Good diners are hard to find lately but this one was a pleasant surprise. I have only been here for breakfast but was very happy both times! The food is great and the service was good too. They have a great breakfast menu to select from as well. I highly recommend going for breakfast!

Ordered the rib eye steak special in medium rare for father's day. Served well done and not very good at that. Pricey at $19.99. Ordered the clam chowder. Tasted 3 days old. Can't expect much from a diner, I guess.

Amazing food! Huge menu! We ordered pancakes and omelettes, crispy and fluffy pancakes and farm fresh eggs for omelettes. Had a wonderful waitress, very nice and attentive. Loved this diner!

The food was always decent and service has always been good. Today I took my kids out for breakfast/ early lunch and found a bug in my daughters meal. It was gross. I will not be going back.

Great diner. Soups are amazing. Don't think I ever had a meal that I didn't like. My son loves the Panini's. Dinner specials include soup, salad, dinner, and dessert. You will never leave hungry. Oh and don't leave out breakfast, yum!!!

All of the servers here look like they just rolled out of bed, put on the same aprons as yesterday(and the day before), and are more interested in mindless conversations with their co-workers. The food is bland and tasteless. No local or fresh ingredients, canned food, and cheap gross coffee. If it weren't for all the cheap old clientele this place would have closed years ago. Seriously people, you deserve more for your hard earned money.

Hellertown Diner is your typical local diner. Due to it being the only one in the area, it tends to get mobbed with elderly patrons. Even during breakfast peak time I've always gotten a booth. Staff is efficient and friendly. Taking orders, receiving drinks and serving of food is average depending on how many tables the waitress will have. I've only ever eaten breakfast and I normally will eat their spinach/cheese/tomato omelette. It comes with home fries and I normally get a side of bacon. The omelette is HUGE. I can never finish it all, but it's cooked perfectly with just the right amount of cheese/spinach/tomatoes. The home fries are soft with a crispy top, just how I like them. My only gripe is about the bacon. I like it right to the point of being burned and it's never cooked enough to my liking. But bacon is bacon and I don't turn it away! If you are looking for a typical diner meal. I'd recommend here.

This is one of the better "typical" diners I've been to. It's not a gastro diner or gourmet diner. I've had several good breakfasts here. The home fries are always fresh off the flat top and crispy. Eggs are cooked fresh, as well as other typical breakfast fare (pancakes, french toast, omelets, etc.). What Hellertown Diner does better than others is that the food does not seem to be mass produced in the kitchen and then slopped on a plate. It's actually fresh, hot, and tasty. The service is friendly, the place is really clean, bright and airy. It's our favorite local diner to go to. Good pricing, and good variety.

Love love love this place! Breakfast lunch or dinner you will get a great meal. BREAKFAST : order bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. The coffee is the BEST they serve LACAS coffee. LUNCH: go for a club sandwich (you can't fit your mouth around it) DINNER: my favorite is the flounder stuffed with crabmeat its outta this world! And it's real crabmeat no imitation. I have been eating at this place for two yrs it's my favorite diner!

The food is okay, but our waitress, Emily was THE worst. One of the worst I've ever experienced. When my mom asked how much it was to add cheese, she huffed and said I don't know what all the prices are on the menu. She didn't come back over for 5 minutes with water, and my sister wanted coffee so she waved down the first person she saw, who happened to be a busboy. Out of nowhere, the waitress appears, shoos him away and says don't listen to them, and then tells us he doesn't speak English, don't talk to him. When we were giving her our order, I felt like she was rushing us through it so fast so she could dash off, and it wasn't even that busy in there. I'm a server, so I know how it is when it's busy, but it wasn't. Even still, her rudeness was amazing, just in her tone and demeanor. We asked to speak to a manger about our omelet, and he was just as rude. To me, the people who work there make the place. If the food was amazing, I would never come back.

Maybe Guy Fieri should make a pit stop here. Just throwing it out there (Guy, I doubt but continue to hope you're reading). I am a sucker for a good diner, and my hometown of Philadelphia is full of them. That is why whenever I pass through Hellertown I am happy to frequent this place. Great service, great food, and wow..I sound like a used car salesman. No fuss and frills about it, though, this place is a fabulous diner with a beautiful brunch menu. Take advantage of this inexpensive and classic set up any time you happen to be in the Saucon Valley.

Typical family diner. Large, tasty burgers with fresh toppings and crispy fries. The coleslaw was a bit strong (fresh?) but overall a nice experience. The sever did a great job! The ice cream with whipped cream and sprinkles with the kids meals was a nice touch.

YES, finally a real good breakfast. My eggs were actually cooked. They were great. Even the coffee was great. I had to splurge and have a cinnamon bun with sauce. Awesome. I love breakfast out. And where I live it is not an option unless you eat crap. There is Chris's Diner and it is packed. My eggs always look like milk with a yellow center and the ham or sausage is gross and all cold. always. Then we have the bear swamp and that pretty much says it all. Oh and let's not forget Hometown. The worst breakfast in History of the World. Always packed. Does your wife cook like this or your mother. Mine sure doesn't . She cooks like the Hellertown Diner. Great fluffy eggs. Real ham. Good buttery warm toast. YEAH!

There's nothing wrong with this place; there's nothing terribly exciting about it either. It's a diner, the food is okay, the prices are reasonable. The service is hit or miss, I've had particularly bad service on slow evenings but particularly good service on busy mornings. I imagine it's directly related to the amount of experience of the staff has working the better/worse shifts. There have been a couple dinners at this location in the past few years. The current version is much better than previous and well worth giving it a change if you're in the mood for diner food.

One of the best diners around. The service was great, our server was really nice and friendly as was the hostess. We ordered breakfast and everything came out quick, steaming hot, and there was so much of it I couldn't even finish my omelette. Plus the homefries were nice and crisp. Definitely will be back soon!

We love this place. It is affordable, the staff is friendly and perky! The food is great, mostly "home made". We really enjoy the dinner specials. Most are $9.99 or $10.99 and include a bowl of soup, a large fresh salad, the entree with sides, and pudding or ice cream for dessert. We usually have the fresh tapioca or rice puddings with whipped cream. If you order a dessert, they have amazing pies and cakes that are VERY tall and delicious. My nephew ordered a Death by Chocolate cake yesterday, and we all had some. It was rich and fresh and delicious. We have had Italian platters there, Steak Sandwiches, Seafood, Homestyle Beef Stroganoff, and more that I can't think of right now. It was all good, generous portions, and a pleasant atmosphere. It is about an hour and a half ride for us to get there, and we usually stop at Lake Nockamixon State Park on the way home to take a nice walk and work off some of the good food that we ate.

We LOVE the Hellertown Diner! We have never had a bad meal there ever and the food is great and the people who work there are always pleasant. A couple of our favorites....the club sandwiches are big and very good...their soups are awesome from the homemade vegetable soup to my favorite, the cream of turkey....their lasagne is fantastic and rivals most Italian restaurants easily (it's my favorite meal there and there is no better diner lasagne in the entire area).....and ANYTHING breakfast is really good, especially their buttermilk pancakes which our kids love. The prices are reasonable as well which is the icing on the cake. Hellertown Diner has become our favorite spot to eat in the entire area and if it were closer I would eat there more often! Hate to give away our 'secret spot' but I couldn't recommend it any higher.

No idea what the earlier reviewer is talking about (the Blue Sky Cafe is only in business because there's no other decent "diner" in the area, despite their abysmal service). The Hellertown Diner is your standard local diner. The only thing exceptional about their breakfasts is that unlike many other places, their homefries are perfectly crisp each and every time. Their burgers are actually pretty outstanding and actually quite large. I go here for burgers instead of any other sit-down burger place. It's actually cheaper than Red Robins... The cakes they serve are also fantastic but expensive. They are supposedly imported from some famous bakery I never heard of but who cares they have a great Snickers cake. It's also convenient to the rimfire range where I am a member.

Food is okay, home fries were cold, but eggs were fine. I have eaten here three times. Each time something was either cold or overcooked. But the true issue is the service and the manager (either the women or the man) at the front door. Gruff diner waitresses are a classic east coast thing, but these are not gruff, they ignore you and when you order act like you are bothering them. Never a smile. They check with you on how is your order, but it is as they breeze by and if you say no another look like what, geez can't you see that I am busy. Then the women and man at the door, are lounging in the front booth like it is a living room and these people (us customers) are uninvited guest that they cannot wait until they leave. Bypass this place and head into Bethlehem and go to the Blue Sky Cafe on 4th street. Pleasant service and not just good, but great food.
