Hole in the wall strip mall joint. The owner is a laid back Hawaiian. Nice guy who has been here for 8 years. We ordered the " Da Grinds" Mix Plate, Pork Adobo, meat balls. They don't serve beer but the food more than made up for it. VERY GOOD... Pleasantly surprised...

Yummy! Who doesn't love authentic Hawaiian food and a local business! The flavorful menu here is sure to delight even the pickiest of eaters (ie. my midgets aka kids) The building has a Hawaiian feel to it, with the Hawaiian radio station playing! The food does take awhile to come out. But hey you get what you pay for... so I am not complaining about this hand crafted deliciousness! If you in a hurry defiantly order togo at least 20 minutes in advanced...

Da Grinde plate was excellent. This was my first time here so I wanted to try all their meats. It came with Pork, Beef and Chicken teriyaki. Pulled pork was excellent followed by good Chicken teriyaki. Beef teriyaki came in 3rd place as it was not hot when it reached my table but it wasn't a disappointment. The plate came with 2 scoops of rice and Macaroni salad. Macaroni salad was one of the freshest and best tasting I have had in a while. The interior of the place fit the atmosphere. I will definitely be going back to try other things.

Had the three meat mixed plate- delicious!! This restaurant is in a nondescript strip mall in Nampa but don't let the exterior fool you- this place is awesome! Great food- reasonably priced- we will return!

I love this place. Great food and service. Best Mac salad EVER! Always get the mix plate so you get a little bit of everything. Owners are also amazing. I am a regular and was craving dim Mac salad. Went in it was a holiday at the end of the day, they whipped me up a small personal batch.....It was the best! Aloha!!

Really good, authentic Hawaiian plate lunch. The macaroni salad is flawless; the kahlua pig sandwich was to die for. We will DEFINITELY be back, and often! Thank you for bringing back great memories of lunches enjoyed while we lived on gorgeous Oahu. Bonus pro- military discount - thank you!

We just back from Kauai Hawaii and looked forward to eating here. The food is as good or better than we found on the island. The staff is super friendly and engaged in your dining experience. We love the Aloha roll, a sushi with spicy tuna, mango and more. Their teriyaki chicken is just like the great eateries on Oahu and the sauce is fantastic. The macaroni salad is soooo good too. They have a complete menu of many Hawaiian dishes and it is superb. They have free soda refills and great desserts too. Island Kine is our new "take friends" to restaurant in the area. Go there, you will be happy you did.

I love this place! It's an oasis of aloha in the land locked state of Idaho. The food is excellent, portions large, and service superb. I can't wait to go back and eat lau lau! Hawaiians, Haoles, hungry people - Island Kine Grinds get 'Ono food for everyone! Broke da mout'! Renus and Ludi are the real deal. Hawaiian food is quickly disappearing in the Treasure Valley. With the recent closings of Kana Girl's Hawaiian BBQ on State St. and Uncle Roger's beloved Shaka Shak on Broadway, please go Island Kine Grinds! Mahalo!

I got their mixed plate with teriyaki beef, chicken, and Kahlua pig so I could try a lot of things and it was all delicious! Mac salad is great too. My grandpa came from Hawaii and this takes me back to his bbq's. I will definitely be going here more often.

Went to this place for the first time today and had the mixed plate and pulled pork sandwich. The flavors were delicious and the portions quite generous. The mixed plate gives you portions of each Teriyaki chicken, beef, and pork along with their tasty mac salad and rice. Two people can easily share this if you're not starving! The pulled pork sandwich has a sweet pineapple salsa on top. Generally, I don't like mixing fruit with my food, but this really worked for me. We will definitely go back. A side note, the kids meals are generous portions as well.

Had the Kalua Pig and Teriyaki Chicken. Also tried Teriyaki Beef. All were very good with the pig and chicken (and rice) being our favorites. A pleasant local surprise recommended by a friend and a recent article naming this restaurant one of the top 15 in Idaho.

Having lived in Hawaii for a few years I have defiantly ate at some authentic places being there. This place tastes nothing like the authentic recipes. I got the mini mix plate and both the chicken and beef were cooked in a crockpot and super dry, the beef was beyond nasty there nothing worse then dried out beef that tastes reheated. The kalua pork was ok, I make better at home. I asked for haupia and they didn't have any because they can't find it. I was kind of confused that she said that since the real way to make it is not from the powder and if they are really from Hawaii they should know how to make it all. We will never go back which is sad because we were really looking forward to some good hawaiian food.

I'm a Honolulu (haole!) native, and this place is like being home for dinner. REAL HAWAIIAN, amazing luau pork, and an impressive menu of all the traditional meals. Ho brudduh, eat 'em a-ready, cuz! My favorites are SPAM musubi, coconut jello, luau pork, and their white rice is perfect.

YUM YUM and YUM!!!! The food here is so delicious, I wish their hours were longer and were open on Sundays as well. The people are so nice and friendly, it's hard to find good customer service these days. I highly reccomend this place to everybody that likes good food!

Ludi and Renus are the real deal when it comes to everything Hawaiian. Great service, great food, great people and always treat me like family. Get the beef curry. I wasn't a fan of curry before Renus got me to try it and now it's one of my favorite plates. Go see them and you'll feel like family too!

Stopped in for dinner to go. It was AMAZING! Food was very authentic & plenty of it. Trying to pick a favorite from what we ordered is too difficult- it was all so good. We will definitely be back.

They serve classic Hawaiian style plate lunches. I had the luau Pig with cabbage and it was very, very tasty. Owner is super cool and the location is just about 1 mile west of 84 on Garrity. Go check 'em out!

Went to Island Grinds for lunch today...it was fantastic. My friend and I shared the three meat lunch and it was perfect. Renus, the owner, is the nicest guy! He was very attentive and willing to answer all of my questions. His wife is the chef and she is absolutely wonderful! Seriously two of the most genuine people you will ever meet. I highly recommend this cozy restaurant...find the time to go there, I promise you won't regret it!

Indeed, very good... I judge my Hawaiian by their kalua pork. While tasty, a bit on the wet side for me but delicious none the less. The Macaroni salad was perfect...Walking through the menu now and since have had the teriyaki chicken and beef in a combo plate...Both were nice but not overwhelmingly outstanding. Bottom line, make your way out to Nampa to visit. Everything is made fresh and right. the gentlemen (whose name I havent learned yet) is welcoming and helpful with the menu and you'll find nothing but regulars who can swear by the place!

Stopped in today for the first time and was happy that I did. Arrived at 6:45 (15 min before closing) but were not rushed to order. The owner was friendly and chatted with us while we waited for our order of chicken lau lau, chasiu manapuas, and kalua pig and teriyaki chicken sandwiches. Everything was wonderful! We will be back soon.

Went back to Island Kine Grinds last week and they now have Loco Moco on the menu!!! I love Loco Moco, but essentially a heart attack on a plate...as good as any I ever had in Hawaii. Still the same great place, extremely clean and owners very friendly. Everyone should try it!!!
