Stopping by this place during our trip to yellow stone. It's better than another Chinese buffet we tried near Cleveland. Being a Chinese, I consider this place good - at least they speak Chinese!

On my recent business trip to Riverton, we were looking for a little something different and vegetarian friendly for our last day. Having driven past one Chinese restaurant for the last 3 days, I suggested that place. It was then that I found out that there were not one, but in fact **2** Chinese restaurants in this little town of 10k. What a nice surprise! Then all of a sudden a huge fight erupted amongst the business locals over which joint was the best! There were punches, slaps, bloody knuckles, and hair pullings all around!! It was CRA-ZY!! Okay, so I'm joking about that last part. But people seemed to be pretty passionate about their Chinese preferences. Thus, the Oriental Palace won by a vote and off we went. We showed up for the buffet on a weekday night at around 7 pm. The place was quiet and the decor was nothing special. The buffet appeared to large, numerous, and well stocked. After plating a little bit of everything, I sat down and dug in. The seafood dishes were warm and well seasoned. The fried dishes we quite crispy without the grease. The crab rangoon was well stuffed. I was very satisfied with all I tried and well stuffed for a mere $9. I guess they have a menu too, but we never received one, so I don't know what that looks like. Thank you Oriental Palace. I would slap anyone in the face who heads over to the "other place"!!! (notquitebutyoucatchmydrift)

If this was your last meal, skip it, lol. This is oversauced, underwheling Chinese food. They have a HUGE buffet, but hugeness does not mean quality. The shrimp were like rubber bands, some of the dishes like the pepper steak and shredded pork had funny after tastes. The tea was so weak it was more like hot water. There was not one dish I tasted off their buffet that I could call remotely good. The server was very sweet and that is why I'm giving this two stars. I don't know, maybe it's just this area. I do know that many of their dishes are frozen from a food merchant, but they could at least try to improve upon them. Oh, and the fortune cookies were soooooooooooo stale.

Read the previous review so stopped in for a to go order when most other restaurants were closed on a Sunday...bad idea! Sweet and sour shrimp not edible...not even sure there was any shrimp in there. General Tso's chicken barely edible. Not recommended. Sorry, my experience was not good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
