there's pizza, burgers and sandwiches. We both opted for burgers. I think I was the first person to ask them for one without a bun (gluten) but they were happy to help. And it was a good burger with fresh lettuce and tomato. Price was fairly cheap as well. And those two ladies kept us entertained. It's Genoa, not a big city, so I'm impressed with the place despite the limited choices.
