Los Agaves We were driving through town with our dog. We saw a table outside so we stopped to ask if we could eat outside with our dog. The hostess said the out side was not open as they did not have the staff available. We asked if we could take our food Togo and use the table. She asked her manager who said we could eat outside. We said that we were fine with Togo but he insisted it was fine and cleaned the chairs and the table. He even brought out a second table so we would have room. Not only did the manager seat us out side he served us himself. And brought water for our dog.

Average enchilada platter, good (but small for the the price) margarita, good service, your thinking why only 2 stars? The salsa that came with the chips before the meal was the worst I've ever tasted. Red, watery, devoid of ANY cilantro, tasted a lot like a can of Hormel chili with no beans.

No No No!!! If you want to get sick I suppose yes. We walked in and immediately smelled a musty odor (strong). We waited for about 3 minutes until a young man passed by and looked at us. We asked if he was open and he replied in spanish that he didn't understand english. He then turned to leave WITHOUT letting anyone know we were standing there. I would NEVER eat there based on the smell and the cleanliness of the surroundings. There were many tables dirty...oh and that smell! I would hight reccomend you do NOT give this establishment your money!!!!!!!! So happy we walked out!

This is your typical, traditional Mexican restaurant. I have been to many and what I can say is that they tend to be about the same. Similar menu items, chips and salsa at the start... the chips and salsa do tend to vary though and I have always enjoyed the chips and salsa here. The rice and beans and even presentation all tend to taste similarly throughout my visits to random Mexican restaurants all between Sheridan and Seattle. Service is frequently mediocre--not bad but not exceptional. Usually the food comes out very quickly. The best upside to this place is their price. They have THE best prices I have ever come across for this food, and Los Agaves also offers lunch specials which are a steal for the amount of food that you get. I have had bad service here and I have had great service here. But the food quality is generally consistent so it isn't difficult to look past the service when considering returning.

We went with a group of 5 people, and nobody was impressed. The place was huge inside. However, hardly any seats were filled. If I could describe the food in 1 word: Plain

So this place needs to be revisited because I'd love to give it a higher rating. The food is really, really good. The service was ... well. It was horrible. I've never walked out on a bill before but after waiting 35 minutes to get ours I was seriously considering it. No, I didn't. But come on. Really? At first they were great. We got drinks and chips quickly! Then, we had to wait a while to place our order. Then a bit longer to get food but that's ok. We're good. Then we eat and... nobody else is in the restaurant but for some reason the check isn't coming. And then the staff takes their lunch. And eats. While we wait. Who does that? So rude that I was actually laughing at the absurdity. In short, I'll be back for the food but I'm probably going to bring change with me so I can just drop some bills and leave.

The food was surprisingly good. I am from Southern California, so I know Mexican food. And I was very happy with my carne asada quesadilla. My dad liked is chile verde. The salsa was a little too mild for my taste and what I'm used to. But overall the food was good. Service was good. Prices were good. The decor was very pretty. Beautiful murals painted on all the walls. I wanted to try a margarita but I had to get on a tiny little airplane soon and thought twice about the alcohol. Haha. Even tho this is the only Mex food place in Sheridan, I think my dad will survive the move from SoCal if he gets a chance to go here often.

The food is generic Mexican like you find in every ersatz Mexican restaurant in every town in Wyoming-- tasteless and unimaginative. Plus the carpet could use a good cleaning. Not recommended

I enjoy Los agaves . I never was a fan of Mexican my family never was able to get me to go. I decided to give it a try. I've only been at lunch time between 11 and 12, and for the most part your seated right away. They could be a bit more attentive. It gets annoying when you see quite a few "chip boys" walking by and not even acknowledging you. The food is really good. I normally get a chicken chimmychunga and it's quite a big portion, retried beans, rice and chimmychunga. You also get unlimited chips to start with, and ate the end you get an amazing cinnamon tortilla chip, with a dollop of whipped cream and strawberry drizzle. Essentially it's like a 3 course meal! And for two of us and all that it's about 20$

BE PREPARED TO WAIT. AND WAIT. AND WAIT. Your order will probably be messed up because the ONE waitress doesnt write anything down. The food was pretty good. I had an enchilada and a taco so not much there to screw up. bathroom was ok. Not spotless, just ok. As far as waiting forever for someone to take your money, yep, just leave what you've got. If you do a credit card, you'll be there all night.

It was ok. There were a lot of workers but they all seemed busy doing not much. My waitress was friendly but aloof. Didn't seem to know how to juggle her tasks. The food was not bad, just not served on a hot plate, you know "don't touch the plate, it's hot" kind of hot. So the food would have been better if the plate was hot. I don't think there was a Mexican in the building, but then ... hello ... were in the beautiful Big Horn mountains of Wyoming.

Having lived in Phoenix and Denver I would say their Mexican food was hands down the best in Sheridan and their classic margarita was the best I've had in a long time. But the service was so absolutely terrible that I see why Oliva's (the other Mexican restaurant in town) stays in business.

Warm chips, good salsa, friendly service. We were driving through Sheridan on the way home and needed to find a place for dinner. Los Agaves won the "many cars in the lot" test, as reviews for restaurants in this town were few and far between. The place is really big, with several separate dining areas. Service was fast. Since we were driving we did not try the margaritas, but they offer a wide variety of good tequilas and have non-pre mixed options. The frozen drinks however, seemed quite popular with the locals. I had Tacos al Carbon which were served in a Ranchera sauce. The steak was good and quite flavorful. I would have preferred to have them "naked" though. I was going to try the Enchiladas en Mole Poblano but the server recommended the steak "being a beef guy from WY". My daughter's chicken taco was really good - shredded chicken with a bit of a flavorful red sauce. Tasty rice and beans, standard fare. For the town, this seems like a winner. Wish I could have had a marg! Clean restrooms with changing table. Plenty of high chairs and booster seats.

The food was excellent and the staff was constantly making sure we had plenty of chips and salsa. However, we went through an entire meal of chips before our food arrived, it took nearly 40 minutes for a party of four. The service overall was pretty disorganized but the quality of food mostly made up for this.

Terrible food. Very Bland and boring. There was only 1 person who spoke english and it wasn't the manager. It took 45 min just to get our drinks. When our order did finally come, it was wrong. Just bad all around...

4 stars food for food quality, 2 stars for service. Based on the other review we gave it a try. Admittedly the food was overall average, but the service sub-par. It too about 15 minutes to get seated though there were many empty tables, 15 minutes for the waitress to first come to our table, then about 35 minutes to get our food. Also the table was not clean enough, and instead of giving each of us a table setting, they just handed us a stack of napkins and a stack of forks with a pitcher of water and some empty glasses.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
