Wow!! This place really lived up to the hype. Got a full slab of memphis-style dry rub ribs, truly a work of art. Perfect balance of dry and smoky but moist and juicy at the same time. Top notch seasoning. This man is a true master of his craft. You can tell how the owner placed in the top 20 in Memphis in May rib competition (basically the world championship for ribs). We also got the tamales which were pretty good but the ribs are truly the star here. Come see for yourself, you wont be disappointed. Best ribs I have ever had.

I'm visiting Mississippi from Florida and I just happened to drive by this enchantingly cute restaurant. However the food is NOT cute, it's bad ass! I got the Memphis dry-rub ribs, potato salad, and cole slaw to go. My main complaint, typically, is that the ribs and slaw are too sweet. I hate overly sweet ribs. Ugh. Not the case here at all! The ribs were savory and just the faintest bit of sweetness. They were tender, juicy, and deeelicious. I wish they had been just a tad spicier, but that's a personal preference. The potato salad didn't have mustard, or if it did I couldn't tell. Personally, I don't like mustard in my potato salad so this was great. Thumbs up. The cole slaw was perfect, not too sweet, fresh ingredients, not overwhelmed with any one ingredient - perfect balance of flavor. Even though it was a to-go order, things were packaged well and the ribs kept in foil so they remained juicy and warm. The server at the register who took my order was very helpful and gorgeous - just saying. I will absolutely be returning on my next trip! I highly recommend it.

Like Brandi N. said, its FINGER LICKIN' GOOD! Came here for an early dinner the other day, and I'm so glad we did!! Had the pulled pork bbq sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad, while the bf had 1/2 rack of ribs and an order of tamales. The sandwich was good, but the ribs were great! Seriously, I think I prefer these ribs over Central BBQ in memphis. The tamales were kind of pricy, but if you're craving them... go for it! We especially loved that the owner walked around and made sure that all of his patrons were enjoying their meals -- not something to overlook! This location seems to be cursed (I can think of at least 4 businesses in this spot over the past couple of years), so I really hope that this business sticks around!! Will be back soon!

The Best BBQ south of Memphis !!! The only BBQ that can hold a candle would be the Central BBQ in Memphis.

You have to try this place! Their BBQ nachos are the BEST thing ever! You have to try them. I have never eaten inside the restaurant because I always use drive through. The same two people always work the drive through and they are both really friendly. My only critique of Rebel Barn is that this place needs better signage... there's still a donut sign outside which I have known to confuse many friends of mine and potential customers of theirs.

Mixture of southern and mexican food! The taquitos and tamales are delicious. I didn't think that I would like the bbq sauce with the tamales but it was perfect! The taquitos had a good pork mixture and were very crisp. I think the tamales were a little expensive ( 3 for $4) but were awesome like said. I am definetly going back.

Got a full rack of ribs after reading the reviews on the Memphis Style dry rub ribs. The ribs were as good as it gets. Very lean and meaty, smokey, moist and tender, with a great dry rub on the outside. I can't remember having better ribs anywhere since I first had dry rub ribs at the Rendezvous 40-50 years ago. The tamales were good too, but the ribs are outstanding.

Literally finger licking good is the best way to describe the Memphis-style dry rub! I LOVE authentic Memphis, TN BBQ and I do not cheat on him. That said, I entered into Rebel Barn expecting nothing. My family members teased me by pointing out the Memphis BBQ on the menu at Rebel Barn and the manager backed them up pointing out that only about 12 points separated him from the winner of the 2013 Memphis in May barbecue contest. Reluctantly, I tried it. Greedily, I ate like two men until I had licked every spare morsel of dry rub off the paper on which my 1/2 slab of ribs was served. The seasoning was a perfect blend of salty and sweet that made me sop the extra up with the bone. The meat was juicy with just enough crisp on that thin outer layer to make me not even bother with the sides until all of my meat (crumbs included) was gone. The baked beans were impressive. They seemed to have pulled pork and brown sugar inside and tasted like my country cousin had fixed em just for me. What looked like red potato salad was okay. It LOOKED great. It was a little salty though and I prefer mustard in my potato salad. The coleslaw was very plain. It was okay though. I tossed the coleslaw into my cup of beans (complete with pulled pork) and it tasted like a small, bun-less pulled pork sandwich! We ate lunch. Next we went and visited some family members, then came back to order another 1/2 slab of ribs for dinner. They're that good! Note: When we went back in the evening, they were blasting the blues! In that moment, I was my great uncle two-stepping in the middle of that otherwise quiet restaurant. TWO STEP!

We just moved here from Dallas, where we enjoy some of the best bbq in the world. I was not expecting much from this place, but the pulled pork is legit; nice smoke ring, tender, decent flavor. The Gambler sandwich, pork with a thick ring of smoked baloney, slaw, was solid, though I'd probably opt for just pulled pork next time. The brisket does not fare as well - it's not on the menu and it seemed warmed up, texture too loose, not much smoke flavor and a strangely spicy outer crust. The "Hot Tamales" need spice and salsa, otherwise far too bland. The sides are negligible, but the slaw is that dry, confetti style, which has a nice crunch and freshness, especially when piled on a pulled pork sandwich. Overall though we were pleasantly surprised. It's nice to know that you can at least get a decent bbq sandwich in this town and we will come back - I need to try the ribs.

I had the "cross dresser" sandwich which is pulled pork, smoked cheddar and bacon on a bun with sweet BBQ sauce. One of the best BBQ sandwiches I have had. The owner was courteous and let us sample his chicken salad ... also a great choice. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and BBQ sauce. She said it was very tasty and likely to become regulars. You can get sides but we were eating lighter ... The sandwiches were meals by themselves with generous portions. The owner gave the history of the physical space. Added to the experience. We will be back many times. The Memphis dry rub ribs are next!

I can definitely see why the owner placed so high in the Memphis in May BBQ Contest. His ribs were some of the best if not the best I have ever tasted. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and great service. I will definitely go back the next time I visit my son at Ole Miss. I do wish they served unsweet tea but oh well. I know sweet tea is the southern way.

Stopped in for the BBQ nachos and was NOT disappointed. :) I got them to go, so they were a little cold by the time I got home, but they were delish! The chef and the staff are really friendly and were super fast with my order. Try them out- you'll be happy you did!!

Great BBQ in Oxford! Try their baked beans--they have some of the smoked meat in them and are the best I've eaten in a long time! They're open Tues. - Sat. and have a drive-thru or dine- in option.

I got this food delivered through Landshark Delivery to my dorm at Ole Miss on September 1st, 2015. I ordered the large bbq (pulled pork with bbq sauce) sandwich (I think it's called the mega BBQ) with sides of coleslaw and potato salad. The food was delivered promptly (under 30 min) and served hot, which speaks just as much to the efficiency of the restaurant as to the speed and efficiency of the delivery driver. The sandwich was superb. They put coleslaw right on the sandwich, but just enough to give it flavor and not so much to overpower the sandwich. They also seemed to make it so the coleslaw wasn't overly wet as to make the sandwich soggy. The bun held up extremely well under the load of a large amount of pulled pork and coleslaw, which is unusual, especially when getting sandwiches like this delivered. The sauce was spicy and flavorful, and paired extremely well with the pork. The pork itself was superb, even where the sauce didn't touch it-hot, cooked properly and tender, with no big chunks of jellied fat, well flavored (not sure whether dry rub or marinade- it was so tender I couldn't even tell either way). Ridiculously good sandwich and well worth the money. The size wasn't shabby either, at about 6" in diameter. The downside of my order was that the sides were average. The coleslaw is made with an oil and vinegar base with a tiny bit of cream-base thrown in for good measure, which pairs extremely well with the sandwich. It's average on its own, though, and I've found it wasn't even nearly as good as the KFC coleslaw I usually compare to as a baseline. However, I don't expect them to change it, which is fine. It works on the sandwich extremely well. The potato salad was worse than average- I've had better at Walmart. It was boring, with no depth of flavor. It tasted like someone had taken pieces of potato and poured milk and salt over it, and that's it. The only good think I can say about it is that the potato had excellent consistency in the salad- properly cooked, with a bit of al dente to it, and if they can fix the flavor of it, it'll be a potato salad that's as good as the sandwiches with which it's served. I did also try the sweet tea, and it was superb. Not too much sugar, not too much tea- just right. Overall, this is a toss up between 4 and 5 stars. I can't in good conscience give the full five after the experience I had with the sides, but it's definitely more than just the four. That sandwich and sweet tea was incredible, and I'll definitely be returning for more. Rebel Barn, fix your sides and you'll earn a flawless five stars.

I had the gambler sandwich which was fantastic, an order of tamales which were excellent and didn't even need sauce, the potato salad which was also tasty, and an order of "UTZ kettle chips". I will focus on the chips for the moment... When one hears the word kettle in front of chips, one typically thinks of house made lightly seasoned with possibly homemade spices slightly thick cut crispy wonderful chips, right? To my chagrin, what showed up when I ordered the chips was a bland tasteless bag of lays classic potato chips. For $2.75. Please indicate that the chips are lame-o instead of house made. Also (this isn't really a major one) the water I ordered was a bottle, not a cup of ice with water in it. This is a mild peeve of mine and most people would probably consider it a plus... Other than the 2 mild complaints I have because I'm spoiled, this place has rad barbecue and I recommend coming here to anyone! Just avoid the chips unless you like Lays classic potato chips.
